@fabgeekmom It’s lunch time for me and you made me hungry. LOL. We have a bike downstairs in our work out room but I prefer to walk upstairs. My husband works out several times a week but I do walking mostly. I could do the treadmill but it’s just boring - well unless I watch the tv

@trooworld Now I am really intrigued with your Ninja Creami. Looking forward to hearing the results. I have definitely been wanting to buy one. Glad you did. Your book club sounds good. I do a Zoom bookclub with some ladies I met thru WW connect. When COVID came along we were looking for something to do. I might be the only active WW member now, LOL. Love our book club. It’s fun. I very seldom have coffee myself. But Ed and I have started going out for coffee or tea almost everyday. We used to do that lot before COVID and it feels really good.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks for the welcome. You guys are a great group. My goal is to track everything and most days I do. I am using MyFitness Pal as well WW just to see which I like the best. If I am not a goal in WW I am paying $23 a month. I’m not a goal as I started a medication last summer that caused weight gain. I am trying very hard to get back to goal, as once I am at goal it is free as I am a Lifetime Member. I’m thinking of stopping WW until I get back to goal.

    Fingers crossed.

Nasty cold day today and yesterday. It was -4F here yesterday. A little warmer today but not much. I am feeling a little better today, thank goodness. I did stretches first thing this morning and I have given in and started to take Voltaren. (It can bother my stomach). I have an appointment with a physiotherapist on Tuesday.

Enough, enough. Going on and on. Have a wonderful day everyone.

@trooworld Getting to drink caffeinated coffee is great! I can’t live without it. The book group sounded like fun and it was nice for you to meet new people. That’s good that you’re looking up recipes for your Cremi. @theslightedgeforever That’s good that you are tracking and stretching. I read The Measure and liked it. I felt like the author used current events for much of the novel: protest marches, politics, health care, etc. I won’t say anything else as I don’t want to give any spoilers. It definitely would be a good book for a reading group. Hi, all. I went swimming today. DH took wand picked me up so I didn’t have to worry about parking. Dinner last night was good. We are going to my daughter’s house tonight. She is preparing butter chicken. I’ve never had it before. I will probably look up several entries for calories and choose one. Or I might look up the calories on a recipe from America’s Test Kitchen.

@fancyladyJeri I missed your post when I replied. That’s hard when you take a medication that causes weight gain. I have a hard time, too, due to some health issues and being 73. I could not take the cold that you are experiencing but I guess you can get used to anything. That must be fun to have a reading group on Connect. I miss Connect but am not willing to pay for it. I hope the PT helps you.

@theslightedgeforever Thank you, I think I am. Well, we all read different books (whatever we personally want to read and we don't have to be finished with the book we are reading): I was reading The Travelling Cat Chronicles https://www.amazon.com/Travelling-Cat-Chronicles-Hiro-Arikawa/dp/0451491335 It was a lovely book: gentle, sweet, but a bit sad in places. It takes place in Japan from a cat's point of view (although he doesn't talk outloud). It was about relationships and connection. The Measure...I hadn't heard of that one, I had to look it up. Looks like it would provoke a good discussion. Good job on Saturday. How'd you do yesterday?

@fancyladyJeri I think I will FINALLY make some of the ice cream today, I'm off today but I plan on doing de-cluttering so we'll see! :D I love talking about books. I'm glad you have a good book club, too. It does feel good to go out for coffee. We like to sit outside and people watch. It might be too cold in Alberta for that but I'm in Southern California and it's not too cold mostly lol. WOW -4F! Yeah, I'd say it's too cold to sit outside for coffee lol. Oh my! I'm glad you have an appointment tomorrow, I hope it helps.

@fabgeekmom Yeah I don't know how I did a month without it lol. I am so addicted to coffee! I really enjoyed the book club. Good job with the swim! I love butter chicken, it's so yummy.

Hi all. Yesterday, my book club had its virtual meeting (separate from the in-person one I went to on Saturday night). I attended the virtual one, too: I went to a nice park here and sat in a chair and attended/read. It got too cold so I went into the car...I had to be there as my husband was attending his book club at the park at the same time and I had to wait for him. After that, we ran around and went to coffee. Today, I am off so I am going to do some decluttering.

That sounds like a cool book club @trooworld . And an interesting book, I'll make a note of it.

