Yeah! Coffee cups arrived. They are stunning. The description said 'pristine', and they absolutely are. I'm scared to use them, because they are so shiny!
Extremely well packaged and the seller replied immediately to my thank you email. V impressed.
Happy, happy me.

Good morning!
One more work day! Woohoo! Weather forecast looks wet, but I packed accordingly. The kittens keep trying to get in suitcases. Short trip. Their Aunt will take good care of them.
I managed to get most of my gift buying done yesterday! Like Diana I shop better online. By the time I leave work I have to be aware to be patient and kind if I have to go in most stores. My DH keeps buying stuffs for himself-grrr! I have decided I will get his small traditional things, pay for the two big ones he bought and put bows on the them! He loves gift giving even when I tell him no.
No my Christmas cards aren't done yet, but.....laundry is almost done, got DH's hair cut last night, mostly packed. I still am debating on taking them.....laundry done now.
Heather My big freezer is 1/3 full of candy! My DH keeps buying. I keep freezing! Maybe i should give some away for Christmas.....just a thought.. 2/3 is venison with a little chicken thrown in. I should probably cook more. I think even if I cooked venison 4 nights a week I wouldn't use it all. Use to share with both daughters. The one that ate the most is now vegan for health reasons.
Better get ready for day and weekend! Good thing we are taking the truck. DH plans for any emergency including lack of treats and food.
Love to you all!

Good morning ladies!
First, sending WARM thoughts to you gals east of the Rockies and Midwest/East coast of the US. Temps in the teens and below 0F are tough. Looks like you are in the big chill for sure. Heard from my sis in N. Indiana yesterday, BIL is having knee replacement next week. So she's getting lessons in running the snowblower, getting firewood stacked next to the house and other tasks he normally does. Kelly and Beth - we haven't heard from you in a while, hope you are staying safe from that lake effect white stuff.
Heather - amazing what is lurks in our freezers. Glad the fish is OK! Your new cups are beautiful.
I made some "clean out the freezer" chili yesterday, found beef broth and several containers of sliced roast beef I'd stuck in there, so now there's more room. I have a bottom freezer in this fridge and usually have to get on my knees to really dig out what's hiding in the bottom basket.
Tracey - your cards are always cute. I'll bet people keep them for a long time and set them out as Christmas decorations from year to year.
Margaret - BRRR!! Glad to hear you got things taken care of at the other house.
Vicki - Christmas probably seems a lot different this year with not having to juggle around your work schedule. Beautiful decorations and the figurines your granddaughter painted are really nice. Good luck navigating Medicare, it can take some getting used to after being on company insurance.
Kylia - I love hearing about your kittens. I agree, it can be so hard buying for a spouse when they already buy what they need. DH and I used to do the "buy what you want and say it's from me" routine, wrapping and everything. Though I'd try to find a little surprise. One year I got him a back scratcher from the Dollar Tree and he loved that most of all!
Lisa - that's a neat online store. Your bags look great, hope you get nibbles and sales. You never know what people are looking for. Despite most of us being on tight budgets, I think there are folks with plenty of disposable income who would love to have one of these!
Diana - your bean meals sound great, I'm a bean fan too. Been there with the manager stress! Good that you are dealing with it early on.
Rita - your fur kids are so cute with the ear muffs. I can read their minds... "MOM!!!". There are a few of those little free book/libraries around here too, and I've dropped a few books off from time to time. Most of the time they are already jammed full, and kid's books seem to be a favorite. The ones around here were started by a retired librarian who wanted people to have easy access to books whether they had a library card or not. Nifty idea.
Allie - have fun babysitting Delia. You are so good with babies, you'll do fine. Will the daycare be able to take her then when she's a bit older? Did your brother find a place to live?
It's been a couple days of bad news health wise for neighbors and friends. Found out my old boss - who was a gem - has been in the hospital for the past three weeks with targeted radiation for metastatic squamous cell melanoma. Mrs. Roger is at her wit's end with lymphedema in one of her legs that refuses to get better and the providers in the area have given up on her. A good pal I used to work with has a swollen and painful foot since the summer - has been using a walker for months and also has been going to podiatrists, vascular surgeons, you name it. Getting scheduled for tests like MRI and vascular ultrasounds have been hard, guess everyone is booked up with end of the year stuff since they've satisfied their deductibles and this testing will be "free" or at least at minimal cost. She's very worried.
So I decided my foot problem is pretty minor - keeping up with the stretches is helping a lot and I'm back to doing some soleus pushups (SPU's).
Which brings me to - sweet neighbor C dropped off her annual cookie and candy tray. I'm not a fudge person so it's easy for me to leave that alone. Did sample the peanut butter rice krispie treats, the peanut brittle and a couple cookies. The first sugary stuff I've had in months. Everything was very good. That's another reason for me to resume SPU's - exercising the soleus calf muscle really burns through glucose.
If anyone wants an SPU refresher, here's Dr. Hamilton's instructive video: and for an in-depth explanation of how/why this works, here ya go: https://stories.uh.edu/2022-soleus-pushup/index.html
Today I'm going to oven roast some brussels sprouts and red pepper strips, and spatchcock another whole chicken.- it was a success several weeks ago. Found a smaller good quality one at Walmart a couple days ago for $5.77 that will give me at least half a dozen meals.

