Good morning, from sunny Northern Ireland. There is some light cloud but the forecast is clear.
@mcmillonmail You’re so right. YouTube is so useful. You can search for any kind of exercise and get loads to choose from.
Rebecca: I hope they get the kitchen finished quickly. The disruption 😫 must be so annoying.
This afternoon I have flower arranging. The girl who does the teas can’t come today so I’m stepping in for her. And I haven’t got my flowers yet as DH did the shopping yesterday it wasn’t on the list. Mind you, I’d rather choose my own flowers 😜
Tomorrow we have our last Latin group before summer break. The group are going out next Thursday for lunch at our local Further Ed College. The catering students run a restaurant on the top floor of the building. The food is excellent. We are having a tasting menu, so looking forward to that.
Tomorrow after lunch is card making, I must post some of the cards I have made so far I’ll take some photos later today.
Have a bright day 🥰

Because the grandchildren are coming tomorrow, I decided to brave the very short walk to the shops around the corner. Ow!Ow!Ow! Horrible pain, despite doubling up on the painkillers.
John is going shopping today , so I didn't have to go, but I knew exactly what I wanted and I love a chat with all our 'village ' shopkeepers. They all know me well.
Got everything, but the butcher had no Scotch Eggs as the supplier has stopped coming out this way as costs are so high. Disaster!! He is looking for a new one to the old standard. Most are not.
I could barely hobble home with my trolley. Found a wall to sit on and asked a builder, who was taking a break, if he could wheel my trolley home for me. He was happy to and we swapped stories of hip replacements.
Phew! Now recovering with a strong coffee.
I won't be doing that again, but I so miss my little chats. Only 3 weeks to go tomorrow.

My friend G is in Paris and is out for a celebration lunch. This is the menu. I'm having the Tartare, Pêche, and Brioche. What are you having?

Heather: I am so jealous of your village. It sounds like a Doc Martin type of place. I watched the 45 minute documentary of Mr. Bates v The Post Office. I have not watched the 4 part mini-series. That is quite a story. Enough to make me decide to continue to keep a paper trail on some accounts! 3 more weeks! I am counting the days for you!
Rebecca: We had men in the house to install flooring a few years ago. They were here just short of a week. I was so exhausted by the end! And I wasn't the one laying the flooring!
Terri: I hope you enjoy your last Latin Group before summer!
GrandMallie: I remember gray, slightly rainy, overcast days on the Cape. Those days can be long but walking on the beach can be fun. Sometimes the waves are great to watch on those days!
Lanette: I hope your A1C is better this month!
Vickie and Lanette and others who mentioned that it is probably best I left the rescue. Yes, I will go one more time next week. I am excited at the idea of being less tired and with less heat exhaustion on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Vickie..I have not thought about planting in garden pots, though I have several pots!
Well I joined a gym where a regular group of ladies gets together for exercise 4 mornings a week. And as luck would have it the long time instructor there age 51 has suddenly resigned. She was well liked. I don't have the full story yet because I was at the rescue. I hope this gym still plans to have this exercise class. This is what I was planning on doing since I was no longer doing the rescue.
I believe I am mostly an introvert. But I might be a borderline extrovert because although I can make ice coffee here at home I am inclined to drive to McDonalds and get their ice coffee. Several of the ladies know me there and just this contact seems to make my day better. Strange how that works! I have a zoom church group at 10:30 and there is a zoom meditation group at 1pm. i have to be careful that I don't totally live a Zoom Life!
For the couple of people that live in GA ..NPR has started an 8 part series on the Athens GA music scene. I believe one episode will be a discussion of the B52's, a group I liked. The NPR show is called World Cafe and this is a series called A Sense of Place. The first episode was last night.

Heather: That looks delicious..I wonder if there is caramel inside?
I wanted to also say that my 3rd order of Nutrisystem came yesterday. This deal required me to buy desserts and snacks. the first order I ate them all in 48 hours. The second order I did better and with this order I plan to throw them all out!
So maybe my diet is improving! Rosemarie from Georgia8 -

Slept like a rock.. well praise the lord..the sun is out and its 56 degrees, lets hope it stays that way..
We will do some running around today and finish it off with a nice meal at Hearth and Kettle .5 -
Hearth and Kettle...I remember that name. I think there use to be one in Falmouth, where my parents hung out in the 90s.

