    Howdy, all!

@mkculs13 , I had planned a walk, but that didn't happen...my energy level is down today, despite sleeping well. Maybe tomorrow. I need a good long walk.

Lana, SO was not happy again last night. He is an optimist, though....thinks the Yanks can still do it. I have my doubts.

Sara....keeping good thoughts for you. Rest well!

Did put in a load of laundry and am keeping tabs on the Eagles game.

For the last few years, my son has entrusted me to do Christmas shopping for the grandkids, which has been a great pleasure and lots of fun. Who doesn't like to shop when it's not your money?.....lol! It's not quite as easy as it could be, though. My granddaughter is the only one who doesn't have a disability....my grandson is autistic and overactive. My other grandkid is also autistic although she is very smart and is a grade ahead in school. But she has to be on a very strict schedule every day. So I run a lot of ideas by my son to make sure the kids will enjoy their gifts. My first granddaughter is like me....she likes crafting so that makes it real easy. I have a bunch of gifts for them coming from Amazon tomorrow.

I was surprised to find a container of spaghetti sauce with meatballs I made in the back of my freezer! That will be tomorrow's dinner....tonight is chicken bites.

Have a good rest of the weekend!

Good Afternoon....and thanks, Lana! Hope your day is going well! And everyone else's!

I did something I hadn't done in 10 years. I walked 4.5 miles....got in 10,000 steps. Walked to the CVS to pick up a prescription and back to my apartment. I was exhausted but felt very accomplished. I won't be doing that again until I get more of this weight off, but I wanted to prove I could do it. And I get a few extra calories today to work with, if I want. But I'll stick to 3 mile walks from now on for awhile.

    TTFN!

Sandy, good for you. I’m just so tired today. Skipping my walk.

M CPAP wasn’t working right last night so I didn’t wear it. That’s probably why I’m so tired.

I’ll walk Tu/Thu and the weekend and lift Wed. and Saturday. Should walk more but I just don’t have it in me yet. Starting back full time on Thursday and plan to walk as soon as I get home each day. Three day week (off 11/4 and 11/5), and then a 4 day week (off 11/11) so my return to full days will ramp up gradually. Hoping that helps.

I see a hematologist tomorrow about my blood clots.

Still logging and trying to avoid eating over maintenance. Really struggling to keep the full deficit each day. I need to cut calories more gradually too, I guess.

    Have a good evening, all

    Good morning!

Thanks, Maureen! Hope you get your walk in. I know how tough it can be. I have less energy than I used to, what with the diabetes and age. And I have neuropathy in my feet, too. But we are strong and we do it....one step at a time....literally.

I hit a milestone when I got on the scale this morning. I hit it when I was on my failed Ozempic experiment, but it didn't last when I had to go off it. Now I know I don't really need Ozempic....and that makes me feel good.

To all who check in later, hope your week is going well!

Sandy, that’s great. I’ve gotten down to 180 3 times, stalled, and regained. I want to be very mobile in retirement and losing the weight will make such a difference.

I’m feeling a bit down today. Yet another doctor’s appt where I have to get on a scale. I know I’m fully clothed, shoes on, and just had lunch, but is so demoralizing. For a long time I wouldn’t look. I guess I’d better go back to that.

On a more positive note, my hematologist said I can get a massage but to skip the calves.

    Have a good evening.

    Good Morning!

Thanks, Lana! And I hope the extra sleep helped.

Thanks, Maureen! You will get there again....I just know it!

This will be short. I have to make drive to my egg lady for 2 dozen more eggs. Can't walk there....much too far. But maybe someday. 😉

    Gotta pay the rent, too....ugh!

    Have a great day, everyone!

    Good Morning again!

It's supposed to go up to 80⁰ today. No coats or jackets for Halloween this year.

Gonna try and get me and the dog out for awhile...we both need the exercise.

For those who check in, hope your day is a good one!

    Happy November!

I hope everyone had a nice Halloween. My daughter lives in Philly and she took video of her block. The fathers get together there every year and decorate from one end to the other....its amazing what they accomplish. They even put skeletons and tombstones in the street. Add fog machine and dry ice in cauldrons and it's a Halloween paradise. Can't do that in the 'burbs.

Today we are supposed to get rain, which is welcome due to the drought. I will be switching out the Halloween decor for the Thanksgiving. 🦃

    Good Afternoon!

It's a chilly day but it's going to get warmer again. When will we really have Fall?

Spent some time paying bills this morning and trying to resolve an issue with Amazon. Thankfully, I got a rep who knew what they were doing and we got things taken care of.

Took down the Halloween decor and put up the rest of the fall and Thanksgiving decorations.

I am a glutton for punishment, I think. I like to watch the cooking shows on PBS on Saturdays. I just saw a recipe for chocolate chunk muffins....mmmmm.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Sunday. Sandy, I should find an egg lady!

Lana, Sara, missy, how goes it?

I had an excellent—if exhausting—day yesterday. Went back to King’s Mtn National Military park and did the 1.5 mile loop in each direction. It’s very steep and a great work out. They lost over 1000 tress to Hurricane Helena.

I got home (gone about 6 hours bc I also dropped my dogs at their groomer near the park), then used my cold pack on my knee and elevated for a couple hours straight. When I tried to stand—OUCH! ALL the leg muscles cramped at once! I can handle toes, feet, and calf—but thigh, quad, and hamstring? Yowza. I had to sit, massage, gently stretch, and could finally stand cramp-free after 20 min or so.

I’m looking forward to my massage on Tuesday!!!

Howdy, all! And another week begins!

