    Allie ~ She's looking happy and content!

    Lisa ~ Question: I know that you are short and I am wondering how you find pants from Walmart or other places (like Amazon) that actually aren't too long. Do you have to hem everything? Trying to find women petite clothes is difficult and especially because I am not just short but chubby.

    Well, we got the door to Jess’ room up and she shut Cosmo in there for the night saying that Colby didn’t want our cats in bed with him. I don’t really believe that, but whatever….

    After the soup kitchen took Ganon for a walk around the block. In a few I just might do it again. Jess and Colby are still here.

    Annie – so very glad you had such a good ride

    Lisa – it’s a real good thing Egg is there to help you and supervise...lol

    Carol – tell me about how hard it is to find petite or short pants (at a decent price). They even don’t have much at a thrift store! The good part is that not much of a selection makes it so that you don’t spend a lot of money.

    Think I’ll take Ganon out for a walk now.

    Carol - OK, it's a secret for anyone else, so don't tell folks, OK? 😂 So, I am short, at 5'1 and 3/4" tall, but I also am quite hippy - I have quite large hips for someone who's my overall size. Especially, bluntly, my thighs. This means that, for my soft pants, I can buy small, regular length pants, but because I'm SO hippy and thunder-thighed, I take up the length. When they're new, they do puddle a little bit around the tops of my tennis shoes. But I'd rather have that than them riding up my ankles, and as they shrink over numerous washings, by the time they start fading, they're the perfect length. I have to admit, this does not work with regular pants, like jeans. But Walmart's petite sizes in jeans and regular business-type slacks do generally fit me in length, and they did even when I was over 300 pounds and wearing 36W "petite" jeans.

    The other "secret" that the fashion industry doesn't tell us short chicks is that the Small/Petite size isn't just shorter than the Small/Regular Length. It's actually smaller overall. So, in other words, the reason I'm comfortable in a small is BECAUSE I'm wearing a small/regular length and it's slightly bigger around than the small/petite would be. Hope that makes sense.

