Saturday: long day but good. Spent it at my daughter's, we watched the Morton Pumpkin Parade, and then went to the carnival. Had a wonderful time, but got a touch of heat exhaustion. Good food choices, but went a bit over on salt/calories.

Today: long but good. Church, then groceries, then made egg fried rice and Kung Pao Beef (both recipes from Aaron and Claire). Invited son, DIL, and grandkids over for dinner. The recipes were delicious!

Pizza protein bar: I haven't made experiment #3 yet, but I bought the ingredients for it so it'll be tomorrow or Tuesday I think.

@sherryreuter great choice on a healthy salad, and fun getting fall decor up.

@cinw1502 welcome home and happy belated birthday.

@jm216 great job, keep up the good work.

@lislisa congrats on getting under 300.

For the new people I write a reflection on how my prior month's weight loss journey went. Here is mine from August for anyone that cares to read.

    August Reflection

The highly anticipated terrible August came and as expected was kind of a wash. I had a wonderful time โ€“ but it is now time to get at it. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly truth.

First and foremost, I lost 1.1 pounds this month. My steady shrinking is still in play โ€“ I have lost every month since I started this weight loss journey. That being said, I made it by the skin of my teeth My birthday, girls trips, and anniversary all happened this month. Phew!

Exercise was better this month. I got the green light to start unseated exercise again in August and gradually increased my steps to an average of about 12-14K steps per day.

I reached the 1,700-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging about 200 miles this month, as we speak am at 1,720 miles. My tracker says that I hit my goal in Mid-October. My second goal of hitting 2,024 intentional miles is coming along โ€“ currently at 1,337 miles, 66% of the goal. Itโ€™s just shy of where I should be (67%), but if my body holds up โ€“ I can do it.

I am more determined than ever to get this done, and I hope that September will get me to the ideal BMI range (just 2.5 pounds to go). Then as I mentioned last month, will see where I end up as my goal weight when I get there - 100-pound loss or January 8, 2025 (my two-year starting date) whichever comes first.

My before and after pictures for August - not the best pictures - but didn't take too many in August.

    kd1o1lhxc3hu.png

    My Goals for September:
    • Get to ideal BMI Range (140 pounds)
    • Alternate Cardio and Strength
    • Average 14K Steps per day
    • Continue Physical Therapy Knee exercise โ€“ every other day
    • Make up miles for intentional 2,024 in 2024 to ensure that I make it

    ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚

    Week One
Sep 1- 142.5 ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚I had a set back with my knee yesterday. Switched my strength exercise to a seated one, and couldn't get on the treadmill without pain - so was below my step goal. Iced and went to bed early - feel better this morning but will take it easy today - going to call it my rest day! Did my budget and my reflection (both not pretty this month).

Sep 2 - 142 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Knee is feeling much better, iced whenever I was sitting on my bottom in front of the tube! Got my intended exercise done, a little bit of cleaning done. A productive day.

Sep 3 - 142 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Beautiful day in CT. Got in our normal AM walk, then cleaned out the front garden. I weeded out the front flowerbed, getting ready to plant some fall mums. Picked some basil and made some tomato/basil sauce - it was just ok. Next time, add some more spice. Then it was bingo night with mom. I didn't win, but won the half time trivia contest and the door prize - I'm rich $20 (I spend $30). LOL! Mom was in a grouchy mood - her hip is bothering her AND she didn't win. โ˜น๏ธ

Sep 4 - 143.1 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚ Let's just say I did to myself and I'm not proud about it. It was one of those can't sleep days, and binged while I was up. I know it's temporary if I can turn it around today. I am not going down this road again where I get close and then sabatoge myself.

Sep 5 - 143 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Another night of no sleep, didn't binge - but did eat late. I justified it because I had calories left in my day - so today adding another tracker to my list - eat within my eight hour window. I have an orthopedic appointment for me knee today, hoping another shot will help with the soreness.

