I had my bloodwork done and my A1c went from 7.4 to 6.4!14

Walking out of a store today, I heard a guy behind me: “Excuse me Miss?" ... I turned around and he followed up with: "I wanted to ask if you’re spoken for?” 😍 Oh my!12

Yesterday I took my training sweater off and trained in just my training-bra because I felt comfortable in my body. That has not happened before regardless of how warm and sweaty I have been.11

I was out with a meet up group and I was mentioning how cold it was in the venue, only one other person seemed to agree it was cold. Then one of the other ladies said to me 'it's because you don't have any body fat". My jaw almost hit the floor! What? I look like I don't have body fat? Definitely an NSV.14

I changed my goal weight from 60kg to 70kg to 80kg because I realised if I work on strength and muscles, I don't need to drop as much weight and I'll be able to eat more! My bmi will be higher, but I'll still look pretty lean if I keep working at it! I think I'm 173cms.10

I've been trying to tame my sweet tooth and eating less junk. I've noticed recently that I'm starting to get a headache when I eat pastries and some candy.

I’ve gone 5 days!
no after dinner snacking
no middle of the night snacking
🙌 building new habits, even ones you’ve already built before, takes time…14 -
My brother in law said it looked like I've lost heaps of weight! he's been away for three weeks. The truth is, I've overindulged in that time and put on about 4kg lol.4

My blood pressure was routinely high when I was still obese.
Most of the time (sadly), the medical assistants (MA) who take BP at appointments don't follow the proper procedures (let the person sit a bit before measuring, make sure they're sitting upright, legs uncrossed, and more). Even so, my BP has been solidly normal almost every time since weight loss.
Today, the MA followed the proper procedure at my doctor's appointment. My BP was 117/72.
I'll take it.

That reminds me. I’ve been wondering about BP readings. I’ve got guns these days, and when I get a BP reading it feels like it’s going to squeeze my arm off. I always get readings above normal. Should they adjust the darn cuff to accomodate muscle? I sometimes wonder if it’s that, or me stressing over the painful readings that’s bouncing the numbers up.
Anyway I came here with an NSV.
Just finished up five weeks of travel to exotic places. I think I had Covid for a few days and then got hit with what I’m calling Temur’s Revenge. Nine days and still not over it. And that has morphed into joint pain and swelling. I’ve been feeling like dog squeeze between irritated swollen joints, painful digestive bloating, and dehydration from good old Temur. Just been feeling a scrambled mess.
Our youngest daughter is here visiting. She only brought a couple changes of clothes so I’ve been washing them on repeat. She came in looking for her black Levi’s, and I told her I hadn’t seen them.
She looked at me in utter disbelief and said “Mom!!!’ You may not have seen them but you’re wearing them!”
Sure enough, I was wearing her black Levi’s instead of my black jeggings. That explained the tighter than usual button and the lower cut.
I was a.) pretty damned relieved to know my own jeans hadn’t gotten that tight and b.) pretty damned chuffed I had not only gotten into them, but worn them half a day before we noticed.17 -
My cubicle neighbor bought a two pound box of Sees candy to share with everyone. For those who are unfamiliar, it is the West Coast's highest quality chocolate. They've been around since the '20's and come in all sorts of flavors. IMO you can't get a bad one in the bunch.
I've been staying away and haven't even been tempted. I have my eye on the prize. Determined to lose ten pounds by New Years Day. Walking every day for at least 30 minutes and keeping my calories at 1400-1500.19 -

Way to go. Sometimes those tiny treats are the hardest. I am not really motivated by sweets, and I can usually walk right by them. Maybe stop for a sniff. My challenge is salty crispy things.
That said, I had a weird dream last night about office food. Note that I've been retired a couple years. I also got a "new" (quite old but in good shape) pickup truck, and I gave a friend a ride to work. When I got there, I didn't have to go to work because I'm not working anymore (got that right) but there was a HUGE table full of commercially bought and home-made snacks from rice crispy treats to brownies to chocolates to cheesecake to crispy salty things to... You name it. Someone gave me a large sack and told me to please take as much as I wanted. Here's the weird part; I filled up the sack, got in the truck, and started to chow down on my way down the road.
Very weird.
Weirder? When I woke up, I could swear I tasted sweets in my mouth. I couldn't have done any sleep eating; I don't even have sweets in the house!
We have a local chocolatier that makes See's look more like Hershey's. Family business. They've only been at it since 1938. I do sometimes have one of theirs when offered. For a while, the woman who cut my hair had a studio upstairs from their retail shop. I never went in.6 -
my current NSV is telling someone that I have a child who will be 35 this year and the look on their face when I told them I was 53. I've lost 100lbs and it's made me look and feel younger than 53.18

Being able to zip up and comfortably wear my winter coat. The past few years I have just put my hands in the pockets and kind of held it closed. I was too embarrassed/ashamed to admit it didn’t fit.14

New personal record total ascent on my gravel bike, at least since I've had my Garmin device. It was more than double my previous best, and I think that was not even on the gravel bike. It was on a longer road ride a couple years ago.
The ride still kicked my butt even though it was only 7.2 miles

I tried on a dress I haven't worn in a while and it was much longer!9

I used to have weird dreams about eating "forbidden" foods like brownies when my diet was too strict. I'd dream I'd be reaching for something and wake up all anxious and confused. I haven't had a dream like that in decades, thank goodness.7 -
Made my famous pumpkin pie yesterday and was able to stop at ONE forkful!15

I got this pair of Helly Hansen pants for black Friday last year even though they were painfully tight to wear.
I tried them on yesterday and they fit PERFECTLY now.
Now the only sad part is that if I continue losing weight at this rate, this pair of $300 pants (even though I got them for $50 on sale) will not fit anymore a month or two from now...just means I have to wear them literally every day until then 😂13 -

Congratulations. Hopefully, you will be able to alter your pants to enjoy them for a longer time.6 -
I made a new personal best record! 6.2 miles! Longest walk workout ever, according to my Apple Watch 😉 Yayy!!17

I walked to the back of the yard 5 times and back, I walked up and down the stairs without holding on.
Start Weight 9/5/24 347 lbs
Current Weight 324.6 lbs
Goals: Under 300 by Christmas 2024
End goal: A decent weight, a decent size, and a healthy lifestyle!23 -

I peeked at your profile, I grew up in the town you live in. Family still there. I was intrigued because my grandparents used to gift my family with chocolates from there and told us that they remember when it was founded, in 1938. Good thing I am far away up north, but there is the danger of online ordering, hahahaha.

Recently ordered a few things online, looked at recommended size took a deep breath and went with smaller size. Everything fit, no returns needed, did a victory dance!10

This is embarrassing but my snoring got so bad with weight gain that my partner had to start sleeping in a separate room. I'm down 16 lbs and now he's sleeping comfortably next to me again. I have nightmares often but when he sleeps next to me, I sleep safe and sound. I know it's such a little thing we take for granted sometimes, but it really is the little things!17

I went to the gym today for the first time in 8 years. It was so intimidating but I went in and did my workout and left. I’m going to aim to go to the gym three times a week.16

I hope you get over feeling intimidated. There will always be people who are more fit and more athletic than you. As you go more often, you may realize there are also plenty of people less fit and less athletic. The good part is that EVERYONE is moving in the right direction and taking action to keep it up.
I went yesterday just to get back in the habit of going more often. I don't go in the summer; too busy with outdoor activities. I had a few options of what to do, but since there was a lane open, I got in a nice swim. The bonus was I enjoyed it! Build that habit and smile when people recognize you.10
