@Machka9 with the size of my belly I'm not sure lol. But I did used to try a modified crunch on a yoga ball. Good advice I'll see what I can do. I walked around Costco for 2 hours yesterday and am in a lot of pain today unfortunately.

@pipcd34 I used to live in AK. It's very beautiful. I recommend back up dramamine for the cruise, and mosquito spray, they tend to swarm in the summer though they aren't as aggressive as they are here in TX. Have fun! Watch out for bears and make sure you put a little noise maker like bells on your backpack if you go hiking. It usually deters the bears. Oh and do not try to pet the moose. Lol!

Thanks for the tips. I’ve been on an Alaska cruise before with my husband a 2-3 years ago. It was beautiful.

Add me to the list of people on a news fast. I still overhear a little, and I just have to shake my head. We are officially living in crazy town. I'm focusing on cooking, my family, and my health. Nothing I can do about the world. So I'll just tend to my little bit. "Cultivate my garden," as Candide says.

So... I showered, completed two loads of laundry including folded and put away, ate my late breakfast, put clean dishes away and loaded breakfast dishes, filled the dehydrator with another couple pounds of apples, and got a bit further on the current project. Talked to Corey at lunchtime, and we got dinner sorted out, so my day has pretty much gone to plan.

Back to my current project, I think.

    Or a nap.

    Decisions, decisions. 😹

    Later, y'all,
    Love,

Happily, I am seeing no US news here. If I look at news, I focus on Tasmanian news. The rest of it doesn't really matter.

That friend of mine has been a good one. We met when we got hired at Amazon back in 1999. She’s one of those friends that you may not talk to everyday or months can go by but when you get together (like we did when I flew up to see her) we pick up where we were, like time hasn’t gone by.

@linder4866 Joyce? Always happy to see you stop by.
Sue hooray for chair yoga. How long will the nieces stay to help their mom?
Vicki ((hugs)). IMHO rest is what you need to recover from the years they overworked you. ((hugs))
Pip what a great gift for Kirby to give you and your friend. He sure is a keeper. However, I’d be scared to have him messing with electricity. Those different plugs are for different sized circuits/amps/voltages etc, Please consider hiring a licensed electrician.
    Rebecca not a dream, but shortly after Papa passed, I heard him speak to me twice: once to tell me to take care of Mama, and once in amazement at the people in Costco ;}
Barbie yes to that blanket. You almost inspire me to get my needles out.
Allie sad to hear sMyles gets rough and out of bounds. Praying she can learn to set some boundaries he’ll respect now. It will just get harder later. ((hugs))
Lisa that $15 rechargeable hand held mixer is a bargain. Wish we had an Aldi’s here. I just sometimes need a hand mixer for recipes that are too small for the stand mixer. AND I want a rechargeable immersion blender as I donated the one with the PITA cord. The flyer made me laugh out loud. Our town’s annual holiday bazaar is peppered with signs pointing the way to the “VENDERS” . Makes me crazy as the event is held at the high school. Aaugh! I could only see 3 or maybe 4 oopses on the flyer… hmm.
Michele really like your mushroom. Well done!
Mo you are righit, the drugs rob people of all humanity and leave them barely an entity that will do anything for the next fix. Please god, they find that baby.
Ginny praying for stable or clear scans. ((hugs))
    Gratitudes:
Tuesday: Joe INVITED me into the man cave to sit awhile and talk while I had my tea. This is a first. Hallelujah!
Monday: The scary-fit-looking guy at BB&B who instead was kind and encouraging.
Decluttering challenge Day 41/30 Redwood branch redux
41- Boy did I miss estimate. ‘nother half hour and barely half done. Ah well, bit by bit it will be gone, maybe this year ;}.
Time for a snack before line dancing at the brewery :naughty:
    Later, lighter, lovelies!

Oh that's so cool and special! I would love to hear my Moms or Dads voice! My Dad laughed like a donkey. He'd shake then go hooooonk, then shake. It was laughter inducing!

I read the online Guardian newspaper several times a day, the BBC news website, and watch the news on the BBC at 1 pm. I consider myself a world citizen with a duty to keep informed and alert. I belong to two pressure groups. Intelligent debate is the basis of my writing life.

I'm glad I went to French Circle, but it was an English person giving the lecture, (in French), and he didn't tell me anything I didn't already know about the French Revolution. I suppose I already knew quite a lot. I prefer to hear a real French accent, but he spoke slowly enough and used a microphone, which was good for John. Sometimes you just have to make the effort. It's good for us to do things together.

Saga sent me the insurance certificates for both cruises, but one has my medical declaration on it, and one says 'no medical conditions'. John answered the questions for both cruises at the same time. Duh! So now I have to ring them and sort it out. Grrrr!

I am blessed to be able to hear my dad's voice when ever I want because a few years back, a reporter did an interview with mom and dad about their life/gardening/etc. It is so great to be able to both see and hear him again. The video of it is on YouTube

Heather: I guess I aspire to be a citizen of the world because I listen to the Economist and read articles from the Economist. And I spent the day reading a book about governments. But I am a reader. I barely turn the tv on. And I would rather a magazine article that sums everything up rather than try to follow along with the tv news. I do like the BBC news.
And I can't stand panels. And I hate commercials! And I am annoyed by so called Breaking News!

I do miss my husband! There is no one to speak with! All conversation outside of the house is carefully considered to the best of my ability.

I hope to knit every evening now for the rest of the week!

    Best,
    Rosemarie from GA

After bowling we went to WalMart and got these inserts like Vince has for plantar fasciatis (? sp). He also had to get some gasoline stabilizer. I could swear we had some.

I'll happily pass on being a world citizen ... I don't have the time or energy to take on that level of stress. :open_mouth:

I pour my time, energy, and intelligence into my career, the learning I do related to my career, and the learning I do in my personal areas of interest. :)

I also don't trust "the news" to get it right. I'm sure they do sometimes, possibly even most of the time (greater than 50%), but not all the time. Articles related to my area of work appear in "the news" fairly regularly, and they're usually missing something or have the wrong end of the stick. I read them, roll my eyes, have a little chuckle, and carry on with my work.

For a more well-rounded perspective, it's good to check the bias of your news choices. In your case, the Economist, which Rosemarie mentioned, might be a good addition. You might also try Leicester Mercury to balance things out and read things from different angles.

Machka, even though I am afraid of bees, I have a great deal of respect for them, and I will never kill one. What about wasps? I am fearful of them. We have the giant red wasp here in MS. I kill them if they are in my house.

    Later gators.
    XO,
    Mo in Mississippi

Generally, bees will leave you alone if you leave them alone ... and if you don't get between them and flowers. :)

Wasps are another story. A few wasp species can be pollinators too, but most aren't. They will drink the nectar of flowers, but they'll also often attack other insects (including bees), spiders and so on. And they'll attack us as well.
