@musicsax Those kids are darling. Lucky you!
@Chapter_3 I think a lot of us can relate to the social anxiety issue. It can feel exhausting and I think a lot of people hide it well.
@UTMom81 You are fortunate to have a very wise physician! Congratulations and great work keep it up!
@jspecies11 May I ask what national park you live near?! Such a wonderful benefit! And yes, I am so glad I attended the funeral… I went early and was able to visit uninterrupted with his widow and family. It was a wonderful experience, but I sweated so much! 😂 Glad I went.
@quiltingjaine What beautiful photos! Love both! Definitely a match made in heaven!
@musicsax DGC are beautiful! So much joy in one photo!

@UTMom81 I love hearing about doctors who support low carb! Our doctor seems to push drugs - not the habit forming kind. My cholesterol was borderline and he wanted to put me on a statin, DH’s is fine and doc prescribed Lipitor even though DH said he had had it and it had made him sick. So doc ordered it anyway and DH told the pharmacy not to fill it. 6 months later doctor said it was “working” and DH’s cholesterol was better. I have refused to have an appointment with him and went to his NP last month. We’ll see how that goes at next visit.4

How did I miss your anniversary? Was it at the end of last round?! happy late anniversary and I hope y’all had a wonderful celebration 🥂 Cheers!
Thank you! 54 years hardly seems possible! I honestly don’t remember mentioning it and it isn’t in my saved post on my phone. It was on Friday. It was just 2 days ago. Here’s a picture from November, 1969. We had been dating for about 3 weeks.
And 50 years later - December, 2019
@quiltingjaine OMGosh how beautiful, these comparison pics. I have to admit, I shed a few tears. I am so happy for you both!7 -

05/16 -186.8- (Trend weight 186.0)
05/17 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW)
05/18 -187.4- (Trend weight 186.2) I’m posting very late today due to such a busy schedule today which started with my two older DGS haircuts today. They are both in high school and I’ve been taking care of that since they were basically born. Afterward was fast food out for them, none for me. I’m not exactly crazy about McDonalds and that is what they wanted since there isn’t one in their small town. Scale is up yet again. I ended up eating a bowl of Campbell’s Vegetable soup with about 8 crackers last night when I got real hungry. I haven’t had Campbell’s soup in quite a few years. I thought it would be better than snack junk but apparently not. Lots of sodium I’m sure. I did get on the exercise bike for 33 minutes last night so that is a plus. Today has been good so far. I hope I can keep the food to a minimum and be extra mindful of my night time snack until it’s shut-eye time.
05/19 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) I know what I’ve done right but I also know what I’ve done wrong. Gosh, I feel the gains of the past few months in my clothes and I hate it. It feels like a huge dry forest burning out of control. I know my little buckets of water will never put it out. I’ve got to stay the course and do more. It feels like I’m overwhelmed and fighting a losing battle right now, when all I really have to do is turn on the hose and consistently put out the flames. It’s not hopeless, even if it feels like it is right now.

@musicsax Spending the day in a theme park with you DGC sounds like so much fun!! Are all four your grandchildren? They are so cute - love the hat the boys are wearing!
Yes I am lucky that all four are my DGC, the boys are brothers and both red heads which is why they in particular need sun hats . The girls are sisters, the youngest (almost 3) refused to wear her sun hat because she wants one like her cousins's !! I bought her one last year, but this summer it doesn't fit her; I have been to buy her a bigger one today, she will be very happy when I see her again on Thursday lol .7 -
@quiltingjaine - what lovely photo's of you & DH, so nice to put faces to names. I know what you mean about the number of years passing so quickly and it not seeming possible, before you know it it will be another year !!4

@SheilaBoneham - gorgeous clematis, beautiful colours, gardening is so therapeutic, keep enjoying it.5

@deepwoodslady - I can empathise with how you feel, I've been there too many times than I care to admit to. Take a deep breath, think about how you've been successful in the past and start again. You can do this - look how far you have come in the past, don't be too hard on yourself, draw a line under it now and re-energise yourself to restart, don't let it go any further. I have great faith in you, I'm routing for you to get where you want. Sending you loads of hugs to start you on your way .6

@deepwoodslady
I cant add one thought to the above support from @musicsax. Just make a decision and DO IT. I went through a major depression in the early 90s and I went days not getting out of bed & my mother told me “Just stay in bed till you can’t stand it anymore”. That was great advice. I turned it around a few days later cuzz I was sick of the bed - and never looked back. Adopt your “170’s” identity and turn this ship around! You will do it when you are ready… I believe in you, too!!!

🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 260 (my 190th). So grateful @Quiltingjaine for another round.
Goals for this round; to lose! To be consistent and lose something; to get back into the 130s, should be able to break that 140 barrier now! Strive to have a feeding frenzy free round😊. Good luck everyone for success.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

SW RND 260
5/16 140 – (trend 140.3) 10.75 miles walked, all exercise calories eaten back.
5/17 141.6 – (trend 140.5) no structured walking, child minding little DGS.
5/18 140.8 – (trend 140.5) 8.24 miles walked, just over ¾ exercise calories eaten back
5/19 140.4 – (trend 140.5) no structured walking, 400 calories over. Spent the day at theme park with little DGC & their parents, so on our feet all day, we all had a brilliant day! Special memories >3
5/20 140 – (trend 140.4) 15.21 miles walked, but to be honest the last 2 or so miles were gardening ones! Planting, weeding, re-siting some plants and watering, less than 25% of exercise calories eaten back. Half way through the round & at the end of last round weight.

@fmfdfa2020 I’m going to try that trick for restless leg. I go through bouts of it and usually will walk up and down the stairs a few times- unfortunately I often walk down to the kitchen to have a snack.
@quiltingjaine I can feel the love! Also your hubs has great hair!!!
@SheilaBoneham I garden for hours and hours and forget to eat. There’s just so much to be done and it’s so rewarding. Your clematis is beautiful!!6 -

5/20 178.6 surprised by this as I wasn’t particularly active yesterday. DH and I took a nice boat ride up the Hudson, we were scoping out spots to watch fireworks this summer. Decided to go a bit further to dock for lunch and had the pleasant surprise of stumbling onto Troy’s River Fest. Could not have planned a better day if we had tried!!!
I ate a bunch of street food but it was all very small portions.8 -
@SheilaBoneham I love it when you share your gardening pictures. It must be really special in person.
@musicsax Those grands are just adorable! Aren't they the very best part of life?
@quiltingjaine LOVE those pics of you and your hubby before and now. What a treasure those are! Hope you have them both framed and sitting near one another somewhere. Priceless! Best wishes for many more wonderful years together. What a horror story about your DH and those prescribed drugs. Hope you can both find a better doctor.
@fmfdfa2020 I used to do the wall sit thing before my knees couldn't take it any more. It does work! But yes, I think the secret is making those muscles tired before going to bed or when you have an episode. Walking up the stairs repeatedly is a great idea, too, as someone else said (sorry, I can't find that post now to save me!)6 -
@_JeffreyD_ Request: Please post photos of your SMOKED CUISINE served @ your big family day tomorrow. Let’s all relish and delight in your labor of love and I want to smell it from here!😱🥰

👇🏻Review since my first R231
1. ✅Avg. close to 10k steps per day for 8+ mos. Not bad. It’s no longer a “daily goal” because it’s now a daily healthy habit - 👏🏻🤩
2. ✅Healthy Habit: 🙆♀️ I stretch daily and that has greatly improved my attitude & confidence.
3. ✅HH: I play 🎾about 4-5x per week.
4. ✅HH: Z2 💕avg 60 min/day
5. ✅HH: zero to 10g of net carbs/ day
6. ✅🥩MAD 110-120g Protein (Mostly Animal Diet-CLEAN)
7. ✅HH Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window=noon to 6PM.
8. ✅💦80oz daily
9. ✅Alcohol limited to rare occasions.
Tremendous progress since last July, but still “skinny-fat”. I want 🏋️♀️to become a healthy habit too. … 🏋️♀️20 min per day or 30 min 4x per week. I need to continue to journal📝 and to strive to ID unhelpful habits & replace with helpful ones.
Staying in the present moment is key to mental health and healthy choices.
In my dreams, I want to be 130 lbs with a HARD body… 😎 But let’s face it, this could be unattainable and/or unsustainable, but I’ll give it my best … It’s a 🥕! I don’t know how long it will take. Also, consuming 110g to 120g of protein per day is now a non-negotiable.
Let’s do R260 !!🙌🏻

