Hello all, I am Teresa (61 yo) I am looking forward to getting in the best healthiest shape this year. I have had some serious medical conditions which took me down a dark road of distractions and now I am ready to get this party started! I love dancing, music, camping and outdoor activities, but find myself sitting indoors and looking out the window not actually going outside. Colorado has perfect weather most days and I live near a park and walking trails. Yet, fear, shame, guilt keep me inside looking out. My goal is to get more on track with healthy eating, weight loss and better self-esteem and confidence. I look forward to overcoming fear of being alone and walking on my own. I am no longer constricted by physical ailments and restrictions so I know I can do this!! Cheers

Hello Teresa. You sound like a very personable being. Perhaps you can look up senior activities in your area and find people who would like to go on walks with you. On the flip side, I'd be happy to get out into nature on my own. Sadly I'm not very mobile. I know you can also do this. Your optimism is contagious.

I too live in Colorado and just signed up again today. Lots of weight to lose, but love being in the outdoors, hiking and biking.

It is hard to get outside and motivate yourself. I get it. My name is Jamie

I have started a spiral. Trying to get myself to get healthier and off emotional eating. I have the I don't feel full when eating. Totally struggling with it.

Staying motivated when you are struggling with health issues is hard. Especially when you notice how much you need the help to get out of the house.

The encouragement and aches of muscles you can do it! It's hard but no one knows you but you. Your health is worth it.

I am going to get myself to move around and try two nights of exercise this weekend. I know you can take the journey with me.

Hi:) I have also been a member on and off since 2015, I used to find the logging too much so I always stopped. I have all the same interests as you!! Being outside is my calm. I started walking about 3 weeks ago, I try to go everyday. I found it easiest to start with 5 minutes of walking and then went from there. I only do about 20 minutes but I keep reminding myself that something is better then nothing:) The Fiton app has also been my lifesaver, if you don't have it get it!! It's free, I've paid for pro before but you don't get much more.

I started this all over again for probably the 10th time on January 19th. I started at 234 lbs, this is the heaviest I have ever gotten, I lost my brother and stopped caring about absolutely everything, especially my weight and all the food I ate. I set my first big goal at 195lb, I just want to be under 200 again! I am also excited whenever I lose 10 lbs, my husband calls it losing a sack of potatoes lol. I'm very close to 3 sacks, can you imagine carrying 3 bags of potatoes, HEAVY!!

If any of you would like a buddy to stay motivated I am in need of one.

Ugh, the amount of times I have been back here, and this is my second account because I felt so guilty about gaining I didn’t want to use my old one and admit it to my old mfp pals!!

We’ve got this! It’s all about mindset now the medical stuff has passed. 👍

Yes it is mindset and I now realize I'm allowed to have bad days without giving up completely:) I feel like I'm thinking about it in a whole new way, I used to do it to lose weight, now it's about being healthy!
