    Good Afternoon!

I was out shopping with my daughter today....she bought me Chic Fil A for lunch....not the best, but I haven't been there in ages. My back still isn't 100% but I'm glad I went....needed the exercise. Didn't buy anything but helped my daughter pick out new bedding.

Lana, thank you! I am glad I got it done. I won't have to worry about it for awhile.

Hope y'all had a relaxing New Year's day!

    Good evening,

Today was a pajama day - dont do that often but I didnt want to go outside so no reason to get dressed.

Laundry and hand wash dishes done. So not a complete slug day.

I am finding granola and meatloaf recipes - so you know what is on my short term agenda. The bag sealer works really well and keeps my items as small as possible in my freezer.

Grazing while on computer has almost completely stopped and the scale is telling me.

I am in a "forgiveness" project for myself - I am in my head asking forgiveness for things that I have done to others, others have done to me and what I have done to myself. Its crowded in there but I figure if I do a little every day......

2025 time to reset, redo, repeat, replace - who knows?

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Good morning all~

Sara - Forgiveness lightens our life. We do it for ourselves - so yay you!

Sandy - That's nice that you went shopping with your daughter 💗

I got out of bed too early this morning, but I could not get back to sleep. I got only 5 hours. Hate that.
When I'm tired, I tend to make bad eating choices.
Very sadly, I have lost my ability to fall asleep for a nap in the middle of the day.

    Happy New year!

Sara, I love the forgiveness project. Good for you. And Sandy, glad you have the supplies you need.

I have no idea where my sis and I may decide to go. Still hoping for knee surgery on 2/12 and wondering if I should risk a long flight even 5 or 6 months after surgery bc of my issues with blood clots. I’m at 5.5 months now with my right knee and maybe need to consider something closer and without the 6-14 mi/day we have done in the past. That was an amazing trip.

I’ve gotten off to a good start for rebooting myself in 2025. Working on some chronic soreness and tightness with stretching and scaling back my walks for a week or two.

    Cheers, Maureen

    Good Day!

@Tilliesmommy1 , I did laundry yesterday, too...it was falling out of the hamper. :D And a forgiveness project is very worthwhile. Brings peace.

Maureen, the weather has forced me to scale back on walking too, unless I go to the mall and walk. And that is too tempting...LOL!

Lana, sorry you had trouble sleeping. :( I still felt a bit depressed last night and I KNEW I was going to end up laying in bed and not be able to sleep so I took a melatonin, which put me out and I slept through the night. I don't take it all the time but if I need it, I like having it around.

Today is the beginning of taking down Christmas. I have the tree about 1/2 way untrimmed. If I get that done and the tree dismantled, boxed, and in the closet, I will feel very satisfied to leave the rest for tomorrow or Saturday.

Hope it's a little sunnier where you are!

Tracking all of my calories and exercising and the weight doesn’t seem to be moving! Feeling frustrated.

Also, checking labels and weighing everything.

    When did you start, @anxietyfairy?

Sandy, it’s not the weather—it’s me. I did my 2 mi yesterday and have made a chant of the things to do better this year. It helps me remember and not feel overwhelmed. I’ve a list of 7 things to remember daily and will forget if I don’t give myself a mnemonic device!

Working today—I promised my colleague I’d develop 3 things for exam review and after finishing the grading of some very late work, I’ll need to look up my list of those 3 things!

    TTFN,
    Maureen

    Good morning Y'all~~

Of all of the things that I could experience today, what gives me such immense pleasure and satisfaction is watching the leaf-sucking truck go along the street. It's the little things for me, really....

About a week ago, and there’s still no scale movement. I’ve eaten chocolate and had alcohol but I’ve still had a deficit.

So it takes a 3500 cal deficit to lose 1 lb.

If your deficit is 500 cal/day, you’d show 1 lb lost per week over time—but so many things can interfere with short-term assessment. Like, fluid retention, etc.

Have you searched the general weight loss groups for ideas and support? Some people are really good at helping you figure out what is wrong.

You need to share age, height, weight, male/female, and activity level to get good feedback. But it’s too early to tell if it’s only been a week, IMO. Give it a month to see scale movement, while you learn more.