@fabgeekmom I'm a coffee addict too, although the older I get I find it makes me a bit nauseous sometimes. But I'm determined not to give it up lol. Butter chicken is good.

@fancyladyJeri good to see what works. I tried WW once and it was ok, but ultimately I found counting calories worked more. It is more effort though.

Not a lot of time today, it's my in office day. I had a nice relaxing weekend. I indulged a bit Sat night and was over calories a bit, but fine yesterday.

Have a busy week- at least the next few days. Going to a basketball game tomorrow and dinner out, so trying to be good on calories today!

@trooworld Those reading groups sound like fun. It’s too cold here to think about ice cream! But you live in a warmer climate so you will enjoy the Creami concoctions. @its_cleo I’m glad you had a relaxing weekend. Weekends are for indulging! I also try to save calories if I have a big meal planned. What kind of work do you do? I’m a retired educator. I’ve been retired since 2002. Hi, all. It’s really cold here but not as cold as it’s in Canada. @its_cleo Keep that Arctic air! I have to go grocery shopping and I’m going to work out on my bike. Dinner last night was really good. We had roasted green beans and naan to go with the butter chicken.

@its_cleo I love that book club! And the book was really good. I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend. Enjoy the game and dinner out!

@fabgeekmom Yeah it's a lot of fun. lol, I know what you mean about being too cold to think about ice cream, I have a hard time being in the mood for ice cream when it is cold out. Even here! But I'm going to try it. I'm glad you liked the butter chicken.

Hi all. My day off yesterday was very productive: we have these shelving units in our spare room and over the 5 years since we've lived here, the shelves have become very disorganized. Yesterday, I decluttered 2 large shelves of one of the shelving units. I also organized the stuff on the top of our refrigerator. I went to Dollar Tree and got some baskets to organize the stuff. It came out really nice. I'll work on more of it this next weekend. It took 2 hours to do that much. I also read a bit and made some split pea soup. I also took a nice nap. Today, I am working from home.

@fabgeekmom ya it's cold here today lol!

I work in privacy- the job is similar to a consultant although I do have an employer, but I get sent out to different clients. I do privacy risk assessments if the client collects personal information- to make sure they are using it according to law, security, etc. Like schools would have student personal info so if they were a client would do a risk assessment to ensure they are in compliance with privacy laws and keeping it secure.

It's a lot of reading and writing, which suits me.

@trooworld I love decluttering, though sometimes I get carried away and get rid of something I inevitably want.

Havent tracked calories very well the last couple days, need to get back on track- starting tomorrow bc tonight I'm going to the basketball game with my uncle. He likes Swiss Chalet, so we are going there for dinner. I would like basketball a lot better if our team were any good (they are not lol). But it will be nice to get out.

Morning all, I am trying to find myself in this program. It is one I can't follow, but today I decided to do one thing I know works to keep me full. My protein shake instead of eggs. It keeps me fuller and takes the sugar cravings away. I am tired and even emotionally tired this week, so I know I have to preserve me so I don't eat the whole house. LOL. I have jeans and a sweater on, tells you how cold it is here. I also cancelled my PT sessions. I am tired of all the appointments I have and I can do most of their routines at home. Now lets just make sure I do LOL. My car is in the shop and I am driving a hybrid Jeep Jeep..LOL it's lots of fun. My little one says mommy can you drive it? will we crash? Here to tell you I drive it better than my car. LOL

@fabgeekmom I have never had butter chicken. But then you guys always eat good different food. You are a house full of cooks..I am so jealous. LOL.

@trooworld I love to declutter, it is very head clearing and I think sometimes better than exercise. Good for you for getting it done. I know you and my sister love those book clubs.! :). How was the ice cream?

@its_cleo You are doing great keep it up. Your work sounds interesting. I can't see you getting bored. LOL

@fancyladyJeri Oh your place is too cold for me. We used to live in IL and I remember those - degree winters. Now when it hits 35 here I think I am going to die. LOL. I am a lifetime member, but I guess not that I don't go anymore. LOL. I would also have to pay as I am up from my goal weight too! You got this I know you can do it.

@theslightedgeforever yes I am working on grey area. It's hard for me as I was told to do what I was told, It's the first born in me....just do don't ask. LOL. I will let you know.

