BB&B class wipes me out so much that at line dancing if there’d been a couch at the Elks I’d have lain down and snored. Maybe the protein bar I ate contributed to the sugar crashlike sleepiness. Next week will try nuts or an apple with cheese or a yoghurt or PBfit smoothie and compare the sugar/carbs with results.
Heather Oooh for the ports of call on your cruise. Whew! For your special cabin. Can’t wait to stow away with you both.
Annie your fall jacket and paisley scarf sound lovely. Hope they make you feel lovely too! Fingers X’d your gut continues to improve. ((hugs))
Rita I don’t understand, sorry. If you rented or somehow got a newer, bigger camper you’d be allowed to come back and host at Bottomless Lakes? I think you’re right, if you clear out your space and leave for a couple of weeks they might not let you back in forever. Consider how they treated Jim. Is your husband’s wanting to stay realistic considering the Ranger Supervisor? When does his/her term end? :naughty: Brava for bringing the list of yoga poses to get guidance/ok from Physical Therapist. So relieved you are finally getting help for your back. What the MRI tech must feel like validation. Sorry you have to wait so long to see the back doctor.
Tracey I’m with Lanette, would love to see some of the crafts you’ll be selling. Hilarious FB video, thanks! It’s always shocking when our assumptions about women’s progress are shattered by some men’s attitudes.
Lanette I cannot imagine tossing a bale of straw, or even moving one with a fulcrum and a lever, no matter how long. You are a wonder, woman!
Flea yours to Allie, sound counsel.
Allie did your FB account get hacked? Saw a friend request from you but we were already FB friends. Could you help me understand why it would it be a problem if Jean found the notebook you gave Sean? Thank goodness for pics of sMyles and Delia. ((hugs)) Brava for setting the “not financially” boundary with Sean, you must know your brother well. And Kyle. Words fail. ((hugs)) and prayers for Tracy, the kids and you. Thankful to hear of Carmine’s progress.
Lisa  the jacket. Really    your feeling of coming back into life. Amazeballs collection of crafts to sell.
Machka your bedroom declutter list, Joe won’t let me trash his old feather pillows (and he wonders why his nose stuffs up) but I’m the guilty party when it comes to the stacks of periodicals and books unread in my night stand. Can’t fault him ‘til I clean up my act. ;} Laughed out loud at the “age” and cheeto security memes.
Penny con VERY gratulations for taking off those pounds. What positive reinforcement for your weighing/tracking food. Once that is a solid habit, you can try adding some seated activities/stretches to help reawaken your metabolism while your tendon heals. Hope the Physical Therapist has some suggestions. I know how debilitating and painful a torn tendon is. ((hugs))
    Rebecca absolutely nothing about a vacuum I have to push gives me any joy. Now emptying the Roomba’s bin, yes I can glean some joy from that ;}
Rori WOW. That WAS sudden. Thankful I can enjoy the beauty, from a safe distance ;)
Rosemarie thank you for checking in, you’ve been missed. Would your friend compromise, half the nights in a place of her preference and half in yours? I’d be resentful if I had to spend the entire trip in places I didn’t like, spending more than I wanted on meals, etc.
    Michele, uh oh. That new tree looks like it would be an appeal to the kittens as a scratching post. Or was that the intent? ;}
Terri  your sketches, especially the phoenix.
Tina glad to see you popping in, sorry to hear about the fire scare, lost job/insurance and failed eye procedure. ((hugs))
Mo “100 pounds down” con VERY gratulations! When will you move back to Chicago? “..poor guy needs prescription renewed for his glasses” LOL! Disappointing about London. A special color dress for church? :noway:
Lanette one word of caution, when you open Excel spreadsheets in non-Micro$oft spreadsheet programs, sometimes the conversion is not seamless. When you try to open again in M$oft, stuff can shift or change. I’ve had this problem trying to update a spreadsheet my friend created and maintains in Apple’s version. It doesn’t convert perfectly to my M$oft version or back again. A big pita.
Pip grateful Kirby needed no medical followup. ((hugs))
Carol I’d love to see your wrought iron cabinet, sounds lovely. I too am a chubby petite, but my problem isn’t pants, its tops. My narrow shoulders and generous middle means nothing ever fits right. Foo!
Barbie so thankful to see you on the other side of that two week black hole.
    Gratitudes:
Friday: 3 clear, dry, calm days before winter storms. Long chat stroll with D. Sporthaven beach uncharacteristically calm.
    Thursday: indoor plumbing ;}
Wednesday: 20 min nap gave energy for dog group.
Tuesday: the good humored casserole-a-thon crew.
Decluttering challenges Day 40/30 More redwood branch stuff
40-Invested a half hour in carting branches to the burn pile. Noticed I missed lopping some, others need halving to fit in the cart. Guesstimating another hour needed to ready for Joe.
    Day 39/30 Redwood branch
39-.Lopped all the side branches off the downed redwood branch to make it easier for Joe to chainsaw. Will cart the detritus to the burn pile another day.
Whew caught up. Still not hungry for “lunch” so will go to bed and put off eating 'til I am.
    Later, lighter, lovelies!

