Tracey ... I don't find Jeans all that comfortable either but I wear them anyways. They keep overeating in check! I live in Buffalo and follow the Sabres hockey team. Since they didn't make it to the playoffs, we were rooting for NY Rangers and now that they're out of play we were rooting for the Oilers (Lost to Dallas during a Stanley Cup Finals years ago). Go Oilers!!
Annie ... no two paths are the same when it comes to elder care or dementia. Remember, your Dad is saying and doing things through his dementia ... as hard as it is, don't take insult at the things he says or does. His understanding and reality are not reasonable anymore.
My mom slid out of her wheelchair at the rehab facility yesterday afternoon. Sigh. She told my husband and I she fell but couldn't form her thoughts to give details. When I found her aide, he said he knew nothing about it and by law I would have been notified if she fell. Five hours later, the facility called and, yes, she did slide out of her wheelchair and someone visiting her roommate reported it. Staff put her back in her chair, examined her and she is ok. This event, along with others however, means that she will not return to assisted living, nor memory care at an assisted living facility. She requires long-term care. Not sure who is going to take her, but I will be emptying her assisted living apartment this week. We've been paying $270 a day while she has not been there! Time to stop that financial bleed.

@Pip, I noticed succulents in a container beside your bunnies. Do you keep them year round or get new in the Spring? If you keep them, where do you keep them each Winter? Just curious…. I love your edgings and plants. I miss that while living in this RV. DH and I are talking about selling the RV and moving to a rental or rent to buy house. The search begins!

Rebecca, don’t know about cranberry jelly, but cranberry sauce thaws just fine!
Beth I find your implant journey fascinating! Thanks for sharing the journey and so excited that you are starting to hear real sounds!
Heather, thanks to you for sharing your hip surgery story. I’m hoping to never need it, but it’s good to hear about the journey from someone who has first hand experience. Right now my take away from it is that I need to be in the best possible condition before I need it, I’m assuming it will make your recovery much easier.
Allie, so nice to see Carmine interacting with Miles!
I’m sure there are more posts that I wanted to comment on but, as usual, the memory fails. Congrats to those celebrating, hugs for those who need them (extra hugs for those of you who have recently suffered losses) and welcome to the new gals!
It’s a rainy day here, but my friend and I managed to do our full walk anyway. The rain didn’t start getting bad til we were at our turn around spot so we did have to finish, lol. Ah well, we both had good rain jackets so all was well.
Evelyn, Vancouver Island
It all was glorious, the mashed potatoes tasted like sweet potatoes, and the green beans well they tasted like sweet potatoes too.😂😂. I finished my two slices of cranberry jelly, so now my innards will be happy.
Its a blustery, cool day on the island today. Husband went to the gym early so the car can't be a sitting target by the house under the grove of tree matter falling.
I had a rough night, getting a cold. Wet cough, took meds at 2 am and sprayed throat so as least I could sleep. Will faithful take cold medicine and kick this thing.
I have a chicken I need to simmer, but the chicken stock should make me feel better. I will make it extra cold killing spicy!
Hugs ladies!

Jenn ~ Good thoughts and prayers for your son! Hope you get a dr. appt. soon.
Machka ~ It was interesting how you compared your desire to keep things organized and your husband like everything out in the opening. It made me realize that my husband and I have the same problem. I want everything to have a specific space and he spreads everything out wherever. Drives me nuts!
Rori ~ Writing a eulogy must have been so difficult for you as you thought about all the memories you and your friend had.

Hello again!
The doorbell just rang, and I had a delivery of flowers from M&S. I had no idea who it could be, but it turned out to be from my three schoolfriends who I Zoom with every two weeks. In fact, tomorrow! They are beautiful roses 🌹 .
I will post a photo when I've arranged them, which requires me going downstairs. I've been napping this afternoon. Body catching up on lost sleep.
Machka - That is some saga. May be time to rest a bit. It must be scary.
Pip - I love seeing the care you take with the objects you bring into your life. You have so much love to give.
Beth - Always thinking of you.
Annie - You are often in my thoughts also. A hard road.
Love to all.

I supervised John doing the arranging.

