I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.
Rnd 268 End Weight 173.4
8/04- 173.2
8/05- 174.6
8/06- 172.0 Woosh! Yesterday was spot on perfect and I could feel it. I was excited to get on the scale this morning, lol haven’t felt that way in a few weeks.
I was very conscientious about my water intake and I think that made a big difference. I upped my intake yesterday to a full gallon. I’m not the average bear and I’ve been an idiot about my water this season. I garden for an average of 6hrs every day and usually exercise 1-2 hours. I sweat a lot. I need to drink a gallon of water on work days.
I know I will bounce around but very slowly both the low and high number are getting smaller. I am at an absolute crawl pace for weight loss right now but I’m still in the game.
Getting together with the women from my boxing club tonight. We take summers off so it’s been a few weeks since I’ve punched anything.

@Zaxa2021: I am so sorry for you and your boys and hope that there are good treatment options for whatever they will be going through. Good for you coming back here- it's so easy to forget ourselves and our needs when faced with difficulties, and taking care of yourself will make life better for all of your family. Take good care of yourself

@UTMom81: I know you've had so much worry about your dad, and no matter what age or stage, it's a big shock to get that diagnosis. He's made a brave decision and I hope that he gets care that helps him feel the best he can. I'm thinking of him and of you as you face this together...4

I joined this group in Rnd 245 on Dec 18 2023, when I realized I was eating my way through the holidays; I finally got on the scale and was hovering just under 150 lbs. It took about 4 months to reach my goal weight of 125. Sounds great, but I’ve done this before, which is why I’m still here.
It’s not just about losing, it’s about changing the habits of a lifetime that keep me stuck in self-defeating cycles with food.

8/6: pre-logged my food yesterday and adjusted this AM; I liked it- makes me aware of my choices during the day. It's easier than backtracking afterward and figuring out what I did. I'll keep trying this during the week. New plan is to log on "regular" days, but not make myself nuts figuring it out when I'm out- just make good choices.
I listened to a podcast yesterday from "Half-Size Me" (thank you whomever here suggested it!) which hit a key note for me: maintenance is just like weight loss only without the "reward" of watching the scale go down :-) Finding ways to stay on track is equally important!5 -

✅Level Up! 🚫 no logging or 📝 since Friday 8/2 - I weighed 131.0. Yesterday:🚶♀️8k 💤6hrs
I went off “plan” this past weekend, but did NOT go “off the rails”. When I stepped on the scale I thought, I’m gonna weigh 135 and sure enough I was 100% accurate! I feel like a BLOB.
When I was out with the girls Sat, I was “good” but I drank 2 mezcals w/fresh lime… one piece of Keylime pie. Lots of mineral water… Yesterday we went to lunch with friends - had an “organic” Wagu pita sandwich and an ice cream cone last night. Still, plenty water. Saturday - 🚶♀️10k, 🏋️♀️ And I played three hours of tennis yesterday morn before lunch…. My body simply amazes me. Craves routine, then short-circuits when I choose to take a detour. REVOLUTION! It really is a total system and mine needs routine. I’m guessing it’ll take me three days off 💦💦💦and ROUTINE to remove the bloat. What a way to start a round!!
Will analyze “me” today, track and reset! Just give me EIGHT DAYS!

⚖️ I do expect ⚖️to drop more today/tomorrow… I literally saw puffs/pockets of fluid all over my body yesterday. What a trip! I don’t know what I ate that sent me into this zone … Maybe restaurant food, hidden seed-oils, crab boil, inducing wacko- bio-rhythms / “system-failure”. My body is probably saying “what the heck did you do to me?!!!!” To gain 4lbs and lose 2 practically overnight is NOT healthy. And, it didn’t feel good. I felt terrible - not psychologically for “going off plan/routine” but physically. Still coming out of the fog.
Yesterday was a good day re-entering normalcy. Continue to reset today.
NSV: Lesson learned: stick to what works to keep steady/even routine. I also learned that if something is too difficult to track – don’t eat it.

@UTMom81 You’re a wonderful daughter. Relish this time with your father. When I was caretaking my parents it was the most difficult/ trying time of my life… by far. But also the most poignant, filled with loving tender moments.
@skyleen75. Boxing?! Gosh I wish I had 10% of your energy. Congrats on the long-awaited whoosh/breakthrough!
@musicsax. Lovely photos celebrating family/community. Thank you for sharing.
All: feels trite (for me) posting about nutrition and striving for health when such hardship is surrounding so many here. Praying for courage and peace.4 -

First full day back from a trip. Ate better, but my main exercise was pushing buttons on the TV remote watching Olympic stuff. I get totally absorbed in the hopes and dreams part of it, with the follow-on resulting excellence. Why can’t I do that? 😊

Just tried some konjac noodles for the first time, quite tasty! Looking forward to adding it into other meals!
@Worthyhopper I use them when I make my spaghetti and am so glad I found them too. Great whether you are following low calorie or low carb. The brand I use is called Magic Noodle. It's important to rinse them before cooking but otherwise, they are truly a great alternative to pasta and come in several different types including fettuccini. Thanks for bringing it up. Others may want to try them for sure!2 -
I’ve been MIA the last few days, been so busy!! We have been at The British Transplant Games; little DGS took part in the under 5’s events, DH & I volunteered. Such an amazing heartwarming event for transplant recipients, donors and their families, all of us there have so similar stories, it is one big family.
@musicsax How well I remember the many many prayers we both whispered and shouted during his transplant situations(s). I love the updated pic. He's beautiful!
Happy birthday to your DH!

