Beginning of Round Thoughts:
I am Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired. I mean, I am LITERALLY both Sick with many ailments and Tired of putting myself through this back & forth! I weighed 181.6 on January 1st, 2024. This has not been a good year for me. How much progress I can make in November, December and January is very very questionable, at the very least. Those months are riddled with holidays, baking pies and cakes, making cookies and fudge. Lots of decadent dishes high in calories and carbs. And lots of shopping excursions away from home which always include restaurants and long car rides. So many celebrations including multiple family birthdays as well! These are the hardest months of the year for most of us. But Iโm not throwing in the towel just yet!. I will do ALL I can, As I can, When I can. Life is going to happen and I will definitely live it, but there are lots of days where progress can still be made and/or damages can be mitigated. I must stay steadfast and strong in my resolve. This is about my health journey, not just my weight journey. I will not give up based on what month the calendar page is on!

Day 69-01/03-192.4-(Trend weight 192.9) Itโs very rare that I would be at the same trend weight for 5 days in a row, but here I am. Today reflects a nice little drop which I did not expect after getting only 1 hr and 3 min of sleep last night. Ugh!!! Meals were good but snacks were off again. My carbs are trying to inch up so I gotta watch that. Iโm going for a banner day today. NSV for me, I threw away over half of a pumpkin pie yesterday. It was still tempting, even with being several days old and tasting stale. Very little fudge left and still quite a few cookies remain. I continue to lay them out for my contractors and they continue to leave less and less.
Day 70-01/04-192.0-(Trend weight 192.8) Finally my trend weight budges after 5 days of staying the same. Iโll take that as a good sign Just gotta hang on to it. 2.2 lbs lost this week. Yay! My weekly challenge goals are always 1 lb and my monthly MFP challenge goals are 4 lbs. So Iโm going to hyper focus on 4 lbs (not 5). I started the micro-mini goal at 193.6 so T-minus 1.6 with 2.4 to go. Today I take my oldest DGSโ and my Son for their rescheduled hair appts. Lunch out afterward. They usually choose McDonalds which is helpful to me because I find it too salty tasting (after years of dieting) and I usually donโt order anything. Not that there isnโt something on the menu I could get but I usually just refrain. So Iโll watch 3 big boys age 16, 18 and 28 wolf it down. Then Iโll come home and find out about applying for that Sainthood too (like one of my MFP friends did! ) ๏ That is, if I get past my DD and young 7 yr old DGS being here this evening and staying the night! I pawned every last cookie and piece of fudge off on my SIL yesterday who asked for some. NSV!

The most that I have ever lost on one of these 100s is 7lbs.
I am not sure what it is going to take, but I would like to get back to 130 and below.
I started my weight loss journey because my doc threatened to put me on blood pressure medication for the rest of my life. I joined MFP at 198 pounds although I had been heavier than that.
I lost enough weight to chase away high blood pressure, but now the doc is saying that my arthritis in knees, feet, and ankles would benefit greatly by me dropping another 30 pounds. That number used to be 15 pounds, but I have been gaining and gaining these last couple of years.
I am an active person, and eat nutritious food.