Sep 6 - 142.5 ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Orthopedic appointment well ok. Dr is submitting a request to insurance for a gel injection. It is supposed to last about 6 months. We talked about another cortizone shot, but she thought this might be a better for me. We discussed surgery again for the meniscus tear - but she doesn't think that is the best solution at this time - the repair could make the arthritis pain worse. Also talked about just using over the counter ibuprofen - but I don't like that option. Allyson's diswasher wouldn't drain, so we went to her place after the appointment - the motor is shot. Picking up a new one and installing today. Then tonight Allyson is coming for the weekend - celebrating Greg's birthday - dinner tonight and we are going to see a play tomorrow. I'll try to stick to the plan!

Sep 7 - 142.5 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Happy with that number. We ordered in for dinner in - asian. Did well, ate 1/2 my entre - some endamame, and a spring roll and then a Yogurt Sundae (greek yogurt with mixed fruit, whipped cream, and some granola on top) for dessert. I tracked as good as I could and with my light BF and Lunch came under! I'm out again today - going out to lunch before we go to the play - checked out the restaurant and know what I am going to order - Arugula and Beet salad with goat cheese. Expect a rise tomorrow from the two days out - fingers crossed it won't happen.

    ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚

    Week Two
Sep 8 - 142.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ Had a wonderful time yesterday. Started the morning with our usual walk, it was a cool morning, the leaves are just beginning to turn, lots of acorns on the ground. We met a family with two golden doodles on our walk. I always think we should get another. Dad says no way.

We went out for lunch and my plan for the beet salad was squashed - not on the actual menu (just on the internet). I had a wedge salad instead. Greg and Allyson ordered some pretzels for an app - I had one bite. Then Greg and I split a Tirimisu (I ate most) for dessert.

The play was phenomenal. One of the best that I have seen in a long time. Great music, and ALL the cast was so talented, not just the lead. It's based on the true story scottish born singer-songwriter Johnny Reid's grandmother of a coal miner's widow raising three boys with the help of her close knit friends.

Today - one more day of celebrating Greg's birthday. The Friends of Lake Pocotopaug is a group in my town that's mission is dedicated to the improvement of the Lake Pocotopaug and its environment. They are having a wine tasting fund raiser. There is an island in the middle of the lake, a privae island available for rent. It has a main lodge and five guesthouses. We have floated my many times but have never been on it. The tasting is on the island. Looking forward to it. There is a snack with it (I'm expecting cheese) and will call this my lunch.

Sep 9 - 144 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ The weekend festivities caught up to me - although I stayed under my calorie limit - being over my sodium limit a couple days in a row will get me every time. I will need to flush it out for the next few days.

Sep 10 - 143.3 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Bingo night with Mom, resisted the goodies - noone won! Had a hearing test done yesterday, getting my hearing aides adjusted this morning. A little worse than last time - par for the course. Then not much going on - guess it's a housework day!

Sep 11 - 142.3 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Nice swish this morning. Hearing aids adjusted, doesn't sound any different to me - but will have to do. Today getting my gel injection, then we are going to see Reagan this afternoon. It's Greg's actual birthday today.

Sep 12 - 141.7 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Another nice swish today and my first smile in a while. Rest day yesterday; my knee was pretty sore after the injection. I got in a small zumba workout later in the day, and did a seated stretch workout as well. I really enjoyed the movie. Dennis Quaid and Penelope Miller did an outstanding job playing Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Today we are going out on the boat with my sister and brother in law. Trying to soak in the last of summer while its here. It is supposed to be a beautiful day here today, high of 80, sunny, light winds.

Sep 13 - 141.4 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Beautiful day on the water yesterday, then out to lunch. I had a salad with grilled chicken, and then had a light dinner to make up for it. I missed my step goal again, and also didn't do my knee stretches which was in my plan. My knee was/is pretty sore still from the injection. Although I did earn this trophy yesterday that I was happy about - 1800 miles in my quest for 2,024 in 2024 (walking not running).

Sep 14 - 141 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Another nice day in Connecticut. Went for our morning walk. Then went out for another ride on the boat, trying to take in the last days of summer. Got my steps and workouts done. Cleaned a little, all in all a good day.

