    Good Late Evening

I did get out and walked with my partner.....got 5,700+ steps in of the 6,000 I have set as my goal. He also took me to do a couple errands and I bought us dinner....chicken from Royal Farms. I was not impressed....don't think he was either. Won't be going back there.

Phillies lost their first game....that was not fun to watch.

Watched the season finale of The Rings of Power. I am enjoying it.

Tomorrow I want to make a pot roast in the crockpot. I found a new recipe so I hope it comes out.

Supposed to have one more day in the high 70's and then cooler weather moves in....YAY!

    Till next time...

    Happy Sunday y'all~

I'm visiting with my friend in Yonkers. The weather has been gorgeous, and we've been out enjoying it.

    Time for a nap!

Hello, all. I’ve had a steady few days, getting walking and exercises for my new knee in. I went to my gym and got in a good workout. I’ll go twice a week for now—I’ll find it challenging to be “our so late” if I don’t get home until 5 or 5:30–12 hour days, those!

I have 2 siblings in St. Pete and both have evacuated to sister in GA for Milton. One was only back a few days from her last evac. So challenging.

Sara, thanks for your kind words. It is their job and they need to do it. Any chance Monster is leaving?

    Stay safe, all.

    Good morning!

I had to take a Melatonin last night, but it did it's job....slept till Alexa woke me up at 9 to take my Jardience. Then I did the prep work and got my pot roast in the crockpot with the veggies. Should be done by 6.

Have to do another water change in my aquarium....ammonia is back to normal but nitrates are still too high. Need to test my tap water for nitrates. Will add more distilled water this time as it has no nitrates. But my betta Kai is doing fine.

Another humid/cloudy day. I hope tomorrow the sun comes out.

Think I'll make a hardboiled egg sandwich for lunch....didn't have breakfast.

    Have a wonderful day, all!

    Good afternoon,

Tweeked my back at work and said this is crazy, I am going home. I have to spend tomorrow all day at the clinics and their chairs are not that comfy.

I made a version of pot roast with parsnips/carrot/onion/garlic. I say version because I do not need a whole roast so I get slices of roast which also makes good teriyaki.

Okay I am trying to keep good thoughts for the Phillies, and also trying to send good thoughts for people in harms way with weather. Long list to ask for in my daily gratitude. I dont always hit all the points.

It is 95 and we are told tomorrow is the first day of better temps. I really hope so.

Wishing all a good day. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Hey Y'all~~

I'm getting here late on a Monday. I was up in Yonkers with my friend Mary until this afternoon. (I became close with her only after we both retired from the same field in 2016 and 2019.

My friend has had medical challenges in the past, including lung cancer (never a smoker!). But recently she suddenly went downhill (can barely walk?) and learned that the severe pain in her right hip is a degenerative thing and she need to have some hip replacement as soon as some dang kidney problem is cleared up.

She is a couple of years younger than I am--67? I asked her how her bone density tests have been over the years and lately.
Good grief - she told me she has never had a bone density test. I was floored!!

I was cool and calm about it, but come to find out that she has had it recommended to her, but she simply hasn't gone because her mother never had any bone issues. *slap forehead soundly!*😳👀😳‼️

This woman goes to doctors in New Jersey close to the Hudson. They should have their *kitten* together, but either they haven't bothered to insist on testing, or my friend is a total idiot about this. Good grief.

When she told me this today, I kept my mouth shut. I was in shock.

Ladies, get your dang bone density tests!!! Gah!!!

Crabby Lana with barely-decent bones because of the aromatase inhibitors because of the ER+ breast cancer at age 60......we all of us need to take care of ourselves!

    Hugging all of you 🤗

    good afternoon,

Lived through the obstacle course of 3 dr apt today. Didnt take pain med with me so it was the first thing I did when I got home. My chair is in a box outside my front door....

Lana- thank you for bringing up bone density, never has anyone mentioned it to me dr wise.

hot hot hot 99 again and we are told it is the last day. I really hope so as this stinks.

Will see about using music or podcasts with earbuds to get more steps in.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Good Evening!

I have agenda from the Phillies. All I can do is hope for the best tomorrow.

My doggie had his "spa day". He looks great now. I wish I could groom him myself....I even bought rechargeable clippers. But I made a mess of him, so I pay someone to do it,.

Lana, you can rant all you want. My Dr. had me get a bone density test done a couple years ago. I have osteopenia, not osteoporosis. And I have a degenerative disk in my back, although I kinda knew that. I can walk distances with no problem but I can't stand in one spot for more than a few minutes. Makes standing at the sink or in lines at the checkout difficult. I bought one of those canes with the seat attached. I don't need the cane at this point, but the seat can come in handy. But that's a big reason I need to lose weight.....to reduce the size of my torso.

