What protein powder do you use? (weight loss)

Hi all, I'm based in Australia. Started MFP again after successfully losing a lot of weight last decade, then gaining it all back and more. I'm struggling to meet my protein goals, and keep going way beyond fat goals trying meats/dairy. So I'm looking for a protein powder. The internet says a whey protein isolate is the best protein:calorie ratio. None of these things come in "sample" sizes, so I'm looking for recommendations of what people find works for them. Thanks!

I'm not in AUS and different brands are available here. Personally, I prefer vegan protein. Some people say that vegan has some kind of chalky taste, but to be honest, if I use whey I have the feeling of chewing on egg shells, and it leaves me mouth dry and yucky. Plus I find it a lot more liquid-y while the vegan types I've tried were more of a milkshake (with water). Check the websites of some brands and avoid big stores for testing. They might have small packages to test.

It's not protein powder, but when it comes to calorie-efficient protein sources, I hope you're aware of the protein thread here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10247171/carbs-and-fats-are-cheap-heres-a-guide-to-getting-your-proteins-worth-fiber-also

It links to a spreadsheet that lists many, many foods in order by most protein for fewest calories, which inherently means the foods at the top of the list are inherently lower in fats/carbs.

(I'm vegetarian. I don't find protein powder tasty/satisfying, so I don't use it, unless you count the defatted peanut powder I put in my yogurt/oatmeal for flavor. My problem was finding protein sources that didn't bring too many calories from carbs rather than fat, but basically the same scenario. That spreadsheet helped. I can get 1g protein per pound of estimated lean body mass entirely from food, even as a vegetarian.)

If you like and prefer protein powder, ignore me. ;)
