Did a Reebok Bootcamp DVD then went for a walk around the neighborhood. Came home and made chocolate bran muffins. It’s not windy so I’ll probably work on stringing popcorn (yes, it’s that time of year!)
Walked to Dollar General Friday to get some towels to make the crochet towel toppers. They were ½ price (and $1 each regular price). So Sat. after work stopped there and got more and some for us. At that price, even if they last only a few weeks, it’s worth it
Allie – do you REALLY think you’ll be able to get back to sleep. Ah...dreamer you are
Heather those sunglasses will look fantastic on you. So sorry about your SIL, but it sounds like the breakup was for the best
Went to dinner with the train group last night. The food was “ehhhh”, I wouldn’t go back there. There were about 20 of us, they only had one server, and he had to wait on 3 other tables, too. Even Vince commented that none of the servers were smiling. Plus, they forgot about my meal so everyone got there's, one guy and myself had to wait. Plus, the chicken was very rubbery, the sauce wasn’t that good. Disappointing, to say the least
Got the rest of the ceramics put out yesterday except for the seven dwarfs. But I know exactly where they’re going. I’ll probably do that today.
Rita – I do hope your daughter continues to call you
All the pictures of the Northern Lights are so pretty.
Happy Mothers Day to all who celebrate!
Heard from my friend in Switzerland. That sanitarium has been good for her. She actually no longer feels that she doesn’t want to live. Plus..she’s talking about coming to the states. Will it happen? I doubt it to be honest. But it’s good that she’s talking about it
Sue in WA – where did you find the landscaping student? How’s it going with that horrible ex-renter?
Beth – you are so good to your mother! How’s the vertigo going? Still have it?
Carol – Good luck to your your granddaughter! We usually have breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Debbie – so glad the show was such a success
Lanette – when Vince had his tibial plateau fracture, the way he went up the stairs was on his butt.
Need to figure out my exercise for next week, get dinner for me ready, then start stringing the popcorn.

Glad I heard from everyone except DMD already today and it’s only 9:45 am here. Nice way to start the day. Called my Mom too, who was in a good mood too. Very nice morning. I hope all the mothers (pet moms too) have a great day today! DH is making me leg of lamb. Nice treat! He is such a good cook. He cooks all the time for us (lunch/dinner) and I am never disappointed. Campground busy this weekend, half the park is closed for construction, the other half is full and LOTS of kids this weekend! I bet beach will be full later as well. Everyone goes to the park for Mother’s Day! LOL ☺️

about ready to go to church- second load of laundry in the washer, dishes done that didn't get done yesterday(we were gone ALL day).
Dh woke up in a mood-mummbling about what he is going to get yelled at for when he gets to his mom's. I told him I had fed all the inside cats- his response- "I don't care". He came out of the shower and said "we(meaning me), needs to do laundry". Those are the only two things he has said. I have talked to him a few times but got no response at all. He left when I was putting the second load of laundry in. Doesn't say anything when he leaves most of the time now.
So, church by myself and then hopefully work in my garden a bit if it isn't too hot- 76 is the forecast.
Son is with his girlfriend so they will be gone most of the day I am guessing.
Not sure what I will cook for dinner- will figure that out later.
Dh usually doesn't do anything for me on Mother's Day because "I am not HIS mother"-

Well, I'm still grumpy. My mother died last December and my daughter won't speak to me. My dad won't even wish me a happy mother's day. He bought flowers and put them on the table next to his picture of mom.
So I bought myself two books and a tee shirt from Amazon. 😊

Annie- don't forget, Teddy wishes you a Happy Mother's Day and appreciates you and thanks you for being his momma every day of the year!
Several years ago my friend T starting giving me "Happy Mother's Day from the Dog" cards with some flowers. This year the card was from the dog, the cat and the hens. So why not?
And we wish you a Happy Mother's Day even if none of your relatives do.
Debbie - same for you. Your son and your kitties appreciate and thank you. And wish you a Happy Mother's Day every day of the year!