    Love, Lisa

    BB&B class wipes me out so much that at line dancing if there’d been a couch at the Elks I’d have lain down and snored. Maybe the protein bar I ate contributed to the sugar crashlike sleepiness. Next week will try nuts or an apple with cheese or a yoghurt or PBfit smoothie and compare the sugar/carbs with results.
    Heather Oooh for the ports of call on your cruise. Whew! For your special cabin. Can’t wait to stow away with you both.
    Annie your fall jacket and paisley scarf sound lovely. Hope they make you feel lovely too! Fingers X’d your gut continues to improve. ((hugs))
    Rita I don’t understand, sorry. If you rented or somehow got a newer, bigger camper you’d be allowed to come back and host at Bottomless Lakes? I think you’re right, if you clear out your space and leave for a couple of weeks they might not let you back in forever. Consider how they treated Jim. Is your husband’s wanting to stay realistic considering the Ranger Supervisor? When does his/her term end? :naughty: Brava for bringing the list of yoga poses to get guidance/ok from Physical Therapist. So relieved you are finally getting help for your back. What the MRI tech must feel like validation. Sorry you have to wait so long to see the back doctor.
    Tracey I’m with Lanette, would love to see some of the crafts you’ll be selling. Hilarious FB video, thanks! It’s always shocking when our assumptions about women’s progress are shattered by some men’s attitudes.
    Lanette I cannot imagine tossing a bale of straw, or even moving one with a fulcrum and a lever, no matter how long. You are a wonder, woman!
    Flea yours to Allie, sound counsel.
    Allie did your FB account get hacked? Saw a friend request from you but we were already FB friends. Could you help me understand why it would it be a problem if Jean found the notebook you gave Sean? Thank goodness for pics of sMyles and Delia. ((hugs)) Brava for setting the “not financially” boundary with Sean, you must know your brother well. And Kyle. Words fail. ((hugs)) and prayers for Tracy, the kids and you. Thankful to hear of Carmine’s progress.
    Lisa :love: the jacket. Really :love: :Love: :love: your feeling of coming back into life. Amazeballs collection of crafts to sell.
    Machka your bedroom declutter list, Joe won’t let me trash his old feather pillows (and he wonders why his nose stuffs up) but I’m the guilty party when it comes to the stacks of periodicals and books unread in my night stand. Can’t fault him ‘til I clean up my act. ;} Laughed out loud at the “age” and cheeto security memes.
    Penny con VERY gratulations for taking off those pounds. What positive reinforcement for your weighing/tracking food. Once that is a solid habit, you can try adding some seated activities/stretches to help reawaken your metabolism while your tendon heals. Hope the Physical Therapist has some suggestions. I know how debilitating and painful a torn tendon is. ((hugs))
    Rebecca absolutely nothing about a vacuum I have to push gives me any joy. Now emptying the Roomba’s bin, yes I can glean some joy from that ;}
    Rori WOW. That WAS sudden. Thankful I can enjoy the beauty, from a safe distance ;)
    Rosemarie thank you for checking in, you’ve been missed. Would your friend compromise, half the nights in a place of her preference and half in yours? I’d be resentful if I had to spend the entire trip in places I didn’t like, spending more than I wanted on meals, etc.
    Michele, uh oh. That new tree looks like it would be an appeal to the kittens as a scratching post. Or was that the intent? ;}
    Terri :love: your sketches, especially the phoenix.
    Tina glad to see you popping in, sorry to hear about the fire scare, lost job/insurance and failed eye procedure. ((hugs))
    Mo “100 pounds down” con VERY gratulations! When will you move back to Chicago? “..poor guy needs prescription renewed for his glasses” LOL! Disappointing about London. A special color dress for church? :noway:
    Lanette one word of caution, when you open Excel spreadsheets in non-Micro$oft spreadsheet programs, sometimes the conversion is not seamless. When you try to open again in M$oft, stuff can shift or change. I’ve had this problem trying to update a spreadsheet my friend created and maintains in Apple’s version. It doesn’t convert perfectly to my M$oft version or back again. A big pita.
    Pip grateful Kirby needed no medical followup. ((hugs))
    Carol I’d love to see your wrought iron cabinet, sounds lovely. I too am a chubby petite, but my problem isn’t pants, its tops. My narrow shoulders and generous middle means nothing ever fits right. Foo!
    Barbie so thankful to see you on the other side of that two week black hole.
    Gratitudes:
    Friday: 3 clear, dry, calm days before winter storms. Long chat stroll with D. Sporthaven beach uncharacteristically calm.
    Thursday: indoor plumbing ;}
    Wednesday: 20 min nap gave energy for dog group.
    Tuesday: the good humored casserole-a-thon crew.
    Decluttering challenges Day 40/30 More redwood branch stuff
    40-Invested a half hour in carting branches to the burn pile. Noticed I missed lopping some, others need halving to fit in the cart. Guesstimating another hour needed to ready for Joe.
    Day 39/30 Redwood branch
    39-.Lopped all the side branches off the downed redwood branch to make it easier for Joe to chainsaw. Will cart the detritus to the burn pile another day.
    Whew caught up. Still not hungry for “lunch” so will go to bed and put off eating 'til I am.
    Later, lighter, lovelies!

    Barbara- the notebook I gave him had #s he needed for social security, housing, social services etc.. but I told him ,to keep a log or write stuff down she was doing ,that would be detrimental to him and her mom.. and im sure ,he did ,and she found that notebook and im guessing took pictures of what he wrote. But at least he has it back and I told him to keep it somewhere safe.

    Barbie - so glad you and Jake are over your colds. Some of this crud hangs on far too long. Hope that's it for you both for a long, long time. The smaller pieces of firewood are a great idea. ;)

    Allie - hope your brother can get situated quickly - being away from Jean has to help.

    Rosemarie - I once had a good friend that insisted on paying for things. Plays, meals, and such. In her mind, going someplace that I couldn't afford was her way of treating me. Maybe that's what your friend is trying to do. I will say my friend was very gracious and always asked what I preferred. She made the 1980's a lot of fun! Great memories.