    Week Three

    ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚

Sep 15 - 140.7 ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚ Got it all done, nice walk in the AM, cleaned the bathrooms, relaxed a little soaking in the sun, then did my workouts in the afternoon. I tried a new Youtube channel that @lislisa123 (thank you) recommened in another group that I am in - it was fun. I like the ones that they don't talk through the whole workout. I did one with 5,000 steps.

    https://www.youtube.com/@IngridKick

Sep 16 - 141.2 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Sleepless night, ate outside my time. Still under on the calories, thnking my body is adjusting. I tried a new skinnytaste recipe yesterday that was yummy, but higher in carbs than I am used to. Perhaps that was it. Today we are getting the driveway sealed, so Greg won't be joining me on my walk this morning. Just Monty and Me! . I will miss him, the morning conversation makes the time go by so fast! Here is the Skinnytaste receipe - homemade Hamburger Helper. The Skinny Taste receipe uses low fat cheese, reduced fat milk (I used skim), and just a 1/2 tsp salt. Although the calories are higher than I usually have for dinner, the serving size is 1 1/2 cups. I was satified with a cup.

I doubled the onion and garlic (we like it), and used tomato paste instead of sauce. Also, I cooked the noodles the 8 min in the broth (it calls for 8-10 min) and then the second cooking time with the milk just ONE minute (not the 8-10 it says). The noodles were just right - in IMO if you cooked it as written they would be way to mushy. Next time I might add some canned tomatoes or some fresh peas in at the end for color. Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

No whoosh yet on that sodium gain. I work this morning, and while I'm at work Allen will be at his cardiologist getting the heart monitor. After work I'm not 100% sure of my schedule, whether it'll be laundry or meal prep or both. I'm tired, didn't sleep well, so this afternoon may include a nap. I think that heat on Saturday took more out of me than I realized. Tomorrow is the dentist for a cleaning, and more meal prep.

@ilive2walk - I'm glad you liked your hamburger helper recipe, and I hope you have a serene walk with Monty. I did have a wonderful weekend, thank you; and my daughter invited me to go clothes shopping with her on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to that.

Good Morning! I'm Jenny, 59 years old and 5'6". I reached my goal of 55 pounds lost back in June, but my vacation in August, other travel and a new very stressful job has sent my weight creeping above my goal weight of 175 - I actually vowed to keep my maintenance window between 168-173 and never go above 175 again, and I obviously have not achieved that...so back to what was working so well before, weekday strictness and some group accountability!! I know by Day 3 I'll be feeling much better, I just need to START! I'll be traveling again this weekend, but if I can get the train back on the tracks during the week with some kind of moderate daily exercise and intermittent fasting that will make all the difference for my brain.
Sept 9: 183.4 - YIKES a full 10 pounds over a week or two ago!! I am confident it will drop quickly this week with a water whoosh if I stay the course. This is what happens when you throw everything that was working for you out the window and allow the binge monster back into the house...but I started the day with a good Burpee Girl tabata workout (on Youtube) and a 15 minute yoga stretch with the Down Dog app. Those have been my go-tos for a while now, and they help keep my head screwed on straight in terms of making good choices the rest of the day! Hope everyone has a great day!

Sept 10: 180.4 - Ok I knew yesterday's number was "fake" but still it's a relief to see it go down. :) I was spot on with food & water, and just did a 30 min. BG cardio/weight routine with a 15 yoga stretch. It felt fantastic! A good start to Day 2! I'm expecting a little bit more of a drop tomorrow (I retain water like nobody's business when I'm being unhealthy) and so hopefully back in the 170's and breathing a little easier. Hope everyone enjoys their day!
Sept 11 - 178.4 - Back in the correct decade! And as usual by Day 3 I'm like "what was my problem? this is not so hard!" Had to make it a shorter workout today with all the work stress going on but I am determined to maintain some personal boundaries around my health and make sure I get some kind of movement in no matter what.
Sept 12 - 177.0 - I was up 3x to pee last night so had a feeling that water weight was not quite flushed! I will say I feel a million times better than I did on Monday - the past 2 days I've actually looked forward to my workouts and I feel overall not so depressed and overwhelmed by stuff going on at work or at home. Now if only I could remember that the next time I decide to plunge headfirst into the abyss! I'm traveling tomorrow so will probably be MIA until Monday, when I'm sure there will be another jump - but will be conscious of not undoing all my hard work this week! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sept 16 - 180.6 - Weight is up as expected after a 3 day weekend and travel...the good news is it's not fully back to what I was last Monday so I haven't totally undone all the work I did last week. I expect to get back to my low of last week maybe by Weds, then hopefully get below it by Thurs/Fri. We shall see! Regardless it was an amazing weekend - spent time at the beach and had such a fun time, great meals, too much alcohol but seriously FUN TIMES. Back on track this morning with a Burpee Girl kickboxing cardio workout and yoga stretch...as long as I can get back into the habit of getting RIGHT BACK ON TRACK I know all will be well!

Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

    https://www.skinnytaste.com/recipe-index/?_search=hamburger+helper

Sep 17 - 140.9 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Nice night at bingo. Everyone won (something). Mom won twice - which put her in a great mood! My older sister and I each won a game, and my younger sister won the half time trivia game, plus the door prize. I came home with $20 more in my pocket! LOL! I did indulge in a bag of Sun Chips that was calling my name - didn't put me over calories or my sodium goal, but did put me outside my eating window. I am much better at resisting the sweet goodies on the table - but my younger sister brought a variety bag of chips! It's a good thing I left some wiggle room!

Sept 17 - 179.8 - Not as much of a whoosh as I would like, due to me overeating yesterday - healthy foods, but too much. Mondays can be hard! So let's see how Tuesday goes - got a good cardio/weight workout & yoga stretch in, so far so good!

    SECOND HALF OF THE MONTH

09/16-193.6-(Trend Weight 191.8)- Another emotional day that I didnโ€™t end up handling well food-wise. No sleep last night, no TMI. Nothing seems to be going right. It can only get better from here!

09/17-193.8-(Trend Weight 192.2)- I finally managed to have an overall good day except for exercise so what I am showing is likely a no-TMI fluctuation x 2. I chose to visit my sick older friend once the renovation crew left. She is still healing from the last fall which broke a bone in her neck and two in her back. She is also resting from completing her chemo and radiation treatments for lung cancer (previous smoker quit 2007) and will be getting a consultation soon about immune therapy. I took her a wonderful cappuccino and declined to get one for myself. I drank water. NSV! I woke up a little early this morning so I could do a youtube exercise video before the crew arrived. Starting my day in the right mindset and am confident that today will be another good day. I need two in a row so badly! Tomorrow I travel to see an eye specialist to find out more about the wrinkle in my retina and the bleeding blood vessel. Iโ€™m not sure what, if anything, can be done but I guess Iโ€™ll find out. As if the puppet wrinkles around the corners of my mouth werenโ€™t enough! So, travel this week is Wednesday and Friday which should complete my September appointments for myself and son. Then, my great plan is to kick *kitten* and take names and get the (weight loss) job done. Iโ€™m not liking how my clothes are fitting again. However, my cat is happy. Sheโ€™s kneading on my tummy again. Thatโ€™s my cue!

Just popping in real quick to post the pizza protein bar recipe! nnwv390pqqz6.jpg

    Pizza protein bar

Imagine a meatloaf that tastes just like pizza, and it's in a square that you can pick up and eat with your fingers: that's what these protein bars are like. The recipe is very forgiving, so mix and match your favorite pizza toppings. It is also allergy friendly and can be made gluten free, egg free, vegan, or dairy free (see substitutions below the recipe). Love cold next-day pizza? Eat these cold right out of the fridge. Love your pizza piping hot? Pop these in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Are you a freezer meal pepper? These freeze well after baking.

