Debbie – I’ve never seen a meat tenderizer like that. Wish I had one.
Michele NC[/quote]
There are a lot listed on Ebay- not exactly the same but does the same job.

Annie - I don’t think it’s high pressure tactics, it’s the reality of the number of people that need care. My Mom was on a list to get in for 16 months, hers went fast we were told it would be 2 years.
The manor I worked at had a 1 year wait list, it was a bigger facility.
Here in Canada you can’t even be put on a waiting list without an assessment for need of care.
As Machka said, the manor I worked at could have people “jump the line” based on severity of need.
Rebecca - does your DH do Warhammer? My first SIL does that, his painting is incredibly detailed and tiny. He paints my daughter’s toenails for her and he paints my granddaughter’s nails if she asks.
Allie - I sort of giggled when I read your problems with Sasha. There is a boy in class that has had the excuse the last couple of days that his cat is keeping him awake at night. The teacher and I have told him several times to put the cat out of the room.
That’s interesting that the Trulicity is actually making it so you don’t want the junk.
I think the old adage, “you can’t just take a pill to lose weight” is soon going to be the way of the dodo bird. As we all know, weight is about much more than beauty and this may help with so many other conditions and illnesses.
Jenn - Welcome and congratulations on the loss.
That isn’t the name they gave, but like your family mine is genetic from my Dad’s side of the family. My Mom was an only child and her Dad, her and my brother all have/had perfect vision. My grandfather and Mom had to use reading glasses around 65 though. My My Dad’s side is huge, I have 31 first cousins and probably 14 of us have the same thing, so did 5 of my Dad’s siblings including him. There were 7 of them.
Sue - I’m going to have to go see a dentist to see if that type of thing would work for snoring. I don’t have sleep apnea, but snore terribly and it causes lots of problems in the house.
Maybe someday they’ll make a pill for these issues! I would be first in line to try.
Heather - what a great Grandpa John is. They are so blessed to have him.
He’ll sleep well tomorrow night!
Michele - I really would see a doctor about that callous if I were you. That’s what I kept thinking mine was for a year or more, then it was so bad I couldn’t walk, been suffering terribly since October with plantar fasciitis. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
Rodger redid the flowerbed against the house and the sidewalk leading up to the steps today. Since he did that I decided I should go buy some plants.
I put some seeds in the front bed on Monday we’ll see if they go, but we had hopefully our last frost warnings last week so put it off this year.
I also bought dirt, and a new garden hose spray gun.
I had heard on our local Rant & Rave FB group that one of my favourite stores is closing on the 3rd. I am so disappointed, it’s a Canadian company to start with, usually cheaper than Walmart with some unique Canadian stuff. Apparently the landlord raised the rent and the corporate office feels it’s no longer feasible to remain open. This will make the closest one 1/2 an hour away and to top it off leave only Walmart for a department store here.
Citizens are complaining to the corporate office. I think I will too.
Decent day today at school. I think I need to go see my doctor about another suggestion for my feet. I know that orthotics and a foot doctor are what I need, but I don’t have the money for that so im hoping that something else can be tried.
Confession:
My dishwasher died a couple months ago and I’m having to do dishes by hand. I am normally very good at just doing them after supper each night, but I was lazy the last two nights.
Tonight I did them telling myself it was a good thing since all 3 of my ice cream scoops were dirty, so were all 3 of my to go coffee mugs. So if I wanted ice cream tonight or coffee tomorrow I had to do them. Not the best incentive, but incentive nonetheless.

Jeez, I went out to take my walk this evening and I slipped on fell in the driveway. I’m OK. But I’m not happy about it. I thought I was just a klutz because my husband swept the driveway this weekend, so I tripped on nothing! But he went out to get the mail and said that it is slippery. Meanwhile, I’m sure my back will hurt tomorrow and I landed on my bad knee. I still walked though because I didn’t want to get stiff.
Debbie - That meat tenderizer is really cool!
Sue - It was really crazy weather today. I’m a little jealous of your barn. I am hoping to retire on some land, but it will depend on a lot of things.
Ugh - I still have more work to do tonight. But, it will let up soon. We went through a software conversion, so everything takes longer.

Spectacular breakfast, if I say so myself.
Max had posh bacon on a toasted bun, and then blackcurrant jam on another.
Bea had sliced avocado, and scrambled egg on a toasted bun.
Edie had gluten free pitta, scrambled egg, smoked salmon, posh bacon, and mashed avocado.
John and I had mashed avocado, and scrambled egg with smoked salmon on a toasted bun.
He will be leaving in an hour to take them to the pick-up point. All are showering and repacking their stuff.
It's been great having them. Really taken my mind off things. Even though, thanks to John, I spent most of my time watching videos of 'Living in Paris' etc.

