Thanks Machka! I’ll try it on some of our dish towels, thought they were hopeless. Looks like mfp has "upgraded" again, color codes not working nor is the [img] I've saved, had to add it using the picture button.
Tina glad to see you back, sorry about the mister’s leg. Yours about who gets to decide where the toilet paper holder goes made me snort my water!
Only skimmed through pg 5 but a teensy headache is hinting that it might be time for dinner.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

- Hi Gals
We spent the last two days in Swedish Cancer Center and tests were good for my sister! Next scans and blood work in July. Feeling so thankful..

Heather - I hope your son and DDIL gets some peace and a few days relaxation soon. That’s a lot at once.
Isn’t Lapland one of the places that has a Santa Village? Im sure it’s one of the ones I had in my project last year.
I love a good cheese scone.Re - those are long days.
Ginny - I’ve wondered what will happen if we need medical equipment here. I don’t know how it would work. I also worry about needing an ambulance it would be quite difficult for them.
We have a British Pub restaurant here and it serves the mushy peas, I’m also surprised yours didn’t.Lanette - I’m happy you ran into “other” Roger. I remember when he did a couple of things for you.
I have fun collecting things to take to the thrift store. I don’t know how I keep finding things, I’m about ready to go through my cupboards again. I’ll be doing clothes in a few weeks.
I have tried and tried to cut out grocery budget and it’s very close to $900 for the month for the two of us. Its tough.Barbie - I’m with you, I don’t know what some of the emojis are either.
Pip - I bet you’ll get back to number one soon.
Lisa - I’ve been battling with YouTube it’s says I have an account, but when o go to reset password it says I’m restricted from having it. I need one of the young techies in my life to visit. So I’m only watching the short videos that you post on FB. It will allow me to view them for some reason and take some to YouTube to do it. So count me as one of the reasons your short videos have more views.
I’m pretty good with technology but my phone is doing some funky things. Our Outbreak status at work was lifted today! It was a happy day at work. The residents were happier, we were allowed to have activities again, and because of that the tv got shut off! It improved a lot of our moods. Then we could see each other’s faces so even better!
I went to Walmart after work to get a few groceries. $98 later I left and went to the ceramics shop. My regular night is Thursday’s but in the summer I go on Wednesday and I’ve gotten to know a few of the ladies that go then. One lady was a woman who came with her adult daughter. I’ve gotten to know the Mom a little more because the daughter didn’t come regularly because she had MS. Well the daughter passed three or four weeks ago, she was 49. Turns out a lot of the falls, tumbles and hospital visits were from alcohol not just the MS. I really felt bad for the Mom and she is such a kind lady, I popped in to see how she was doing tonight. She is doing ok. I feel for her.

Tracey - So glad you are getting a break from that TV. In the future I'm sure there will be class actions from employees about workplace noise. Those poor people who work in shops and restaurants with music going all the time. 😫
I woke up early again today, and decided to spend the time doing my PT exercises. I start off lying down , so I can work myself up gradually. Then sitting, then standing. I still have to do weights and my leg band, but I got a 25 min start on the day. I use the leg band when I'm watching videos in bed , or I'm on the phone. (My bed is my office) I also fit exercise snacks in during the day.
Today John is out for lunch with his cricket friend. They meet in a pub in the countryside. I expect John will have fish and chips, and, yes, mushy peas, but he often has calves liver, if it's on the menu. That means I can watch a film in peace and have curry laksa for lunch. 😛
I also will wash his sofa cushions. They are beyond disgusting. Mine are pretty awful, but his are ..... Spring sunshine has a lot to answer for.
John's elder daughter, who lives in a small village in the South of France, has emailed him to say that the women of the village have been having trouble with a stalker, a kind of incel type. He has been arrested, but the police let him go. Unfortunately, he has a gun licence, as he is a hunter. John's daughter loves to walk her dogs around the countryside, so it's a big worry for her. She's also discovered that her new dog, she now has three, has bad hip dysplasia and will have to have very expensive surgery at the big city hospital.
Now to do a Waitrose order!

I have always liked having music going when I work. Helps me focus and make the time pass. Plus silence is almost painful with my tinnitus.
And no, my tinnitus is not related to loud noise.
I've never liked loud noise or loud music.

Tina - I was telling my husband about your husband's leg breaks and he said it reminded him of a joke by his favourite comedian, Tommy Cooper.
"I broke my leg in two places. Eastbourne and Bournemouth. "
Done my Waitrose order for tomorrow. It's coming between 1pm and 2pm, in an electrically powered van. 😃 I've ordered Chinese crispy duck again.

I've discovered that what's available on the phone is slightly different from what's available on my laptop.
On my laptop, I've got these icons:
On my phone, I've got a paragraph symbol where the smilie icon is. But of course, I can use my phone smilies so I don't need a button for them on the MFP forum comment space.
The smilie selection is great!! Rita, here's yours: 👽️

Good Morning
Learning new things keeps our minds young! Maybe I will play this weekend.
My heart doctor's office called yesterday. I see her PA on Friday morning. If they didn't see much with week monitor, I will suggest month one. Last night heart stayed steady for 43 min walk around 105bpm. I couldn't get it up to 120 so weird.
MACHKA- I love that dress! I bet it will look awesome on you.
I need to get walking. Migraine still hanging on. Granddaughter was in bed all day yesterday because of hers. This too shall pass.
🫂 to all!
❤️ to all!
Grateful for each and every one of you!