I had some raw veggies earlier today and Lee went to go get us messy burgers. Yumm!
Navy won against south Florida, good game. Hoping youngest son wants to chat tonight. Its his Sunday there.
Last night finished my Christmas cards, (65 coloring those puppies). To those I send to here, the coloring was therapeutic! If you don't have my address and want to exchange cards hit me up in private chat.👍🏼💖
I sent out my eldest care box, and have middle sons box done to go out in Dec. My youngest doesn't have an address so I guess no box for him.😥💖.

Barb – yes, the new tree is made of that sizzle stuff that cat trees are made of. They can scratch it all they want, can climb on it, whatever. And it won’t fall apart!!!

Lanette – when you talked about pants being an inch or two above the ankles, my first thought was “what’s old is new again”. Wasn’t that the style for guys in the 50’s?

Lisa – in a sense, I hope your rain comes to us. As long as it rains while I’m at work

Annie – Yea for renewals! Can you do it online the next time? I think they allow you to do it once online here in NC then you have to go to the DMV. So glad you had such a good ride

Rita – I don’t blame you one tiny bit for leaving for good if you leave at all. They deserve it! You are a good, knowledgeable employee and if you leave, that’s their problem

From what I understand, Rev didn’t come yet to BK. I’ll text the gal who does the schedule on Tues night hoping that he’d been there while I wasn’t and that she doesn’t need me. To be honest, I sort-of miss my water class. But I can live.

A few weeks ago I invited my one neighbor to come bowling. He just moved in and I suspect he needs to meet people his age. Anyway, he came the one time, subbed, but never came back. Well, one of the ladies on our team broke her femur and she called to tell me she needed an operation and would probably be out for a few months. So today I asked this guy to be a sub on our team. It might make him feel more comfortable to be with people he knows. That is, IF he shows. He promised me that he would, but who knows? I did give the gal who runs the league a heads-up to be sure to put him on our team should he show.

Mo – I think the last time I wore a hat to church, I was VERY young. I remember that I had curlers in my hair and the hat covered them….lol My kids used to go to the VBS at the church near where we lived, even tho we didn’t belong there. The thing about the job is that I truly do enjoy it. I don’t have to deal with the drama, don’t want it. I really have my afternoons to do what I need to do (appointments, laying out in the sun, that sort of thing), they even give me a month off to go to FL. I suspect the fact that they know that I’ll be back is at least part of the reason. They’re also very flexible, if something comes up, they don’t have a problem. Like a while ago I was supposed to have a root canal later in the month, but the office called to say they had a cancellation at 6:45 in the a.m. They let me take the day off. I must say, I do wish that I got a raise in salary. Not much, just something to know that I’m appreciated. They do say it, but I’d like to see it! Oh well...it’s not like we’re dying.