@trooworld Decluttering is always a good idea. A nap and split pea soup, too. I need to declutter a turnstile cabinet. DH is good at that so he may help me. DS doesn’t like split pea or lentil soup so we don’t eat that. Sometimes my cousin makes split pea soup for us. @its_cleo Your job sounds interesting. Enjoy your night out. @cbabie You have to find what works for you. Keep doing those PT exercises. That’s funny what your little one said about the jeep. Hi, all. It’s 27 degrees now and we are supposed to get snow tonight. Not a lot but enough to keep us home. I rode my bike this morning and talked to my cousin part of the time. I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon so I have to leave the house.

@fancyladyJeri Did you track yesterday? I did not. :( But I have so far today. Have you tried the Voltaren gel? What book did you read for your bookclub. We had to switch to Zoom during covid. My hubby and I have teatime everyday. Then on Saturdays we go out for coffee. My son went to Bali on his honeymoon and brought me back some different kinds of tea. (I basically like plain black tea) But I was gracious and did try one with him and it was good. We'll see about the other two. lol

@fabgeekmom Glad you got to go swimming and the bonus was not looking for parking. I love butter chicken. I was actually looking at that recipe today deciding if I should make it this weekend. My son and his new wife are coming over for dinner.

@trooworld When will they clear you for exercise post-surgery? That book about the cat sounds interesting. I sent it to my daughter. She loves cats. I might make that my bookclub book with my son when we are finished with our current selection.

@its_cleo I only like iced coffees and have been drinking them for 2 years now. Someone wants me to try hot lattes and I don't know. I'm trying to step out of my closed box.

@cbabie Yaaay you stepped into the gray. I knew you could. I have an easy butter chicken recipe for you. How will you keep yourself accountable to doing the at home PT exercises? I have good intentions to stretch everyday and a lot of the time I don't. My body is feeling it right now. How can we help each other? Time to replace those "voices" with new ones. You are in charge now. You don't have to listen to anyone but yourself. It's hard to let go of the people pleasing mode but it's necessary if it's toxic to you. By the way, what are your memories surrounding vegetables. You've mentioned before you don't like them.

I'm currently reading a book called Thin from Within by Joseph Luciani His premise is that we change our diets but if we don't change our mindset then permanent weight loss is off the table. So the book is about how to do that. Not just tracking what we eat or how much we exercise, etc. it's the thoughts surrounding those things that he has a strategy for.

My current non-working strategy is I'll start tomorrow with exercise. So far I've tracked my food. I've done the journaling about unplanned food that I ate as suggested in the book.

I’ve too busy to post. In between doing my exercises for my hands and my sore glutes and trying to get in my walking, time just flies by. I am also sorting our photos and writing dates and names on the back of them. It’s a project that we have been working on for quite some time. We start it then we put it aside then we start it then we put it aside, et cetera et cetera et cetera.

@theslightedgeforever Yes I tracked yesterday. That is my strongest goal- track track track. I did pretty good. I’ve used the Voltaren gel but when I am sore all over the pills work best. We are reading One For The Money a Stephanie Plumb Novel by Janet Evanovich, the first one in the series. It’s funny and we are all enjoying it. I love thatthat your husband and you have teatime every day. 👍

@cbabie it definitely was cold the other day, but it is warmed up considerably here. In Calgary we can get warm weather coming over the mountains and it will warm things up considerably for a while. And then the cold weather comes back and it’s cold winter again. I know what you mean about being tired of all the appointments. We get like that too. Your smoothies sounded really good. My husband used to make them all the time and they definitely are more filling than something else.

@fabgeekmom sounds like you were hibernating LOL. We had to do that when it was so cold here. I just didn’t feel like going outside at all.

@its_cleo I like Swiss chalet. I usually can find something on the menu that works pretty well for me. Have fun at the basketball game.

@trooworld your decluttering sounds great. What a great thing to do. When Covid came, I spent a lot of time decluttering my bedroom and the closet and other parts of the house. It felt really good to do that, but I probably need to do it again. Alas.

    Have a wonderful day, everybody

@its_cleo Interesting job! My work is very big on privacy. We get a lot of training on it. You would be someone that comes to our workplace! I know what you mean, I have gotten rid of things I regret as well. I still regret throwing away my 1st Kindle (the first Kindle version!). I would love to have that back! :D How was the game with your uncle? And dinner? I'm glad you got out.