I did the water changes for my aquarium and tested the water....everything is good now. My betta Kai and my 2 snails seem happy. I also tested my tap water for nitrates...negative. So I assume the spike was due to the accident dumping of food I did last week. So I am glad that has righted itself.

My appetite seems to be shrinking finally. I had lunch, but really wasn't hungry for dinner. So I had some dried fruit and a diet iced tea. I had a snack a little while ago. So it's water until bedtime.

    Until tomorrow....

    Good Afternoon!

Just had brunch out with the significant other.....an omelet with avocado, bacon and cheese. Had the home fries, too, but I am still on plan. Will probably have ham for dinner. And lots of water.

Dr. appointment this afternoon. I have a feeling he is going to refer me to another Dr because that's what they do.

Going to take a walk later.....I need one. Till tomorrow, take care!

    Hello All~~

Yes, Sandy - we need to get some weight off of our bones! Glad to hear that your aquarium is all balanced and happy.

Sara - I hope that cooler temps have come your way today.
How are you liking your new chair?

    Good evening,

Chair is in box and needs to be assembled. I needed help getting it in my place, so it like the elephant in the room.

Yes the temps are wonderful and almost hot cocoa time - I have been seriously kranky, so I am appreciating cooler temps with a lot of people.

Scale is up and for right now I am dealing with my back and when I can get those extra steps I will.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

Hi! Quick stop by. Got to see the aurora borealis this evening. Was very cool to see and was on my bucket list. Of course I thought I’d have to go to Alaska to see it but because of the solar flares got to see it. Which idk if I should be more amazed by the natural phenomenon or concerned about the flares?!?

Lana- I’m not sure when I should be getting a bone density test. It wasn’t suggested for my mom until after she got the breast cancer and her cancer doctors scheduled her for it.

Hope everyone has a great night!

    Good morning all ☀️

Sara - Gee, I hope that your back heals quickly. It's debilitating to be in pain. Big hugs 🤗

Missy - Boy oh Boy - you certainly were fortunate to see those northern lights--especially in the red/pink, which I'm told are more rare. My friends in Mattapoissett saw them too. The Northeast got a wonderful treat!

Well I'm 60% of the way home to Chapel Hill. The drive from NYC to Fredericksburg, VA was so much longer than expected. I left at roughly noon, and got to my hotel at 7:30PM. I did stop three times along the way, yet 7.5 hours to go 300 miles was nuts. It was all volume, hardly any construction and no accidents. I'll be glad to be home tonight.

Waves to all who stop by later on~~

    Good morning!

Had a busy day yesterday. I housecleaned and redecorated my bathroom in a butterfly theme (by Avanti) with accessories I had been collecting for the past year. New shower curtain, bath mat and towel set, ceramic trash can, toothbrush holder, tumbler, covered pot, vanity tray and tissue cover. I also came across butterfly wall decals at Dollar Tree. And I got a butterfly switchplate and Wallflower. The bathroom looks great! It may look a bit like an old lady bathroom, but I am an old lady, so what the heck? 🤣 My significant other thought it was beautiful. The last thing I have to get is one of those cabinets that sits on the floor over the commode for added storage. That is coming soon. Can't wait!

It was great that gemwolf110 got to see the aurora. Someone in my town very nearby got photos but I didn't see anything. Will try again tonight.

Sorry to hear about your back Tilliesmommy1....I can empathize. Hope you are back to struttin' your stuff real quick!

I wish my anxiety didn't prevent me from driving distances like you, Lana. Continued safe journey home!

Had 2 low blood sugar episodes yesterday.....that was unusual. But all is back to normal now.

Have a great day and a good Yom Kippur to those who observe.

    Good evening,

Back is doing better and so getting more steps is in my sight again.

Slower weekend coming up. Will troll the discount stores for food pantry items and other potential things.

Bought snacks from Amazon - raw almonds, unflavored popcorn in snack size bags, protein bars (chocolate/banana). My concept of healthy at the moment.

Safe travels Miss Lana and being home is a relief.

    Hey everyone!

I just joined this community in hopes of getting more motivation! I used to struggle with anorexia, and now have a BED. I’m working on healing my mental health and body!

This time around, I plan to lose a REASONABLE amount of weight and maintain it!

    Good morning all~~

Boy is it great to be home again.

    Welcome Heidi 🌷

Sandy - it's exciting isn't it to have a spruced up bathroom!? Good for you~

Sara - That's a good idea about searching out the panty bargains.

As for the bone density tests, I don't know what the guidelines are nowadays, but I know I was having them done regularly after the age of 50 & menopause.

Good morning. Cool, clear, and almost crisp here in Charlotte.

Missy, amazing pics! What a beautiful color.

I’ve had a week of progress, mostly just avoiding the last minute eating before bedtime that was “eating into” (haha) my calorie deficit.

I went to the gym this morning and hope to walk later.

Feels weird not to be sweaty!