Michelle - renter is gone and has been for a short while, left in the middle of the night. We sent a letter to her dad who paid her 1st month's rent, deposit and cleaning fee as we don't have a forwarding address for her, listing why he would not be getting deposit back. Septic is still not repaired as it costs a lot and since she did not pay rent for 3 months we do not have the money. Kind of a catch 22 as we cannot rent it until repairs are made.
Landscaping student was temporary Christmas help at warehouse DD manages. That is how we got to know him. Nice guy, does a good job, but planning on moving out of the area.
DS is planning to call this afternoon.

Last night I was able to chat with middle son though he didn't mention anything about happy mothers day. I will give him a pass as he was busy with Athena's birthday day.💖👍🏼😁. Her official party is next weekend though. Then eldest son clicked on group chat so I was able to visit with him before the Navy has him go out on another fishing trip. He looked good. He wished me an early Happy Mothers day. Made me teary eyed!
Today my youngest clicked on me and we chatted. Its been years since I have been able to have him do that. Best thing ever!
Nice little collage off Athena's birthdays💖👍🏼
Made soup today, my present to myself. Then having some Lefse that I ordered for dinner.😁💖
Hugs ladies!

Update: So much for stringing popcorn. Vince has decided that we should cut the grass. Hopefully, it won’t be windy Tuesday (tomorrow is bowling and then ceramics)
Only heard from Jess today. No missed calls so I know Denise didn’t call while we were out cutting the grass.

Debbie - congratulations on the sales.
Heather - it must feel good to have written a few words.
Love the sunglasses!
😂 Max’s “exacerbating the situation” at least he’s aware of it.
Barbara - if your skies are clear there are supposed to be more lights tonight. I won’t be staying up tonight to see them. It very rare that they happen to fall on a night I can stay up late.
Machka - what a view!
I bet you’re very anxious to get moved in.
Lisa - it’s nice when our loved ones can see our homes and understand how our days normally go.
My SIL’s sister was/is a big fan of Corner Gas, their parents took them to the location in Saskatchewan for a summer holiday at one time.
I enjoyed that show too.
Lanette - I had a couple of friends that lived in split level homes, I never really thought they were practical even when young.
Michele - I don’t think I would enjoy the stringing of the popcorn. We did it twice when the girls were young and it was a miserable task for me.
Annie - I think you’re allowed to be grumpy today.
Debbie - Rodger has that same opinion, but today he said we would go out for supper Thursday or Friday to celebrate since he works tonight. This will be the first year in probably 15 that he has suggested something. I think he has heard me the last few years though when I told him he wasn’t my father on Father’s Day, I always get him a card at least though.
I keep a running note that I just add to throughout the day, this morning when I started it I was feeling quite grumpy myself. Lauryn and the kids had been out yesterday so I knew I wouldn’t see them today, Rodger was sleeping, when the race wasn’t on, I had to do laundry, so nothing special.
Then I got a text from two younger people in my life wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day, and a text from Kaitlyn asking if I had plans as she would like to come for a short visit.
She brought me a little succulent in a cute little pot. I’ll post a pic.
So my day turned around and then Rodger mentioned supper and I ended up having a great day. Oh and Cheryle my BF that was here in April took her Mom’s gift to her from us that I had painted, so I had a FaceTime with her too.
I missed talking to my Mom and Rodger’s Mom, Kaitlyn was here at the peak time to call mine and I tried Rodger’s mom a couple of times and there was no answer.
I finished the cards I’ve been working on except for the sentiment, but I’ll do that tomorrow night.
I’m off to watch Idol, it’s Disney night.