Heather - so very happy to hear your hip is not hurting at rest now. Glad you are home.
Jenn - hope you can get your son in to the doc quickly and crossing fingers his symptoms are no cause for alarm.
Lisa - Pink lemonade blueberries are delicious. Hope your bush makes it through the summer and gives you a nice crop next year!
The rain and wind continue. It was a good day today.

Riding outside sure is different than riding on by bike trainer and spin bike at home. I’ve always known it was different but todays ride just reminded me

That one you see by the bunnies I got from OfferUp for 10-15 bucks. I have them all out year round, I’m new to this gardening thing. In Washington, we even look at a plant, it dies, we have no thumb at all. Here this succulent thing is popular cuz of the heat, so far so good.2 -
Thank you Barbie for getting us started on the new month. One Day at a time.
Sue--Sorry to hear about your BIL. Your sister must be so scared. Sending prayers and hugs for all of you.
Ginny--Good to see you post. Sounds like you have been busy.Sounds like even with getting sick you enjoyed your time with Luna.
Jenn--I pray you find out what is going on with your son and be able to have it taken care of. My DH has some heart issues since taking the 2 dose of vacaine. He is doing better and long as he doesn't over do he is ok. So many unknowns.
Heather--Glad you are home and the pain is getting better.
DH went to pickup the ashes of my friend as I could not get anyone to cover at work. I will have her at my house until her oldest daughter gets here and then we will plan a celebration of life. Still having problems with believing she is gone. It is getting better and I did get to church yesterday and then took 3 of our grandsons that go to church with out for lunch.

MFP Weekly Check-in June 3, 2024
Rita in Roswell, NM - Lost almost 4 pounds this week! I knew last week was water!
Sue in WA State - Still maintaining weight. wish I could get it moving downward again. Doing well with exercise even though I only made it to water exercise once this past week. Did extra strength and balance workout instead. Started with the SnoreLab this week and have completed it 3 nights. Interesting insights. I am anxious to see the more long-term results. Return to dentist June 25.
Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - For the month so far, obviously need Pip's boot. ;{ Better than yesterday: PT-Knees 1 of 2 PT-Shoulder 1 of 2 Steps 1 of 2 CI/CO 1 of 2 Sugar 0 of 2
Debbie in Napa Valley, CA - down one more pound. Was hoping for a bit more after yesterday but down is good. 148.0 this morning.
Lanette SW WA State – weight continues to hold steady in desired range. Lower carb (eliminating sugar, “white” starches) eating plan going well. Unsalted nuts instead of sugary snacks is working for me.

Hello, my dears,
Woke up from a badly needed nap to a barrage of thunder rumbling through the Arkansas River Valley... lots and lots of rain, of course, sweeping in right behind it and with it. Made me realize how lucky I am that I don't live in a war-torn country on the other side of the world where a "barrage" is something completely different. I am so truly grateful to live here.
Vicki - Many hugs, dear heart.
Rori - Hugs headed your way as you send your eulogy off for your friend.
Heather - The roses are lovely. Nice gesture from your friends and nice help from John!
Machka - I had a couple of those fugue states during some of the absolute worst days of the illness. Few things scarier than finding your body has done things unconsciously or subconsciously without engaging your mind or memory. You're under a lot of stress, lady. Time to take a few breaths and stop for a day or two to regroup, maybe?
The X-rays were quick and easy, then dropped a box off at the Goodwill, and a few other errands and home again. Tired, no yoga, just the nap. Day off from medical stuff tomorrow, but more rain coming, then the gyno on Wednesday.
Hope it's been a good day...
Later y'all,
Love,
Lisa

well, the #1 priority on my list for today has been accomplished. I caught the fourth/last kitten and brought it in. It is hiding in the kitty playpen while the three others have some play time outside of the playpen(in the living room)-getting exercise.
I put them back in and they didn't even notice the new sibling- when they did it was very simple, a few sniffs and it went back under the fuzzy bed. Son did reach in and pet it. It was ok with it.

I haven't felt like I have been under a lot of stress but there is a lot going on with work and the house. Maybe I have a relatively high level of stress tolerance because of the past 6 years that I don't feel stressed ... but I am.
I also haven't exercised as much as usual, especially not my upper body.
I had a serious case of DOMs yesterday!
Anyway, happily, I slept much better last night and feel better this morning.