Slept like a rock last night. 😀Groin is better but still not 💯. I’m hoping it to be well enough for 🎾tomorrow. I was able to walk five miles yesterday. A little 🏋️♀️. Read several hrs yesterday. Again, I recommend Atomic Habits (Clear), the Habit Mechanic (Finn) and a new release “Good Energy” by Casey Means, MD.
Cant believe 30, THIRTY rounds! I can honestly say that I’m energized again… And looking forward to digging in this round! I can also say this is the first time in my life, my entire life, feeling safe and secure on this health journey. I know in my soul this is who I am. I’m no longer the gal that has struggled with her 🎢 weight and choices her entire life…. I am a new person DAILY prioritizing health and fitness. Wow! Kinda hesitant to write that down…. But…. ONWARD! Ok ok ok, gotta see it, B E L I E VE it and work it! Let’s go! 💪🏻🏋️♀️🙌🏻

Haven’t seen 129ish since late 2023. I think it’s from inactivity & an incredible night’s sleep. Instead of one long walk, I walked four times yesterday to reach 5 miles. I enjoyed it.
🏋️♀️”snacking” didn’t work because of an emotional interruption… 🤬🥲 I’m determined for today to be positive. I will stay in the present moment and listen to Norman!
(DH is gone for the weekend with a handful of his high school buddies… They do this once a year… He always has a wonderful time!) Major thunderstorms today. Planning on challenging resistance band sessions & 🏋️♀️ throughout the day & steak tonight! [Oh, my groin is a little better, but it is still limiting my movement a great deal - can tell it’s getting better each day. ] This is the longest I’ve gone without playing tennis in at least 10 years… Hoping to LIVE and enjoy a really good day today. Come ON! 💪🏻

Good things to share:
1. Yesterday I started off gung-ho and then I got caught spending too much time surfing Amazon/piddling but I was able to get in two 10-minute 🏋️♀️ “snacks” and a 4.5 mi walk. How? I just let the day pass by and finally after my 4 o’clock steak, I asked myself who the heck am I? And I literally responded to myself… “Fit, healthy & strong”. What would a “healthy, fit & strong” person with a groin injury do right now? … A long brisk walk! I literally embraced this new identity… It was a wild feeling! Akin to WWJD? What would HFSD?! My new inner-voice of encouragement. It was such a mind game… Going back-and-forth between slouch or HFS? While walking, I just gave myself so many affirmations. It was empowering & uplifting.
2. “White Noise” App. A friend of mine recommended this app weeks ago, and I’ve been putting it off. Several nights ago I started listening to “Rain”. For the last three nights, I have slept like a baby… Nature Sounds. There are a gazillion apps similar to this… This one’s very basic and I’ve hit a jackpot.
Unfortunately, my groin is still bothering me so I ordered a compression strap to see if it would help and I’ve started icing it several times a day… some relief. I have a tennis match scheduled for Tuesday and I’m concerned I’ll have to cancel it…
Have a disciplined day!

So I ended the last round with a nice little drop, which gives me a challenge to better it in this round. I am surprised this morning was not higher due to my mini binge last night on totally inappropriate snacks.
Today’s challenge? Rotary meeting lunch is lasagna and bread sticks. Sheesh. If I am smart, I will just have a big plate of salad.
5/17: 222.2
/logged; exercised; not enough “drank”/
There is a reason. Yes, I ate the lasagna for lunch, but not a big portion. Yes, I went to Culver’s for supper and had a Tenderloin Basket. DGS 7th birthday celebration yesterday. DS made a cake “from scratch” for the birthday.
Overall calories were maxed out, not over. But worse was the salt. And, I got up at 3:30. Couldn’t sleep……
I am smoking a pork shoulder or two this weekend. We have 16 people coming over for dinner on Sunday evening. All I can say is the weather better be good so we can expand to the outdoors. Thinking about smoking some mac’n’cheese too. I have never done that at home, but have had it at a restaurant.
5/18: 220.2
/logged; exercised; 70 oz water/
I need to bring water more to the top of my mind. Today we get picky about the house and yard in preparation for our dinner party tomorrow.

/Nope; Yes; ?/
Big day yesterday so I didn’t pay attention to logging. Got plenty of exercise.
DW hid the bathroom scale from our guests so I couldn’t do my normal routine this morning. She is still sleeping as I write, so… just as well. I think I would be weighing everything I ate in the last 24 hours. Too much Information I know.
Off to the eye Dr. this morning. Yesterday I experienced a sudden “floater.” Still with me this morning. Kinda big, so I am having it looked at.