@cbabie Protein is a great idea. That's good protein shakes help you. I've been cold here, too, even though it's not that cold outside...it's just cold inside lol. I have been wearing my puffy jacket in the house! I hope you keep up with the PT exercises. Sorry about your car. I always wanted a Jeep, the kind with no top. LOL maybe you should get one if you drive it better! :D I agree, it's very satisfying to declutter...as long as you don't get rid of something you regret. We do love the book clubs! I'll tell about the ice cream below but it was good.

@fabgeekmom I agree! That's good your DH will help, sometimes it's overwhelming to do it alone...that's how I felt, I had to break it down into smaller steps. That's good your cousin makes you split pea soup sometimes. I like it but only once in a while. 27F! Wow, that's cold! Good job with the bike.

@theslightedgeforever I'm cleared already. I did some Pilates but haven't been doing anything lately. I have put it on my calendar with a reminder (doesn't work). I have pre-watched workout videos to do. Nothing works. One of the problems is that I am only motivated to work out in the morning but my DH works out in the morning and there is no room for both of us to work out at that time. I was trying to work out on my lunch hour but that's not working out. I'm going on a birding adventure on Saturday so that will be some exercise. I think my best bet is to workout on the weekends. I would be fine with that but I need to add one more day during the week to that. Fridays would be the best day since I work from home on those days. The book about the cat was really good. A bit sad but good. That's cool that you and your son have a book club! What are you guys reading now? I think Luciani is right about changing our mindset. Please share any insights you get! Keep trying.

@fancyladyJeri Sounds like you are busy! That photo project sounds like a big project. The decluttering is so good for my mind as well as my house. I feel so much chaos going into that room that I don't like to go in there. Yeah it needs done every once in a while.

Hi all. I made my first Ninja Creami last night. It took about 3 minutes to process the mix that I had made the day before and froze for 24 hours. I made Mocha Chocolate Chip Protein Ice Cream, I added Lily's Sugar-Free Caramel Chocolate Chips to it. It came out very good, creamy and delicious. Very ice cream-like. It made a full pint. I had only a small portion of it. There's about 10 g of protein, 104 cals, in a full serving (I decided the pint makes 4 servings although I had about 1/2 a serving). It will be good to make these protein ice creams in the summer.

@fancyladyJeri What exercises are you doing for your hands? Your book sounds interesting. I went and looked it up.

@trooworld Could you and your hubby rotate the days. One time you and one time him. Your health is just as important as his. I do know what it's like finding the perfect time because there always seems to be something. The Ninja Creami recipe sounded good. I'm the opposite. I keep everything. I'm trying to learn to let things go. I still have my 4th grade year book. I'll die and then POOF my kids will just throw it all away. Ds and I are reading the 3rd book in the Scythe series by Neil Schusterman. It's named The Toll. First two books are really good. This one has introduced new characters and it doesn't feel as cohesive. But I can see how it's all starting to come together.

So I got up this morning and did what I thought was going to be a "stretch". I'm using the BetterMe app. I just started it but I think I will cancel. $15/month. I can get Fitness+ for $10
It was a 25 min workout and I was sweating and burned 186 calories. It seemed easy looking at the pics. I was having heck of a problem doing the Bird Dog exercise. I guess a lot of bodyweight to hold up on one hand and knee. lol Plus then there was balance issues. I guess I'll get better. I closed my Apple ring which I haven't done since before Christmas. So I'm on my way. Food is all tracked so far.

@fancyladyJeri That’s a big project with pictures! And yes, I am hibernating but I’m doing stuff inside. I’m retired so I don’t have to go anywhere. @trooworld When I was unable to exercise after surgery, I did seated exercises on YouTube. They don’t take up much space and I could get my heart rate up doing upper body exercises. @theslightedgeforever There are a lot of yoga exercises I can’t do because of my arthritis. Chair exercises are good and don’t stress the joints. Good job on closing your rings. Hi, all. We got snow last night and everything looks so pretty. Probably about 4 inches which might not sound like a lot, but we get snow so seldom the city doesn’t clear the roads. It still below freezing. We had some snow flurries an hour ago but no added accumulation. It was pretty to watch.

