5/22: how is it almost Memorial Day?? This spring has been cold and rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the blooming backyard as much as I would like. Finally a week of sunshine and warmth!
@Chapter_3 : I agree, "boring is good!"! Our food plans are different, but the approach is similar- one absolute similarity is no processed foods- they derail me every time!

So I ended the last round with a nice little drop, which gives me a challenge to better it in this round. I am surprised this morning was not higher due to my mini binge last night on totally inappropriate snacks.
Today’s challenge? Rotary meeting lunch is lasagna and bread sticks. Sheesh. If I am smart, I will just have a big plate of salad.

There is a reason. Yes, I ate the lasagna for lunch, but not a big portion. Yes, I went to Culver’s for supper and had a Tenderloin Basket. DGS 7th birthday celebration yesterday. DS made a cake “from scratch” for the birthday.
Overall calories were maxed out, not over. But worse was the salt. And, I got up at 3:30. Couldn’t sleep……
I am smoking a pork shoulder or two this weekend. We have 16 people coming over for dinner on Sunday evening. All I can say is the weather better be good so we can expand to the outdoors. Thinking about smoking some mac’n’cheese too. I have never done that at home, but have had it at a restaurant.

Big day yesterday so I didn’t pay attention to logging. Got plenty of exercise.
DW hid the bathroom scale from our guests so I couldn’t do my normal routine this morning. She is still sleeping as I write, so… just as well. I think I would be weighing everything I ate in the last 24 hours. Too much Information I know.
Off to the eye Dr. this morning. Yesterday I experienced a sudden “floater.” Still with me this morning. Kinda big, so I am having it looked at.

Well, the “floater” in my eye is just that. A floater. Too much detail to go into here, but when they took a look inside, they thought it best to see a retinal specialist. There was no sense of alarm, just concern. Meanwhile, I need to learn to live with my new companion, the floater. Perhaps I should give him a name. No way to eliminate him. We need to learn how to get along. I think they can break them up with a laser, but they are not eliminated.
I think I will name him Nemo.

Going to travel four hours to see my 34-year-old DD for a couple days. Her birthday is today. Can’t believe she is that old already. When she was a little girl, I used to ask her on each birthday if she would please just repeat another year without getting older. I saw this coming.
She was born on the year of the 17-year locust. So weird. So this is her third emergence (though she can’t remember the first.) Where she lives, south of us, they are out. They should be hitting here soon.
Anyway, today we will eat out twice, and then a couple times tomorrow. Tonight is a favorite tapas restaurant, which means you only eat a little bit… of 20 things.

May 4: 10 of the 20 inches lost was off my belly! No pics, no proof, lol ~ I love/hate taking photos because they've become one of my best tools. You can't lie and you can't hide. Putting myself on blast 1) creates incentive to increase effort and 2) highlights new areas to focus on. Still have a looooooooonnnng way before reaching my ultimate goals, but its nice to see muscle memory is real! At a size 15, I haven't been this small in more than 10 years.

Lost less than a pound, 1.25 inches combined on arms and legs | regained 0.2% body fat and 1/2 inch back on my belly. Starting dietary 200-400 calorie deficit and Intermittent Fasting 18-24 hrs. Breaking fast differently, including more protein, and continuing to look for new ways to increase step count and add more strength in May.
January 1st - April 1st, I've lost 17 pounds and a total of 20.8 inches from 11 areas. 🥳 Thrilled to see my hard work reversing prediabetes and years of physical damage. Getting leaner and stronger and chair dancing proud of myself about it!! 57 and hormonal, it's taken longer than expected and a much rougher road than my youth.
Reaching onederland (March 13th) meant the end of 10+ years and up to 80 pounds!! gained and relost too many times to count. Yo-yoing is the main reason for so much body fat!!! Determined not to continue to self-sabotage ... I need a new target!! If I should lose an additional 8% body fat to reach the "standard" for my age, height and sex ~ and up to 15% more to reach excellent ~ that's @ least another 8-15 months of work before I can begin to relax and think maintenance.8 -

05/22 - 147.7 - This is okay. I'm feeling day 2 DOMS from Monday's leg workout (increased weight) and I can feel the soreness which means I'm sure there's associated water retention in my muscles. I ended up skipping dinner and replacing it with a couple smaller-volume protein bars which got me nearly perfect on macros in replacement. I simply was not hungry at all and barely managed the bars - at least I had those on hand. Hoping today is better - I have no room in macros for any snacks but lunch and dinner leave me so full I can't fathom a snack anyway. If today leaves me feeling like yesterday, I'll need to split my dinner into 2: a portion as an afternoon snack so my dinner portion is a little more tolerable. I've got some tentative plans for next week and pre-logged what I could so far. I'll continue working on that so I know my basic 2 meals (and maybe breakfast if I've got enough wiggle room). My macros may change again Monday morning (after breakfast) based on my Sunday weekly check-in so I'll be sure I stay mindful

Previous Day's Comments05/16 - I'm guessing a TOM-related blip. I felt really bloated this morning although I got rid of many of the other (more annoying/painful) pre-TOM symptoms so I won't complain at all! Hopefully I'm now on the recovery side of things and I can resume normalcy in the next day or two. Arm workout this morning. Lower weight with higher reps due to already having done a smaller bit of biceps on Tuesday and triceps yesterday. More to push lactic acid and get some muscular endurance. I'm not sure if I'm going to go tomorrow- BF was talking about knocking out squats but then trying to get in on the hydro-massage to help with his shoulder (he had injections due to partial tears he's trying to heal from. Surgeon said to keep working out within reason). Since his alarm wakes me up anyway, I may go and, if I'm not feeling up to it, I can walk on the treadmill or pedal on the bike until he's done. The hydro-massage isn't a guarantee so it could be a short visit anyway. Last day of fully prepped meals. I have one more lunch for tomorrow but dinner will be improvised. I pre-planned for fish but we shall see what BF is feeling so I can log that and lunch to figure out snacks to meet macros!

