Another week...another step forward. I have now finished my "pregame warmup" and tomorrow I begin30 minutes per day of exercise every single day. It has become a daily habit by making it so easy I couldn't fail. If you are finding daily exercise difficult, reduce your expectations Startwitha 5 mi ute walk . 5 situps, or whatever you can to make it really easy. Walk in place during commercials. Anything g. Soon, you will be ready to add more But it must become a daily habit first with a backup plan for busy days so that you are moving daily. Tomorrow I maintain here for 8 weeks. It is now a daily habit and I begin incorporating light weights and cardio.
My mini goal is to sneak in at 139 pounds intime for our winter holiday at the end of November. I won't be weighing myself again for another two weeks I'm at the point now where I Really haven't got much left to lose, but I think I'd be good at 134 pounds. My dr has given me the greenlight to maintain. ☺️6 -
I'm kind of happy i only went up .6 lbs today. I went down 5 this week so I was waiting for it. My first mini goal i posted not that long ago was to be far enough below 330 so i'm not over it at the end of the day. Today 324.4 Last night 329.0. Next stop 299. Either way, every LB i lose is the lowest weight i've been in 7 years.6

@trixsterjl31 Such an inspiring outlook it really is one pound at a time with no expiration date.
Years ago when I was stuck in the 170s to 180s I met a girl at the gym who just happened to be the girlfriend of a guy friend of mine. So we bonded right away. She was slim but had apparently been obese!
She'd been laid off from her job and with nothing to do, decided to join the gym. Her first day she went to the cardio area with the large tvs.....and got on the recumbant bike. 5 minutes later, she left She went back everyday.....for 5 minutes It became a habit and quickly it became 20 minutes. One day it was easy so she switched to the treadmill for 20 minutes On low energy days she did the bike for 20 minutes When treadmill got easy, she switched to the eleptical for 20 minutes. But treadmill on low energy days. It kept her entertained And she watched one of the large televisions She got much fitter and had to reintroduce herself to people when she was called back! Her attitude was better to do something and the weight would eventually come off. I adopted that same mindset this time and the weight came off, Concentrate on one pound at a time and NOT GAINING back.....any loss is a success!! 😘

This month was tough I was averaging 2 Lbs a week with several multi day stalls. This week was the adjustment currently 6lb in 7 days bringing me back over lb a week average. I still have 60 - 80 lbs so deficit of 2lbs a week is easy 3 with daily walking. I post mainly for me but I hope other that struggle when the loses get hard might see it and be reminded to stick to it.
Mini - 319 (connected mini) - the tracer saying in 5 weeks i'll weight 299. Short goal - Below 315 in 4 weeks when i fly off to the Philippines again. (today 321 still think i might see a few lb uptick and a small stall),4 -
LOL. all i had to do i delete a banana and peach and pretend like i'm going to add 10 more mins a day for the next 35 days to exercise.3 -
I am returning to MFP after a long hiatus. My weight has been slowly creeping up, but more importantly, my cholesterol levels have been elevated as well. I cannot take statins and my insurance company refused to authorize Repatha, so I am forced to control it with diet and exercise.
My mini goal is to get my cholesterol under 200 (Currently at 229), 27 days in and my cholesterol levels have dropped over 20 points, which is quite encouraging. As a bonus my weight is down to 203, and I hope to hit under 200 by the end of November. Best of luck to all in their fitness journey!12 -
Mini goal is drop at least 2 pounds of fat this week and continue to build more muscle mass.6
-
Mini- 315 by Dec 7. Today 319. (3 weeks 3 days- 4 lbs) I think i'll be closer to 310 but i've lost a lot this last 8 or 9 days.