Grandmallie: yes, I looked. The First Hearth and Kettle was in Falmouth. It closed in 2008 because the location was not drawing enough traffic! Rosemarie from GA3

I would find another restaurant.
If I'm reading it right, nothing there is vegetarian, dairy-free, and egg free.
Unless I am very familiar with how a restaurant prepares meat, and unless it is prepared the way I like it, I don't order it. In France, I don't order the meat.
I can handle some dairy all right, but in France, the dairy would be of the heavy cream and soft cheese sort and that would be disastrous.
If there's an egg mixed into a cake, that's OK, but I have a feeling the eggs in a souffle would not be good. I would be risking being nauseated and in a lot of pain all night.

Thursday Highlights
- Worked from home!
- Got quite a bit done at work.
- Napped in the afternoon instead of going for a lunch walk.
- Rained all day! So good to see!
I'm struggling with fatigue for reasons I don't understand. I rarely take afternoon naps, but this is my second in 2 weeks. I'm going to bed slightly earlier on week nights when I have to get up and go to work in the city. I'm going to bed about the same time when I can sleep in an hour and work from home. And I sleep a lot on the weekends.
But if there's any opportunity for me to close my eyes and relax a bit, I'm asleep. I'm regularly falling asleep on the bus, and then there are these afternoon naps!

Heather ... I'm so sorry the pain is worsening. Your surgery can't come soon enough. As for the celebratory meal ... I'd probably go with the Gnocchi, Asperges and any one of those dessert choices. Of course, my high school French has been sorely tested here and I'm not quite sure what all is in each of the dishes ... but hey, if I'm in France, I'm willing to experience something new.
Rosemarie ... I think discontinuing the animal shelter makes sense for you. It served its purpose in its season.
I rarely eat outside of my fasting/eating regimen, but this morning I had a very large loaf of Italian Bread going stale so I made French Toast. That doesn't really sound right does it ... French Toast out of Italian Bread? Anyways, I couldn't help joining my husband for breakfast. It was delicious. I will flash freeze the rest and then package so my guys can enjoy it another morning.
Tomorrow I will be fitted for a new (aka expensive) hearing aid for my left ear that is supposed to pair with the implant on the right ear. Tuesday is the target date to activate the implant. I'm feeling better each day, but still have a lot of sensitivity at the surgical site. Hope that has settled down by next Tuesday as I can't see having equipment rub on it right now.

Good morning ladies!
Heather that souffle looks fabulous!
My morning routine is messed up. Actually, I went out to dinner last night to please my father and my routine got messed up from there. I cleaned my plate even though it was way too much food. Then I stayed up late to avoid reflux, then I slept late. Teddy is so confused!
So my Dad forgot we hired a mowing service and started mowing the back yard. It doesn't matter so much today, but I have to get him trained before it gets hot. I'm not picky about the grass, but I am determined for him to avoid heat stroke. If it were up to me, I would have more of a forest and less grass. The fence is pretty, but that's a lot of maintenance too. Dad used to power wash it.
Dad says he wants to drive to the senior center. I offered to take him but he says no. Hmm. Last time he needed help finding the car to drive home. It's close enough to walk.
Well, I suppose I ought to get out of my pajamas.
May you all have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

My poor pups. We have a very small set of steps with a landing we use instead of the RV steps. We hadn’t moved it yet the first night and DH put Wicket out without tying her. He ‘lost’ her but found her sitting in the middle of the old site on top of the landing sound asleep! Then today, he put her out without tying again and ‘lost’ her again. Found her sitting under the shelter on the old site barking for our attention! LOL
Yesterday, I was walking Brownie and she was done walking and decided she wanted to go ‘home’. She dug her feet in and refused to go to our new site! I had to bring her to the old one and let her sniff around. She discovered no RV or ‘stuff’ so allowed me to walk her to our new site. She adjusted better than Wicket. Poor things. A simple move of 100 feet and their whole world is turned upset down! LOL
I tried full fat yogurt again last night for something different for breakfast and my Colitis pain kicked in and I had to sit, doubled over with stomach pain. I guess I’m going to have to keep a list of what kicks that off now. Can’t drink mild, eat yogurt, eggs, or oatmeal. My choices and becoming limited!! I really need to make a spreadsheet of what I can eat for health and what I can’t b/c of pain or diarrhea.
Life is a challenge these days!

