Good Morning!
Lana and Maureen, thank you. I know my SO is heartbroken for his son. He is an engineer so hopefully he can find another good job.
Bad day yesterday....depression...eating the wrong things. Today has to be better. But last night the panic attacks set in, waking me up several times. No fun.
Ok....here's to a good day for all!

Good morning all~~
Sandy - I feel bad for you with the depression and panic wake-ups in the middle of the night.
Have you talked to your doctor about this? Meds? Therapy?
Definitely avoid alcohol completely. Sending hugs~

Good morning!
Thanks, Lana! If only the medical community had real answers. I have been to psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, doctors off and on since the age of 15. They either give you pills that do nothing or make you a zombie, or they sit there and tell you what you have to do. Which is so obvious, but it makes me want to scream out "If I could DO that, I wouldn't be here!" My last session with a psychiatrist was just before Covid and that was the end of that. The office closed permanently and I decided that was enough. At my age, I do my best and cope. It's not always easy. Still I manage. I just wish I had some friends, but over the years I lost them all. And social anxiety does not make it easy to find new ones.
Probably typed more than I should have, but the anonymity of the internet makes at least that easier.
Yesterday was a better day food wise. I did get my doggie groomed and went over to the JoAnn next door. I got some yarn..,I think enough to make afghans for the grandkids. I want to go back today and get a little more before they are cleaned out.
TTFN...

Sandy - Thank you for sharing your situation. I would encourage you to talk a young primary care female physician at a major medical complex, which thankfully is something New Jersey has.
You deserve better than coping. You deserve to be living the best life that you can.
With love,

As usual I have been lurking in the background and hesitated to post because I haven't been doing anything to help myself and have gained about 3 lbs. in the last month, then I thought, It's called "serial starters" and that's what I am! So here I am trying for a fresh start in March. I am great at looking after other people and seeing things clearly but when it comes to me I stress and worry way too much and that's reflected in my eating. I was diagnosed with AFIB in 2019 I have become an emotional wreck. Can't wait for the ice to clear so I can venture out for a walk (bad legs) Till then I am doing some weaving, crocheting and knitting mittens as well as doing some sewing! LOL! Yes I flit from one thing to another, don't do any of them great but it keeps me mentally busy. Will be starting the month of March at 225lbs. As I said in another group on here I am so glad to have MFP in my life. Have a good day3

Computer issues am learning phone posting. Had headache already today-- hot chocolate night? Cathy... welcome and post when you can. Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane

Sara - I hope your headache went away and you got a good night's sleep 🤗
Cathy - stop by here often!
I had an afib diagnosis in 2011 and I had an implanted heart monitor for a few years to keep track of it. Alcohol always brought it on, so that had to go. I had to be on killer blood thinners.
Then in 2014 I had a cardiac ablation done, and I've been symptom-free ever since.
I would urge you right now to learn about mindfulness and mindfulness meditation. You've got to cease being an emotional wreck, which is adding harm on top of the afib. 🤗
Waves to all who stop by later on~

Good Morning 🌞
Phew it’s been a hot minute since jumping on the board. Brain has been in overdrive with work and trying to get through my to-do list before the next class starts this month. My diabetic pup is doing good. Still unpredictable with the sugar but she’s got so much going on in her almost 15 year old little body of hers. She’s still so happy through it all. Looking forward to the spring weather that should be around the corner. Plan on doing some early spring cleaning. I made it to aqua last week and Zumba this past week which was good.
Hope everyone is well! Can’t believe we are in March already!

Good Morning!
Lana, I will probably have a talk with my primary when I see him. Although not sure what can be done that hasn't already been tried. This runs in my family, too.
Missy, glad your pup is doing ok. I hope mine does as well at 15. 🙂
Sara, hope things go more smoothly for you today!
Cathy, glad you posted. That old saying about the longest journey starting with the first step applies. You will get to the end!
The changing of the seasons is welcome for getting out and getting some exercise. But it's not for my tv reception. The position of the sun affects my antenna and yesterday I couldn't get hardly any channels, even when I tried moving it. I feel lost without my local channels when I am sitting and crocheting. I do stream some programs but the local broadcasts are live. I can't afford cable so I have to figure something out.
Speaking of crocheting, I tried a pattern for a crocheted rose. Now I have been crocheting for nearly 50 years and that pattern was giving me fits! Crochet is supposed to be relaxing and fun, not a frustration. So I tried another pattern....this one with a chart. I taught myself to read charts years ago when I decided to teach others how to read them. The woman who made it said it wasn't very good and she wasn't kidding. I may try again today or give up on the idea of making a rose altogether. We'll see.
Have a great start to your weekend, all!

Missy, good to see you. Welcome, Cathy, and hello Lana Sarah and Sandy. I’m using the voice feature so sorry for misspellings of your names.
Today, my son and I went on a very long walk and were able to connect some trails that I have been saying for two years should be able to be connected. I’m so excited to finally made the connections between those trails. It was slightly over 3 mile walk and felt really good. Although I was really slow by the end of it. My dog had a great time too.
Well, weather is getting warmer and I always do better walking being outside and logging when the weather is good. I hope you guys are seeing more success than your future too.
Cheers,
Maureen1 -
Thanks everyone for the welcome.
A day closer to Spring, the ice has finally melted enough for us to come and go from the driveway.
Lana: I gave up drinking when I was diagnosed and was surprised that I don't miss it at all and you are right about being mindful
Sandy: Like you, I taught myself to read charts, sometimes I do better than others ! LOL! I am left handed and tried many times to learn to knit and crochet, I just couldn't get it. One day I said the heck with this and asked a friend to teach me as if I was right handed and it worked! I guess the only thing I do left handed is write!
Have a good weekend everyone

Hey Y'all~~
Just getting us started.....
Missy - good to hear that Chiara is doing well. Sometime soon, can you get the whole gang together for a group photo? 🐶
Sandy - I hope that you can find a fix for your antenna, and good luck with your ambitious crocheting attempts!
Maureen - how cool that you connected some of your trails! I love trails 🌲.
Cathy - that is cute about your learning to crochet at long last 👍🏻
Sara - Check in when you have a chance. 🌴⛱️ The Cabana Boys slack off a bit when you are not by the pool. 🌴🦩

Greetings, Gates!
Cathy, nice to see another crocheter. That is so cool that as a lefty that you can crochet as a righty. I was always told if you sit in front of a lefty and watch, it's like seeing it done right-handed. I tried that with my best friend's mother, who was left-handed, but that didn't work for me. My sister was a lefty, but she couldn't teach me either. Finally, my mother was able to teach me, although it took several attempts. I am one of those people who can do, but can't create. I wish I had the talent to design but it was not to be. Technically I can knit too, but I have a lot more trouble with it.
Lana, I keep trying with the antenna, but having little luck. The only good thing is I have a Samsung smart tv and it gives you live network news so if I can't get the news through the antenna, I can switch to the smart feed. But that only applies to news programs...nothing else.
Maureen, that's cool with the trails. Once I tried following some trails with a friend and we got SO lost. Years ago that might have been scary, but GPS saves the day. We pulled up a map and followed it till we got to a road....then we were ok.
Trying to eat some of the leftover food in the freezer from Christmas. Not really carb-friendly but in moderation, I can handle it. I can't afford to throw out food.
March has come in like the lion...my heat is back on. But more birds are showing up at my feeder.
Time to work on my rose and watch the Phillies. Till tomorrow....
Sandy