Jenn in North Seattle - Welcome! Glad you've joined us. Software conversions were never fun... and it doesn't sound like that slip did you any good either! Sounds like you've got your head set right for getting healthy. My husband and I were looking for the same kind of place and found it here in Arkansas--11 acres in a rural community, but only half an hour from the services we need, mostly medical. Only ten minutes from shopping, but far enough out to be a little more peaceful. Now we just have to build a barn! 😜😄😁
Heather - Thinking about you, my dear, and so excited for the next phase. John is such a trooper, and it sounds like the grands had loads of fun. What the heck is "posh bacon," pray tell?
Tracey - I did wonder how your feet were doing during your practicum. Hope you can get to the doc and get that and the snoring looked at. If you can sort out when you snore the worst, there might be a simple fix. A friend of mine stitched a tennis ball in the back of her pajamas so she couldn't sleep on her back, because she only snored when she slept on her back. Said after a couple nights, she got used to it and it worked well. The Mayo Clinic gives as the two top home remedies sleeping on your side and losing weight. None of the medical interventions sound very spiffy.
More in a minute...

Lisa - I call bacon posh if it comes from British outdoor free range pigs and isn't mass produced. Our very local butcher does great, thick cut, smoked bacon. The gluten free sausages were also theirs and were really excellent. We are having the remainders for lunch or dinner. The alternative is posh Scotch Eggs which John did a detour to buy yesterday. . Both will get eaten at some point. Posh Scotch Eggs are handmade by the very posh butcher in town. I like chilli and coriander in the coating.
We had a last minute panic when Bea couldn't find her monkey, her comforter. Edie, of course, found it in the exercise room, though I had looked in there. They should have been handed over by now.
I'm antiseptic and hairwashed. Phew! It's so exhausting. I can hardly step into the shower.
Packing for my hospital stay this afternoon. I will hear when my slot is from 2 pm onwards today.

And... it's still dark here in the foothills of the Ozark mountains 'cause I woke up at 3:30 in the morning. There really are worse things... I just need to get over it. Again, it's not like I have to be anywhere.
Corey's first alarm just went off, which totally interrupted Egg's thought process, as she was attempting to insinuate herself onto my lap. Which has a laptop in it, so very little room for a very fluffy kitty. There's an ungodly amount of gray kitty hair in my house now that it's warm... I need to tackle her with the many-nubbinned gloves that remove some of the excess hair, but you have to do it outside, for the obvious reasons. Plus she's got like five pointy ends on her, and doesn't like it for the first few minutes, until she realizes she does and enjoys it.
Cor invited his brother out this weekend for his next beer-brewing session, but I'm not going to put anything on for lunch, they'll just have to figure it out. But then we'll invite him out again on June 16 for a Father's Day get-together with our son and DF (dear fiancée). [I can't keep hunting down an accented "e" to write fiancée anymore, I'm too lazy 😈😜.]
Anyway, we'll have my husband's favorite for lunch, fried chicken and cold pasta salad, and if anyone wants an actual vegetable, they'll need to bring it. John hasn't seen his Uncle Pat in three or four years, and Soraya's never met him, so that will be fun. I've picked up a couple things for Corey:
Those are for Father's Day and his birthday, which is less than a week later, then our 15th anniversary is a week after that. I wouldn't marry him until he turned 40, because I was 49, and I wasn't going to marry a man in his 30s!
Other than that, I'm back on the medical merry-go-round again for June... X-rays for the VA application, then my follow-up with the gynecologist, then the Skyrizi infusion, labs to get my iron tested and then a phone call with the hematologist to talk about the results, then an appointment with the gastroenterologist to talk about the Skyrizi changes or lack thereof.
And... Corey's headed out the door, time to kiss him goodbye and get on with laundry and other inside chores. The moment it's light enough outside, I'll go out and get the things I want to do done out there, and then back inside before it's too hot.
Later y'all,
Love,

