    Good evening,

I was thinking about the cabana club at work today and how glad I was to have the chance to go there.

Have tomorrow's crock pot stuff waiting making cowboy stew -sausage/ground beef/frozen veg/baby potatoes/ onion garlic. Recipe is for 6 so I can have some variety in the freezer.

Wind - good for smog but not for fire danger. !970's hit (still wondering why....) "Windy" - everyone knows its Windy..... Got a nice beat and helped me walk home the last couple of days.

Steps are low, and I am tired. Tomorrow I will keep trying.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

Good morning. Another lovely fall day. I slept in until 6:30. Walked btw 8 and 9 and now reading. I’ve been down 3 lbs consistently in the past 2 weeks.

I am lifting weights at the gym-went yesterday. Hard but not too hard, and I’m a bit sore today in my arms. Will be glad to see results in a few more weeks. It doesnt take long to see progress at first.

I just had my son drive my car to give to my daughter for a while. She really needs one. She is about 10 hours north of me. I miss her and my grandson and really wish they were closer.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

    Cheers,
    Maureen.

    Hey there everybody 👋🏻

Sara - You must be exhausted from the dancing yesterday.... you wore those Boys out! 💃🏼 🌴
    You just relax today~
Your cowboy stew sounds good 😋

I am tired today. I want to lay down for a while, but the lady up across the street is having a new roof done. Maybe I'll just do a jigsaw puzzle on the quieter side of my house. I just don't have the ooommmph to go hang out at the library. It's all abuzz with early voting.

Waves to anyone who stops by today~

    Good Afternoon...just.

Slept in today. Got a shower and just had light OJ for breakfast. Not sure when my son will be dropping off my granddaughter but my ex announced on Facebook that he is on his way to the wedding, so it shouldn't be too long. It's a beautiful day for a wedding, that's for sure.

Lana, I was SO happy to find a replacement for my candlestick on Ebay, but it's a pair. So if I break another one, I'll still have a spare. 😁

Tilliesmommy1, Windy IS a great walking song. So is "Takin' Care of Business". 🙂

Everyone have a great Saturday, wherever you are.

    Hi all!

Long week. But the pup is going down to 2 shots tomorrow because there isn’t any ketones! She (and I) will be very happy.

First week of class is done tomorrow. I’m exhausted already 3 assignments due. One done, one half way done and the other eek. I just didn’t have the brain power this week to do it. I sat down to do it but nothing would come to put the stuff together.

    Have a great night everyone!

    Happy Sunday All~

Sandy - That is great that you're able to restore your candlestick situation. I understand about breakage and loss; with some things, it's not the item itself, it's the sense of loss it brings. So yay for you!

Missy - So glad that your little one is doing better. I hope that things turn out well for you with the assignments. 💓

    Good Afternoon!

Watching the Eagles game. Not happy already.

My son came by to get my granddaughter this morning. He picked up breakfast for everyone. He stayed for awhile so we had a nice visit. Laughed a lot (we always do when we get together). Was sorry to see them go, but they will be back for a week at Christmas.

Made chocolate chip cookies last night. Sent most home with my granddaughter, but knowing my son, he will get a good portion of them. I had a couple after they left, but made sure I took a healthy dose of insulin beforehand.

Down to 2 shots, Missy...that's great! Glad to hear things for your pup are improving.

Lana, you are right. I am a bit on the obsessive side and that broken candlestick would have bothered me. You can find most anything online anymore. 😁

Have a nice rest of the weekend, everybody!

    Hello everyone~

Sandy - where does your son & family live? Glad you got a visit with them 🍪 😋

I tried to vote yesterday, but the lines in the sun were very long. I'll go again today in the mid-afternoon.

    Good Morning, all!

Lana, my son and family live in Boston. I think he would prefer to live down here but his spouse is rooted in that area so he stays. I don't like traveling alone, nor can I afford a hotel to stay up there, so I only see them a couple times a year. It's tough, so I appreciate any time I get with them.

Eagles WON....and the significant other's Giants lost to them.....bwaahahahaha!!!!

Not too much to do today.....the apartment is clean and straight, which is nice. Do need to do a water change in the aquarium, though. Dinner out with the SO later.

Hope y'all have a good Monday!