@theslightedgeforever No, he's not willing to do that. I've already brought that up to him a while ago. It's frustrating. And I already get up at 4 am, I don't want to get up at 3:30 am to work out. I'll figure out something. I just need to squeeze in one workout session during the week. The weekends aren't as much of a problem. I really like the NInja Creami. I used to keep everything but over the years, I've learned to let things go. This is because the places we have lived have been too small to keep a lot of stuff...it gets so cluttered and clutter makes me anxious. I love that you still have your 4th grade year book! I love the Scythe series. It's really good. I like the first two books the best. Good job with the workout. Some of those yoga poses are harder than they look. Yay for closing your Apple ring! And you tracked, woo hoo!

@fabgeekmom I've been looking into chair exercises. I may do some. 4 inches can be a lot of snow, especially if the roads aren't cleared. I hope you stay in.

Hello all. I went to one of the city pools for water aerobics last night. All the city pools are outdoor pools. This one was supposed to have water that was 86F. It was about 58F outside when I got in the pool. The water didn't feel like 86F, although they said it was. At first, I was really cold but stayed under the water and that helped. There were two other class participants. They were over-chatty with the instructor and then with each other. I was there to work out, not chat, so I was really annoyed. I started just doing my own thing while they were chatting. I burned 664 calories in 65 mins. I got home at 6:45 pm and ate a protein yogurt and then went to bed at 7:30 pm (my usual bedtime). I don't know if I will go to water aerobics during the week, I don't like getting home and going to bed right away. We'll see. I may pay for a day pass at the Y to go to water aerobics. At least they have some indoor pools. I have to do something.

@trooworld good for you trying water aerobics. But the people talking- one reason I don't like group classes is bc of stuff like that for sure. Maybe a different instructor/class would be better?

@fabgeekmom I've looked at some chair exercises, it's always good to do what you can. Still cold here, but not as bad as the last few days.

@theslightedgeforever bird dog exercise is really tough to do properly. I used to do it a lot with my trainer. I don't do it much myself bc I know my hips wont stay level and I need someone to correct me lol.

@fancyladyJeri my colleague just went skiing in Alberta for a week. Beautiful pictures. I'm not sure where they were exactly. I'm in the Six, as the kids say. Do they know that saying in Alberta? Toronto.

Ah the game was fun, the Raptors won which was a surprise lol. Dinner was good, but ya I am over calories the last couple days. Gotta get back to it today.

The last week has been busy I'm wiped today and ready for the weekend. I need to make some meals. I also decided I might shop for some new clothes? Lol. Not sure. I wish I could find some comfortable pants to wear that are not jeans but are ok to wear out, like to work or other places. All the legging stuff seems too casual. Although my office is pretty casual. Also everything is so expensive. But still I might splurge.

@fabgeekmom Seated/chair exercises are good. I saw couch yoga today. It's all about modifying.

@trooworld Woohoo on trying a water aerobics class. I remember my first WW group. The leader would chit chat with everyone and all I wanted was info on how to lose weight. lol

@its_cleo I didn't even think about how level my hips were. I was just trying to get through it. The good news is that it made today's workout easier. Do they have consignment shops where you live?

I got up and did my stretching exercises this morning. Dh was like what about my breakfast now that you are awake. It's going to have to wait until I'm done or go make it yourself or eat some fruit or a yogurt. Workout with me. So many options to choose from. He wasn't pleased. LOL I've told him I'm training him for when I'm dead and gone.

@trooworld Good job on water aerobics even though you were distracted by the talking. I’m not a fan of outdoor pools but the water was warmer than the outdoor temperature so that makes it more comfortable. @its_cleo I had to look up “in the six”. I learned something new. Good luck with shopping. Do the stores have sales this time of year? @theslightedgeforever Good job on stretching and not getting up to fix DH’s breakfast. Hi, all. Today is another day inside. The temperature are gradually getting warmer. Now it’s 33. In a few days we are getting more normal temperatures, highs in 40-50’s. DH and I did some decluttering in the kitchen this morning. We finally tackled that turnstile!Tonight’s dinner is leftovers from last week: turkey sausage marinara over bucatini.

@its_cleo Thank you! I love group classes but I don't like that talking crap lol...I'm there to work out not socialize! Yeah, I am going to city pools and there are a lot but only a certain amount meet my schedule criteria. We'll see. I'm glad you had fun with your uncle. Have you tried pants like these? I have several pair and love them: https://www.betabrand.com/ They are "yoga pants" that look like dress pants. AND they have pockets! Good luck on your search!