Stay with this recording of calories per day7

My mini goal is self preservation7

I've kind of set several targets for myself on goals. Hit one of the first ones - BMI is out of the 40's. I hope to be at 50% weight loss (yes, that's 60 lbs for me) by my birthday next June. I plan on doing a mini makeover (hair, new clothes, etc) at that time. I'm already at just under 30 lbs lost, so think I can make it.
Ultimately, I'd like to be out of the obese category (BMI <30) by Dec 2025. At that mark, I'm hoping to do an adventure vacation! Anyone up for snorkling, kayaking, biking and hiking in Hawaii?10 -

Good job ya'll i'm in a simlar boat down about 70 of 150. I'll start evaluating how i feel about my weight at around 120 into it. I think 240 is very realistic for a long term low weight goal for me. Now 320.4 by my lady is saying 280. We'll see.5 -

My end goal is approximate too: I haven't been anywhere near my goal weight range since I was a teenager, so who even knows what's a healthy weight for me now. I will say this: when I started losing weight (summer of 2023) I couldn't even imagine myself losing 20 lbs and keeping it off... I couldn't imagine myself exercising daily, and enjoying it... I couldn't imagine feeling any kind of control over what I eat... but it all happened, and my life is SOOOO MUCH BETTER already, even with a fair amount of weight still left to go. So even though I still can't really imagine myself at 130 lbs down, I'm already living a life that was also unimaginable to me just a year and a half ago. And I know I can continue working toward that nebulous future, by finding many smaller goals to get me closer and closer.
It's been an interesting experience watching my self-image change, along with my ideas about what's possible, and my goals for the future. Which is why I think that having mini goals is so important. It's easy to look at a far-away goal as something unrealistic, even while working toward it. But a mini goal of losing 5 lbs, or fitting into that next pair of pants, or being able to walk up the stairs without huffing and puffing... those are things one can imagine, and aim for, with a sense that it is very doable!7 -
Seeing that lose skin on Tyson's back made me feel better about myself. Is that wrong. I'm not talking bad about him. At 58 he is impressive. It was just reminder that time effects the weak and the strong alike.5

My mini goal is fitting into my skinny jeans for winter. I have a few pairs in two different sizes for my unfortunately fluctuating weight. I do have some to wear now but by the end of winter I hope to fit into the smaller size. I’m gradually increasing my activity and intensity with walk jog intervals and strength training with free weights. Not sure how long it will take to go down a size but it’s motivating me for now…8

My mini goal this coming week is to walk up for my weigh in and hopefully come in at 140 pounds or less. I added two days of aerobics for 30 minutes this week and absolutely LOVED IT. I 100% give credit to yoga and walking for a good 6 to 8 months for dropping my weight and making me strong enough to prepare for more difficult exercise. My heart is SO much stronger and it was much easier to move. So far I'm down a total of 44 pounds in almost exactly two years.....with 36 pounds of that coming off in 11 months as my diet slowly improved. I'm down 47 pounds in total from my highest weight and seeing old photos 📸 is an eye opening experience!! The BEST feeling is knowing it's not ever coming back due to permanent changes. I'm very excited to slowly substitute 30 minutes daily of aerobics over yoga more frequently 😊10

This week I have learned by combining an exciting and daily 30 minutes of exercise consisting of yoga OR aerobics OR walking....I surpass my minutes and caloric goal in a fun way! I just have To be VERY CONSISTENT 30 MINUTES per day while including aerobics 3x and I'm good. I amnot killing myself!
We are on vacation this week and I have yet to weigh myself but I am somuch smaller than two years ago. I hope to weigh myself in the next 2 days. Just having my waist 6 inches smaller and my hips 5 jnches smaller is enough to celebrate. I KNOW I am well within NORMAL weight and couldn't be happier. ☺️8 -
@Greaterthanlife Where you at. Haven't seen your daily check in, in a while.
@spirittrail Good job. Keep up the good work.
At 317 up a LB from my low of 316. I Had a goal of below 315 by 12/7. Pretty sure i've got that. Hoping for 309. We'll see. Started walking at work while the inmates sleep for an hour between 1 AM and 3 AM. Makes it way easier than trying to get that in before or after a 12 hour shift. Snakalimutan ko yung damit. My calories are up this week and I still have TG on Thurs.6 -

In 5lbs I'll be under 200 for the first time in about 5 years.
2nd time around doing this, I lost 100lbs in 2012 and kept it off until Covid hit and I lost my job, then piled it all back on. So I know I can do it but sheesh is it hard having to do it all over again!
This morning I saw 199.6 on the scale!
Mini goal is to get my 7 day average to reflect this so I know it's a true weight and not a blip.
Next mini goal is to survive the festive season without gaining. I have a couple of events to go to and as I don't go out much I treat them as cheat days so I will be going way over my calories. Just hoping I can be good enough the rest of the time that it doesn't affect the scale negatively!11 -