Day 64โ12/29โ 148.6 - The first half of my 8 hour shift at the Indian restaurant yesterday was very quiet. I got in lots and lots of Fitness Marshall songs. the second half was busy, so I got in over 13,000 steps during that time. Weight dropped a little likely due to those. Today is my only full day off until next Sunday, so I am cooking and stuff for the week, doing laundry, mending and stuff. Overcast here today in this normally very sunny town. Wagner is playing on my Google Nest, very lovely day so far : - )
Day 65โ12/30โ 149.0 - Dang raise in weight. Good calorie intake yesterday, lots of Fitness Marshall, but really no walking. Shoes really bother my bad ankle, so my one day off I didn't put any on. Yes, I did Fitness Marshall in slippers lol. Shoes seem to hit the bottom of the plate in my ankles, and rub one of the screws against my skin. Blueberries are packed for work today since my elimination this past week has been sparse. Another odd grey day here today for the sunniest town in BC. I will be indoors at work for 8 hours anyway, but I can see outside from there. Maybe it will want people to come and eat curry so that I will be busy : - )
Day 66โ12/31โ 149.2 - Yet another day that the tracker tells me that I will be 128.2 in 5 weeks. So frustrated. This is what just about every day looks like for me:
Day 67โ01/01โ 149.0 - My days are all mixed up from working on my day off Tuesday. I didn't make it to midnight, but hadn't planned on it. I had a piccolo of Champagnne chilled and a flute in the freezer, but didn;t end up having it. I did record one of the NYE shows. 2 jobs today, a brand new year but it doesn't really feel like it. For sure I am happy that my first job of the day will pay extra as a Stat. The other job I haven't been at long enough. No time for reflection and looking toward the New Year for me until my day off on Sunday, and then I will take some time to think, plan, and dream : - )
Day 68โ01/02โ 148.2 - Hmmm, my only change was 1/2 of a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese in the morning - it must have got my furnace burning. Normally I don't eat at all until my fruit which is what I eat during job one each day. So I tried that again this morning, but only got in half of the half before running out of time. All good, it was something into my system anyway, and just an experiment at this point.
Day 69โ01/03โ 147.4 - Hmm again. Going for the 1/4 bagel again this morning even though I truly have no appetite during the day except for my fruit at job one. Going to keep this up. Not going to run out of bagels at this rate lol.
Day 70โ01/04โ 147.2 - For the last year + I only gain weight. Back when I was losing weight it was .2 pounds a day, so 5 days to lose a pound, could be 6 pounds per month. Problem is, that I can more than easily put on 3 pounds in one day. If that happens twice or three times per month then I am hooped. Frustrating as hell. So slow to lose, incredibly quick to put on. Day 66โ12/31โ 177.4 - I got out today for a food and prescription run. Got my new CGM's....have been without one for the last few days so I have been estimating my insulin which isn't recommended. Yesterday, I pushed myself to tear down my aquarium and clean it out in preparation for getting a couple fish to join my snails....
Day 67 - 01/01 - 179.8 - Got out with my daughter today for shopping. I didn't buy anything but got to get in some steps, which I needed. Hope everyone has a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Day 68 - 01/02 - 178.8 - Today is starting to pack away Christmas. Its a bit sad when I have to do it but it has to be done. Will probably take a couple days to get everything organized so it is all put away properly. Working on packing away the ornaments now and then the tree. My back is still not 100% but I am resting in between with the heating pad.

Late to the game but I need to try this again. Iโve gained a bit since I quit the last 100-day challenge (#18 I think), my knees hurt, Iโm on meds for high cholesterol, Iโm behind on paperwork, and my home is as cluttered and disorganized as itโs ever been. I know itโs all connected. I need to start making changes and taking accountability again. Consistency is not my strong suit but I refuse to quit. ๐
Day 64 12/29 โ 150.3 Iโm sure my body is still recovering from the last few weeks of unhealthy eating and only sporadic exercise. Today was the first low carb/low refined sugar day in a very long time. High sodium dinner tho. Prepped 5 days of overnight oats to help me stay on track. I also did a 50-min. Peloton work-out. Off to somewhat of a good start. But itโs only day 1 for me.
Day 65 12/30 โ 148.7 (- 1.6) Tried to stay on track today. TRIED. Oh well. Tomorrow is our NYE celebration. Enough said.
Day 66 12/31 โ 148.9 (+ .2) Happy New Year everyone! Not surprised by my weight this morning, and expect the same for the next few days while my body processes all the alcohol and carbs from celebrating. Iโm so looking forward to a great 2025.
Day 67 01/01 โ 150 (+ 1.1) Relaxing day watching some college football, visiting with family, eating leftovers, including lots of desserts.
Day 68 01/02 โ 151.4 (+ 1.4) Determined to be back on track today after 4 days of complete indulgence, alcohol included. Exercise might be a challenge as my knee still hurts, but I will certainly try to get some movement in. Itโs also the last day with my DD who returns to her home tomorrow. Sure going to miss her.
Day 69 01/03 โ 150.3 (-1.1) Finally, a little decrease. Donโt think Iโll make my goal weight tomorrow tho, but thatโs ok. Weโre only 3 days into the new year. Couldnโt resist a donut from Krispy Kreme last night. My leg extension machine arrived yesterday. I hope this helps to strengthen my knees and reduce knee pain.

