5/12: Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there! Today will be relatively quiet, and I really really want it that way after a couple stressful weeks! Rainy and chilly here (again), so my plan is a yoga class, indoor bike ride and maybe go buy some perennials for my backyard. We're avoiding the "brunch crunch" and going out to dinner tonight at a lovely restaurant right on the ocean- another place we won't go in another month when the summer crowd returns!8 -

NSVs- New Habits since my first Roundโฆ. R 231
1. โ Looking over my MFP history Iโve avg close to 10k steps per day for 8+ mos. Not bad. Itโs no longer a โdaily goalโ because itโs now a healthy habit - ๐๐ป๐คฉ
2. โ Another NSV is I now ๐โโ๏ธ stretch daily and that has improved my attitude & confidence immensely!
3. โ I play ๐พabout 4-5x per week & will continue.
4. โ Z2 ๐avg 60 min/day
5. โ zero to 10g of net carbs per day suits me.
6. โ Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window is noon to 6 PM.
7. โ ๐ฆ80oz daily
HOWEVER: My nemesis is inconsistent ๐๏ธโโ๏ธso that is my focus this round. Im still โskinny-fatโ. I want ๐๏ธโโ๏ธto become a natural habit too! โฆ NSV! ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ20 min per day or 30 min 4x per week. I need to journal๐ and to continue to strive to id unhelpful habits and replace with helpful ones.
Past two months dealing with daily emotional upheaval. This month is pivotal. TBH, Itโs wearing me down. Horrible sleep and intermittent IBS that thankfully has subsided somewhat. Perhaps I should be pleased with a holding pattern but I donโt want to give up. I WONT GIVE UP.
In my dreams, I want to be 130 lbs with a HARD bodyโฆ ๐ But letโs face it, this goal could be unattainable and/or unsustainable, but Iโll give it my best โฆ Itโs a ๐ฅ! I donโt know how long it will take. Also, consuming 110g to 120g of protein per day is not negotiable.
So letโs make R259 MATTER!!

Thank goodness I walked six miles super early before the ever-present emotional issue pressed away the majority of my day - robbing tons of mental and emotional energy. Five hours disappeared. No excuses, the day just got away from me, hence ๐ซ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ. I only mention this because stress impacts our choices & healthโฆ I just couldnโt function wellโฆ I can tell my body is holding on to stuff. Itโs not flowing. Iโm super puffy. Crazy reaction to stress. My eating & ๐ฆ was good yesterday. I slept OK last night because I took an ibuprofen p.m.โฆ
I realize now first-hand that one never truly knows what someone is going through behind the scenesโฆ Tough love is truly tough. I want to make good choices throughout this time... Today, Iโll fake it till I make itโฆ through Godโs love, grace and mercy.

Goals for this round; to lose! To be consistent and lose something; to get back into the 130s, should be able to break that 140 barrier now! Strive to have a feeding frenzy free round๐. Good luck everyone for success.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, itโs taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

5/6 DNW โ travel back home this afternoon. 14.41 miles walked yesterday to Chatsworth House and Estate, glorious weather, brilliant day. Less than 25% exercise calories eaten back. Been thinking about the missive I wrote yesterday about DH, I really need to take motivation & inspiration from him, going to really make this round count.
5/7 139.6 โ (trend 140.8) woohoo!! Really pleased with this number, now to remain under 140 & even improve on it. Got out just after 8 yesterday for a walk before we headed home, 9.75 miles walked, 12% exercise calories eaten back.

@deepwoodslady OMG, too funny. I am just putting in today's post (the day after) and yes, the bread ended up being an overage decision I made. That and splitting a Thunder Down under, which I pointed out to our waiter is the name of a group of male strippers in Las Vegas. He did not know and found it hilarious. BTW, on the bread, the butter is the best part. I think they add extra salt to their butter. It is VERY compelling.6 -

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two โkidsโ, who are very much adults, a two grandsons. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an โall in or notโ person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my motherโs care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Today will have its own challenges as well (brunch at SILโs and then bringing coffee and cookies to mom in the afternoon). I should be able to handle well as public buffets are not my issue (closet binger) and the cookies will be from Whole Foods with calories and barcode for tracking. I really need to start back into daily exercise. Something to work on this week.