Rebecca – Jess got a Roomba for free when she went to Iowa State. I’m thinking that they felt that if they gave the students a free Roomba, at least they would clean….lol. Yes, it was a VERY basic model. But it still did the job. We have two (the kind that empty themselves). With 4 cats, no matter how well you try, they always have some litter on their paws. Love running it to get up those little pieces of litter.

Rebecca – I string popcorn for the Christmas trees early and you write out your cards early. What a bunch we are, huh?

Ordered some pie enhancer from amazon. It's supposed to help the apple pie not be as "juicy". We shall see.....

Made fudge for vince using marshmallow creme. I like the consistency. So many of the supposedly easy recipes call for sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. I don't care for the consistency of them. but this one was OK. I have another recipe for fudge that calls for instant chocolate pudding and that one has decent consistency.

Going to try to watch some TV

Lanette-pretty sure Windows 10 will no longer be supported or updated after October 2025.

Cyst removal was uneventful. Dr. ran behind with a couple of patients so I was delayed. That is actually unusual for this doctor. Some of the numbing had diminished so the last removal and a couple of stitches were uncomfortable but new shots would have hurt just as much and delayed things. Have taken it easy today-spots are throbbing a bit but Tylenol and ibuprofen seem to be helping. Napped off an on.

I did make appointment to get my TSA precheck interview Tuesday before my PET scan in Columbus. There is a location about 5 minutes from the hospital so that makes it easy (no locations in my home town).

    Take care all,

I usually move lamps, tables and upturn the couches when I vacuum! This time I found two pretzels and 3 vitamins! So I do like that when I vacuum I am getting the whole carpet not just a perimeter like what roombas can do. Plus it is a workout, so there's that.
I actually get a lot of joy and pleasure out of doing my Christmas cards and packing my military guys their boxes. Keeping connections going.👍🏼💖.
There is a flavor enhancer that is called the Taste #5 umami paste. Its delightful in soups, pasta sauces and so much more. Google it, its strange but lovely.

I am so in awe of you crafters! Do you find doing it for sale takes away some of the enjoyment, or do you love the sharing of your talent?

Terri - Those little drawings are super smart.

Waitrose delivery today. Some lovely grass-fed, tradional breed, beef mince is arriving. Big reduction if you buy three packs, so I can feel a chilli con carne coming on. I probably will keep one back and freeze it for future meatballs, after I've added pork mince. We only eat red meat about once a week now, but we do enjoy it. We probably have two or three vegetarian meals, and the others are chicken or fish. More fish than chicken.
I had my gallbladder out in 2000, but it hasn't made any difference at all to what I can eat.

Rori - the socks are Heat Holders Lite. My Amazon links won't work for the US. I've found them to be lovely and warm, but there are a few shoes they are too bulky for. I mostly wear them around the house, but I might have to buy a bigger size in slippers to be comfortable.

My friend G is back from her first cruise, so I'm hoping she's up for a chat. I know she found it tiring, sightseeing most days, but she seems to want to go again. Her journey home by train was made easier by people generously helping her with her large case, especially when she had to change trains and platforms. She had booked assistance, but caught a much earlier train. She said people were so kind. B)<3 She is 75, with extreme fatigue from decreasing steroids, and a bad back. Personally, I would have flashed out on a taxi, but that's not her way. She likes to make life difficult for herself. (She can afford it)

Still grey, grey, grey skies here. It's been weeks. It seems like forever we've had 'darkness at noon'.

Feeling a bit better today. Yesterday I had a bit of a sore throat, and thought I might be coming down with something. Today I feel alive again. I did my exercises in the middle of the night, and that helped with the morning stiffness.

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

    Terri - love your sketches.

Machka - I agree about the chain hotels.
My absolute favourite stay ever was at a place called Num-ti-Jah lodge near Lake Louise, it was beautiful, no cell service and no TVs. We really got to spend time together.

