How About We Don't Delete Newsfeeds
Replies

Just save the newsfeed, folks.4

MY fitness “deleted pal” has to be resurrected. Email the owner corp as suggested. Unsubscribe to premium. Let them know. I depend on the private group n newsfeed n have noticed my lack of motivation n readiness to log etc since everyone is leaving to another app. These r the consequences of changing to something new vs using the newsfeed WE ALL USE! It is an intricate part of what makes mfp successful. Please restore3

Why did you remove such a great feature? This is how was interacted with friends to see their achievements and streaks!0

So the newsfeed still exists, but there are no more automatic updates. Do I see that correctly?
I suppose that means we update it ourselves. Like sharing with our friends when we lost and being honest about it if/when we gained.
I could post my daily short version of the food I eat. So altogether it's up to me if I keep it alive or if I let it go.
Not sure if I am getting it all :-)0 -

Current situation is that for some people automatic updates have stopped, for others the newsfeed has already disappeared entirely. A phased rollout I'm guessing, depending on app version/location/who knows what other criteria.
The newsfeed will disappear entirely in the end, for all of us.3 -
Thanks, so the take the "M" out of MFP. In this case I won't be staying.

This morning my newsfeed button is gone on my iPhone app. It feels weird and sad5
-
What is sad is that MANY of the people moving over to Lose It are jumping onto the $15 "startup premium deal" right off the bat. Think of all those people who would have been willing to pay the same $15 to invest in MFP to keep with the app we love.

True. I mean the regular newsfeed folks were the apps biggest fans6 -

It’s just gone.
Used to be 5 icons, with the newsfeed in the middle.
Now there’s only four icons with no newsfeed.
And the profile is just a mostly blank screen

Yep I have the same as Margaret2
-
Keep the newsfeed5

Now that changes are underway, I am looking forward to seeing the development in our new profile areas.0

SAVE OUR NEWSFEED! This is awful! This app will completely fail without the newsfeed, what a dumb decision for the app developers to make! You’re cutting us off from our community! Post more ads if you need more revenue, but everyone will leave if they continue this4

SAVE our NEWSFEED!!3

What the heck? Bring back the newsfeed! I’ve been on MFP for almost 12 years - it’s my daily go/to to encourage my friends and vice versa. Do not understand this decision at all.6
-
Bring the newsfeed back - Please! #1 reason I’ve been on here for 12 years.7

I miss my newsfeed & being able to see what my friends did for the day. Also the fact that I know they can see what I did for the day easily. I used it as an accountability aspect that my friends can easily see if I worked out for the day & my streaks. I actually don’t see any use for the app now because I only used it to connect & see what friends were doing.6

If you have a smart phone, use the browser there to try logging in. I gave up on the MFP app years ago because it was so glitchy, at least at the time, and I use Safari on my phone to log in. I pretty much just use the forums at this point, so not sure it would work for the dashboard, but I don't know why it wouldn't.2 -

I agree....have you tried navigating Loseit on your PC? I fond it so much easier than the app...I am getting use to both.

We’re is the news feed on MyFitnessPal0
-

They took it away, if you can believe it, because it “wasn’t used”. What a bunch of horse crap. I’ve been using this app since its inception…used Daily Plate/Livestrong prior and moved over when they got rid of their news feed. Folks are going over to Lose It! app now.2

Very bad decision MFP. Take away the key feature that people really like. I have been using this app on and off since 2012. Seen a lot of changes but the newsfeed was the only thing that kept me here. As others have said there are better “ tracking “ apps. I am afraid that this is the beginning of the end.4

Mfp are clearly sticking with this idiotic stance. We'd probably have more luck getting the loseit app to improve their newsfeed offering than mfp not crippling their service.
For the record again, for people that use the newsfeed, this is particularly awful.6 -
Sooo frustrated trying to navigate without the newsfeed. ! Ugh. Sooo dumb to get rid of it. Smh. Feel free to add me ( anyone) trying to rest n RICE this Achilles tendonitis crap. Always something. Here for vocal support tho n cheer section lol0

Bring back the newsfeed!!! Seriously. Bring it back.3

I just wrote to the idiots on the board my reactions to taking away the newsfeed. Now I have no idea how my friends are doing and NOTHING to challenge myself with. This community blog doesn’t do anything and the private message access is just a path to your email.
I would have paid more for the storage necessary for the newsfeed. I have been a subscriber for many many years and I’m sick of the changes they institute without proper notification.6 -
I agree!! It's not a "barely used feature" as they say!!!6
