Goodness! 35 lbs in 93 days! Good old fashioned weight loss :)

Weight today: 313.1 lbs (screw the .1)
Start weight 348 lbs
Weight loss 35 lbs (ok 34.9 but I rounded down)
Day #93 on my new lifestyle (without weight loss injections or other magic wand)
I am still fat, but less fat than I have been.
I can't exercise, due to a fall and an injured leg but I have started chair yoga (YES!)
I lost the weight while being on Prednisone (evil stuff, but sometimes necessary)
What do I do? I have changed my life. The day I came here was the best thing I ever did for myself (other than kids, marriage, career and the other good stuff).
I was so lonely here at first, but now I have found a group of people who are as stubborn and old-fashioned (weight loss-wise) as I am. I feel at home here, even founded a group. "Determined losers on a mission - It's not a diet but a lifestyle change" (Self-advertisement I know, sorry)
I am so excited. I have lost 4" of my bust 5" of my very large waist and 2" of my also very large hips. I have taken a 'before picture' when I hit 20 pounds weight loss. Then I dawned on me that this is indeed forever -has to be. My old lifestyle didn't get me anywhere. I have lost an 'X' now my tunics are getting longer. I will soon order 2X. The 3 XXX has been kicked to the curb.
I don't do low car or high protein. I eat everything in moderation but stay away from processed food and fried food. My new best friend the air fryer works beautifully without added oil.
I have given up sugar. I was a chocoholic. I ate sweets every day, cakes by the pounds and pies and cookies by the truckload. No more! I have blood work done in two weeks and I know my A1C will be down to normal (I take glucose readings 3 x a day and they are all in the normal range for 2 months now.) Type 2 diabetes is off the table.
I don't eat gluten and I have given up dairy. Why? I have health issues (autoimmune disorder) and I 'cheesed up' everything. I use nutritional yeast instead of shredded cheese and I love it. The gluten thing is just to determine if it might help me and it seems like it.
I am happier, even so, I fell. The fall itself was dramatic, but the fact that I could get up was stunning. I am 61 years old and like every obese person my age, I always feared falling. I didn't break anything but developed a skin infection (thanks to my autoimmune disorder) that's why I take prednisone.
I don't judge people who are using these new miracle injections, I just don't want to compare my hard work (and yes, it is hard work and it takes discipline) to someone who gets a 'little' extra help. May you all have the success you wish for and may I continue mine.
I don't want to take more medications and I do not want to be on diabetes medications.
You know what else? My blood pressure is normal now. I still have to lose over 100 pounds but just losing a little (34.9 lbs) has lowered it to a normal range. The blood pressure meds are off the table. Yippie!
I want to be healthier. I want to be more active. I want to enjoy my life and not just food.
Sorry for the rambling. I am just so excited!
It's not easy to be that open. I am putting myself (and my past failures) out there because maybe today another obese person who thinks it's hopeless might read this and start a new lifestyle as well. It took me almost a lifetime to finally get it!

Just started my journey. You're so inspirational. I would like to lose 30 before my 70th birthday next year ( April) for a start. My A1C is creeping up and my cholesterol is so that was a wake up call.

I am absolutely stunned by how quickly my blood pressure numbers went down. I have to get my blood work done in two weeks and this time I can't wait to see my A1C numbers. Besides the weight loss, that's the greatest achievement there is. To be healthier!0 -
Thank you all for commenting and 'liking' my achievements so far. Right now I am struggling. The cooler weather seems to require more food and different meals and I am trying to adjust. It's a learning curve and quite a journey
