Did a yoga dvd today then walked to the BK here to see their new bldg, take pics to send to my store mgr. Now we’re going to Lowe’s/Home Depot to get the tile and vanity.

Rebecca food porn queen – yes, I’m seeing all of your posts. My grandmother used to put eggshells on her plants! That and coffee grounds

M – like I mentioned before, Vince is compromising by having to turn to his side a little to get the TP (he’d rather it be in front of him) while I’m compromising by letting it be recessed into the vanity. So the problem is solved. I can’t post a pic right now of the bathroom because I don’t have the right connection with me. But there is a 31” vanity (that’s the most we can use). 10” from the end of the vanity is the toilet. Another 10” from the end of that is the tub. While you are sitting on the toilet, reach your arm out. That’s how wide the bathroom is. That’s why I didn’t want to give up even 5” of floor space.

Ginny – Kohl’s gave me a credit card with a $4,000 credit limit in place of their Kohl’s card which I really preferred. Do you know that I had the credit limit reduced to $300 (I was concerned that if someone got hold of the card they could charge up to $4,000). That one action could negatively affect my credit score. Well, it’s high enough that it didn’t have a lot of an impact. I know that whatever you decide, it will be the right decision

Heather – you always make such beautiful cards

Allie – wasn’t Sean going to move in with you? Or was it Dan? How’s that going

klyia – lololo I hear ya about the tp roll/cat toy. When we first got the kittens, we had to put ours up on the towel rack (which is where the rug that goes in front of the tub is)

This morning exercised and then walked to the BK here. Came back and put a load of laundry in. Took it out and brought it to the condo so we could go to Lowe’s. I honestly thought we were going to purchase the tile but Vince wanted to take more measurements. He’s one of the “measure twice, cut once” people. It’s really not a bad thing

I was thinking that a wrap-around one piece tub went all the way to the ceiling. I couldn’t find one that did, then realized that they don’t. Even the tub tile here now doesn’t go to the ceiling. So it’s back to tile for the tub since we don’t want to have exposed drywall. The vanity has speckled top so I think we’ll go with white tile but a border of black

Did go out by the pool, but it’s quite windy and cool. But I did get my first pool session in!!!

Barbara – I misunderstood, it wasn’t that the contractor couldn’t install the one piece tub, it’s more that he’d prefer not to. But in the end we’re going to go with tile since he’s said that he’d tile up to the ceiling. He’d prefer not to install a one piece since it leaves about 2feet of exposed wall. Love that pic for Rebecca

Carol – I would say some sort of fraud. Good for you just ending it

Flea – glad to hear things worked out with your son

    Michele from NC
who was at the pool today...yea...even tho it was cool out

I am too, Michele. We are all making an effort to spend time together today. We have needed it. He is so busy. I've been missing our time together, and I think that's one reason I overreacted.

Carol, I’m thinking you handled it just right. I think it was smart to not engage further.

Flea, parenting is so hard at times. Hugs.

Flea - so glad things are good with your son, I'm sure you're right. You two just needed time together.

Tracey - Ack, I got behind. You did so well in your class - walking for graduation seems very fitting, and you certainly earned the honor. Love those shirts, by the way.

Ginny - wishing you the best at your doctor's visit. Stopping by the Casino sounds like some well-deserved fun. Amtrak sounds like a good way to travel for some distance, my sis and her DH used to take it across country and really liked it. She was able to pack enough food for a lot of the trip.

Rebecca - condolences on your aunt's passing. 96 1/2 well-lived years! So glad you have Amtrak to travel down to Oregon. Love how you've been able to spend quality time with your sister(s) and grandchildren by venturing out more these past couple years. <3

T stopped by yesterday afternoon and we went to the feed store to get chicken feed. Honestly, I couldn't think of a better way to spend time on a Sunday afternoon. :p She was telling me about her FIL, 92, who was supposed to quit driving per his doctor, but his sons are lax about enforcing it except for her DH who doesn't have power of attorney. FIL was a powerful patriarch in this community, he's not used to anyone telling him "NO". Now he has advanced dementia and is a threat and still drives (sorta) short distances (so far.)