    I am a serial starter.
    I am a serial loser.
My health is a yo-yo life.
I need to lose before 2nd knee surgery. I lost it before 1st knee surgery, and it was a good experience.
I know WHAT to do - I don't do it.
    Not a good day.
Wanna change - know how - but don't.

    Hi @dew11252 !

We have all been there....and some, like me, multiple times. I lost 50 pounds on MFP over 10 years ago, but gained back 30. I came back twice before and failed.....but not this time.

You have taken the first step and you already know what you have to do. Yes, doing it it is the hard part, but you did it before, you can do it again!

And none of us are perfect. We slide back on occasion, but you get right back on track and move forward. Never look back.

I am diabetic and that is one of the main reasons I need to lose weight....shooting up insulin 4 times a day gets old fast. I can't stop being diabetic but if I can get back to controlling it with oral meds, I will be satisfied.

So start logging your food, and feeling accomplished. One meal at a time....one day at a time. And come back here to post....we have some very supportive people who understand and are happy to cheer you on.

Hi to all. I’m waiting on new glasses and can’t read posts very well-and not sure my message will be properly spelled, either! Lots of blurring, but my new specs should be here soon.

Still logging and all but 2-3 days have been under my goal over the past few weeks.

Have had knee pain off and on, so didn’t walk today. So much easier to walk in the morning. I’m even thinking of switching to middle school next year. Report time is 8:30 am vs 6:45 for high school, where I teach now. I get up by 4:30 and still don’t have the time I need to walk bc school starts so early!

Anyway—I’ll keep logging, walking, and lifting. I may try to walk and lift tomorrow since I’m still on half days through the end of October.

    Take care, all.

    Good Afternoon!

Been having some difficult nights....the last 2 kept waking up with panic attacks....fun times. They stop eventually....I hope tonight's the night. Might have to take a Melatonin.

Didn't get out to dinner yesterday....SO had a friend who got rushed to hospital but turns out it was vertigo. We are going out tonight instead. Need to return a pair of sneakers from Amazon...they were supposed to be red, but they look more like purple.

Did the water change in the aquarium....water tests are good. My betta is happy.

I ordered a starter Wandering Jew plant. Haven't had one of those in many years. I really don't have the room for another plant but I'll find a place for it.

    Have a good rest-of-the-day, all!

    Good evening,

Buying comfort food, right now its cottage cheese and raisin bread. The list will grow dont worry. I am trying to keep the seriously bad things off the list.

Missy - puppy down to 2 shots. That is wonderful. I know you found a way to crank out that last assignment.

Sandy - I focus on the sound of my breath or the ticking of the clock when my mind wont shut up in those early hours.

Almost mid week - my job cannot be that exciting. I have Friday and Saturday off for the out patient surgery I am having at a seriously early hour on Friday.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Good Hump Day Morning!

I was expecting to see my weight up this morning after having a box combo at Cane's, but no...stayed the same. That's a win for me....and goes to show that one not so healthy meal doesn't sabotage your plan. Back on the stick today.

Tilliesmommy1, I did have one small panic attack falling asleep last night but I breathed through it and it disapated. No more after that. But I still had trouble falling asleep. Hoping that improves.

@dew11252, happy you had a good scale result! And any movement is good movement. Keep on...I know you will.

Lana, hope you got going this morning! 😉

I bought a loaf of Dave's Killer Bread yesterday. They have a new kind...smaller, thinner slices, so fewer carbs. I plan on using it for making French Toast for future breakfasts. I use Waldens pancake syrup on it, which has no calories or carbs. Makes the meal very carb friendly.

    Have a good one, all!

Welcome! I had RTKR on 7/17, scheduled for LTKR on 2/12. Also trying to lose for my knees. I want to resume running and don’t want to be overweight for that. I have 40 lbs to get back to the healthy weight/bmi range.

How did your first surgery go? When’s the 2nd?

Sara - sending good vibes for your surgery tomorrow!! 💫✨💫

Sandy - Are these panic attacks waking you from a sleep? Maybe you have sleep apnea?
Whatever it is, is this new? I hope that you can get this treated.

    Good Afternoon!

