Today I’m comfortably wearing a shirt that was way too tight 3 weeks ago. And my favorite pair of jeans are now too baggy to wear anymore. I’m maybe a month into actively trying to lose the weight and a couple weeks into logging my food, so I haven’t noticed any changes in the mirror. This was the best motivator to keep going!10

I shocked people when telling them my age. They thought I was at least 7 years younger! My whole life everyone has always assumed I was 10-15+ years older, so it felt so so good.
Also, this morning I noticed that even though I still have a little bit of a pouch on my belly, I can see my belly button without sucking in my stomach or holding anything flat!! Still a long road to get any hint of toned abs, but getting there!12 -
Went to the grocery store and did not fall into the trap of buying candy on sale. I had a good excuse too - I’m having people over Saturday night and surely a good hostess provides snacks?! But I know the risk is that I would have eaten it all in the coming days as my partner is travelling (always risky business to be home alone) and then gone for more.
So I thought about it, and knowing that I already had a dessert planned for Saturday I decided to pick up a bag of nuts instead, knowing that this is not something that will tempt me.
Proud of conquering another grocery shop!18 -
I realized about mid-way through the day that the pants I was wearing were too tight (buttonable but couldn't breath and they made me hurt from things being squished) a month but were comfortable enough to get through the day

I’ve found that my appetite has gotten much smaller, especially at night and I keep dishing up twice as much food as I can actually eat.9

I made half a pizza instead of a whole one and actually weighed and measured everything and it didn’t cost as many calories as I thought it would.14

Today I went for a walk. I walked at what felt like a good pace....I would call it brisk....but NOT very brisk. For fun, I set my timer to 20 minutes....the length of time this route took to complete 2 years ago. I am actually STUNNED that I finished in 14 minutes. Losing 22% of my weight has shaved SIX minutes off my time!! I'm walking up to the Community Centre this week for another weigh in. As a reminder.....I threw out my scale at least a year ago as I found it to be more of a hindrance. It took space on the floor and felt like clutter. It never seemed accurate when compared to public scales. I decided to use the large digital scale at a Community Centre just 2 blocks from my house. It's free and far enough away to be a pleasant walk but not tempted to go daily. I always snap a photo of the numbers and have never looked back! I put this out there for anyone who wishes to break scale dependency or wants a good measure of weight accuracy. Wear the same type of clothing each time, take off your shoes and take a photo of your weight. Initially I felt self conscious....but everyone is so busy exercising and the front desk staff have been friendly since day one. They smile at me....I sometimes say hi....jump on the scale.....and put my shoes back on. Try a Dr's office, or even a private facility...if the scale is near the front they might agree. I'd definitely recommend a Community Centre however!15

Went out of town with my daughter for the weekend. I was amazed at how much smaller I looked in the hotel morror (actually stood and stared for a good two or three minutes). For some reasom I didn't really see my reflection like that on the morrors at home. Isn't perception a weird thing?
As a bonus my mirrors at home now seem to reflect me a little differently.13 -
my blood pressure went from the 134/84 in March to 110/75 today.22

That is awesome, congratulations!!2

This sounds so insignificant but I normally had to choose between getting errands completed or cleaning at home.... but I did both for the 1st time in a long time without being exhausted.... (By errands I mean shopping in stores .. walking around a lot & not just driving from place to place....)15
-
@dec62269 That doesn’t sound insignificant at all, quite the opposite: I would call it monumental! Way to go, keep up the good work!8

I finally reached that point where when walking, my chest (as a guy) is the first point of contact with my t-shirt instead of my belly. I remember how awkward it felt years ago when my belly first began protruding out further than my chest. While walking, it created a friction on my belly that I hated and sadly got used to. No more.23

All my clothes fit again!10

I bought a skirt a few years ago when I was feeling "on track" on a summer sale. That summer I didn't had time to wear it. Then it hasn't got on me. But today it did and I love it.
Perhaps I should go through my "to fat for this"-box and see what else gets on?11 -

That is really, really great! Just keep going!!!!3 -
I noticed this week that I can see parts of my body that I haven’t seen in 5 years because my fat belly was in the way.10

I got completely off blood pressure medicine last year, a great NSV but I always felt I would have to go back on. Doc said this week, stop fretting over BP and accept the fact I'm off the medication. I needed to hear this.14

For the past few months I've been dealing with some major physical & mental health issues. I'm exhausted and short on motivation, and everything I have to do feels like a superhuman feat. I've used food to "cope" a few times (that never works). But I haven't given up, and I'm not losing sight of my goals. I haven't gone back to the despair, reckless emotional eating, and general self-sabotage that would have ensued in the past. I'm seeing doctors, looking for solutions, and taking care of myself as best I can. To me this is huge progress. I will continue getting better. Some days are better, some are worse -- I just keep chipping away at the issues instead of throwing in the towel.19

Bittersweet, but can no longer shoo at Torrid!4

A colleague who I don't see every day pulled me aside and commented that she noticed my weight loss. I was very surprised.7

Last night I ate a restaurant meal for the first time since I've started my weight loss journey, and I stayed within my deficit for the day. Firstly, I didn't go for the bread and butter (once I start on that I can't stop). I stuck with a diet Coke instead of an alcoholic beverage and cut my 8-ounce filet mignon in half ( I'm eating the second half today for lunch). I demolished the grilled broccolini! I had two SMALL forkfuls of the vanilla ice cream-topped fudge brownie. It was a really enjoyable evening, my husband and I's 34th anniversary!20

Congratulations on that NSV, and on your 34th anniversary: That's great!4 -
Thanks Ann!1

NSV #1 - I am still here. I did not make wise choices this past week, but I kept logging.
NSV #2 - Today I went on a long bike ride (26 miles) with my sister and BIL since we were all off for the holiday. I got home and immediately ordered a pizza... And ate the whole thing in the course of the afternoon 🤦 and a slice of pie I made yesterday. Then I went for a 20 minute jog tonight (I do not normally do so much in one day but when the weather gets cooler I get this weird antsiness (not a word) to go jogging). I decided to put all my food and stuff into MFP just to see how it turned out... I was under! By a good amount! Do I recommend doing this again or planning on doing it another time? Not on your life! But I think a lot of times when I quit logging is I have days like this and it throws me off and I don't log for a while.
NSV #3 - After my jog this evening I did a quick 11 minute stretching video and I felt super limber. I was even able to get into a full back bend for a few seconds.
Here's to a week of better choices than the last!12 -
@takinitalloff - I'm sorry to hear of your recent struggles. You have been a huge inspiration to me. Remember, you have come a long way and have learned a lot along the way. You're a strong women now and I know you will get through this. <HUGS>

On Sunday I joined a group hike for the second time (and second week in a row). They did a 28km hike at a good clip and I clocked 41000 steps over the course of 7.5 hours (with 1 hour break total). It was a bit further than what is enjoyable strictly speaking but I’m ever so pleased that I had no trouble keeping up.
As I said this was my second week joining in, last week was 19 km and since I had absolutely no issues I felt emboldened to just go for it this week. Hoping to join again in the near future!12 -
Thank you @Veta2018 I appreciate your kind words (and the hugs too)! Yes I have come a long way and I intend to keep going7

I found a really lovely dress from French brand Busnel. It was soooo nice I just had to buy it even tho it is in size EU38M / US6. It was too small when i bought it.
Yesterday I tried it and i could get it on me. It did not fit well, it did not look very good BUT IT GOT ON!!
I'm sooo motivated to get that dress to fit me well!
(Mine is black)