@theslightedgeforever Thank you! I've been to water aerobics classes before (like about 6 of them) but this is the first time I went at night in the cold lol. That must have been frustrating for you. Good job with the stretching! Good for you for how you handled DH's question! LOL

@fabgeekmom Thank you! Yeah, I wish the public pools had indoor ones but no. Yes, at least if I stay under the water, I stay a little warmer lol. That's good your temperatures are getting higher. I have a lazy Susan cabinet that is a thorn in my side, I decided to switch out what I put in there (things fall off the lazy Susan all the time, into the back of the cabinet where I can't get to them): I'm going to put the least-used stuff in there and put the most used stuff in the island. I hope you enjoyed dinner.

Hi all. I went through the books that had overgrown our bookcase and got together 4 bags of books to trade in at the used bookstore. I just worked yesterday (from home). I go back to work in the office on Monday. I've been bored at home by myself so I look forward to going back. I just hope my energy stays up. I have a couple of options for water aerobics: I can get a day pass for the YMCA (there are about 5 locations to choose from) for $15 or I can go to one of the multiple (maybe 6?) city pools for $4. I made plans to go on Sunday. I may go tonight to the Y's class, we'll see. I lost 1.8 lbs this week: I thought I would lose more but that's okay, that's a good rate of loss.

@trooworld that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! I will check it out. I'm not a very good shopper, I don't really know good stores and options. I did end up buying a pair of jeans- I only had one pair, so I got another. I worked from home since 2017 and have just started going in to the office, so I need more clothes lol.

@fabgeekmom yeah- the six- is a nickname for Toronto. There are a lot of different theories about where it came from. Drake likes to take credit for it, but it was around before him. Just lesser known. ....no good sales right now lol. But I just one pair of jeans.

@theslightedgeforever lol about training your husband.

Calories good yesterday. I think I have burned off my Swiss Chalet dinner lol. I'm glad it's Friday. Should be a quiet day. But i think it's warm enough and dry enough I can get a bike ride in. I can bike a little bit - like 30 mins- and walk 3 km a day.

@trooworld That’s good that you are making plans to do water exercises. Isn’t it great that you can burn so many calories without hurting your joints! Good idea to swap out books for more ( and different) books. I’m sure that you are looking forward to getting back to work and seeing your coworkers. Just don’t overdo things. @its_cleo I saw that about Drake. Interesting that the term has been around for a long time. I love learning new stuff. It’s good that the weather is cooperating so you can exercise. Hi, all. Most of the snow has melted. I went swimming for the first time since last Sunday. I’ve been in the house since last Tuesday so it was good to get out. DS is out of town so I’m cooking steaks tonight. I have learned how to cook them without setting off the smoke detector!

@its_cleo I love those pants. They look nice and people can't tell they are yoga pants (and they are sooo comfy!). That's good you got another pair of jeans, those always come in handy. I'm sure working from home vs in the office is a totally different wardrobe! :) Good job with your calories. I'm glad it's the weekend, too. I hope you got to ride your bike.

@fabgeekmom Yes, I love water aerobics! I just wish it were warmer outside lol. I am looking forward to getting back and seeing everyone. You have a good point about overdoing things. I will try to take it easy. Good job with the swim! That must have felt nice to get out. I hope your steaks turned out well.

Hi all. I have a busy day ahead of me: at 8 am, we are going bird-watching with the Audubon Society. I don't know how long I will last, it's a 3-hour event and it's a lot of walking, some of it uphill. I don't know if my knee will last. I will bring my cane. We also have to go get groceries and then at 3, I have to take the car in for routine maintenance. We started watching a movie called "Thelma" last night: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23778968/ It's a comedy about a 93-year-old woman who gets scammed so she seeks revenge. It's enjoyable so far. We will probably finish it tonight.

Hi all: someone shared this in the fitness challenge group I am in and I thought it was too good not to share:

"In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering.
In practice, consistency is about being adaptable. Don't have much time? Scale it down. Don't have much energy? Do the easy version. Find different ways to show up depending on the circumstances. Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day.
Adaptability is the way of consistency."

@trooworld I like that saying. For me, I've been trying to stay consistent even if I'm off my goal. Like normall if I was off calories I would just stop tracking. So I'm trying to still track at least, even if I'm off calories.

Or today was windy, so I went biking just a shorter amount rather than skipping it.

I was on track with calories yesterday. It was tough lol. Weekends are harder for me. Tonight I'm having a couple drinks, so I will be over, but as noted above- I'm trying to not let that derail me completely.

