8/03- 173.4 Wow this round went by too fast! Happy to be at a lower number even if it’s not my lowest. I look at my graph every morning and I see the tiny amount of progress that I’ve made over the last few weeks.
It’s not as flashy as the big drops from the months before but it’s a success! In the past I’ve gotten discouraged during long plateaus.
I haven’t lost my motivation this time. I do know I just have to keep hammering away until something shifts. I know that it doesn’t happen magically, that I have to change something I’m doing. It’s also not as simple as just eating less.
Could be eating schedule, specific foods or nutrients, water or when/what exercise I’m getting.
But for now until I have the Aha moment I know that if I check in every morning, get on the scale and stay present on this journey that I’m winning.
Today is Horsepower on the Hudson so I have to get in a serious cardio kickboxing class to negate sitting on the boat for hours watching races! At least the only good we have is what we bring so that should help!8 -

My 37th round and will celebrate ONE YEAR of this challenge on 7/31! I’ll be crunched for time over the next few days because of family and stuff that rarely happens. Won’t be including my history, “July Level up” etc. until later this challenge (probably this weekend). I do plan to evaluate my year and create new aspirations moving forward. I’ll re-read my journal. I’m glad that 7/31 is my Anniversary and 8/1 is another FRESH NEW START. I have learned that each 10-day challenge is not a simple roll-over from the previous unless there is a conscious decision to make it one. After all, this is a 10-day challenge! It’s the opportunity to tweak the previous 10 days and re-commit to forming new habits. I’m really excited and thankful! Also, I am a totally 💯 different person than I was a year ago. If you would have asked me one year ago if I would do this …. Every 10 days… for one entire year, I honestly would have said no way would I do this for one whole year!!! But now, I 💯 would do it all over again! I never missed a day, I never stopped working on “Me”…. I’ve learned more than I can imagine… So for those just starting…… One day at a time, for 10-days WORKS! Good luck to all! And thanks for being REAL! I learn from EACH POST!

Positive day! Stepped out of my comfort zone with 20 lb weights. Great ST work out!
Protein too high. Two eggs before tennis, 8 Oz boiled shrimp @noon, protein shake mid-afternoon, and a tomahawk pork chop @6pm… All Under 1200 kcals…. I could’ve skipped the shake in the afternoon but forgot to log it and then big surprise last night! Will track track better today.
Slept like a rock last night… thankful! Almost back in the groove! #HSF

One last day at the gym with DGS…. Really felt like an OLD-Lady MawMaw yesterday! 💦good but heat bad. Too early right now to plan activity for the day, but will be more relaxed. I’ll definitely 🏋️♀️…. Want to finish 💪🏻.
One of my longtime girlfriends from my “group” celebrating her 65th tomorrow … need my shield of armor to deflect the debauchery. A crab boil - with all those yummy appetizers that are 1000 cal per bite & sweets w/ 10million carbs. 🤣. I’ll figure it out. Stay determined this weekend! A new month!

7/29 206.2 As July comes to an end once been reflecting on what I’ve done and what I need to do. I’m pleased with my progress, but finding areas I can improve like mobility and core. So for August I’m going to working on increasing my mobility and building my core strength with a focus on abs.
7/30 206.6 The past few days have been rough. I’m not eating during the day because I’ve been busy running around, so I’m finding myself really hungry at night and I’m eating more than usual for a single meal. I’m staying under my calories and within my macros, but I think I’m eating too late. I’m not giving my body enough time to process everything. Tonight I’m limiting my carbs, this is a killer for me at night, and I’m going to do better about eating lunch tomorrow. It’s about seeing patterns and adjusting.

I’m not ending this round where I’d like. Reflecting on the week, I’ve been stressed, it’s been hot and I’ve still managed to eat well, work out, and take care of myself. I’m working on having a little grace for myself that I didn’t lose much. One thing I have noticed is that I do better with the short rounds when I don’t make my goal a number on the scale. That was part of my stress for the 10 days. I was constantly thinking about what I should do better to lose more and at the end of the day, the answer was nothing. Tomorrow is a new round with new opportunities. Let’s go!6 -

I guess I did ok with lunch out yesterday. I did have birthday cake (red velvet with cream cheese frosting) last night, but it was essentially a “meal,” so my total calories were reasonable. I want to get out in my garden, but the Nextdoor neighbor is sitting outside smoking a stinky cigar and it turns my stomach. It’s an ongoing problem when he’s home in the summer. Luckily, he often cares for his little grandkids and doesn’t smoke in front of them. Anyway, my “gut” seems much better since I’ve stopped drinking coffee (waaa!) so I’m going to try a walk on the river greenway in a bit. Have a great Saturday!