Starting out at -7 degrees...I clicked on site to check temp at other home...Good to go!...I decided this was one of my Christmas presents to me because it makes my life easier...The woman who helped me adjust my internet passage thanked me for being such a nice customer to work with...I thank her for helping me get done what needed to be done and for being there! Unfortunately for so many who work in customer service they are working with people who are calling because they are already frustrated. I find I do get better service because I go in with the attitude I may just so grateful they are there to help me figure out the problem. I have also learned that sometimes when someone says they have to go talk to someone else and it takes longer than 5-10 minutes they are the wrong person to help me. I just hang up and try to call again. Press 1 now press 2. A sense of humor about it all helps at times too!4

John at last got up in the garage loft to fetch down the tree and decs. Found a couple of other large items that need to go to the tip . We have quite a pile now, including a microwave and a record deck! Also asked John to get down the table laying stuff, in case my son wants to use it with us on Christmas day. I don't think they have gone in for that sort of thing in the past with three small kids. I sent my son the photo and he seems delighted 😄 and is picking them up this evening! I was a bit worried he would think I was pushy, so I phrased my enquiry very carefully. Said I wouldn't be offended if he didn't want them. They are made of felt.
My brother is sending us a combined birthday/Christmas present, arriving this afternoon. Because of his serious illness, they haven't been up to birthday tracking etc. I've told him we're not doing Christmas presents, so I'm treating it as bday.

Diann on Padre - Come when you can, chime in when you choose. This group moves FAST, and those who work for a living outside the home have the hardest time keeping up with all the posts. You won't get any flak from anyone here. We all just speak as we can, when we can, and we're glad to have you here!
All the meatballs are out of the oven, and I indulged Corey's spicier palate by adding hot Italian sausage into the mix. Means I will only eat one, but I don't need to eat more than that anyway. Need to get some of the roasted tomato sauce he canned in early November into the IP and cooking down with about half dozen of them, and when the rest are cool, I'll pack them up in vacuum bags. Made seven meals for us, all told, not bad for a morning's effort.
Also got a fire going, need to go in and tend to that, then settle into the recliner with my crochet and something interesting to watch.
Love,

PS - Almost forgot! Finally got my shop live on goimagine--not going to link it here, MFP gets a little miffed at that, but if you search by my last name (Hannon), you'll find a couple of my handmade bags are up for sale. I DO NOT expect anyone here to buy anything I make. I'm putting extremely high prices on these bags. Most will be original art pieces, and people will either pay it or they won't, not really assuming they will. Got more to get images done and get them up there, and need to get my next art bag in progress--got the painting and the fabric, just need to cut and assemble!
Onward and upward, kiddos...
Lisa
I found your shop! I had never heard of goimagine before. I’ll have to explore…

