Rita - just a thought about your joke. In French they say 'the hairs', 'les cheveux'. So, when I'm going to wash my hair, I usually tell John, 'I'm going to wash the hairs'. :p Except in French it's, I'm going to wash myself the hairs. 'Je vais me laver les cheveux.' Talk about complicated!
I'm sure you did the right thing in pointing out your relationship.

    Afternoon ya'll
Well I was feeling a bit better earlier.,and I do actually. Thought my head is still stuffed up..
I didn't take the clutterbug quiz, but my place looks like a tornado blew through it..
I have piles of stuff everywhere and no energy to get it all picked up..my get up and go..got up and went..
Wish I had the stamina to go a little at a time to get it taken care of.. and i have to get my taxes done..( Squirrel) 🐶 and watching Delia etc.. im taking this time to just rest as the snow will come tumbling in tonight we are supposed to get 8- 10 inches..and the darn thing is I don't have a garage ,so as soon as it stops snowing I have to go and shovel my car out so I can get there to take care of Delia Monday.

Katie I am laughing at your "ladybug" comment....lol! It has taken years for me to incorporate some of my DH's "bee" tendencies into our daily lives. My cricket comes out in kitchen. Silverware is divided up, but cooking utensils are in cooking, baking, and special drawers. My drinkware is sorted by style in its cabinet, but my spices are just on shelves. I can't keep them alphabetical. My vitamins/meds are on counter, but not in pill containers( so butterfly). I definitely can be sloppy behind the doors, but pretty on the outside. Lol!

I was wrong! Went and took the test, and I'm a bee🐝, not a cricket🦗. But as you said, Kay, I have cricket tendencies about some things and in some areas. My meds are all in a basket, but they're ordered inside the basket... Should have known by the way I reset my craft room.

Katla started showing signs of dementia for a year or so prior to her move out of her home to the care facility with frequently repeated questions and other things. I was very glad that her children stepped in because both her husband and Katla needed help. It was sad to see her deteriorate (from a distance). She was a lovely lady. It is possible Katla may have been moved to a special care facility.

"Watching" Katla go through that was one of the more difficult things I've experienced online. I have been lucky not to experience any dementia in my family, so watching it slowly unfold made me feel helpless and incredibly sad. Katla is an Oregon girl, from where I live now and so incredibly kind. I felt close to her immediately and miss her and think of her often. She is a special woman. Very much loved here.

    Yes, I agree.

My grandfather developed dementia in his 70s and passed away in his 90s. And one of my former coworkers started developing dementia in his 60s. I recognised the symptoms/pattern. :(

    Good Sunday
Worked on getting tax paperwork together last night and now today everything in the house is bugging me-smh. There is just too much stuff again everywhere and I am not talking tax paperwork. Will have to do a walk through later. I need to smooth out my record keeping for taxes...maybe putting stuffs in the excel spreadsheet once a month and a separate basket for rental stuffs vs medical/donation. That would make for less time sorting and inputting. Unlike Machka, I find that part tedious but necessary.

Oh believe me, I am so incredibly happy that I don't have to do any record keeping for taxes anymore!!!

The only thing I have to do is to save the receipts from donations into a folder on my computer.

I am all about trying to find ways to simplify what I do. :)

I try to automate, outsource and not duplicate effort.

In taxes, we have someone who does them for us and has access to everything but donations through the Australian Tax Office.

In banking, banks have all sorts of handy tools now so I can download and/or print what I need to look at if necessary rather than putting it into an Excel spreadsheet each month. Plus most of our bills are paid automatically. Cheques are not a thing here, and not so much in Canada either, so I don't have to go through the tedious process of balancing a chequebook.

If I need a receipt, it will be emailed to me or sent to my phone so I can pop it into a folder.

My goal for my home office is to have minimal paper and everything neatly organised on computer.:smiley: That way, I can look at my data and play with my data.

Even at work, I enjoy working with the data, extracting existing data, organising the data, analysing the data ... but I'm not happy if I have to enter the data. Inputting data is indeed tedious. Fortunately, it's rare I have to do that.