My lunch - Curry Laksa. Big prawns in there!
I've texted our old painter to see if he can give us a quote for painting my bedroom. He hasn't got back to me yet. It's been getting on my nerves for years. Time for a change. I told John and he said his needs doing too. I hate spending money, but the room is a disgrace. I also need new furniture, but I don't have to do it all at once. One step at a time.

It is snowing here this morning … 😖
Tina … sorry to hear about your husband's injuries.
Betsy … wonderful news about your sister!
Both my husband and I are worn out after walking through Lowes and Home Depot (building supply stores) the past couple of days. The cement floors just kill us! I did, however, pick out tile for the bathroom shower stall. The shower floor will have an anti-slip base, but the shower walls will be staggered 12x24 polished tiles that look like marble. Still undecided on the vanity and won't pick the bathroom floor until I choose a vanity.
I've been doing a lot of mindless eating the past few days. That must stop! Being undisciplined makes me out of sorts with everything and everyone. I suspect the building supplies scattered all about have something to do with this. I do not like disorder.

Morning, my dear hearts,
Heather - Your lunch looks yummo! So pleased your years of exercise are paying off as you rehab that hip. You and Pip always inspire me.
Ginny - It was a good call you made on how kids use texts. My daughter calls, my son texts. Totally different communication styles to go with the channels they use.
Tracey - So glad you're off of Outbreak status. Just to have a few minutes without the TV blaring has to be lovely.
Betsy - So pleased about your sister's tests!
Thought I'd leave you with a moment of kitty zen - I'll have to evict her in a minute to get a couple things done, but love seeing her snooze - creates a very calm feeling for me.
Need to grab a piece of paper and do a brain dump of all the things I'd like to get done, the mental list is distracting me, and if I put it all down, I'll be able to reassure myself I won't keep forgetting what's on the list!
Corey will be calling soon for his good morning call, and once that's done, I'll get on the elliptical and then in the shower. Just can't get warm this morning, but the exercise will get my blood moving and get me warmed up.
Hope everyone has a grand day! Love y'all…

Good Morning…I got my resistance training for the week yesterday. shoveled out half my driveway and helped two different people get there cars unstuck on our street. Turns out we got 9 inches of heavy wet snow. Drew didn't do much walking yesterday. She hates rain and snow. Should be better today. I will try later to get to my sonson's house. I will let the warmer temps that are coming take care of his deck but I'll make sure his walk got done.
I emailed choir director and said snowed in so I didn't even attempt to go to choir practice last night. One thing to get stuck during the day I did not want to risk getting stuck at night. I keep my music at home and she posts the music for us to practice online. Hope to get to it later today.
Going to friend's house for lunch. I am taking a berry fruit salad because I know it has a low glycemic index. She asked if I eat cookies she is planning to make cookies using a cake mix. I told her I will pass but if she wants to make them for her and our other friend who is coming I have no problem with others eating these in front of me. I guess that is not quite true. I am not tempted at all but I don't like watching them eat them because I now know how bad they are for their health. I love them and want them to stay healthy. I do know I have to let others make decisions about what they eat for themselves. It is true for how others spend money, too. In matters of eating and spending I can only create habits that I know are healthy for me.

First time using the NEW format! I'm still house walking but must say that it's no where near the number of steps so many of you accomplish! I have also started using light weights on my walks hoping to help some of the arm flapping! 😂
Best wishes to all and have a great day!

Happy March birthdays to everyone!
Thought for today:
Why were the bees forced to move?
They wouldn’t behive!
Had to start with that. Got news that my son was admitted to a hospital for schizophrenia/drug/alcohol treatment. He also has no where to live once he gets out. He brought this on himself, but it doesn’t make it easier on me.
On top of that, my DOD is having a lot of financial problems right now, her car ‘died’ and her pool collapsed. Not much compared to my son, or even me, but hard on her. Mom is still doing well for her age. DH is still drinking daily but has calmed way down. My black water won’t drain, I believe it is another ‘s**t mountain’ that is almost impossible to remove. Plus packing to move. Life is not being good here. I try……

He isn't stubborn, just a large goofball! When you talk to him, his face moves like he's trying to understand you, then he says "roh-roh" low like "whatever".😂😂

Betsy- Sooooo delighted for your sister and you.🤩 You have been such a great support to her.
John back from lunch. He did have fish and chips and a good chat. He always seems so happy when he's seen his friend. I'm just going to make scrambled eggs on granary toast for dinner, as we've both had a good lunch. We have stewed plums for dessert.
Edie wants to come over on Saturday when Bea is at theatre school. I told her on Tuesday that we would love to see her anytime. I expect we'll do 'Art'. 😂

I like it a lot better, easier to read for me. Course I do have tablet to largest font setting!🙃😁
I don't like how when you start typing a new row, it double types your words for some reason. But the lines seem better spaced.👍🏼

😀 Congrats on maintaining a new habit. Don't compare yourself with others, it never ends well. When I started walking dogs on a dailyish basis, I walked for about 15 minutes. It took a long time to get to the long walks I do now.

Hi ladies,
I have done a tiny bit of reading on dementia and how to keep it at bay and everything seems to agree on 3 things - stay active, stay social, and learn new things…. So I think I'll switch up the changes on MFP to say they did it to force us to get comfortable learning something new…. Lowering our weight, keeping us social and forcing us to learn something new….
Thanks MFP!!!!😎