    Recipe makes 16 servings
    Total prep time: 30 minutes
    Total cooking time: 45-55 minutes

    Approximate nutrition values (including options):
    Serving size: 1 square
    226 calories per serving
    12.7g protein
    12.1 g fat
    15.5 g carbs
    3.2 g fiber

    Ingredients:
    2 cups old fashioned oats
    4 eggs, beaten
    12 oz ground fresh sausage
3/4 cup sweet bell pepper, finely diced
1 cup yellow onion, finely diced
    8-10 pepperoni slices, finely diced
    2-3 tbsp Italian pizza seasoning
    1 cup marinara sauce
    3 tsp grated Parmesan cheese
    3/4 cup shredded mozzarella
    1/4 cup flour
7 oz riced cauliflower (fresh, frozen, or pouch)

*Optional, for added protein & fiber:
    2 tbsp golden flaxseed meal
    3 tbsp hulled hemp hearts
    2 tbsp coconut flour
2 tbsp superfine blanched almond flour
    1 tbsp chia seed
1 heaping serving unflavored protein powder

Preheat oven to 350*. Spray an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together as if making meatloaf, then press into square pan and smooth the top of the mixture. Bake 45-55 minutes, checking for 160* internal temperature to make sure the meat is fully cooked. Cool pan on wire rack; cut into 16 squares.

    Substitutions:
Gluten Free = use gluten free oats and 1 to 1 gluten free baking flour mix

Dairy free = use dairy free shredded cheese and nutritional yeast

Egg free = omit eggs, increase chia

Nut free = omit almond flour

Vegan = use vegan shredded cheese, plant based sausage and pepperoni; use soy protein isolate

    Week Two
Sep 8 - 142.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ Had a wonderful time yesterday.

Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

    https://www.skinnytaste.com/recipe-index/?_search=hamburger+helper

Sep 18 - 140.5 ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•›๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚Quiet day yesterday, other than my walk in the morning spent most of it at home - pretty much the same planned for today except a quick run to the grocery store for a few things. I finished binge watching Outlander on Netflix and will need to wait until 2025 for Netflix to get the next season. I know it is on on STARZ, but I'm not paying for any more TV! Now I noticed that the next season of Call the Midwife is on - so that is my next treadmill show!

    There's the whoosh๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ˜€

I have looked back on my weight and it's actually been within the same 2 pounds, up and down, for all of August and September so far. I'd like to lose but at least I'm not rapidly gaining. I'm not talking that as a win, but as a tie. Salt is still the bane of my existence as far a the scale goes. It's very hard to stay within the sodium allowance.

I've been trying a new tactic to fight the snack monster. Instead of eating only 3 meals a day (and sometimes only 2 which had been my habit), I'm working toward eating smaller meals, 200-300 calories, every 2-3 hours. I'm finding mostly success with it, as far as not experiencing the intense cravings and then overeating, and then feeling overfull after a meal. It definitely requires meal prepping so that I'm not pantry surfing or eating 100 calorie processed food. But I still find that I want to munch popcorn while I'm reading in the evening after dinner. I had 3 successes and 1 failure with that. I can plan the reading snack in, I just need to stop when I've reached the limit and not go back for more. It isn't hunger that's driving the reading snack, it's chewing pleasure, a comfort thing, because I love to munch while I read. So I just need to be firm with myself about the portion control once I've had my snack. That's always, always the case.

I also finally faced the procrastination item on my to-do list, to learn how to thread the Singer Baby Serger sewing machine. My regular quilting sewing machine does have overlock stitches, but I've tried them and it's extremely slow to sew knit fabrics on it. So I borrowed my daughter Margo's serger machine, since she isn't into sewing right now. I'm just not very familiar with using them so I'd been putting it off. But I found a very good video on YouTube walking step by step through threading the 3 threads on the machine, and I'm ready to tackle that and the sweater alteration that I've been wanting to do.

@jennysweet58 - so glad you enjoyed your weekend getaway.

@ozdeelite - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get better soon.

@ilive2walk - congrats to your mom on winning twice at bingo. Great job on planning for bingo snacks. Yes to be treadmill shows. I'm glad you like the recipe.

@deepwoodslady - great job choosing water over the cappuccino, and getting a YouTube exercise video done. I hope the eye specialist can help you!

Hi Everyone. I had blood tests done recently and my kidneys arenโ€™t functioning, I have anaemia, my thyroid is low, and my cholesterol is high. The doctor thinks itโ€™s due to chronic illnesses and further tests are required. Iโ€™m sick of being sick with fibromyalgia and now my kidneys are packing it in too.

