Way to go on your numbers and being consistent with posting. I'm so busy with homework that I haven't had time to come here and post.
I'm still doing well with the no sugar and no N/A beer. I did have a diet root beer tho. It was in the house and couldn't resist. I'm not a soda drinker, but if there's a diet root beer around, I'm all over it. My all time favorite soda is Birch Beer. Can't get it here in TN, thank goodness, but when I would visit family in PA, I would grab one any chance I could get. I think soda is almost as bad as alcohol, but every once in a while is ok, right?

I'm a little upset with myself this morning - my A days are growing and I'm having a tough time stringing together more that 2 AF days in a row lately. Stress and "celebrating" silly small things are the excuses I've been giving myself.
Today I'm challenging myself to shoot for at least 4 days in a row AF.

@SparkSpringtime69 Sounds like a good goal...one day at a time. You've got this.3

@SparkSpringtime69
I can relate. I chalked it up to be FOMO. I should have mentioned this in my previous post. I always felt like I was missing something if I didn't imbibe when others were and I felt somewhat envious thinking they were having fun because of the alcohol, but it was the togetherness that was fun. I learned you can have just as much if not more fun without drinking. I hope you have a better day.8 -
@SparkSpringtime69 this is me too! I can 100 percent relate. I am going to challenge myself to 3 AF days in a row as I want to get back to consistently sticking to my ‘planned’ A / AF days this weekend.
I did really well with LA for the first three days of camping - measuring wine ounces, etc.
But, last night I didn’t count and rationalized that I went on a 6 mile bike ride, plus tracked 10,000 steps. Had a big appetite too. We are heading home today…..back to reality!

Hi I am looking to reduce my alcohol intake I am 59 and enjoy the wine too much!!7

I'm getting into the cardiologist this Wednesday. I've been off alcohol 9 days. I hope my EKG looks better than the last one. My liver enzymes were up with my blood work so of course that is another reason to stay AF. I am also eating boring, healthy food (though I am trying to jazz it up and not be so dull.) Hopefully, when I do another blood test in a few months, my healthier life style will reflect this. I don't know if it has been mentioned but the free app NOMO is wonderful and helpful to those trying to kick any kind of addiction. After reading the encouragements, I see that people are addicted to anything and everything.6

@I_am_motivated you are so kind to share your decision to go AF for the long term, so thank you for your honesty and insights. Especially how you are seeking God’s guidance in this. That is so wonderful! I wish you all the success as you finish up your last class. I completed my Graduate degree at age 62! I believe it is never too late to accomplish big goals!5

Hi everyone… it’s been quite a week. 🥴 MIL is recovering well. They did have to put in that pacemaker, and she recovered well. They finally extubated her which was a huge step! No more ventilator, and she’s breathing very well on her own! Thank God!
It’s been very stressful for me though because more than anything I have to be the glue that holds my husband together. I have to be the one to go to the hospital to sit for hours watching her sleep. I have to be the one who takes the kids to see her and reassure them she is progressing well. I have to talk to the doctors and nurses to get all the pertinent information and figure out how to update everyone. And I get the added bonus of dealing with my PITA BIL and his wife. My husband just can’t handle it despite the fact it’s his mother!
Anyway, it’s been a rough and busy week. I haven’t been able to do my walking and my eating has been crap which means I’ve gained weight again this week🙁. BUT… I’m not doing too bad on the alcohol front!
I haven’t posted since the morning of the 11th. I did have alcohol on the 12th, BUT it was only 2 shots of Woodford Reserve Double Oak that I sipped slowly with a bunch of water as we watched my husband’s friend perform at a dive bar that night which he refused to miss because “I gave him my word.” (I didn’t give him mine though…🙄)

Accountability checkin:
Had a staycation Fri-Sat this weekend. Cracks me up that driving 8 minutes from my house to stay elsewhere can be so enjoying.
Since not driving in the car I did have prosecco Friday and woke Saturday morning without a problem to get some Vitamin D at the pool.
Next planned drink day is April 24

Though I was tempted for an A night, it didn’t happen.
We almost lost MIL today while my husband was visiting her when they were removing her chest tubes. She coded! Fortunately, ”a nurse brigade” and the doctor got her back. Hubby is very traumatized now. No idea if he’ll be able to handle another visit.🙁8 -
@SunnyDays930 ...I feel your pain with the "boring-healthy-food". Not everything healthy has to be plain fish fillets and steamed veggies !! Try an ethnic cuisine like Indian or Thai where the flavors lie in the spices rather than the fats and salts. A batch of Chole Curry divided into serving size portions in the freezer to be dumped over brown rice can stave off "Oh, *kitten*, I'll just order pizza". Stir fry veggies [WTF is bok choy ?? LOL] with rice noodles and a bit of pork/seafood/chicken is healthy and filling. I love panjeon for breakfast...simple, and adding a small can of clams makes it lunch. Google is your friend....
You are doing GREAT with your Less Alcohol.7 -
@MissMay ...just a few more days ?? Please let us know what your next adventure will be .
I remember being the assistant manager of a US Government gift shop for more than a half dozen years. Inventory at the end of each month to count all the publications [NY Times, etc] and candy-snacks. Missed my first grandchild's birth because counting Famous Amos cookies was more important. At the time I also had my own antique buying/selling/refinishing business. Taking odd days off attached to holidays or weekends was SOOOO frowned upon. Those days were used for antique shows, flea market sales. Using vacation in one or two or three week lumps was the norm. [Moi ?? Normal ??] Every 3 months we counted EVERYTHING in the shop...an entire weekend devoted to counting all the gifts, jewelry, and THOUSANDS of Hallmark cards. All to the tune of my manager's Rap Music...💽...which stressed my nerves WAY beyond their breaking point...Then the directive came down from on high...thou shalt take complete inventory at the end of EACH month. Nope. I just told my manager that I would not be doing that. No discussion. I assumed that I had been heard. The day of the new inventory schedule I presented my manager with my resignation letter and walked out of the building as she was reading it like a Dead Sea Scroll in
her office...The next decade of gypsy antiquing was sublime.
May your next decade be as fulfilling .5