Thanks Tracey. The great sale has pumped dh up so now he is pushing to do more. My goal before we went was $900 which he thought was really high for a one day, 6 hr show. We doubled it, to the dollar!!
Now we have 5 printers going again and he has ideas on things to change on his Godzillas to bring in more profit by adding lights to more of them. Those that had the lights sold pretty quick except for his biggest one- that has lights/sound/remote control, etc. His smaller one that has the lights but not sound sold to a repeat buyer from another show. I need to go through the bags and really do an updated inventory- see what we need to make more of and what we have plenty of. I do know some of the things that we sold out on. Working on them first plus he is finding new files(baby pig is the one he is downloading the file for now).
Got to work in the front garden this afternoon. Felt great to get more plants out of the greenhouse and into pots. Some weren't really big enough but they haven't been growing in the green house.
If they do even decently, I will have tons of peppers and tomatoes.
Checked my dragonfruit plants and most have new growth showing up on them.
Need to finish the weeding and chain saw the juniper in the back this week so the rest of the plants can go it.
Made a simple kielbasa/celery/potato/onion "hash" tonight. No one else ate- son and his girlfriend ordered pizza for themselves, dh I guess ate at his mom's-hasn't mentioned being hungry but I am sure he will snack on something after I put the food away. Chips and dip or another doughnut most likely(yep, great choice for a diabetic)
I will call mom in a bit, have to wait until after dark or she will still be outside working in the yard somewhere.

This is the little plant Kaitlyn bought me.
Then I was just sitting here and get a text from Brodey. He keeps his feelings pretty close to the vest and for the longest time I thought he just put up with me for Kaitlyn’s benefit, but he sent me a beautiful text this evening.

Good morning ladies:
Busy group while I have been gone. Coference in Columbus went well-very smooth for such a large event actually. We are fortunate to have an excellent coordinator-the rest of us just follow the script!
I have caught up on reading. Happy to not find any major issues the last few days!
Heather-love Max's apology to John.
Annie-it probably doesn't occur to your father he should recognize you as a mother. I think it is touching that he brought the remembrance for your mother. He is finding his way through the grieving process. The first year is especially tough.
Lisa-sounds like great visit with your friend. It is wonderful to reconnect.
Allie-hope the current plan for Tracy and babies stays on course. Scary times but it is amazing what they can do. Has she decided about working after babies are born?
Debbie-sounds like a most successful sales day!
Sue-I wonder if you will have any response from your former renter's father. You wonder if parents are aware of such behavior.
Well, I had more thoughts but those are all that are coming to me right now. Off to get stretches in. Want to get to office early to start catch up from being gone.
Take care all,

I do love that view too. That's the direction we were looking when we saw the Aurora Australis too.
We stayed there 2 nights this past weekend ... with our camping gear! And with Rhody.
But there's lots of work ahead of us. If all goes well, the floor will be done next week.We had a bit of an adventure getting a quote ... nevermind getting the floor done. We contacted 2 places, one came on time, but they didn't have the type of flooring we wanted. The other left us standing around, then finally texted that she was running late and couldn't make it that night but gave us another time. At that time, we waited and waited, and I texted, and finally I got a response and she came over to do the measurements, about an hour and a half late. We went to the show room, chose a flooring, chatted with her and she told us that she'd have the quote the next day. That was April 8.
On April 24th, I emailed about 5 flooring places to find out if they could give me a quote. 2 responded that they'd get right back to me. I haven't heard from them yet. 1 actually responded to me, we popped into the show room on the 26th and picked a flooring, they came and measured the place when they said they would the following week, and we got a quote that same day.
Oddly enough (haha), we went with the company that responded to us! We still have to get the floor done, so we'll see. But so far so good.
I have to presume the rest of them aren't interested in new business.
Once the floor is done, we paint.
Meanwhile, our new shed has been delivered but it needs to be built. As it happens, we're finally getting much needed rain which is great ... but it kind of gets in the way of building a shed. Also, it takes my husband a while to sort out what needs to be done. I keep trying to encourage him to walk me through what he's got in mind, but he can't.
I've been a bit worried about him because he was asking me the same things over and over during the weekend. Hmmmm ...
I'm edging ever closer to wishing I had a magic wand to wave and get it all done.
Monday Highlights
- completed a document I wanted to finish today
- figured something out in TEAMS
- got my flu shot

Good morning ladies!
Thank you Lanette, Lisa, Tracey and Ginny. I'm feeling a little better today. 😊 I read a romance book by Laura Griffin. She manages a wonderful blend of light thriller ( not gory or upsetting) with light romance.
Machka so exciting to have a new house! Hope the flooring goes well.
Heather I love the new sunglasses!
Debbie enjoy your gardening!
Have a fabulous day! May you all be happy healthy safe and free!