Sloan @iradi8 I signed up for a myofacial tissue release plan for $17 Cdn thru Better 5; now they have pretty mixed reviews but I figured I'd get my $17's worth. Altho I'm just beginning I have no complaints so far. Exercises are easy and don't require much equipment and are presented in a yoga atmosphere, centering, breathing etc.

Beginning of Round Thoughts:
I am Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired. I mean, I am LITERALLY both Sick with many ailments and Tired of putting myself through this back & forth! I weighed 181.6 on January 1st, 2024. This has not been a good year for me. How much progress I can make in November, December and January is very very questionable, at the very least. Those months are riddled with holidays, baking pies and cakes, making cookies and fudge. Lots of decadent dishes high in calories and carbs. And lots of shopping excursions away from home which always include restaurants and long car rides. So many celebrations including multiple family birthdays as well! These are the hardest months of the year for most of us. But Iโm not throwing in the towel just yet!. I will do ALL I can, As I can, When I can. Life is going to happen and I will definitely live it, but there are lots of days where progress can still be made and/or damages can be mitigated. I must stay steadfast and strong in my resolve. This is about my health journey, not just my weight journey. I will not give up based on what month the calendar page is on!

My weekly challenge goals are always 1 lb and my monthly MFP challenge goals are 4 lbs. So Iโm going to hyper focus on 4 lbs (not 5). I started the micro-mini goal at 193.6 so T-minus 1.6 with 2.4 to go. Today I take my oldest DGSโ and my Son for their rescheduled hair appts. Lunch out afterward. They usually choose McDonalds which is helpful to me because I find it too salty tasting (after years of dieting) and I usually donโt order anything. Not that there isnโt something on the menu I could get but I usually just refrain. So Iโll watch 3 big boys age 16, 18 and 28 wolf it down. Then Iโll come home and find out about applying for that Sainthood too (like one of my MFP friends did! ) ๏ That is, if I get past my DD and young 7 yr old DGS being here this evening and staying the night! I pawned every last cookie and piece of fudge off on my SIL yesterday who asked for some. NSV!

Late to the game but I need to try this again. Iโve gained a bit since I quit the last 100-day challenge (#18 I think), my knees hurt, Iโm on meds for high cholesterol, Iโm behind on paperwork, and my home is as cluttered and disorganized as itโs ever been. I know itโs all connected. I need to start making changes and taking accountability again. Consistency is not my strong suit but I refuse to quit. ๐Day 64 12/29 โ 150.3 Iโm sure my body is still recovering from the last few weeks of unhealthy eating and only sporadic exercise. Today was the first low carb/low refined sugar day in a very long time. High sodium dinner tho. Prepped 5 days of overnight oats to help me stay on track. I also did a 50-min. Peloton work-out. Off to somewhat of a good start. But itโs only day 1 for me.

The most that I have ever lost on one of these 100s is 7lbs.
I am not sure what it is going to take, but I would like to get back to 130 and below.
I started my weight loss journey because my doc threatened to put me on blood pressure medication for the rest of my life. I joined MFP at 198 pounds although I had been heavier than that.
I lost enough weight to chase away high blood pressure, but now the doc is saying that my arthritis in knees, feet, and ankles would benefit greatly by me dropping another 30 pounds. That number used to be 15 pounds, but I have been gaining and gaining these last couple of years.
I am an active person, and eat nutritious food.

I will get my Christmas stuff packed up today for sure.