Me, doggie and SO got a walk in earlier so that was good. Did have breakfast at the diner, but nothing unmanageable. Got my replacement candlestick so all is right on my dining table again. 😉

Lana, I have had chronic anxiety since I was a teenager. It's changed some as I've gotten older. I don't have sleep apnea, thank goodness! And the nighttime panic attacks only last a couple nights then stop (last night, nothing...I slept good). It happens usually once a month. I have been treated for anxiety/depression for years and all the meds do is make you a zombie....and I have tried them all. So now I just deal with it. Someday maybe they will find a miraculous cure for mental health issues, but it will likely not be in my lifetime. In general, I am a lot better off than other people who deal with similar issues. It just gets frustrating when it happens.

It's a quiet afternoon now. I think I will work on organizing my hall closet...I have a little more room in there since I gave away one of my air conditioners.

    TTFN!

Good evening all. I cut my usual walk short a bit today—just so stiff after work. I’m toying with a 4 am walk. I won’t be the only one out, I know, and I’ll have a dog with me. Not sure I can make myself get up and out before coffee, though. I guess I’ll stick with what I’m doing until it gets easier.

I’ve had 3 pretty good weeks of logging and keeping to a deficit, even if a small one sometimes.

    Take car.

    Good Morning!

mkculs13, sounds like you are doing great...keep it up!

I got up a little early to prepare a marinade for a chicken dish I am making for dinner and thought I had all the ingredients. I did.....except one.....cumin. I didn’t even have turmeric to substitute....grrrrr. Thankfully I have an Aldi across the street from my apartment so I ran out and got some. Chicken is happily marinading. SO will be the sous chef later....he makes the salsa topping for the chicken. He can handle that....I don't trust him with grilling the meat....lol!

Wasn't hungry for breakfast.....just had a cup of OJ. Will eat leftover tuna for lunch....save my appetite for dinner.

World Series starts tonight. Hard to root for someone when you really like either team. SO is a Yankees fan, so I have to pretend...ha, ha.

    Have a great day, everyone!

    Good evening,

Surgery for moved to later in the morning which was fine. I have spent day inside listening to podcasts. Means I can fall asleep when I need to. After two good naps and something resembling food, things are doing better.

Scale not friend, but I am at least not becoming a couch potato. Okay today is an exception and I can watch soccer games starting tomorrow.

    Good Saturday Morning!

Tilliesmommy1, hope you are feeling good today!

My energy level seems a bit low today....but blood sugar is currently 101, which is very good. At least I cleaned up the kitchen last night instead of waiting until this morning, so I don't have to deal with that. I used some of my depression glass and you have to wash that by hand.

Would like to get in a walk today....if my energy level increases. We shall see.

    Enjoy the day!

    Happy Saturday.

    Sara, what surgery?

I walked a bit this morning and turned back early—knee pain. Not awful, thankfully, but enough to make me crabby if I persist.

Went to the gym; end of week 3. My arms are so weak! I knew that, but having this confirmation is not necessary, haha. I feel I’m in a routine I can maintain. It’s not my favorite thing, but I don’t dread it. I’ve had to accept I won’t walk a lot at once—too boring. But I can go back to hiking and eventually jogging and so walking some for now is enough. Also it makes me manage my diet better bc I don’t have many extra exercise calories to play with.

    Have a good evening.

    Good evening,

I had a d&c done as things were off and my ultrasound showed things I shouldnt have post menopausally. Will have to see what lab tests reveal. I am taking anti depressant that is often used for women during menopause - I will have to see if that contributes.

My Dr said not to do much this weekend. I am okay with that. I have Monday off and work back on Tuesday. Age is not helpful in bouncing back.

Dinner was chicken salad with 2 pieces of raisin bread toast (no butter it was still good). Actually quite nice.

More soccer to watch tomorrow and will wrap up like a mummy and keep warm. After church of course.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

Good morning. I slept 10 hours, which is so rare for me. But my weekends are getting more like that. Idk if it’s the knee wearing me out more or age. I’m just glad I can manage to get extra sleep.

No real plans today, although writing that makes me want to make a plan. I think it might be wet out (haven’t looked), though. That won’t stop me from walking in the neighborhood, but I won’t risk a lot of mud with the knee still healing.

    Anyone else have plans?