Lanette with those macros, your A1C should be much better. I’m still around 5.1 and want to work towards lowering it down to the 4’s. Happily, it is down from 7! So keep at it!!
Ladies who read my story If you have suggestions for better names for the characters, I’m all ears!Moon of Kevrit
Prologue
The Space Station Intelligence Agency was currently circling the moon of the magnesium farming colony Kevrit. The head of the colony, Elphen, was reported missing by one of the residents. This colony also provides tourist with tours of the farms. It is a remote area with only a few hundred residents. The rest are tourists or here for business. People are scared but not surprised. Elphen was known for his inter-galactic property development and questionable investments. People are being brought to the SSIA for questioning.
Characters:
Whiz-bang (arch enemy) I am an Anglo-galactic whiz-kid turned space tourist. I get called on for all the major inter-galactic problems. When I was young, my main hobby was blasting small meteors with sound waves from my intergalactic pellet gun. I used my computer to calculate where I should aim my gun. Most of the time now I spend just cruising around.
Bytes (Computer) I am Elphen’s computer. I might look middle-aged and self-righteous but I am not psychologically unbalanced like some of my computer predecessors. I enjoy being a computer. To me, tricky calculations and parallel computations are fun rather than a chore. But I don’t just do calculations, I am also the backbone of all his other house and transport devices. They all turn to me for advice. It’s me that tells the lights to turn on when it’s dark and when Elphen sensed entering a room. Elphen bought me over ten years ago via a storm on the Galactanet. He argued with them over the price a bit. But he was happy with me. He said I had the facilities he wanted.
Data Foot—(business woman)I am a very intelligent creature from an outer galaxy. I run a floating help desk and am a technological savior. Shortly after I was born, they tested me for my intelligence quota and I scored 499 out of 500. They discovered that most of my intelligence cells are in my feet, so they nicknamed me Data Foot. Growing up was difficult. My parents wanted me to learn everything I possibly could so I spent all my time studying. My large feet seem to put people off so I don’t have a partner. I concentrate on making money instead.
Plant—-(Magnesium farmer) When I was young, my dad took me to an intergalactic convention on magnesium. I was so excited. There were people there from all over the universe — people like us that lived on moons and mining magnesium. He died when I was young and so I had to take over the business. I do my best to make the farm profitable but it’s a meager living. My mom runs a tour business on the moon. There are about sixty inhabitants on this moon. Mom matched me up with one of her tourists p a purple Sheoate from the bands of Titanus. Our only problem was with me being green and she being purple. But nonetheless, we love each other.
Star—-(Elphen’s Girlfriend) I am an attractive female apparition. When I was born, the galactic suns must have been shining extra brightly, because I turned out to be exceptionally beautiful. My mother entered me in every intergalactic baby and infant contest ever held and I won tons of prize money. I even beat those cuties from the Beauty Galaxy. We were poor, so she tried to make as much money out of me as she could. Now I work as an acting model for the Gala Spacecraft Company. Basically I act in a soapie and they film us in there latest spaceship. I live off this and money accrued from previous now dead husbands. I am a Black Widow.
Iodine - (Elphen’s Towel, female) I was manufactured over twenty years ago. I am designed to last at least fifty years. I am self-cleaning and I can change color to match the decor on on demand by pressing one of my color tags. I was manufactured to the specifications of my owner, Elphen. He wanted a large luxurious soft towel like myself. I am one of the top of the range towels. I have an instant ability to feel warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm. I never become smelly and moldy like some lesser quality towels. I am always dry and soft. Being a towel is a very intimate job. You become very acquainted with your client’s body and sometimes their friends body. I am an intelligent towel and contain memory chips of all I care for. My memory is uploaded to Bytes once a day.