About me and previous weeks under the spoiler!Hey new friends! ๐ This is my very first 100-day challenge, just in time to conquer the holiday season and Iโm excited! My goal is to lose 7 lbs by the end or roughly 0.5 lbs/week.
For me, it's all about healthy eating and getting my portions under control. I donโt have any strict workout plans 'cause Iโve learned that juggling too many goals just makes my brain melt ๐ง ๐ฅ. I try to stay active, but Iโm totally a "go with the flow" kinda personโno step counting here.
About Me - Canadian, work full time remotely, been on MFP since 2010 so Iโve been trying to lose the same 10, 15, 20 lbs for almost 15 years! ๐คฃ HW 184.6 May โ24, I love puzzles, Netflix, puttering around the house and my cats!
Week 1 - Down 0 lb- Day 1 (10/27) 171.8 lb. Ran 10k, goal was 1800 cal. Garmin said I burned over 800 cal during my run but those are wildly inaccurate so I count that as 400 cal, then ate back about 200. Ended the day at 1850.
- Day 2 (10/28) 172.8 lb. I'm sure this gain is due to my big run yesterday and muscle soreness, I'm trying not to get bothered by fluctuations due to good things like exercise or strength training. Have a family birthday dinner tonight, have already looked at the menu and nutrition and pre-selected something. While I'd love to splurge, its not my own bday and I just don't think it's worth it today. I'll probably steal a fry or two off someone! ๐
- Day 3 (10/29) 171.6 lb.๐ฎ Iโm loving these daily reflections so far! Last nightโs dinner out strategy: I pre-selected fish tacos and a small soup for about 800 calories, plus I had a protein snack before heading out (because prep is key, right?). Someone ordered appies for the table, and I did have a few, but I restrained myself. Ended up skipping the soup, and the fish tacos were awesome! I even ditched the tortilla on the second one. Still over my daily calories, but letโs be realโit feels unpossible to stick to a deficit when restaurant food is involved! This year, I've been working on changing my mindset around food, reminding myself that food is NOT entertainment. Last night was all about the family vibesโwe laughed, shared stories, and celebrated a birthday. The people were the highlight, not the food!
- Day 4 (10/30) 171.6 lb. Hit the gym yesterday for a lower body strength session, feeling sore. Ate well, then bff called right before dinner to see if I wanted to go out to eat. We shared a main dish and appie. No idea on calories so prob another day not within deficit but Iโm happy to have developed better restaurant habits so each visit isnโt a complete calorie blowout. Intentionally have not bought my halloween candy yet, will do that today to limit the damage! ๐ซ
- Day 5 (10/31) 172.0 lb. No willpower around Halloween candy, someone brought me a giant cookie I ate it, rode the bike for an hour, tomorrow will be a better day.๐ซก
- Day 6 (11/1) 171.8 lb. Hmm Iโm back to Day 1 weight, I suppose thatโs ok and itโs not an overall gain and I have to accept that with 2 restaurant meals, and Halloween candy. Iโll take it as a maintenance week. Time to buckle down again!
- Day 7 11/02 171.8 lb. First week in the bag! Yesterday rode bike on Zwift for an hour, today did ParkRun (edging closer to my 50 milestone! Ate well today.
Week 2 - Down 2.8 lb- Day 8 11/03 170.6 lb Oh, the scale dramaโฆanyway! Iโm reading The Hungry Brain, and itโs so interesting. Just learned about โdelay discountingโ โ basically, how much we value future rewards vs. right-now ones. Like in that classic marshmallow experiment where kids could eat one marshmallow immediately or wait for two. The kids who waited? They tended to make healthier choices as adults (roughly speaking!).
Another study had adults picture a happy, successful future self to resist temptation. So next time youโre eyeing the Halloween candy bowl, maybe channel Future You with superhuman willpowerโor just grab one and call it research! - Day 9 11/04 170.6 lb. Yahoo!๐ Two days in the 170โs. Ran 13k yesterday, just felt like a nice long run. Ate back some calories but overall kept it around 2000. Ate well today.
- Day 10 11/05 169.8 lb. I havenโt seen the 160โs in two whole years! I had a good calorie day yesterday so tried to recreate all the same foods today. Got derailed because I left my peanut butter and jam toast on the coffee table and when I came back I had a suspicious feeling the cat licked it. Upon close examination Iโm pretty sure I could see a strip of jam missing and the texture was different, exactly the width of a cat tongue. Compost. Anyways, as long as I donโt have a huge snack before bed I should be ok for today.
- Day 11 11/06 170.4 lb Lousy day at work, went for a run to accomplish something of value. Ordered a giant fish burrito for dinner, logged it as 1000 cal.
- Day 12 11/07 170.6 lb 10% thru this challenge! flu and covid vaccines today, I've had fever and chills with prior ones so planned this one over the long weekend.[/color]