@fabgeekmom I used to hate cooking steaks bc of that! I moved a few years ago and this oven seems better. I wish I could BBQ but no outdoor space.

@trooworld I hope the bird watching went well. Taking your cane is a good idea. I totally agree with the article you mentioned. Life is all about adapting. @its_cleo Goog job on tracking and not stopping when the going gets tough. It’s all about progress, not perfection. Hi, all. The weather is in the low forties and the sun is shining. All is good! I ate leftovers from last night for lunch. I’m trying to stop eating when satisfied and the bonus was another meal. I went grocery shopping for the first time since last week. The store had the bread I like and sometimes have to go to another store to get. Dinner tonight is chicken breast that I marinated last night with a soy sauce mixture, brown rice, broccoli and edamame.

@its_cleo That's a good plan. I like that you are doing that. Good job with the calories. Weekends have always been the hardest for me, too.

@fabgeekmom Thank you. That's great that you are trying to stop eating when satisfied. I hope you enjoyed dinner.

Hi all. I am going to keep this pretty short. I am getting sick with something (there is a bad flu going around, I hope it's not that)...I have mild congestion and a sore throat, feeling tired/weak. Bird watching was fun but we only stayed an hour (I didn't want to overdo it with my knee).

@fabgeekmom At least it's warming up. I didn't know what 'in the six' was either. I made a chicken stir fry today. Actually I took a leftover salad and froze it the other day. We had eaten about as much as possible before we were tired of the salad. I can do 2 days back to back but not 3 days of same salad. Then I just took that out frozen and popped it into the diced chicken breasts I had sauteed and let it thaw covered while stirring occasionally. Added some soy sauce and voila, a quick meal. dh said, this is really good. I replied, I'm glad because you're getting it for lunch tomorrow too. lol

@trooworld Woohoo on your weight loss. That's good you are going to the pools. I don't like cold pools either. That's alot of books I was listening to a podcast last week and they were talking about most people equate consistency with perfection. So if we mess up we weren't consistent. I do that. I like James Clear.I have been saying "can I just".... and then do a modified version of what I planned. So my brain takes it as a win because I did what I said I was going to do. I hope you are feeling better.

@its_cleo Sounds like you are tackling consistency like I am right now. I like steaks but I have a swallowing problem and have to chew chew chew. More trouble than just enjoying the steak. Chicken is getting to be just as bad.

This weekend was busy. My son and his wife came over for dinner and so I made a lot of special food. Dh wanted to know why he doesn't get food like that all the time. (because I'm not spending the amount of hours that I was in the kitchen that day) I used to but now I'm in my golden years. LOL

I've lost almost 3 lbs this month so that's a bit of progress. I need to ramp it up just a bit.

@trooworld I’m sorry you are feeling bad. I hope start feeling better. You were wise to cut the bird watching to an hour. @theslightedgeforever Good job on the weight loss. I had to laugh when you said your DH wanted to know why you didn’t prepare those meals more often. Hi, all. Dinner was good last night and DH and I had it for lunch today. He had rice and I didn’t. I’m trying to eat more protein. I rode the bike and DH and I went for a short walk. The temperature was in the low 50’s. Tonight we are eating at my daughter’s house tonight.

@theslightedgeforever Thank you! The pools are not a habit...yet...but I hope they will be. I have an all-or-nothing thought process as well. That's good you've been saying that to yourself. Thank you. That's good you got to see family this weekend. Who wants to cook like that all the time lol. Wow, congrats on your losses this month! Great!

@fabgeekmom Thank you! I'm glad you liked dinner. I also focus on protein. Good job with the exercise. Nice weather!

Hi all. I am not feeling better but not worse. I got some Zicam yesterday and started taking that, hopefully, it's not too late to knock this out of my system. I mostly stayed around home yesterday. I made three recipes for meals this week: Spicy Instant Pot Carrot Soup, Easy Crab Cakes, and The Best Vegan Broccoli Cheese Soup. The carrot soup is REALLY spicy, I may have put too much curry paste in. The vegan soup is okay but I had in my head the taste of broccoli cheese soup so it wasn't like that and was a bit disappointing. I think as long as you don't have that in your head, it would be good. I am back to work today, I will wear a mask in case I am getting a sickness so I don't spread it.