@mkculs13 , I was lucky. My egg lady posted on our town Facebook page or I never would have found her. And they are really pretty eggs, too....green, speckled brown, blue, beige as well as white. They look nice displayed in a bowl, since you don't have to refrigerate them. Sometimes I hate to break and use them. 🙂 And the last time I had a massage was when my late boyfriend bought me a spa day. You lay on a table in a room with the lights low while very zen music plays and you get massaged from head to toe. Wish I could have that every week. 😉

Lana, hope your mood improves as the day goes on. We've all been there.

Could not fall asleep last night. Finally had to take a Melatonin. I guess it's good I gained an hour.

Two days ago, I couldn't get enough to eat. Yesterday I didn't feel like eating at all. I wonder what today will be? I have shrimp thawing in the fridge.

Hope y'all have a pleasant day!

Lana, you know we all know how that feels. So convinced that even w/o weighing and logging, I’m still maintaining a deficit when I know from many, many years of experience I AM NOT. Thats my insanity.

It works when I do the work. I know that. But do I? No, bc i “know”!im keeping track in my head and that should be good enough!

Sandy, i forgot you don’t have to refrigerate fresh eggs. That’s cool that they are colorful. And having them out would remind me to use them.

    TTFN.

    Good Monday Morning!

The Eagles won.....and the Cowboys lost. Can I get a collective "Awwwww..."? 🤣 The Giants lost, too. But those pesky Commanders....gotta watch them. 😉

Made a double batch of garlic shrimp with pasta last night. Have enough for 6 more meals. Will have a tossed salad for lunch. I plan on getting in a walk with my doggie later.

Only one more day of incessant political ads....Thank goodness!

    Keep on, everyone!

    Good evening,

Art/craft fair went well and all the scrubbies I made sold quickly, so I start making more as soon I as I can get more tulle. I bought 2 pieces of art made by member of church, 3 small pieces of fudge, and the soup lunch (butternut squash soup).

Couple of Mission ladies (Mormon) asked if I could help them with their crochet work. I will gladly teach young people to knit/crochet as it is a dying art.

I dressed as an elf in a "onesie" to the craft fair - and it hides nothing. Picture got taken I figure I may as well take a good picture so I lifted my arms to sky and gave one of my "cheesy" grins.

That was the first hint I need to get serious again about donating weight to the cosmos. I got to work and one of the security guards had passed away last week. He was very overweight and had a stroke almost a year ago. Okay, thank you, hint #2.

I got 1500 more steps than recently today and I am lining up better meals.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Happy Election Day!

Tilliesmommy1, congrats on the successful craft fair! We used to have one of those in our town but not anymore. 😔

    Hi, Lana! 😁

I got out to vote. Took my cane with the seat and glad I did. An hour outside waiting and another half hour inside. One person in line passed out. Thankfully we vote at the police station/courthouse and the EMT's are directly across the road. The person was fine. But I was dripping sweat inside because I dressed a little too warmly.

I am tired now....who thought voting would be that exhausting?

    Have a good one!

    Good afternoon, all.

Sara, the pic pose sounds cute, even if you felt it didn’t flatter you.

I was 2nd in line to vote this am, arrived 30 min before poll opened. Then went to work and home getting ready to walk now. It’s raining lightly and I don’t care about rain when jogging, so I can learn not to care when walking. I’m going to try what I hope is a steeper route today. Saturday’s workout reminded me what a profound difference that can make in improving muscles strength while doing some thing I enjoy.

I’m not hating the strength trying, at least not yet.

I hope I wake up to good news tomorrow.

    Good Afternoon!

Slept well. The tops of my thighs are a bit sore from using muscles I haven't used in quite some time yesterday. But that too will pass.

Just found a recipe for a lasagna Alfredo soup. Picked up the necessaries at Aldi to make it. Will try that tomorrow.

    Till tomorrow....

    Hey y'all~

I saw doctor yesterday. Legs and back hurting may be because of the statin I recently started. I am not a happy camper.

I'm going to hide under a rock for a few days.

Lma, I refused to take a statin for that reason—muscle pain. I hope it is temporary. Feel better soon.

I need to curl up in bed with a good book for the next few years.

    Good morning all~~

Maureen - the disappointing thing about the statin is that it is the same drug and same dose as I used to take years ago, but back then I had no side effects. Poor old body doesn't like it now.
Curling up with a good book for the next few years is a smart plan.

    Time to do some paperwork...

    Good Morning again!

Lana, sorry to hear about your condition. Will the statin wear off? Hope you feel some improvement soon!

My recent anxiety is causing my blood sugar to rise, which can mess with weight loss. But I am hanging in there....no turning back.

Need to get a walk in today.

    Until tomorrow...

    Good evening,

Curling up with a good book for a long time is always a nice idea - Thanksgiving is holiday for me so 4 days and a couple books sounds great.

6k a day on steps is current goal. Trying to eat more vegetables. Life is so exciting sometimes.

    Good Afternoon!

@Tilliesmommy1 I hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

My SO took me out to breakfast at the new diner down the road. I did ok...meat omelet and home fries....no toast...and tea with lemon. Got some errands done...went to 2 grocery stores so I did get some walking in. Stopped into the new Macy's to pick up and online order....I will have to go back and look around. It looked really nice. Not like the mall but better than nothing.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

    Good Saturday Morning, all!

Slept great last night again....I think the anxiety is easing off. It's never totally gone but it's much easier to manage now.

SO is taking me to the movies this afternoon to see "Here" with Tom Hanks. Looking forward to that.

Fall is finally here...I think. 🤣 The cooler temps should be here to stay now. I have a feeling that white Christmases are a thing of the past now.

Had peach yogurt for breakfast. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

The body is holding onto the weight.....but it will have to let go eventually. I am ok.

Hope your Saturday is a pleasant one!