- Day 17 11/12 170.2 lb Eating has been ok, I track daily but the accuracy of it has always stumped me as I cook a lot from scratch. iโve often thought it would be easier from a tracking perspective to eat packaged foods, the barcode scanner in MFP is just so handy. went to the gym today for some lower body strength. anytime I want to eat or snack when bored i come to this discussion group and read the posts, this has been so helpful.

- Day 19 11/14 170.8 lb 5k run with hill drills. Foodwise Iโm doing terrible with protein, I wish I could consume premiere protein or other high protein milks but dairy gives me terrible cystic acne. i have pea protein powders but they are kinda ick.
- Day 20 11/15 171.0 lb Have really been on a rollercoaster with the scale this week. My eating has been more nibbly than before, there's quite a few things making it to my mouth but not the tracker! Going to focus on tracking well this weekend.

Week 5 - Up 2.2 lb from Day 1- Day 29 11/24 173.4 lb Staying positive despite the scale, went out for dinner last night, had wine and split a dessert 3 ways. Brought half my entree home for lunch today. Did ParkRun yesterday and got my fastest time this year! I was still beaten by someone โpower walkingโ and looked 20 years beyond my age LOL! Its a grey and rainy day here, going to finish my coffee and head to the gym for some strength.

Week 6 - Down 2.2 lb from Day 1- Day 36 12/01 171.0 lb Gosh itโs been a busy several days and I have not had a moment to myself. Iโve been weighing each morning but havenโt had the time to update my posts. Well Iโm a third of the way through this challenge and nowhere near where I thought I'd be. Iโm not getting down about it and will just look back on the last few weeks as a learning experience. Iโve done a quite a bit of exercise, and this just reinforces what I already knew which is that exercise has no effect on weight loss (for me). Other benefits yes - but does not change the scale one bit. So, more focus on calorie deficit is needed! I ran 5k yesterday and 8k today, and tracked all my food so far. Going to have an apple as my after dinner snack. Congrats to everyone who is crushing it!

Sometimes by dinner Iโm down to very few calories left but i try to reflect on where i went astray during the day and try to do better the next day.

I have a gingerbread house kit that I put together on Friday. Ate a few of the candies plus one of the christmas tree cutouts hee hee! All in all Iโve been pretty good with treats the last few weeks.
- Day 51 12/16 169.4 lb I think I got like 38 grams of protein today, I donโt know why itโs so hard for me.
- Day 52 12/17 170.0 lb Havenโt had dinner yet and Iโm only at 48 grams of protein. If anyone has tips to eat more protein (and donโt involve cottage cheese barf), Iโm all ears.

- Day 59 12/24 168.6 lb Have not posted for a bunch of days now, Christmas craziness in full swing over here. Hosted dinner, turkeys and all the trimmings, everything turned out really well. Only cried once today. Have consumed an extraordinary amount of holiday treats, but will soon draw the line and get back to regularly scheduled programming. Happiest of holidays to everyone!!

Week 10 Down 0 lb from Day 1- Day 64 12/29 169.2 lb Weight has stayed pretty steady throughout the holidays, canโt expect to lose given the indulging Iโve done, but going to look on the bright side that I havenโt gained!

- Day 71 01/05 171.8 lb Iโve been much more interested in exercising and movement these days vs paying attention to what Iโm eating. Maybe itโs just a phaseโฆI hope to get back to accurately tracking my food intake again. Iโm seeing huge improvements in my running tho so thatโs something to be happy about.