Hey, kiddos,
Trying to figure out a way to be productive with the various things I've got going on, to wind them together as a whole, and NOT to stress myself out over the whole conglomeration. Stress is just lethal to my gut and to my heart, and I'm trying to step verrrrryyyy carefully around both of them.
It's kinda weird - it's like having to work around a couple of very brittle, cranky co-workers that are family - reminds me of your situation, Kylia. It's like people I actually love very much, but find a little doolally, and far too easy to tip over. Don't want to anger either one of them, but do want to accomplish a couple things that very much need their continued input. Like... oh, breathing, and staying on this side of the bathroom door, among others. 🤞🏼😽😀
Thrown into the things I want to accomplish with the shop are working on putting up video (yes, still beating my head against that wall), working with the personal crafting for my family, and my part-time job of keeping up a house for two people--which admittedly, I have honestly streamlined to the point that it squeaks. Now it just takes a few minutes of each day, with a little more time for laundry and floors two days a week.
All that said - I know that I won't keep up with any system of organization that is more work to keep up with than it is to just do the tasks. Remember the big, long, tasks list? Yeah, I don't keep up with it. I just use it as a list to run through every so often to decide whether I need to do something. Sometimes, I remember to put the date I last did it. Most times, I don't. And I never put the due date for when it's due again. Those feel like hard deadlines, and make my stress levels go up when I miss them. I need to not do that.
I do keep looking at various apps, like Sunsama, Microsoft Lists, xTiles, and other productivity organizers like them. None fit my current need. Still thinking about whether there is anything that actually would work without me having to do more work than it's worth... Playing with monday.com now. It's very visual, which is helpful. We'll see if it works for me.
Carol and Rita and anyone else who went looking - Thanks for searching out the shop! I It's amazing how hard that was, in the emotional sense, not the technical sense, to pull that trigger. Almost as scary as putting my book up on Amazon. Soooo hard to put ourselves out in the public, for so many reasons.
Tracey - Your cards are just so lovely. Makes me want to go get a Cricut. I am resisting that urge. Don't need another craft. No. I don't. I really, REALLY don't need another one! 😽😀 Beautiful stuff, so well done.
Heather - Love your joy in those cups. Use them! Make new memories with them. You'll be glad you did.
OK, I started this hours ago, and have gotten quite a few chores out of the way. Heather's description of her hamper made me hungry. Time to make lunch!
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR, which is warming up fast! No fire needed this afternoon.

Good morning dear ladies from COLD Nebraska. Glad to be able to stay inside. Must admit I am finding it nice to not have to go out. Have to be careful. When my son was only acouple years old I went though a period where I did not go out of the house for over a year. A neighbor would take my son out to play with her son. I don't want to let that happen again.
Rita--your puppies are so cute. The mostly black one looks a lot like my Kia.
Lisa--found your site and I pray it goes well. They are beautiful and one of a kind.

🚶♀️👣 My day started great with waking up early enough to walk 10,000 steps in the dark with no one out but me. It is truly "me time" and makes the rest of the day easier. Right now Annie and I are in car in the parking lot while Jake is at the dentist. He likes to get to his appointments early so there will be an extra 30 minutes of waiting for us
🐾🎶📚 At this time I am grateful for my phone because I can play music for Annie while I read my book on the Kindle app