I have been following this "Answers about Alzheimer's" YouTube channel for a while, and she has an interesting video here on when seniors should stop driving. Really opened my eyes. I think I'm still a pretty good driver - reflexes fine, can turn my head, not on medications. But I know vision isn't what it used to be (no more night driving.) Going to town once a week very early to shop is plenty for me right now. But I realize if I had dementia, I might really protest losing this symbol of independence.

    Here's the video. 12 minutes.
Make it a great week, ladies!

Count my house as one with the growing dust bunnies! Actually the cats are to blame. My husband used to vacuum on a very regular basis-at least every other day (he did not work outside the house then). I find myself just not looking at the floor much. I am improving on it but it really is never ending.

    Tracey-cute t shirts. I prefer crew neck t-shirts to the v-neck.

Rebecca-sorry to hear of your aunt's passing but 96 1/2?! Such a long life! I have always wanted to take a train trip. I was thinking about the one that goes across Canada but I will wait and see how everything goes. I mainly want to head west, see the Rockies and some of the Pacific Northwest. I am looking at seniors tours.

Terri-I always love your cheery hellos to us.

Woke up around 3:30-feet and back were bothersome. Took some ibuprofen and got ice packs for feet and back and dozed on the couch for another couple of hours. May also be a bit of anxiousness over doctor visit. I may stop by the Casino on the way home for some mindless time based upon what doc says. Or I could come home and do taxes-or maybe both depending on length of visit.

Well need to stretch out back and legs before starting my day. Warmer and sunshine today-high near 50.

    Take care all,

    Ginny in Ohio

Thank you for your condolances. She lived in Minnesota for most of her life, then over the last 10 years she's lived near her son in Oregon. My trip from Portland to Montana was pretty. Its was a couple years ago when my sister lived there. I woke up to snow which was so dramatic, just bought a coffee and watched the pretty scenery go by. I think your best bet is to get a sleeper car as my sleep was interrupted by stops, the sounds of the doors opening, etc.
I hope your doctors visit provides you some answers💖👍🏼. Big hugs!

Thank you for your condolences. She was the one of my aunts that looked so similar to my momma, so I kind of took to her early on.💖
Its been about 5 years that I realized that with Amtrak so inexpensive, that I could go down to my sisters or sons place most every June or so. Now wit both son and daughter in law working full-time, its a bit tricky, plus I need to stay at a hotel. Before when it was just son doing college, I could stay at their place and there wasn't any added expense of hotel. The last time I stayed and babysat they had Skin on a day crib next to them in their room, so I had an air mattress in Eli's room. That's not an option now that he's older etc. The good thing is that my sisters place is only 2 hours from sons. So if the kids want to see grandma they need to come down for a visit!
Do you remember me telling you guys a long time ago when we lived on the coast, about Prudence my neighbor? She was in her 90's couldn't get car insurance because she had had too many accidents. Once he said she turned a corner and her little dog in her lap, jumped out the window! It was a crazy situation, the dog was fine though! The courts finally had to get her to relinquish her license. She was a character. The was my first situation of how I didn't want to be. A confused,, with no family, bitter and angry elderly lady. The frustrating part is that her brother would drive up from CA periodically and she would act all everything was fine, I am just fine. So I had to set her down with a booklet I ordered from the senior center on services offered. I couldn't keep filling her prescription thing, writing out her checks to pay bills because she couldn't see, or walk her dog all the time. She got services to help her and she got on a waiting list for a couple facilities so hopefully she got in one of those.
We don't like to drive at night except when its Christmas and we're looking for lights.

Hey everyone, so lovely to meet you.

I'm Sarah, nearly 52 and due to significant back problems (for which i'm soon having spinal fusion surgery) I find it a real struggle to lose weight due to limited mobility.

I would love to have buddies for this journey to offer support and have support back.

Many thanks and I hope you are having a good a day as can