08/04 -189.2- (Trend weight 189.8)
08/05 -188.2- (Trend weight 189.6) I had to leave early for the blood work today out-of-town so I’m posting late. OMAD today but it was restaurant food. I had a bit of a scare while shopping. Bad sugar drop because it was before I ate. I had to buy something sweet but it helped get me through until I went through check-out and could drive to lunch. Lunch was big due to the food/glucose insecurity but the good side is that I was too full for any dinner. The work crew will be back tomorrow morning very early. Feeling very tired tonight but still feeling elated about the scale drop. I hope that scale is still my friend tomorrow. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little (okay, a LOT) worried about this week as 3 out of 5 of the weekdays I will be traveling.
08/06 -189.2- (Trend weight 189.6) I did end up eating a very late dinner last night (about midnight). So I’m flip-flopping that same pound back and forth. I travel Wednesday which will probably affect Thur. weigh-in. I also travel Friday which will likely affect Sat. weigh-in. It will be a volatile week but I will try to make wise food choices since the exercise front will be greatly affected. I really, really, really would love to do good this round in spite of it all.

Round 267
Female, 5'3.
Starting weight: 160.9
8/5: 160.9. Starting weight.
8/6: 160.6. Tiring day, this is a busy week for us. On top of several appointments, our water heater started leaking. The plumber came and said we had to get the stand that it sits on replaced before he will put a new one in. Since we rent, we are at the mercy of our landlord for how quickly we can do that. There's always something. My eating wasn't great yesterday, but I tried to control it a bit. I'm not doing much for exercise right now, but I'm planning to start adding it in soon.

8/4 208.2 The last week played havoc on my mental health. Between the stress of a sick cat, job woes, and frustration with this journey I found myself in a spiral this weekend. Yesterday I was close to throwing in the towel and giving up. This morning on my walk with the dog I reminded myself this is not something to “give up” because I’m making changes that will last forever. That means a rough week doesn’t negate all of the progress I’ve made over the last 3 months. I need to recognize the struggles and work through them this week. It’s a new month and new round with a new daily mantra reminding myself that the scale does not determine success. I do.
8/5 205.6 Decided I needed a better measurement than the scale to check my progress. I went to the thrift store and bought jeans in smaller sizes. When I got home I tried them on just to see how they fit, expecting all of them to be too small. To my surprise, one of the pairs actually fit. It was a little tight, but I’d wear them and feel good in them. My DH called the clothes my victory clothes and I’m in agreement with him. It felt like a victory putting on a pair of jeans that was 3 sizes smaller than the shorts I’d had on.
8/6 205.4 Went through my closet last night and tried on some of the clothes I’ve shoved in the back because I didn’t like how they looked on me (or I didn’t like how I felt wearing them). Added some to the donation pile because I still don’t like them and there’s no need to keep them. Kept a few because I put them on and felt good. I looked good.7 -

8/06 - 148.8 - Well then! I guess I've been doing pretty good. It has only been 1 day of my lower macros but since it's just carbs maybe that's it? I also upped my water a bit more, too. She still wants me to get 120+oz but yesterday I got 140oz easy. Also impressive since I'm incredibly sore from yesterday's leg day and usually that means water retention. Apparently I worked them hard despite having to drop weight and reps! Today was much much better. It had to be one of, if not the, best back days I've ever had! I'm going to feel this one in the coming days for sure. I also spent the evening researching and planning out my travel. I have Monday (airport) fully planned out food-wise to meet my macros and fiber goals. Tuesday I have breakfast planned, Wednesday I have breakfast and dinner (airport) planned. Tuesday lunch, dinner and Wednesday lunch are going to be out, likely with my team. I feel immensely better having that sorted. Having to improvise 3 meals is so much better (and easier) than having to improvise 8 meals! I need to make a plan for Thursday once I get back since I'll be getting home around midnight Wednesday night and waking up 6 hours later to work (because I have a meeting I can't miss simply because I got home late from travel. Different story if I was actively traveling during that time). I'll want to already have played that game of tetris so I can just look at my food diary to know what I'm eating. I'm creating things for my grocery list for travel prep (high protein oatmeal & protein bars for travel, fully cooked frozen chicken & steamable veg for Thursday/Friday after I get home for a quick and easy lunch/dinner - BF will have his meal prep since he'll be home). I packed my resistance bands and also booked my hotels- they both have a fitness room so if schedules allow, I can get in a workout in there. Otherwise, I can do a small body weight/resistance band workout in my hotel room. I'm determine to not fall off the wagon!

Previous Day's Comments8/04 - DNP
8/05 - Yesterday was a bit hectic with grocery shopping, meal prepping, and other errands and tasks I couldn't get done Saturday due to travel. I'm feeling pretty good, though, despite the travel, as the scale shows. I managed to meet my macros both Friday and Saturday so I went ahead and aimed to meet them for a full 7 days, win! Coach changed my macros today - she kept protein and fat the same (150g Protein, 75g Fat) and lowered carbs a bit (from 180g to 165g) which was nice because my meal prepped lunch and dinner plus my chosen breakfast this morning (breakfast is my "freebie" that I haven't prepped and can change around based on macro needs) plus my snacks got me within my 10g buffer of each! Win! Leg day was really humbling today. I had to drop a significant amount of weight on nearly every exercise AND I had to drop reps because I nearly failed out at my normal rep range. Not sure if it's a hormone-related thing or if it's due to travel but I simply dropped weight and increased reps to still get a solid workout in.