My dh is exactly the same- he is constantly buying things for himself. He does buy a bit too much stuff for me for Christmas usually but he said this year, he isn't in the mood to shop so everyone is getting gift cards(not sure who "everyone" is- son and his girlfriend he will just give cash to go with the gifts I bought for them). I did figure out some things for him. Many times lately he doesn't even bother taking the gifts from me out of their packages. Suck a jerk
Tree has been up over 36 hrs and no cats have bothered either one(we have a little fiber optic one set up on the end table).
Got three more batches of fudge done, only one or two more to do then the nougat and the cracker toffees. Ran out of choc. so will go pick up more tonight when he is done with his mom.
The drama with his mom getting the inheritance from her brother is finally over. There has been so much more drama since I last posted about it. Niece drug her feet but finally sent it- was in MIL's bank this morning AFTER niece took half, stating she felt her and her brother deserved half because if her dad was alive, he would have gotten that half. We have no way of knowing if she didn't already get her dad's half or not. MIL threw a fit when niece said she was going to do that- yelled at her and the niece hung up on her, won't speak to her so her son and dh have been handling it through email(using translator)
At least it is done. She is mad that she didn't get all the money. One good thing- we don't have to worry about MIL saying she is going back to Japan to live with her niece. That won't be happening!
She told dh to take some of it- NOT falling for that one. She is mad that we have taken money from her in the past when she has given it as birthday or Christmas gifts. Not doing that again. She will be mad about that too, don't care anymore.
Time to get dressed and go walk for an hour before getting Ezie from school. Hopefully the rain holds off for that hour.

Lisa - Sorry about all the family tiptoeing. I am careful around my DDIL , but most other people just have to put up with me and my funny little ways.
I don't really organise my life because I keep it mega simple. As long as I do some writing, even a little bit, each weekday, that's fine. Ditto the exercises. That's it really. I have no deadlines, just a routine. I have, at the moment a rough idea of when I'm going to make the rest of the Christmas food to take to my son, and I have some few presents to wrap. We are not giving presents to anyone except the grandchildren, ( apart from small host presents ), and each other's small Santa presents. We are not doing proper presents for each other. I don't bake, or make sweets, or do anything that I consider a Christmas chore. I try to do the bare minimum. I'm not doing the tree, but John wants to, so it's his responsibility.
If it were up to me I wouldn't have Christmas at all, but I do enjoy watching all the decorations etc. As long as it's not me doing the work. I love my well-honed routine, and don't like it disrupted. My peace and my writing come first.
We had a fine time babysitting, with John playing Scrabble with all the kids. I did my Duolingo. Edie used my phone to take a photo of John, and made this on 'Polish', a free photo app.
The parents enjoyed themselves at a dinner for their cycling club.

What a crazy day! Couldn't find my phone before leaving for work. Was late leaving. DH in one of those moods. He forgot a couple of things so we decided to go back home while his sister was still at shop. But first my oldest GD showed up at shop. She needed me to go to bank with her to cash in $1 bills (lots of them). Bank wouldn't do it as she didn't have an account there. So she needed me. Found out on way that she needed it for a lawyer. She got ticket for street racing on Monday night along with her boyfriend. She is suppose to go to court next Friday, but is also suppose to be in Arkansas for her great grandmother's funeral next week. What a f$%# mess! Her responsibility as it was her decision made. Then found out her check brake light was on in her car. She was brushing it off. Papaw made arrangements for her to get in a shop tomorrow to get looked at. She argued that she needed her car. I told her that brakes aren't something to screw around with. She could seriously get hurt or hurt someone else. Finally called her mom. Her mom told her that her car will be at the shop tomorrow. Then i got a call from cpap place that my insurance needed updated. New insurance doesn't take effect until January, but old good until then. They kept getting message that I wasn't insured. Called insurance company. After holding for short while, was told I got cancelled. I was told to talk to employer. DH called his sister, she then called our agent. Several hours later it was determined that someone at insurance company changed date in wrong spot! They were fixing that. In the meantime time DH still on a roll. Also during all this found out a friend who has back issues is in the hospital because he has lost use of his legs. He is my age. All this happened while waiting on customers because SIL left even though i had said i needed to figure out the insuance stuffs-SMH. By the way, we did get home in between all this, found my phone, got rest of stuffs needed to make trip. I did finally get some work done. The rest will wait. Trip to here was fine. DH slept most of it! He is still rrrrrr. Hopefully his attitude changes tomorrow. If not it will be an expensive short trip!
Sorry for rant. Thank you for letting me vent. Not enough water. Fast food lunch and dinner. Only 3 fun size pieces of candy though!
Stay warm!
Stay safe!