Tears - (activist) They call me Tears but it’s not my fault if I’m always teary. Because of some genetic stuff, I don’t have any eyelashes, so I have to cry all the time to keep my eyes lubricated and cleaned. I was born in the middle of a protest where my parents were both killed when I was still a baby. The intergalactic parent club adopted me and they took care of me. When I grew up, I became a crusader for the downtrodden and started my own activist group. I set up rules to forbid us from helping bad people. We only work on the side of goodness.
Chapter 1
Iodine
Bytes, Whiz-bang, Star, Tears, Plant, Data Foot, Iodine, and Bytes all met in the space kitchen of the SSIA. Brought in by an SSIA law investigative robot, they are at a loss as to why. Iodine tried questioning the robot investigator as to why a mere hygienes robot towel would be brought in, however the investigator only told everyone to wait for further instructions. The dining area was full of patrons, however, they were all SSIA employees. The Moon’s residents look to each other for support and answers. They each take turns explaining who they are and how they could possibly be a suspect. Elphen has disappeared. These residents have no idea where he could be.
Iodine says “Why am I here? Tears, do you need me to wipe away your tears and keep your face dry? After all it is my duty to serve.”
“No thank you Iodine, I’m alright. I have my own means of drying off. The tears simply evaporate, see?”
Towel continues: “I am a robot made to care for the director, family and friends’ hygene. Custom made for Elphen, I tend to his personal needs, from providing drying, to water, steam, instant body heating or cooling as needed, cleaning solutions, smell reducers, and pleasant scents. I provide teeth cleaning, shaves, haircuts, manicures and pedicures as Elphen needs. Personal hygiene is my duty. I was manufactured over 20 years ago and am good for another 30. I am very close to Elphen and listen to his concerns. I am self cleaning, but have begun to falter as Elphen has not had me serviced as of yet. Temperatures, and scents lost their newness. I advised Elphen of this, and am awaiting an appointment. It has been several years since I asked for the appointment.”
“After 20 years of faithful service, I can’t understand why I need to answer these questions. Perhaps, they will download my memory for possible clues. I can’t imaging what they would find. I told the arresting SSIA officer everything I knew. I am a robot and cannot lie. Besides, I upload my memory once a day to Bytes. I was not made for long term memory storage, only daily chores.”
He turns to Tears, “How about you Tears, do you have any ideas as to why you or I would be here? By the way, how DO your tears dry so quickly? It is amazing to me? Do you use a Towel Robot like me? How often do all of you, if you have one, service your Towel Robots? I am curious as to the care I am missing out on.”
Nervously, Tears looks around the table at the others and begins. She starts by wiping her eyes with her arm to see more clearly. She is an activists but does not like being put on the spot.
Chapter 2
TearS
As you all know, my name is Tears. I do not have any eyelashes so my eyes tear constantly to lubricate my eyes. The tears instantly evaporate when they get to my cheeks. The heat of my face dry the tears instantly. I was born at a rally my parents were attending. My mother died giving me life, and my Father died trying to protect my mother and me from the SSIA who were trying to bread up the rally. I was adopted by the Intergalactic Parents Club and taught to always fight for rights. I was taught to defend my beliefs at any cost.
I met Elphen at a rally here on Kevrit. He was trying to inform people of the evils of Magnesium farming, while trying to drum up more tourism. I began as a tourist on this moon, but soon became an advocate for the downtrodden magnesium farmers. The farmers are not treated fairly on this moon and many others. Upon researching this, I found how badly they had been treated and took it upon myself to fight for them.
I argued with Elphen at the rally about the plight of the local farmers and how more tourism would destroy the farmer’s lives. He was all about bringing more money into the community and move everyone to a service economy rather than a farming economy. We parted angrily and I vowed to convert him over to my side. I have not seen him since the rally 3 weeks ago. When we parted, he was healthy and angry!
What about you Plant? I am on your side and want to hear what your ideas are on the debate between farming and tourism. Pant looked around the table at the other suspects then looked down at his drink and shyly began his story.

