Yesterday, I didn't post. I went to the gym in the morning and then did a treadmill session. The run was a run/walk for 4/2 min at 5.0/4.0 mph. Not too bad.
Today, after dropping Tippy off for a long stay (14 days) at the boarding facility, and mom and I getting haircuts, I did a mile wun on the driveway. I didn't have time for much, because I still had to pack for the weekend of tennis.
Wish my team luck for the weekend....2 matches tomorrow, 2 on Saturday, and one on Sunday morning.

It wasn't stormy when I got up, so I ran 2 miles this morning. It did storm about 30 minutes after I got home, but it was pretty nice when I was out. I am planning to rest tomorrow and then Saturday will be my race.
Thanks @quilteryoyo ! And good luck on your tennis this weekend!

(no I am not, but's fun to run)9 -
Morning all.
Got in 6.3M (at 09"56).
Yesterday turned into an unexpected heavy one. Went to see 'Book of Mormon' at the theatre yesterday. Ended up having a couple before; one at the interval and one after... Before soaking up a German Doner Kebab... Followed by a ginormous pistachio gelato.8 -
Good luck this weekend @quilteryoyo and @kgirlhart!
@tarun_yadavA - Beautiful photo of the city. The gelato must be as good as it looks seeing the line for it. With all the running that you are doing, a treat is deserved!4 -
Good luck this weekend @kgirlhart!
I hope tennis goes really well for you @quilteryoyo.
Great job on your run @chris_in_cal!
Thanks for calling me out on the brownies @TheMrWobbly! I need that kind of kick in the butt to keep me on track 😂😂. Weight loss has stalled since those brownies popped into my cupboard.5 -

Had a good run this morning & then got out my sewing machine which I’m not very good with & took in 4 of my dresses which were too loose under the arms so nice relaxing day6 -
A run happened today. 20 miles and 2.5 walk at the end, 2,500ft of climbing. Not a great experience. Inclines were too steep to run, some downhills were to steep and muddy to run. I did see others running up the hills and they were all about half my weight so maybe that is what I should work on.
Two day of travelling coming up so good to get that in.

Just checking in. I've been speaking and working the last few ways at a training conference we organized for a group from several Caribbean countries. It has been exhausting but super rewarding. Long days have meant no running but my watch keeps telling me I need rest days. I guess not a lot of "exercise" but I'm on my feet all day and probably a bit stressed, though I'd say stressed in a good way.
One week until the HM. I'll prob try to get one more longish run this week. Not worrying about a taper because I'm not racing. Just need to not be super tired the day of.7 -
@TheMrWobbly Impressive run, even if it wasn't fun at the time.
Maybe we'll find out how @kgirlhart did at possum kingdom tomorrow.4 -
Nice NSV @mari333a .
WOW. Great run @TheMrWobbly ! Beautiful pictures. Enjoy your trip and safe travels.
@martaindale I won't still her thunder, but @kgirlhart did great, according to her post in my news feed.5 -
Two more tennis matches today and it was hot and humid. My court lost both, but the first was close. Second set went to a tie breaker. The second we were whipped, but I was happy that we won two games against them... after another rain delay, starting outside and then having to move indoors. One more match tomorrow morning.7

Thanks @teresa502, @daria0919, @mari33a, @martaindale & @quilteryoyo. Here is my race report.
Possum's Revenge Race Report
The weather was really nice for the race today. The 8 mile race started at 8:00 and Possum' Kingdom Lake is about 45 miles away, so I left about 6:15. I realized about 25 minutes into the drive that I had forgotten my headphones. But they discourage using them anyway so I figured that it would be OK. (It really was. I probably wouldn't have used them if I had remembered them.)
They had staggered the starts of the different distances starting at 6:00 and so there were already people running when I got there. I had plenty of time to check in and pick up my bib and shirt and timing chip and use the restroom before the pre-race briefing. Everything was well organized and the course was well marked. The trail was pretty and seemed to have a good mix of technical and not too technical. (At least for me. This was my first time trail running. I did practice a lot on some dirt roads and there is a hill at the Frisbee golf course at the park that was really good practice for this trail. They also added a sand volleyball court recently and I have run around that some too.) I always felt a little silly, but I was glad I practiced running on sand.
The race was a loop, but started and ended the same, and the first and last part were sandy. The sand wasn't so bad on the way out, but it felt really tough at the end of the race.
I felt really good running. I didn't check my pace very often. I was just trying to stay focused and not fall. Strava says it was 68°f at the beginning and 78°at the end. Garmin says 66°. It was really nice. It did warm up, but there was a lot of shade so the heat wasn't an issue. And it was a beautiful day. I really loved the course. There were a few places that I had to walk up or down some rocky spots. But I ran most of the way. When I got to the finish the volunteer told me to wait because she thought I was the 1st masters female, but they needed to verify it. I was really excited. I thought there were 3 or 4 other women ahead of me, and I knew one was much younger than me but I wasn't sure about the others. It turns out I was the female masters winner. I was 5th female finisher and 15th overall. I finished in 1:47.22. It was really a lot of fun and I got a cool medal and a 1st place coaster.9 -

Morning all.
Got in 6.3M (at 10"11 pace).
Real struggle today. Slept late. Slept awful.9 year old wanted to stay awake (beyond midnight) to watch the Heavyweight 🥊 title fight. Argued with the wife no end (who wanted to enforce some semblance of a bed time).
Anyways... He made it to the ring walks.
Round 1.
Look over....
C'monnnn. You're killing me.
By the end of it. I had a roommate and couch sharing buddy
So I slept like 💩
Anyways...
@kgirlhart well done on your race! 🙌🏽
@quilteryoyo nevermind about the second defeat... Sounds a real killer in that heat! So well done!
@chris_in_cal welcome to Strava!
@martaindale any Caribbean food ? Lol. Love Trini and Jamaican street food8 -

Yesterday, I ran 5 miles before heading to Damascus, VA (about an hour from my house) for Appalachian Trail Days. It’s a huge festival for current and past thru-hikers. It rained most of the time we were there but I got to meet a couple of YouTubers that I’m currently watching and saw several that I followed last year plus got to visit the ATC and lots of vendor booths. As soon as I finished my run yesterday, a friend texted and wanted to run trails today, so I said sure. We ran 9 miles on the hills of Clinch Mountain State Park. We did two loops and climbed 1,048 feet. The trail was extremely muddy and slippery from recent rains. There were some geese down at the bottom near a small lake that had babies. We had a hard time passing by one mama. She was hissing and would start chasing us every time we tried to pass. Finally she got her babies far enough out of the way so that we could get by without getting pecked or flogged or whatever geese do.
Nice long run yesterday @TheMrWobbly! Gorgeous views from the top.
@kgirlhart all your training paid off! Congratulations on being top female masters winner! I have to admit that race shirt is just a little scary though!