Heather - Thanks! That’s a high compliment.
Beautiful cups!
Kylia - I don’t know why people insist on buying themselves something right before Christmas. It’s rather annoying.
I hope hubby’s attitude changes.
DH is going to be asking me what I want soon, I have no idea what to tell him. I want him to spend time with me and I want to do things together. That’s it. I don’t want things just so he can say he got me something. I’m a little perturbed this year.
Lanette - I hope your friends have good health news soon.
We sure take our health for granted when we’re young.
Carol - thank you. I hope they do too, but thankfully I won’t ever know.
Lisa - I enjoy making the cards more than using the Cricut on its own. I truly regret getting rid of a lot of my die cuts as they were quicker to use than the Cricut. I honestly think if something were to happen to this I wouldn’t run out and buy another one. I any surprise myself if that happens, but I don’t think so.
I love how you describe your ailments as touchy family members. We all know one of those I think.
Allie - lovely photos.
Short and sweet tonight, I’m late getting to bed again.

I totally agree with you on both- Dh is always buying stuff for himself especially around the holidays.
I too don't want things from him but would love for him to spend time with me, spend time with me.
The only thing we do together is go shopping- He wants to shop every day. I have asked him to do other things but doesn't want to. Now he just says he doesn't have time because he has to go to his mom. Cant tell her no about anything.
He is always miserable around the holidays because of her- We don't even spend the holiday together because I will not stay home just to go to her house and have them fight and leave my mom alone for the holiday. I go to my mom's on Christmas eve and come home in the afternoon on Christmas. I get home and he is in a pissy mood, saying all he had was a sandwich or what ever(I bring food home for him but he doesn't want to eat it. Then he goes in his room, leaving the gifts under the tree and may stay there for a week or more. Ruins Christmas every year for the past 5 yrs or more. The last two years he did go to my parents house he caused drama- fighting with my nephew(I had to get in between the two of them, arguing about something stupid so he stayed in the bedroom until time to leave, the next year his mom called as we were driving up to mom and dad's throwing a fit about him not being there so he dropped me off and went back to her house(over an hour each way)-got to her house and she was asleep so he just went to our house slept, came up to mom and dad's, was in a bad mood then we had to leave as soon as we ate to go to his mom's. She won't allow son's girlfriend at her house so we had to drop her off at our house for a few hours while we sat at her house. Don't do that anymore. I won't even go over there this year.

Tracey - Thanks for understanding my tortured metaphor... 😹 Admittedly, it's an odd way of thinking about these ailments. Resisting the Cricut hasn't been as hard as it might be because the supplies for it are so expensive here! Reminds me of the Cyber Monday sales where a new printer that came with an ink cartridge would cost you less than buying cartridges for your current printer. Unfortunately, yarn for crochet is getting more and more expensive, too. You have to search for sales, and it's still not cheap.
Speaking of which - finished up my nephew's wife's afghan last night. You can see the colors better in the picture with Egg, and yes, the afghans will be going to them newly washed! 😹😽😀:
Because I wasn't sure how much yarn I would need for both, I will be able to get at least one more afghan, if not two, out of the leftovers from those and Corey's blanket.
And... I've got a Walmart order coming in first thing with vacuum bags to shrink them down to a size to be shipped, as they are huge when folded. Fingers crossed I can get them to a reasonable size. That's the last shipped item for a couple years. I've got one quilt I want to make for Kelsey, and one for John after that, and it takes me a while to figure those out.
Now just Corey's workshop apron to finish today, and I'll be freed up for making purses once more. It's teaching me a lot--and putting my heavy-duty Singer through its paces!
Later, my dears,
Much love from a warming Arkansas - supposed to get to 64 (18c) tomorrow!