A little progress! Headed out on a camping trip In the Sierras to a little town called Graeagle.. My three adult daughters and their families will join us as well as other friends. 08/02 -DNW- (Trend weightDNW) No weigh Friday for me due to medication and early rise day. Decent day yesterday but not perfect ( chocolate snacks). I had no real exercise other than being pulled this way and that with work crew and then DGS. Staying on track today so far. The heat is almost unbearable and with no air there is not relief! My guys are finishing up the 4 smaller windows on the (doghouse) dormers on the upstairs roof. Next week they will install the 3 larger windows on the two reverse peaks and the front of the garage. I feel sorry for them in this heat. I would love to get in some exercise later but I probably won’t because its just too hot inside and out. At the very least I could try to AT LEAST stick to my eating plan.
08/03 -188.4- (Trend weight189.9) I’m ending this round with only a smidge of weight loss but better than a gain this time around. I always say that my goal is any loss at all so I will square my shoulders and be grateful it didn’t go in the opposite direction. I did lots of right things but lots of wrong things too so there’s lots of room for improvement. You all continue to inspire me!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

End of Last Round: 172.0July 25 - 172.0 - New round, many opportunities to improve! Because I think I'm due for another drop, I'm going out on a limb and setting a goal, which I usually don't do. I'm going to try to get to 169.X this round. It's okay if I don't but I want to strive for it.

July 28 - 172.2 - I had some choice words for my scale this morning, but in reality, it's the popcorn with salt.
July 29 - 171.6 - 80oz water. I don't eat processed/packaged snack food, even healthy ones, because I have so many allergies, some life-threatening. I've tried the brands that are suppose to be allergy free of most allergens, but I just prefer to make my own so I know I'm totally safe. I made oatmeal muffins yesterday. I've been eating oatmeal in the afternoon to help with carb cravings, but wanted something different. I changed the recipe from sweet to savory by removing the sugar and addng garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika, which I seem to use a lot these days. I replaced the eggs with some buttermilk. They aren't great, which is good because otherwise I would eat 6 at once. Maybe that's how to stop my bingeing just make everything taste like S#%t. LOL However, they did the trick - something healthy but also something to munch on that felt sort of like a treat, and only 130 calories each. Not as much fiber as I wanted even though there are more oats than flour but next time I think I'll replace 1/2 the flour with pulverized oats.
July 30 - 172.2 - Back and forth. This was expected. I had to get up and eat at 3a this morning so I could take tylenol for a headache. Not only did I get the higher scale number, I still have the headache this morning - ugh! I'm going to blame it on the high humidity, even if it's not that, I hate humid weather! That is one of the changes I love about Maine compared to Georgia. I had so many sinus headaches when I lived in Georgia that almost stopped when I moved to Maine, and aren't as severe. Of course, the headaches stopping could also have been because I went from driving 2 hours a day in rush hour traffic and working in the office, to working for the same company but virtual in Maine. I am grateful though because I've been in Maine 24 years and have these headaches very rarely where in Georgia they were at least one a month.

Round goals: > 3 miles/day walking (1:00 time wise), more stretching as I'm having some aching and aggravation of knee and back issues, and trying to get better at golf (this is my year to actually learn how to play the game).
7/25 Thu: 193.7, walked 1:04, hit the driving range for golf. Still having problems with right quads and knee.
7/26 Fri: 196.2, walked 1:25, 9 holes of golf. Can't seem to shake leg muscle issues.
7/27 Sat: 193.4, no walking as spent the morning helping friends move and aft/evening on a casino bus trip. Didn't over indulge diet wise so that was a plus even if the aerobic exercise was missing. Got some strength work in moving appliances though.
7/28 Sun: 192.6, no walking but played a round of 9 holes of golf.
7/29 Mon: 192.4, walked 1:05 in the morning.
7/30 Tue: Didn't weigh, 1:30 walk and 9 holes of golf.
7/31 Wed: 194.9.
8/1 Thu: 195.6 (resorting to bad eating habits, have to turn this around). Walk 1:02, went to gym and had light upper body, eliptical and exercise bike, some time at the golf driving range.
8/2 Fri: 193.6, walk 1:03.