Machka - The move must be stressful for your husband, with all the new things to learn. It's a bit of overwhelm. Saying that, it may be temporary, or may be long-term. You are right to pick up on it.
I wrote 75 words this morning. More than yesterday.
Usual aches and pains and trouble sleeping. John is going out to get the battery changed on my watch for me. It's got a lifetime battery guarantee, so doesn't cost anything. He will also get a refill for the soda stream and some aspirin. I would have called in at a couple more places, but I can see that he gets frustrated if I ask too much.
The window cleaner came today, the regular cleaner is coming this afternoon, and we have a Waitrose delivery later. At some point I will make meatballs, but the beef and pork mince is taking a while to defrost.
Looking forward to grabbing a nap. I washed my hair and put my face on this morning, which helps my mood. I didn’t bother over the weekend, with John out, but I start to sink.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx6 -

Hello, my dears, from the once-again grey and drizzly spring morning of the Arkansas River Valley 🌧️☔,
It was a tremendously productive weekend for both of us, with both mowing and trimming on Saturday. 👩🏼🌾👨🏼🌾 Sunday, I did house things while Corey burned a tremendous amount of the piled-up brush and cleared another bit of land. 🔥 He cleared the room to give us some space to get to an old and tattered and useless stretch of fence so we can pull it all out and get it in the dumpster next weekend. Then it will be time to have them pick it up and haul it off.
I didn't think it was a big deal at the time, but Saturday, while I was mowing the ditch in front of the house, I slid down a slanted bit and landed hard on my tailbone. Shook it off, genuinely not a lot of pain after, just a little ouchy. This morning I feel as if I did a thousand sit ups yesterday. All the muscles in my core must have engaged in the fall. It will pass... but hard to bend or stoop or lift anything.
With the rain, I'm inside today anyway, so back to my quilt. I will start today free-motion quilting the individual "shelves" of the bookshelf quilt. Woke up with the thought in mind of what to applique into the only blank spot, an ornate letter "V" for my niece, Vivyan. She was named after my mother, and born on her birthday, and I'm making the quilt for her.
Fascinating, no? 😁 Okay, no, probably not... just my life, and you're welcome to it. Other than the ouchy core, I'm feeling really well. Only a half pound heavier than last Monday, ⚖️, and considering that I had guests all week, I'm quite pleased I didn't gain five pounds! We ate a lot, or it certainly seemed like we did, it was many more set meals than I usually eat.
Happily, my resting heart rate is down to 74 beats per minute. 💓 Before all the biz with my heart, I stayed in the 50s and 60s. Four years ago, it edged up into the mid-90s, so getting the anemia under control and now the continued yoga and yard work is really making a difference. I'm not naturally a patient person, but my body is determined to teach me patience, apparently. Why do the bad things always seem to happen fast and the good ones require so much time and attention and effort? 🤔🤗 Lordie.
Anyway, off to my doings, hope it's a good day and a good week for all,
Love from the damp green spaces,
Lisa in AR6 -

I worked the entrance booth for the park a couple hours yesterday. Everyone was nice and about 1/2 of them wished me a happy Mother’s Day! Lots of families. Good crowd. So far nothing like last year where we had the police and/or ambulance here every weekend. Glad of that. Word got out that we have a law enforcement ranger here now who is strict. I like this kid! He has a wife and 2 children, and is a hard worker. Nothing like the superintendent who I can’t believe hasn’t been fired yet!
My DMD didn’t text but her husband did text me Happy Mother’s Day. It probably was her using his phone, but whatever, it made my day. I heard from all my kids and sibs, mom too so the first time in years I heard from all of them on Mom’s Day. DH was even in a good mood all day and made leg of lamb, sautéed baby broccoli, spiced carrots, and garlic bread. I did not log. LOL I also had some coffee flavored ice cream for dessert.
For our meals, the big meal is dinner now, so breakfast, dinner, snacks. Growing up it was breakfast, lunch, and supper. Dinner was special meals like Sunday dinner or Easter dinner.
Have a great Monday everyone. (I’ve got to work on my story! I haven’t had time but don’t want to stop!)