Lana, it is the small things that add joy oftentimes!

I walked with the dogs off leash in a remote place I found about 15 mo ago. I did a 2 mile route that was always easy—and it was hard! I need to accept I’m out of shape, and I was in pretty good condition for an old, fat lady before knee surgery.

I don’t know why the big difference in conditioning didn’t occur to me before—everything really IS harder lately!

I know what to do and I’ve lots of experience in improving my fitness, so I’m a little relieved. I’m also a but intimidated bc of never been this old before, of course, while trying to improve fitness. But ultimately, listening to my body and going slowly will serve me well. I’ll do what I can before my next surgery—about 5 weeks away now. and get right back on the horse, so to speak, as soon as I can after.

    TTFN.

    Howdy, troops!

Maureen, I have a 70 year old body with a 25 year old mind and the mind can't reconcile with the body. 😂 I keep wondering why I can't do this or that the way I used to? Then I sigh and do the best I can. I used to be in good shape too, but I don't have the excuse of a knee issue.

Lana, I get awakened by the leaf blowers when the complex landscapers come around. Thankfully, that is done till next fall. I would rather have the satisfaction you experience with the leaf vacuum.

Yesterday, the SO took me to see the Dylan movie "A Complete Unknown". Was very good. I want to get the soundtrack. But my back was spasming during the entire movie, which made it difficult to sit through. Today I am not doing anything except sit with the heating pad. I did take my 2 Amazon returns to UPS, picked up a couple things at Aldi and put the cover on my car because we are expecting a winter storm Sunday night into Monday. I am in for the duration. Christmas is mostly packed up, but I am not moving the bins until I am sure my back is ok.

Hope your Saturday is a good one!

    Sandy, hope your back improves.

I know being a healthier weight would make things easier. I’ll still be old, of course, and that’s ok!

    Good evening,

Five meatloaf meals with red potatoes and carrots are in freezer. Tomorrow is making granola and washing a lot of dishes...

Lana I laughed when you found satisfaction with the leaf vacuum coming by. It always improved my congestion after they came by. Did you wave to them?

Got my toes done. Ingrown toenails are no fun. Enough said.

AnxietyFairy - welcome!! My body took a couple of weeks to realize that I was serious losing weight. Everyone one is different, of course, but give yourself time to adjust to the new routine you are starting.

Hope everyone has a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Good Afternoon!!

@mkculs13 , I am feeling better today, thank you! Still relaxing with the heating pad, though.

I thought I wasn't going anywhere today, but my egg lady texted me this morning and said she had 2 dozen for me, so I pulled the cover off my car, drove over and got the eggs. I plan on hard boiling some for snacks and salads. It's a sunny day out....the calm before the snow storm. Still have to find my winter snow car tools....ice chipper. brush, shovel, etc. They are in this apartment somewhere.

Have a relaxing rest of your Sunday and till tomorrow....

Bit worried, I've overeaten by at least 2000 calories today and it's meant to rain for the next two days so it's not like I'm going to go outside for a walk! bit sick of walking around the mall

    Good Evening!

My brain is playing tricks on me...I thought I posted....sigh....

Christmas is all put away in my spare room. I was feeling good....putting out my everyday stuff when I moved some boxes and got a shock....the Styrofoam container I have my birdseed stored in was broken into by mice! They had a feast.....lots of empty shells. I was not happy. I vacuumed up the mess and put the containers up high on shelves. Never had a problem before. But my 40 lb. bag of dog food I can't put up, so I just ordered a plastic container made for pet food. An expense I can't really afford, but neither can I afford to have mice eating the dog food.

    TTFN....

    Good evening,

Had an ergo on my workstation with boss. None of the previous obstacles were put in my way. This sounds like a science fiction movie - who is my Supervisor?

    For now I move forwards.

Tomorrow is cleaning house after work. Yes, sometimes life is exciting.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

    Hello everybody~

Sandy - Nothing like surprises from mice. I understand. Be careful though, because mice can climb anything.

Sara - sending you good vibes for whatever the heck is going on at work now. It's always something there, isn't it? Gah.

Waves to all who stop by later on~~

@LanaCabana537 I'm in New Zealand, so technically it's Summer, but there's been a lot of rain