    Barbara and Lisa - thanks for the heads up about opening M$oft spreadsheets in other programs. My plan is to keep using Excel exclusively but in the event of this laptop crashing, I wanted to be able to continue using that spreadsheet in another platform, (a free one ;) ). I don't plan to use different programs simultaneously. I heard from a friend that W10 is not going to be supported in a year unless we pay $$. Haven't researched it. A decade ago, DH downloaded Open Office on one of the laptops. It worked OK for a while, but updates seemed to degrade it.

    I want to go back to the future and use XP again. :p

    Yesterday afternoon, I started to do some pruning on the Rose of Sharon next to the house - it's up to the roof again but then decided to hold off a month or two when it's colder and better pruning weather when she's dormant. I don't have a burn pile anymore so I'm cutting up the small stuff to fit in the garbage can and big branches go into another pile to be hauled off.

    I also put gas stabilizer in the mower and the emergency can of gas I have stashed away. Then I took the mower out for a little bit and knocked down some of the grass that was getting tall and crunched up some of those leaves I dumped in various places - I wanted to get the stabilizer run through the fuel system so it should be good to sit for a while.

    Regarding pants - I wear men's sweatpants with open bottoms, so no elastic cuffs. From DH's stash. They look like regular pants but with softer stretchy material and of course elastic around the waist. I saw some photos recently of the new pant lengths -some of them are an inch or two above the ankles. :p So anything goes.

    Lisa - good to hear you folks are getting rain. Our monsoons are scheduled to start tomorrow and on into next week. Minor flooding predicted here but Seattle and north might see some major action.

    That's the quick catch-up. Have a great weekend ladies!

    Good morning beautiful ladies!

    Thanks to Carol, Lisa, Tracey, Lanette, and Rosemarie for your encouragement!

    Penny it's so hard to know whether to challenge or rest an injury. Good luck with it.

    Rita so glad you are getting care!

    Tina Hello! Sorry about your eye.

    Allie great weight loss! Good luck with your brother.

    Machka I like that bath unit!

    Barbie glad your cold is better.

    Carol, I suppose we could get a home equity loan or something like that. Or maybe find a night nurse that's within our budget. There are some options once I get over the fear.

    I finally got my driver's license renewed! Yay!

    Dad didn't charge his hearing aids last night so he's going to be a challenge today. I hate yelling at him.

    Have a marvelous day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

    Hello Good Ladies;

    Carol- I love Lands End's Sports Knit Pants. They say that they are like sweat but better, and it is true. They come in petite sizes for us under 5'3" and shorter. I got some for my mom and MIL, and they love them. You can dress them up with a blouse or dress them down. What is even better is that they have pockets. I usually order them when they have the 40% off sale. They come in all colors and styles. They have capris, shorts, and long pants. They are so comfortable, too. I would suggest that you size down because they do run big. At Land's End, they have tunic tops, too. If you are tall, they have those sizes too. My mom is 5'8'. I don't know what happened to me. I have tall parents, but I am short.

    Rita, if there are only three people, why was Jim bothered by the ranger? I don't trust this ranger, dude.

    Lisa- Egg was demonstrating her art skills. I love the prints.

    Barbara, isn't she wild about wearing specific colors? I told DH I didn't like that church because it was too complicated. Then, one lady was upset because I didn't wear a hat. I told her I have a big head and do not look good in hats.
    I remember this one lady I worked with complaining that this mom dropped her kids off for VBS, and they were not members. She questioned, "Why do they have to waste their resources on those kids?" I told her that if their church has signed up for VBS, that is an invitation.
    I just realized that it is hard to please everyone.
    I am moving to Chicago in October 2025. I am trying to get DH to give me more time. I told him that I would have been there 17 years if we had waited until 2/2/2026. DH wants to know if it is worth it first.

    Michelle- Coming to work even for 3-4 hours takes time and effort out of your day. I truly understand.

    Well, I am going to bed. Have a wonderful Saturday.

    XO,
    Mo in Mississippi.

    Mine feel really short because they're my weekend and I've got so much to do at home and so little time. But you're both retired, aren't you?