I'm have a mini mini goal of dropping below 330. I saw 329.8 2 days in a row but I dont consider it official until my end of the day weight is below the notch.
Today 315.4. I was met that mini goal a few days later and had a goal of 315 by Dec 7 when I fly to the Philippines again. 12 days to go i'm hoping to be 309.8 by then now but TG is thurs and I'll control myself but a dude has to live and i love me some mash and gravy. -When i flew to see my lady in aug i was 370. So ya progress. I dont think she realizes via camera yet how much.

I have 4.8 pounds to lose before I am officially just overweight (according to gov BMI tables) and not obese. So I'm looking forward to being just overweight (2-3 weeks of dieting I figure) and then the next goal. i'm doing low carb, low salt, usually in the 50-75 carbs a day range. Mild to moderate ketosis. About 1200 calories a day8

Good job. BMI charts are notoriously crap. I know i'd on the edge of death before I was not overweight according to BMI. According to the chart i'd have to be 192 lbs. When i was 18 and left bootcamp i was 219 lbs. That was abs popping, "hello nurse" thin. 30 LB lighter than that would be like 8 percent body fat not 19.3 -

What a wise goal. A little step that gets you to a place you can definitely say that you're successful and then keep on chugging to the next goal. Moving from obesity to "just" overweight brings many health benefits; good for you to recognize this. Getting to a "healthy" weight will bring more benefits, and I know you'll get there eventually if you want.
I disagree that BMI is "notoriously crap," however it is really a population statistic and not intended as a diagnostic for individuals. Keep in mind it's the same calculation for men and women, and men tend to be "denser" than women. Another way to assess obesity and health risk is the waist-to-hip ratio. Use a tailor's tape and measure around your waist (where your body bends) and at your hips (widest part around your buttocks). Divide your waist size to your hip size to get the ratio. Healthy weight men have a ratio less than 0.9, and women have a ratio less than 0.8. If your waist to hip ratio is over 0.85 for a woman or 1.0 for a man, that's an indication of obesity. It's never a bad idea to have more than one way to measure. Waist to height ratio is yet another way.
Keep sticking to it!

@mtaratoot @patriciafoley1 Both of you....inspiring post Patricia......I'm here to post my weigh in and wanted to tell you to continue to take your loss one category at a time, especially if you fully intend to NEVER gain it back. I went from Obese....189.....celebrating Overweight.....I think 174.....then Marginally Overweight......163.....and am now safely in NORMAL.
I decided to lose my weight exactly two years ago when i was tired of tap dancing in the 180s
Today...my walk up to the Community Centre shows MAINTENANCE. with a three pound wiggle room to stay Normal I am in the 21st percentile for my age and height! I'm shocked! This means 79 percent of women weigh more than me. In two years I've lost 43 pounds .....that's the same as a baby dolphin. Since my highest weight I've lost 48 pounds....that's the same as a small clothes dryer!! Most importantly when I checked my *dream weight" long ago...it's only 3 pounds away. I am basically there.
I have to say something VERY IMPORTANT so that you don't get discouraged. My first year, I walked, did yoga and worked on my mindset I lost 7 pounds! That's it!! But I never gave up it was uchbetter than gaining 7 pounds! The second year, my body figured out I meant business and the weight came off faster.....I also changed my diet to one I could live with which made all the difference! The majority of the weight came off this year. I suspect the longer your heavier, the longer it takes. You have your set point....so you need time to permanently change it. Check out DR HALLS BMI CHART the most realistic one out there. My mini goal is to NOT gain more than 3 pounds on vacation ☺️ I eat so differently now I really can't imagine doing so...and exercise on a daily basis is a regular way of life....give yourself time to become the UPGRADED VERSION of yourself Like any life changing endeavor, the time invested is worth it! Keep SHOWING UP! 😊☺️

Yes that's what my tables show. 174 crosses from obese to overweight. Then I plan on another set of short goals to get me to normal weight.

I have quite a lot of muscle and I carry it well. I can’t imagine ever getting over into the normal category which is lower 130s, but I will keep working on this weight loss!7 -