05/20 - Recovery from TOM and the weekend - I didn't go crazy, but I wasn't as disciplined as I am during the week. I did end up going to the gym on Friday and felt better for doing so. Today I wasn't so sore and fatigued so I pushed hard and was able to increase weights a bit - progress! I haven't gotten my check in responses from Coach yet, so still waiting to see if macros or other goals have changed. We get the kiddos at the end of the week (they'll be home Saturday) so there will be more movement and a tad more struggle when it comes to macros (no meal prepping dinner so will have to plan as best I can ahead). It's worth it, though!
05/21 - Bumped back down despite feeling oh so full yesterday. This is good. My Coach adjusted my macros so I'm reducing carbs and fats (and subsequently calories) a bit more to get into a good cut based on my feedback (that I'm noticing my muscle growth now that I'm getting enough protein, yippee!). I'd love to lose a bit more of the fat layer so my muscles shine through a bit more (get that toned look) before the beach but that's in a bit less than a month and I don't know if I can safely and reasonably lose that much fat around my tummy, hips, and legs in that time. At least there's hope for my birthday when we take an island trip. I can look good then if nothing else!

I was under calorie for the day but the carbs were through the roof. I ended up going without a proper dinner last night just to make up for it. Luckily it did not put me into a sugar drop binge or a hungry without my dinner binge. I really need to see a drop tomorrow on the scale so I will be pre-logging my food today to help me stay focused.
05/22 -186.0- (Trend weight186.9) Whoosh. It was a good day yesterday except in the world of exercise. I shed so much water that I’m sure the drop was all water weight but it feels great to get rid of the stomach bloat. Its beautiful here today. Maybe I’ll get out and walk around my cul-de-sac a few times (uphill). I can’t go far with my contractors here.

Goal: Calorie Cycle for a weekly average between 1200 - 1500. Eat more vegetables and fruit. Drink 80oz water each day. Walk. Start building strength back using light weights.5/16 - 176.6 - I'm going back to exercising in the mornings the way I did before I retired. I'm more likely to exercise instead of deciding I'm too tired at the end of the day, and it makes me want to stay on a healthy track with my food therest of the day. And if I'm just full of energy , I can always do another form of exercise in the evening.
5/17 - 176.4 - I got (3) 1 pound bags of pecans I ordered from a farm down in Georgia today. I'm allergic to peanuts and they guarantee no cross contamination. I'm freezing 2 pounds. My plan is to just eat in my oatmeal, and not eat a handful every time I go in the kitchen. They are already shelled, so really easy to grab some and end up eating 900 calories in a couple of hours. I don't want my bingeing problem to keep me from having healthy food (if eaten in moderation) in the house. Wish me luck!

5/19 - DNW - Well, no surprise, I did not eat the pecans I bought in just my oatmeal as planned. I was working in my workshop (silver jewelry, enamel, lampwork), and every single time I came in the house I ate some and added salt. The remains of the first 1lb bag are now in the freezer with the other unopen bags. My husband does not like pecans so I can't count on him to eat them. He's always been my garbage disposal for things that I buy impulsively. However, two years ago he changed his diet due to high blood pressure and stomach issues. After he went off all gluten and sugar, his blood pressure dropped from 150s to the 120s, and his stomach issues are gone. He's naturally thin but he looks so much healthier. I'm thankful for his improved health and healthy way of living. Neither of us eat processed foods, EXCEPT me during the sporatic binges I go on, which can pack the pounds on. I just can't have the trigger foods in the house. Back on plan today, and lots and lots of water!!

Greetings - I'm Violet. I've had little success over the past few months in losing weight. Greetings - I'm Violet. I've had little success over the past few months in losing weight. But I have a new plan which involves eating more protein to make myself fuller so I don't want to snack on carby things. I'd like to participate in this thread. I had only eaten like 630 calories by the evening, so I added in almonds and a protein shake. I did expect a little loss this morning, so maybe it’s because I’m sore. But I guess it could be that “not enough calories” thing.
5/22 174.0 I have a new walking/hiking buddy—my 4-yr old DGD. I hope to get in lots of miles with her this summer and get her on the Appalachian Trail for a mile or two later in the summer. She’s excited!

Have been able to walk the last two days and so that has been good for my mind and body as it’s been a long 3.5 months with little to no activity due to my back. Got some opinions from neurosurgeons this week and will likely go with injections first and if that doesn’t help then surgery. I don’t want surgery but am concerned that the disc bulge will not go away with injections. If removed by surgery then hopefully I’d never have that pain again. Anyone out there have bulging discs? Curious what has helped others.

Goals for this round; to lose! To be consistent and lose something; to get back into the 130s, should be able to break that 140 barrier now! Strive to have a feeding frenzy free round😊. Good luck everyone for success.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

5/23 178.0 so many steps yesterday that my feet are sore this morning. We had beautiful but HOT weather for the market, luckily the river offered us a nice breeze. So good to see my returning venders and meet the new ones I’ve been emailing with.
I had so much good food to sample and came home with too many treats.
We are expecting storms today, hoping I can squeeze in some work in between. I’m starting to get behind on work. I had hoped to take off most of the weekend but I am not optimistic.8