May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still have a looooooooonnnng way before reaching my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real!At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.

Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. ๐ฅณ Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.8 -

5/10 216.2 today's weight filed under "things I don't understand". Yesterday was quite a bit over calories. I took my husband for a medical appointment. He wanted breakfast afterwards... I didn't do terribly at breakfast but I worked the remainder of the day at home. Weather was gloomy and I just kept eating...wasn't hungry....cashews, cookies, protein stick, chicken bites, chocolate. It's like my mouth just needed something to do. I guess it will all show up tomorrow. ๐ง๐ถ๐ฝ

Tomorrow will be out in celebration of Motherโs Day so I will have to watch what I am doing today. 05/12 -185.4- (Trend weight185.4) We are driving out to a restaurant on Lake Huron today which is a bit of a drive. The water should be lovely because of our beautiful blue skies today and the Motherโs Day Buffet will be delish. I expect the scale will go up tomorrow but I can handle it. Iโm going to wear sandals that I can remove and walk along the waterโs edge. I have a house full of fresh flowers thanks to the kids. I feel so grateful and appreciated! Happy Motherโs Day everyone!

5/09 - 177.0 - So I didn't get out of the 177.x range but happy with this drop. NSV - my pants are a wee bit looser (I've been watching too much Shetland on Britbox), and my complexion is looking better due to drinking more water and exercising. YAY!
Adding to my post - I forgot, another NSV is I was this close to making an apple nobby cake yesterday as I lied to myself that I would be able to handle it and only eat one piece. Ha! I've lied to myself too many times and maybe, just maybe, I'm finally being able to make myself stop and know it just isn't true. I cannot handle it being in the house - period!! And sugar makes me feel like sh#^ so I'm really glad today that I didn't.
5/10 - 176.8 - Hopefully 177.X is gone for good. I've officially lost 5 pounds since I came back to this forum. Some of it was water weight in the beginning. Onward to my next 5 pounds!

@SheilaBoneham - I have to admit, I've never heard of red lentil or black bean pasta. We've been experimenting with no-wheat options when baking, with pasta, etc. Where do you buy your red lentil or black bean pasta?

Well my informal survey results donโt reveal much. At first I thought app users were getting the preference thing but not browser users but itโs a mixed result. It is annoying and along with that, TWC changed their app so I have to figure out how to get the information that used to just pop up. Iโm ready to resign from the world. It 74 I do not embrace all of this technology.
On top of that, I have forgotten about the Northern Lights and gone to bed at a reasonable hour. Maybe tonight? Can they overpower the lights of Las Vegas?

I hope it's ok to join this a little bit late. I am coming back from a huge binge relapse... I returned from vacation and there was so much I couldn't do because of my weight. I am ashamed and scared. I know I need to do something about it. So here I am, wanting to try a challenge and this sounds simple enough!

I don't have too many more days for this round, so I don't have much that I can aim for necessarily. What I am going to focus on between now and the next round is planning meals, making sure I stick within my calories for the day, and drinking water more rather than the sugar-free pop that I am consuming way too much of. I'm also going to try and find my old fitbit so I can be pushed to move around a little more- even if it's just by an extra few hundred steps and work my way up!
I would love to be around 385lb by the end of the month. But I am not going to focus too much on the number on the scale.
Hi @yodaloo88 About 7 years ago, I was drinking tons of diet-coke (and adding lemon to it). And, hand-in-hand with the sweet diet coke, I ate bags of salty, greasy chips. I didn't eat any sugar, just the diet coke. I stopped cold turkey because of stomach surgery 7 years ago. Once I stopped, I could not believe how many of my cravings stopped. I don't know if it's the caffiene, the sugar substitute, habit, or what, but I swear it's addictive. I just had to have it. It's great that you're concentrating on replacing it with water.
