Happy Birthday @tarun_yadavA . Great picture of you and your boys, and the cake looks awesome!
I didn't post yesterday, but I did run yesterday and I took a rest day today. I ran 6 miles. It was hot, 77F and humid, 94% and windy, 16 mph. But it was light when I got out and I enjoyed the run. I didn't see any skunks on the run, but when I got home I saw one in my neighbor's yard. Today I decided to have a rest day and just did an hour yoga practice.
They posted pictures from the race. There were a few others, but these were the best.

Morning all.
Got in 10K/6.24M (at 09"40 pace).
Real struggle after last night!
With that run, taken me to 155 for May. So goal met.
I have 7 days left in May and 45M to make 200M in a month. That would be a Personal best.
7 more back-to-back 10k's.
@Laurz9191 thank you! 😊 Detox time!
@chris_in_cal well done keep it going!
@quilteryoyo hope you're having fun!8 -

Good morning and Happy Friday! The Friday of a long weekend for some of us in the US. I met a friend and ran 5.29 miles this morning. Another foggy and humid one after overnight storms.8 -
Hi everyone!
I ran 6.6km this morning. It was a bit chilly out but not too chilly for shorts and a t-shirt.
144.6/160km for May.
@tarun_yadavA If anyone can run 10km a day to finish the month (hungover or not) it’s you!
@chris_in_cal I believe you can run under 12. Just give yourself time. Also try to vary your speed, and let yourself go easier some days! That will keep your motivation up .
@Teresa502 and the other USers Enjoy the long weekend! We had a long weekend last weekend in Germany .4 -
Morning - Hope everyone has a great day !
Yesterday I walked 4 miles in about 62 minutes.
Mile1 - 15:23, Mile2 - 14:56, Mile3 - 15:14, Mile4 - 15:56
I also discovered that I need to tie my shoes properly each time I put them on. Otherwise my feet slide.

Maybe once a week I'll set aside for running "fast" and the rest I'll try to hit some target (say 12:10), and once I week I'll go to the beach and stretch it out a little in a longer run.9 -

Thanks @laurz9191 and @teresa502.
I ran 5.6 miles today. It was warm, but it wasn't dark and the moon was really pretty. So it was a pretty nice run.

Neighborhood 1Mile (at 14"34 ). Day 24. Slow late easy run. It's a bank holiday in the US, so I'm proud I got it in.
May you have a good Memorial Day everyone.

Hello everyone.
Got in 7.0M (at 09"35 pace).
@TheMrWobbly well done on the Half !
@chris_in_cal don't worry about pace just yet. Just keep going.
@Laurz9191 may disagree... I'd lean towards upping distance a teeny bit, whilst keeping streak going... Gently push up from 1.0M to 1.2M or something. Pace will become easier when you get used to it (and losing weight helps/makes it easier too).
Just my thoughts.
But keep going 💪🏽 keep streaking!!!
Anyways...
Long weekend here in London too... Have a lovely long weekend to those in England and in the USA.8 -
Alright so:
Friday: 3miles - trying to be fast, 15:30avg pace
Sat: 4 miles - easy, 16:44avg pace
Considering adding some core and lower body strengthening exercises.
Have a good Saturday everyone.6 -

Neighborhood 1Mile (at 12"24 ). Day 25. I like both @tarun_yadavA and @Laurz9191 ideas. Mixing up things occasionally (similar to an occasional sweets and beer rampage with the boys vs. monkhood) and building distance. There is a 400m or so little spur I could add on to my sweet little neighborhood loop. I'm thinking that might be my next month goal.7

Love the analogy @chris_in_cal
Haha.
Monkhood beckons...
This week has just been heavy. I woke up with the sweats and feeling nauseous.
So no run today.
(It's gonna make that 200M a tall order now 😔)
Anyways. Have a nice long weekend. I'm lying in bed being 'pathetic' as my wife put it on the phone to my (retired Doc) mum.
TV in bed! Yayy!5 -
@chris_in_cal You're doing such a good job keeping your streak up. It's hard to carve out the time every single day, especially when it means having to get out late at the end of the day.
My two cents on the distance vs Pace discussion: runners do speed work for a reason. You can't push the max of your pace every single day without completely exhausting yourself. Every training program out there has easy days and hard days and short days and long days. Changing up what your body is subjected to is how it adapts. If you want to get faster, mix in a couple runs a week where you really try to up the pace or mix in some short fast intervals. If you want to add endurance/distance, pick one or two runs a week where you don't worry as much about the pace but you add on a little bit more distance. And if you're happy with what you're doing right now, then keep doing what you're doing!5 -
It's race day! I am both ready and thoroughly underprepared. The temperature is in the low 40s with a little bit of a breeze and some cloud cover. Basically ideal race conditions for me if I were ready to race and we weren't at 2000 ft of elevation. For a lot of people. 2,000 ft of elevation probably won't mean anything, but I expect that I'm going to notice it since Houston is at about 200 ft above sea level. With the time change I was up before 5:00, so having coffee and breakfast and about to get ready and do packet pickup. Somehow, both my husband and kid are still sleeping. I swear the two of them can sleep an entire day away if you let them.
