Well Hello! Happy August! These groups are free?! Hmm interesting. I totally thought they were a premium perk.
I started a new job at the end of 23. After years of customer service on my feet for 8 hours a day I’ve gloriously landed a desk job! And very easily put on 15 pounds and watching it creep higher.
With menopause hitting, I know it’s only going to get harder. So I’m trying to head this off at the pass. Eating higher protein. Being more conscious about moving my body. Not ‘dieting’ but changing my lifestyle to match my new lifestyle! 😂

Starting the month with a small increase on the scales. Have weights again this evening. Beginning to wonder whether 3 x sessions a week is going to be enough for me to see the progress I thought I’d make. New month, new decisions to make – giving up not an option.

My non-scale goal is again to get on the trampoline every other day or half the days. I’m not super happy with my July results in the end so I need to give some thoughts as to why. I had originally committed to alcohol only once a week and it crept up over time. I’m pretty sure it stalls weight loss even when you measure it and it’s within your calorie limits. Trying to start August with positive vibes though, thus the message at the top!4 -

Last month I lost 12 pounds with this group… and I do feel it.
My jeans are looser, t- shirts not tight.. I definitely feel lighter on my feet.
My plan this month will be similar to last… its mainly the things I don’t do anymore is my main path to success.

Hey all! Got a text from my mom yesterday asking if my sisters and I wanted to go on a cruise this February. I’m going to use this to motivate myself to lose some weight.
I am 31. 5’5”. And 6 months postpartum with my second child.
My current weight is 208.6. My goal weight is 150. I don’t anticipate hitting that by February but I would like to lose around 30 to 40lbs by February.
Today is day 1. My goal for August will be to lose 10lbs.

August comes in strong, it's going to be a busy month, I must find the energy to have multiple activities and keep a good humor about it all.
Discipline is the key : Learning a new language, keeping the house clean, maintaining a routine for my babies, being prolific at work.
I'll be keeping the 10:14 intermitent fasting, and I'm going to commit to doing daily yoga. I'll need to find a time during the day or the evening, but it is required. I'll take it one day at a time, tracking everything in the bullet journal.
Ultimate goal: 73 kg
Medium term goal: Stop looking like I'm pregnant
Short term goal: Reach my pre-pregnancy weight 93.0
Initial June 13th weight: 103 kg
July 1st: 97.1 kg
August 1st: 93.9 kg

I’m kinda shocked. I’ve been doing all the right things (mostly … but I give myself grace too hahah which is why I’m surprised) and I’m spent will go up again. But I’m consistently below 150 which I’m happy with.
I’ve been loving chia seed pudding at my desk in the morning. Changing that from a muffin or pastry most days is bound to make a difference. And lately I’ve been loving what I call ‘loaded salads’. I’m not a lettuce fan so it’s all cherry tomatoes and peppers and cukes and red cabbage. Yesterday with black beans and cold leftover chicken. Yum! I’m full for the rest of the work day.
And we had been doing Hello fresh for dinner. Which puts me ‘over’ cw usually by MFP standards. But it’s a wholesome meal and better than take out. So I go with it and try to get a walk in. (Yesterday I mowed my lawn lol)
Slow and steady. Isn’t that the way?

My 2.5 year old back injury is finally showing real signs of improvement so I’m hopeful I can start lifting later this month. I love love love lifting and hate being on the sidelines. And my bike broke so I’m also without that now too until I get it repaired. And trampoline in the heat is not great. So maybe I need to hit a gym. Possibly Pilates. Need to figure that out.2 -

That’s awesome Aurora! I love those super productive days! I just wish I had more of them. And yoga during sunrise is amazing. I when to a retreat once where it was part of the itinerary. It was so hard to get up for but so so worth it!
Canadamarie it’s so nice to physically notice improvements. Back injuries are no joke! I want to start lifting but have never been that girl. We have a gym at work that’s free to use. I need to get over my intimidation and get in there.
It’s the weekend! And I’m headed to visit my cousin. I was supposed to be brining the kids. But my hubby didn’t want to go and they chose to stay with him. I should be happier about mom’s time off. And I will be. But I was looking forward to family time and I’m kinda bummed.

I'm a little bummed at the uptick, but I was positively starving yesterday, and I had watermelon around 2pm, and skipped my shake. Should have just had the shake. Today we're going for lunch with my parents, and it's going to show on the scale tomorrow, because I've been waiting for this pasta all week. But I know I can recover from this starting tomorrow - I've done great the past few days, and just need to keep it up.
@canadamarie I hope you can start lifting again soon! I totally understand being sidelined from something you enjoy.

I won’t be able to weigh in today or tomorrow. And perhaps that’s good. This is life after all. And we have to learn to be in the moment and enjoy them for what they are. There will be treats and snacks and it’s a weekend off. While I’ll be mindful and remember my goals. I’m not going to totally deny myself.
There were drinks by the pool and fire. But there was also lots of water and a sunset walk. There was an amazing meal of smoked brisket and potato salad. But there was a conscious effort to add in leafy greens and a larger helping of salad than typical so to avoid going back for seconds (and thirds because holy moly that brisket was good!)
While I miss my kiddos in an environment where we have spent a lot of time together. I am very much enjoying myself (as are they back home with dad)
so of course it all worked out in the end.
@AuroraUwU0 I mean this in the nicest way. But they most certainly will. And you want that of course. To raise kiddos with Minds of their own and choices. It’s all part of the process is all. And now that I’ve sloughed off the ‘mom’ skin for the weekend it’s all good. 🥰. Me time is essential on parenting too.
@SofaKween The wine and snacks may show but they also show your self care. It’s all a balance as I’m learning. 😊

I discovered a cool trick with MFP. It occurred to me you can put anything you want as a progress photo, doesn’t have to be your body. So on August 1 I logged my weight in the Progress section (I only log it there every few weeks) and as a photo I uploaded a screen shot of all my weight fluctuations I logged in this group. Now I have a record of the detail.