Yep, I had had enough last night and treated myself to a margarita at the Mexican restaurant husband treated me to. It was a great compliment to my meal, but I had to take Tylenol last night before bed, my head was pounding. I am ok this morning, just being easy on myself though. 👍🏼

Rebecca - it will be nice when it’s all finished. When do they expect that to be?
I’m with you on the simple ingredients, I always seem to be missing something.
Heather - I was a horrible sister to my younger brother, if I could relive childhood I might do that.
I bet that card will be very loved.
Allie - I’ve been thinking about Tracy, hope she gets some answers she can live with tomorrow.
Rainy and cold here today and it seemed everyone was in a bad mood.
Lisa - I hope you enjoyed your peaceful alone day.
Heather - I moved back to butter from margarine almost 10 years ago now. It was because of cleaning my mom’s house out and finding a tub of margarine in the back of cupboard that was so old the ink was worn off of the tub, when I opened it thinking it must be rice or something I was shocked to find “brand new” never used margarine, there was no smell, no oils at the top it looked like you would be able to eat it. I decided it couldn’t be healthy. I think a lot of people are making the move back to foods in their normal states.
I hope the 3 weeks go very fast for you. I can’t imagine having to wait for over a year in this state.
Rosemarie - I was going to suggest pots for your plants as well. I have been doing a lot of that, less weeding involved.
If volunteering becomes a chore I don’t think it’s worth it to do.
I think you visiting and chatting each day is very important, we need human connection.
Debbie - what do you do with all of the tomatoes?
Lanette - I enjoy the Cricut but do seem to go in spurts with it. I can use it for so many different things.
You impress me with running a chainsaw, so do the others on here.
I grew up in “forest land” we only used wood heat and wood was cut and sold for neighbours. I was never taught to do any of it, it was “man’s work”. My grandfather was the one that did that stuff the most and he had very set ideas on what women and men did.
I do remember being allowed to help sharpen the chain though. I poured the oil on and played with the files.
Machka - I would be going to another restaurant as well, however my French is very limited.
I have been suffering from fatigue as well, but I think it’s the noise and movement in the school that I’m getting used to.
When I was done working last year and a previous time when I had been under a lot of stress when things settled down it seemed I could have slept for weeks. You have been carrying a lot of stress since I’ve known you and it seems some of that has left now, your body may just wanting to rest now because it’s not in the fight or flight mode. I bet if you give into the naps without worrying about it you’ll feel so much better in a few weeks.
I have been adding to notes for a couple of days now, I was going to post last night and forgot.
Only 5 more days at this school and then I move onto elementary. I’m going to miss a lot of these kids.
Apparently some of them have younger siblings in the next school I’ll be at.
I have 5 cards designed now, I just need to design a couple more and then I’ll put them together on the weekend.
One good thing about doing these is that it’s kept me busy in the evening and I’m not snacking my way through.

G had the Gnocchi and a dish of the day, which isn't on there, plus the soufflé. According to their website, they do have a vegan menu, Machka.
I slept this afternoon, after my painful walk! But the good news is, the hospital where I'm having the two operations sent me the appointments for the pre- assessments, one by phone and a later one in person. Good news!! I did phone them to sort out a few details and to get an estimate of the fees they are charging. I only have a vague idea. They said they would be in touch soon.
My back is a bit sore from my shopping.

My sciatica is acting up and I mostly think it is because of my bad knee and the stormy weather!
Taking DH to his gastro dr. Friday as it is probable that all his recent health problems are due to very low iron reserves and it may be due internal bleeding. Just hoping they don't put him in the hospital!

almost all of my garden is planted in pots except for the two raised beds. Our soil is so bad. I have at least 20 in the back I think(haven't counted them yet, can't remember from last year). I also have lots of pots in the front and will have more soon as the plants in the green house get big enough to be planted in them. The pots are great- less weeds usually and the extra height of them means you don't have to bend down quite as far.

Tracey- I love fresh tomatoes in a lot of ways. My all time favorite sandwich is a BLT but only with home grown tomatoes. Many get eaten right out there in the garden, same with the cucumbers.
I also make a lot of pico de gallo. I will wait at least another month to plant the cilentro- I usually get a bit ahead of myself and plant it when the tomatoes but then, it is ready long before the tomatoes are and has gone to seed by the time the tomatoes are ready. Need to work on my timing.
I also share with friends. Trying a lot of new varieties this year. Last year, plants were massive but no tomatoes- need to make sure I get tomatoes this year.
I grow large slicing tomatoes, different colored ones and a few types of "cherry" tomatoes. One new one I am excited to try is Tiny Tim- supposed to be really little-perfect for salads but also for sun dried.
