I shoved dirt for 8 hours today, I'm thinking I'll be wreaked tomorrow.

5k and Pilates for me today. Gorgeous day, misty autumn start, and I felt great.

Aww, thanks a lot @quilteryoyo
The idiot part: I hiked through a forest with needles all across the floor, steep up and down. And then decided in the evening to do a barbell session on top. It might have been a bit too much. And yeah, my strength did suffer 😂

Morning all
Got in 5.0 at 10'32.
Bit sluggish today but got it done.
@quilteryoyo some were gross. Some weren't. There's still a fair few things left.
I love trying brands with global regional variations... Fanta, Kit kat... McDonalds, Pizza hut. I think remember posting from India a couple of years ago at how many veggie options there were at both McDs and KFC!

@angf0679 I'm in London! We get smarties here.
Think Coffee crisp chocolate bars and ketchup flavour crisps are the only two Canadian Canadian things that you don't see here on in the States (that taste delicious too!)

Made the mistake of not having it at the end of the night after a pub crawl but having that for lunch after a long run a couple of years ago. Slept for like 5 hours during the afternoon it was that heavy
3 -
@tarun_yadavA What I found funny was when looking at Ketchup flavoured pringles, to see where they were made, they were made in Texas! Yet you can't get them there!
My hamstring is not feeling as tight this morning. I am planning on going for an easy run at lunch.

Due to MFP's new "TOS" and "Privacy Policy", I am no longer able to access this sight on my regular browser. I am not going to change my privacy settings or use this back-up browser just to access this site. Goodbye, MFP.

This morning I ran 5 miles. It was a bit chilly at 39F but not bad. One of my friends tripped and fell but luckily she only scrapped up the palm of one hand. We were distracted looking at a giant inflatable Easter chic in someone's yard!
I completely understand @tri_2_lose_weight. I used to keep a running list of my runs at the top of my posts, but it's a pain to remove the extra line every time with this new system.

Hi everyone,
Very busy day yesterday that ended with cleaning up a “flood in the house” due to a. pouring rain, b. not having a roof on the house, and c. having workers who don’t know how to read a weather report and thus would think to cover up the gaping hole with plastic before the storm. Instead they put the plastic on the floor under the open roof. Needless to say that plan was very stupid, leading to water everywhere inside of the part of the house we are still living in (water dripping down behind wall paper, on the sofa, and the like). Not fun at all.
In positive news, I had a nice interval run yesterday, tapering the usual 15 repeats to 10. I ran a total of 13.2km.
Today I met my friend at the gym and ran 10.3km easy. Some “older lady” apparently complained to the staff that we were talking (which we were quite normally, not particularly loudly) and it “bothered” her during her workout. I hardly ever have company, so I do feel like it is a bit of the shame. The staff told old to continue talking because there is no rule that you are not allowed to talk in the gym and we weren’t talking particularly loud. Another interesting day ;).
291.6/300km for March.8 -
Sounds reasonable.

It was perfect running weather this morning. 58°F, and no wind. I did an interval workout and felt really good about it. I ran 4x100m and 5x400m at 5K race pace. I was able to hit the pace on on all the intervals. With the warm up and cool down I ran 6 miles.
@Laurz9191 That is so terrible about your house! Water damage is not fun. And what a crank at the gym! She sounds like a real "Karen".

well it is getting hot so not sure how many more 2 per days I will get in. I managed lunch today but it was getting too warm. I may need to go back to walking at lunch if I have time.
Hard to believe I have managed to keep my avg up so far over 7 miles per day.
Great running everyone!

tennis tonight was literally a smash. My tennis partner/neighbor parked his brand new Lexus SUV and while we were playing we heard a HUGE crash. I could not believe it. Someone had swerved across the entire wide road and slammed into his car. probably totalling it and pushing it up on the curb. There was another neighbor walking with his two young babies in a stroller. Imagine if she had swerved the other way and hit them? Must have been going at least 30 mph. Her airbag went off and she had a cut bleeding on her head. I wonder what the heck happened? texting? falling asleep (I mean she was literally a block from her house - another neighbor) a stroke or ?? who knows. You can see how wide the road is…. anyway …. that really sucks for my neighbor because even if they total it he is going to be out a bunch of money and time.