Machka - I think that Saturday’s and Sunday’s feel different because there isn’t the schedule/obligations that there are during the week, it’s a little break from “being on” for me. I make some plans but it’s mostly things I want to do not things I am obligated to do as a functioning member of society.

One of our favourite places in Tasmania is an old cabin on a historic farm ... love it there! It's been a little while since we've been and I'm thinking we'll have to go again in the new year. I find it so relaxing there.

Saturdays and Sundays feel different for us because we work during the week ... but I wonder what's different about Saturdays and Sundays when a person doesn't work, when every day is a Saturday or Sunday!
When I'm on holiday, the days all run together and I have trouble determining what day of the week it is.

Great Christmas decorations - those little houses. :)

    Sunday --

This morning we drove to the southern part of Tasmania to a beekeeping meeting in a gorgeous location.

When we returned home, I finished reading my first Tim Weaver book, then made some modifications to my front garden design, then went outside and marked out where I want things to go.

And then we went for a bicycle ride.

Right now, this is my favourite tinnitus video. The high pitched notes hit the pitch of my tinnitus which is great.

Funny thing, I turned the volume down to 6 on my computer so I wouldn't disturb my husband. I couldn't hear a thing at that level, with my computer right in front of me, but a moment later he asked me what the high pitched beeping was, and he's about 2 metres away.

He could hear it down to 2 ... I couldn't hear it until 11.

Carol, it is better to order directly from Lands End. The choices are better, too.
Don't get me wrong—I love Amazon. These pants have been my go-to for years. I started buying Lands End pants when my kids were babies. They last a long time, too. I will post some pictures of the site. They are currently having a sale for 50% off.izrn7snz3424.png

Diana on Padre Island, Coastal Texas, wow it sounds like your dance in life card is mostly full! I commend you, dealing with all that you are doing. Its a lot on your plate, but you seem happy in caring for things around you. Yes, you are a bath angel! Bless that sweet dog, and all the dogs you care for.
That does sound like a lot of protein! I am a intermittent faster, and I just skip breakfast, eating a late lunch and early dinner for the most part. I just try to put my fasting at around 16 hours and my eating window 8 hours. Some days I get serious and tweak my eating window to be 4 hours which makes my fasting time 20. Its all about how I feel. Its just what I do, not to sway you from your plan.
    Nice to meet you!

Diana on Padre - Welcome! You live where I went on the only vacation trip of my childhood - I grew up in Deep East Texas, near Nacogdoches. Glad you're here, feel free to chime in anywhere you feel comfortable.

Ginny - You're a tough one! Day surgery or not, it sounds painful.

The second pan of cowboy cookies is cooling on the rack - made a double batch, got all but a dozen flash freezing, and made sure to put dried fruit in 'em so they don't tempt me in the slightest. Eating cooked fruit is much like eating blisters, in my opinion. 😶 Will send the dozen with Corey tomorrow. The guys that work with him love it when I'm in a baking mood! 😸👀🥰

In all reality, it was a "cleaning out the freezer" mood, as I had one package each of coconut, pecans, raisins, cranberries and chocolate chips in measured amounts for a double batch frozen. Of course, I filled the freezer right back up with the unbaked cookies.

I'll bake another dozen or so at Thanksgiving and put together goodie bags for our son and Corey's brother to take with them when they go home. The rest will last Corey the whole winter; he only bakes them when he's already baking something else in the oven. He's probably going to take the Wednesday and Friday off, as well as Thanksgiving, so it will be a nice five-day break for him.

Am really pleased with how the work is going on the current design. Had to work through the technique on three different videos and throw away than one piece of fabric that I cut incorrectly, but that's OK... I got there in the end. Just being vague because it's utterly boring for anyone who doesn't sew. 👀🤷🏻‍♀️😹

Corey's out in his sunroom reading--he got out and chopped wood and burned brush for hours, had to shower because he was sweated down when he got done. He deserves a break! I'm going back to my doings.

    Love y'all,
    Lisa in peaceful, sunny Arkansas