Iโ€™ve quit my new job - too much strain on my body due to hours of domestic tasks and Iโ€™m in serious pain. I will continue doing shifts at the nursing home but My focus is looking after my health .

    Week Two
Sep 8 - 142.4 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ Had a wonderful time yesterday.

Sep 19 - 140.2 ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿง‚As expected a nice quiet day at home. I did have a restless night, and ate outside my window - but still under calories. Tonight we are going to an open house at a condo complex that I have been looking at for a long time. They look beautiful, single level, pool, exercise room. This not the one - some have garages and that is something we want to hold the toys and this one does not. But I want to go inside one, they look so different in person than they do on the computer. I also want to pick up the rules and regulations - can't find them online and hoping that they allow you to park a boat in the complex. Greg is still holding out for a house - but we have been looking for three years and haven't found one.

@cattherien I had the same issue in July and August - just keep at it - it will come. I also have changed my eating this month - and it seems to be working. Sometimes I think our bodies just want a change.

@deepwoodslady I love my youtube exercises - I use them daily for my strength and higher intensity cardio workouts. Somehow doing them along with the people on the tube makes them go by faster. How did your eye doctor appointment go?

Well that little whoosh was unexpected. ๐Ÿ˜€ I don't necessarily trust it. I was over on my calories yesterday so that number will likely go back up tomorrow.

I work today, then for sure going to tackle that alterations project when I get home.

@ozdeelite - {{{hugs}}} well gosh, kidney dysfunction and hypothyroidism explains some things you've been experiencing. I hope they can find out more and come up with an appropriate treatment.

@ilive2walk - good luck with the condo open house tonight. And thank you for the encouragement!

09/19-194.6-(Trend Weight 192.6)-I got home so late last night that I didnโ€™t have time to actually post but I did weigh yesterday morning and today so Iโ€™ve documented the weights. It was a long day doing the medical trip for my eye issues. My eye issues will eventually require surgery but itโ€™s very risky and they want to wait until it is absolutely necessary so Iโ€™m to go back for rechecks every 6 months. The condition โ€œeye puckerโ€ is more common in women than men and is actually caused by old age. Itโ€™s an actual wrinkle in the back of the eye caused by an eyeball collapse of sorts. Old ageโ€ฆ.Humph. Itโ€™s more common in women because we usually live longer. They said I am pretty young (age 64) to have this condition but my eyes are aging more rapidly due to T2 diabetes. The surgery would involve removing the jelly in the back of my eye, pulling up a pucker and then filling the gap with an air bubble. What the scan looked like was an even line like a beach of sand going straight across and then suddenly a big triangular sink hole was in the center then back up to the straight beach line again. That sinkhole needs to be pulled back up. I will put a link below with what I found when I googled it this morning for anyone interested. I had never heard of this condition. I also have the start of a cataract in both eyes pretty evenly. That will also wait the doctor said as they are just beginning. Also, I have a large floater. Good news is that he did not find any bleeding vessels the other doctor told me I had. Gosh, this T2D has really wreaked havoc on me. Avoid it at all costs my friends! I was first diagnosed in 2007 when I quit smoking and very quickly gained a lot of weight. This makes losing weight all the more important to my body. Iโ€™m proud of how far Iโ€™ve come since then (I weighed 253 at one point for a very long time). However, I still have quite the road ahead. Iโ€™m planning a very careful day today to offset the overnight gain from yesterdayโ€™s trip. More travel tomorrow to my sonโ€™s dental which is about 75 miles each way. Lunch will likely be out again. Iโ€™ll try to keep it to one meal although itโ€™s going to be another long day as I have quite a few things to do in that town in relation to my renovation. Heโ€™s the link I mentioned:

Hi all. I already feel healthier switching back to smoothies - berries for antioxidants, and greens ๐Ÿฅฌ. With kidney issues I might need to stop drinking coffee which is cruel because I love coffee!

Itโ€™s going to be awhile before I know exactly what is happening- kidney functioning at 42% is not good at all. Anaemia is treatable I think and hyperthyroidism also but Iโ€™ve still got to have more blood tests before I get referred to a specialist.

    September weigh in.