Good morning ladies!
Welcome Jenn! Sorry you fell.
Heather almost there! Thinking of you!
Machka and Tracey, I went to tour the closest memory care place, and they have immediate openings. But if I want to put him first on the wait-list and keep the spot, it's $2500. It's a small place, with 14 rooms, some double. I don't think my dad would do well sharing a bathroom because he would knock and not hear an answer.
They have TV and activities and an enclosed patio, but they are still locked up. So my Dad would have no church and no walking unless I took him. He would lose his little flag ritual and his midnight ice cream. And the cost would go up as he requires more care.
So my sister and I agree that our home is better for as long as I can handle it. I also looked at a day program at the senior center. It's only eight hours a week, and getting in is a whole process, but that looks more suited to him for now. He may try to walk home from there, but he may also make friends. It sounds like they do a better job of encouraging hydration, and sending pictures home.
I have walked a mile several times now, and it still makes me sore and my breath puffy. Hope that gets better!
And we are looking at getting a sitter to cover my horseback riding time. I need to make that happen quickly.
So we have a plan, and my sister is coming back for his birthday in July. We talked about a day trip to a local town on the Chesapeake with boat tours and such. That would be marvelous!
And we put a chime on the door, so I mostly know when he goes outside. He has been sleeping well. He is still going to get out occasionally, and that's risky, but we are willing to accept that risk.
So ever onwards 😊!
Have a marvelous day, and may you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Regarding caffeine: there are several different charts, but I thought this was one of the better ones.
I drink 2 fairly large cups of strong instant coffee a day (usually) which probably amount to about 20 oz of coffee and probably in the neighbourhood of 450 mg of caffeine.
I also drink about 600 ml of Pepsi Max which is about 20 oz of pop and probably in the neighbourhood of 75 mg of caffeine.
Fortunately soft drinks have a relatively small amount of caffeine.
Fortunately chocolate has quite a small amount of caffeine. I don't eat much chocolate so my caffeine quantity from that is probably in the neighbourhood of 1 mg.
That's about 525 mg of caffeine/day.
They say up to 400 mg of caffeine/day is all right, so I'm just a bit above that these days. It's gone to that because I am so tired, so I'm making my 2 cups of coffee each day ultra strong. However, I have started making slightly smaller cups recently.

Not much happening here. Since my sports teams are done for the season, I've signed up to work concerts. This Thursday I will be backstage for Stevie Nicks. Also will work load in day shifts at Red Rocks. It's all outside work so no worries about getting enough sunshine here.
Condo pool opened this weekend. I love lap swimming but also want more variety. Does anyone have a preferred site for learning deep water exercises?
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Very cool!
Deep water exercises around here are done in the ocean. Or a bay.

Will she walk on a leash? If so, take her for a walk late in the day for half an hour or so. Then, if she still has energy, toss ping pong balls for her to chase.
That should wear her out.
We do that with Rhody and he sleeps quite well at night.

On me. I've started a general well-being journal. I have been tracking my health and sleep and even food. I really need to figure out my issues since no medical professional has a clue. There is no obvious link or trigger. I am leaning toward hormones. The other night, I woke up around 3am with pain. I leave heard and read that our hormone levels drop (as well as other things change) around 3am ( or 3pm for shift workers). For more than 20 years, I have been regularly waking up around 3am. So, I believe there is some truth to this.
Time for more coffee. Enjoy the day!

Have you looked into Pudendal Neuralgia?
At some point, when I have more time, I want to go to my Pelvic Physiotherapist and ask her about Pudendal Neuralgia because I think that, at last, it might explain so much.
Interestingly, Telfast (Fexofenadine Hydrochloride) seems to provide me some relief. I take 2 at night, which helps me sleep and eases some of the symptoms I now attribute to Pudendal Neuralgia.
Sometimes when it is really bad, I go with Telfast and Panadol and Ibuprofen. Fortunately, that doesn't happen very often but it used to happen on the day before my periods started, regularly, like clockwork. So yes, I think hormones are linked in there somewhere.

Today was about 2 km of walking + 28 flights of 20 stairs up and 32 flights of 20 stairs down.
I had nachos at lunch and still feel full.

About Siri...if I close the door she scratches the door and I don't want her ruining the door,Ive put up a gate in front of the door and she somehow gets her way around it..
I play with the laser and she really isn't interested in toys,
Im not supposed to have both a dog and a cat..so taking her outside would be a no no ,on a leash
I was sneezing away yesterday so took cold meds last night.. slept well
Heather thinking of you as you get a new hip...

Good news! The hospital rang me to confirm my admission is at 7 am.
I can eat until midnight and drink water until one hour before admission. I have to do one more antiseptic shower in the morning and nose stuff. Not hair.
I will get an Uber in. Small wheely case and a large handbag. Stick.

That's AWEsome! I always prefer to be the first one for the doc in the morning when s/he is fresh and ready to work. Hate being late in the day. Plus a much shorter time to be awake and worry-warting about everything for me. Too many procedures in my life, obviously... Can your DH not go with you? Or do you prefer it that way?
Love,
Lisa
