One of the books I am reading is exploring the fact that some cancers are a metabolic disease. The theory is mitochondria becomes damaged when it is damaged it feeds on glucose to get it its energy. They are experimenting with having people fast before a chemo treatment. The theory is the healthy mitochondria gets stronger in fasting and the cancerous mitochondria weakens during fasting. When radiation and or chemo is done it kills the damaged mitochondria the healthier mitochondria goes through the treatment better. In the trials those trying fasting had fewer side effects from their treatments. It costs nothing to try a fast before chemo.

    My plan for the day...

For me it makes me think what can I do to strengthen my mitochondria (these are our powerhouses in our body) Eating within a eight hour window so have a 16 hour fast. Today because I ate breakfast at 9 I will be done eating for the day by 5. I will also skip lunch because I had a late breakfast for me. Moderate exercise is also good. Today at 5 I will put on one of my oldie records and dance to it down in my basement. Today I will start getting ready for bed at 9. Getting good sleep gives my body a chance to rest, repair, and remove toxins from my body. I will continue to feed my body nutritious food rather than empty calories. At four I will have my chilli that is packed with extra veggies and fresh pineapple for dessert.

Barbie I agree everyone experiences grief differently and there is no right or wrong way to go about it. Your dance line friend was ready and in need to tell her story. Hopefully she can listen to your story when you are ready or at least listen to what you have going on in your life. I try to get myself to remember I have two ears and one mouth so I should listen twice as much as I speak. (I need to work on following my own advice) I also need to gently set limits when others do not follow this guideline too! Adding Barbara's comment too...open heart  and mind  before mouth.

Was startled when I wore this Tshirt to see that it distracted from and covered a multitude of sins. Now I’m on the lookout for others with the same effect.

    What a great shirt.