    Happy Saturday!

Tilliesmommy1, glad to hear your back is doing better! And I find Amazon is great for picking up snacks...they have a lot of things you can't find in stores.

Heidi, WELLCOME! Good luck with your start and keep sharing/posting!

    Glad you're home safe, Lana!

Decided to stop into our new Five Below yesterday. I was a bit disappointed. It's not like other Five Belows I have been to in the past. I wanted to look for books, but that section was sorely lacking. I did pick up a couple stuffed things for the grandkids. Maybe closer to Christmas it will be better.

Made an Impossible Quiche with Bisquick. It came out good and I will make it again, but I will add more seasoning next time.

    Enjoy your day, all!!

    Hello again!

A lazy Sunday....but I really do need to do some straightening up in my bedroom. And break up a bunch of Amazon boxes...,they accumulate fast. After the Eagles game.

I accidentally paid my utility bill twice....duh! Oh well....they aren't going to give it back, but I won't have to pay next month.

Chicken, leftover spinach and a baked potato for dinner. Need to get more salad greens.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    Good Afternoon!

Got in my walk a short time ago.....3 miles, 1 hr. I do take about a 10 minute break halfway through (but I account for that during my workout). I hope eventually I won't need it. This was a great day for walking.....breezy and cool.

Plan on coloring my hair today....it needs it....LOL!

    That's all for now....have a good one!

    Good Morning!

Fall is finally here....for a little while, anyway. Temps are supposed to go back up into the high 70's again, I believe this weekend. I prefer walking in cooler weather. I might get a shorter walk in today....probably across the road to the shopping plaza. It's nice to have one of those within walking distance.

I did color my hair....not sure if I like it or not. Maybe it will grow on me.

I put winter cover on the window a/c outside. I can't remove it....too heavy and the installation was done by others than myself. I will just have to make sure there is enough insulation to keep the heat in when the time comes. But I am enjoying NOT running the a/c or the heat.

    Hope everyone's day goes well.

    Hi all!

My class started yesterday. Was a hectic start because my oldest dog the little bichon was diagnosed with diabetes over the weekend and had to be hospitalized and she came home last night been interesting having to give her 3 shots a day until it’s controlled and the 3 different eye drops twice a day for her eyes as they were dry and had a small infection. Probably from the diabetes and she has cataracts. I’ve been working from home to monitor her and give the insulin. She’s 14 years old. Poor pup. She should be good once everything is controlled.

Hope you all have a great day!

    Good Afternoon!

Missy, I am sorry to hear about your doggie's diabetes diagnosis. I am on insulin and my daughter's cat is too, which is tough for both of them. She is a nurse and works 12 hr. swing shifts but they are coping.

Got in a mile walk...walked to my significant other's house to feed his cats and do litter duty. Half mile each way. It's interesting....when I walk, I feel energized and that's good because it makes working around the house easier.

    Hope all are well....

    Hey Y'all~~

Sorry I've been MIA. I'm just out of it. I need to go back and read...

Missy - Poor Kiara! I hope that she is coming along. You are a good mother to her 🩷

Sandy - you tried a new color? Are you getting used to it?

Maureen - yes, it is downright cold now in NC. Sounds like your knee is healing well.

Sara - how are you doing?

I need to get out there and walk. Going now ➡️

    Good afternoon,

It rained today - nothing we could measure but still. Nice Fall symptoms.

Trying to increase my steps to 8000 and so far it is working.

I could take a nap or walk, I think walking will do me better and I will sleep well. Now if the outdoor late night entertainment would stop (helicopters etc).

Missy - hugs for giving little one shots.

Lana - is it time for new recipes?

I have laundry going. Bought new sheets and socks - sock drawer will be tackled.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Good Morning!

Ever have a day when you just want to veg out? I know....silly question. 😂

Lana, the color didn't take properly...the greys are still there. I emailed the company and complained....they are going to send me out a free color set, which is good. I am having them change the color to something a bit darker.

Have to do cat duty for significant other again as well take in mail and papers for my brother again....have to close up their shore house. He assures this will be their last overnight trip for the year, he thinks....ha, ha!

I will be watching my 11 year old granddaughter this Saturday while my son attends his cousin's wedding. This will be the first time I have done this since they live in Boston. She may stay the night but not sure yet. In any event, I am looking forward to having some quality time with her.

I broke a piece off one of my crystal candlesticks last night....knocked it over by accident. I cried. If I turn it around you can't see it, but I still know it's there. Might look and see if I can find an identical one online.

    A good day to everyone!

Hi all. Great pics, Missy. What a gorgeous sky.

I’ve been logging nearly 2 weeks again. It helps. Down maybe 2 lbs. I’ve been so tired after working a half day o haven’t been keeping up with knee exercises as much. But I hope I’m slowly building some stamina that will help when I return full time.

I hope you all all well.