Great run @kgirlhart . What is it with our ankles lately? I hope it is fine tomorrow.
That's a lot of shoveling @chris_in_cal . I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow. What was the shoveling all about? Garden?
Sounds like a great day @ContraryMaryMary .
@yirara That doesn't sound too idiotic, just like a lot. I hope you aren't too sore today.
Nice run @tarun_yadavA . You are very adventurous with food. Sometimes I wish I was, but I prefer to stick to things I know I like.
Nice run @Teresa502 . I'm glad your friend wasn't hurt worse.
@Laurz9191 Wow. Sorry about the flood. Yeah, those workers didn't have a very good plan. Good job getting a run in. Odd that the lady would complain about you talking at the gym. One of the things I don't like as much about my current gym is that very few people talk to each other. At the other one, we all became friends.
You're doing great @angf0679 . I hope your hamstring continues to behave.
You are also doing great @John772016 .
Sorry to hear you have decided to leave MFP @tri_2_lose_weight .
Sounds like a great run @kgirlhart .
You are doing amazingly well @SummerSkier . Wow. I'm glad you are all okay and hope the other neighbor is too. That's scary. Did the tire have an airbag? It sure looks like one.

I found out last night that I was needed at work today, so I got up early enough to get my run in before I headed out. The run was at 4.5, 4.7, 4.9/4.0 mph for 3/1 min, then 5.0 - 5.2/4.0 mph for 4/1 min and ended with 5.3-5.5/4.0 for 3/1 min. Avg pace was 12:27 min/mile. Avg HR was 126 with a max of 150 bpm.
On the cool down walk, I increased the incline to 6% and my ankle was okay. I guess I've tested it inside enough. If the weather is good, I'll try to driveway tomorrow.

Three empty raised bed planter boxes....now full
Six cubic yards of soil. After two more hours this evening the project is finished. Remarkably I didn't feel too sore today
8 -
Hey Commonwealth people, we in the USA know nothing of "Parkrun" do you think it could work over here in the States?
0 -
@chris_in_cal Parkrun is already in the states, there’s just not as many as in other countries. Unfortunately none in San Diego. Check out https://www.parkrun.us/ - it’ll tell you what’s needed to set one up locally.
Nice planter boxes by the way - I have four in a similar size, although not as deep, and they’re desperate for a soil top up!

Morning all
Got in 5.0M at 10'01
@quilteryoyo I'm actually quite boring. Same bar, same brewery, same restaurants... Only when I'm abroad I like to see how other ppl love/eat. Human Geography if you will
@Laurz9191 I'm sure you're not meant to talk in the gym in Germany! (There is always a LiamCarps clip! )
3 -
That's awesome @chris_in_cal . Glad you aren't sore today. Be sure to move around a lot today, or the DOMS could really set in. Of course, your weight training has probably helped with that.
@tarun_yadavA Great run. I never thought of you as "boring." At least you are adventurous when you travel. Funny video.

Went winter camping over the weekend and a short hike. I felt the hike after for a few days….dang, 2 months off does this. Meanwhile, A Walkin' We Will Go….. 39k for the month so far. Let's see if I can break 40. So many things happening over the last couple of months. Oh well. Still have an eye on some races later in the year.
7 -
Today is a rest day from running. I need to do a core and strength training workout. I really need to work on those two areas. I am also going to the Runners Yoga video I found. I really need to loosen up my muscles. I am stiff everywhere from shoulders down and have been that way for years.
6 -
True, and the parkrun page is full of Britishisms, and there are about 80 clubs in the country. (probably half active.) That's like having one active club for the combined population of Australia and New Zealand.
Statistically speaking it isn't happening yet…though hats off to the intrepid folks out there pioneering the effort. I can't say I completely get it, but a YouTube runner I follow talks about doing them in the UK, as a way of visiting a different city or area, getting a run in, and seeing a bit of the area. Sounds nice.
I may not be the person to spearhead bringing it to my continent…but who knows.
Do you ever participate @ContraryMaryMary? How close is your nearest Parkrun?

Great vid, "yup" those are the personal stereotypes I hold too. :)

Yay, wanted to run 4 miles, and I did run 4 miles. Today's run was so much tougher than the last two longer ones. Basically a not so good day. Decided I want to run 80.5km for that stupid Garmin badge this month. 3 more runs planned, thus that should work out.
