    @cbabie I’m glad you’re feeling better. I love celebrating birthdays. You’re too funny about the salmon, but I get it. You probably wouldn’t like walking through the seafood market in Seattle. I forgot what it’s called. It’s the one where the employees throw the fish to each other.

    @fabgeekmom I agree. My work cares about the health and safety of their staff (and they just take care of us in many ways). I'm glad the weather has been nice enough for you to go for a walk. I love salmon.

    @cbabie I am so glad you are feeling better! The first day of spring is a nice day for a birthday, happy birthday to your daughter! Exactly, give me the dang pillow lol. I was so surprised when it escalated and became a thing. Yes, she does bring a good perspective.

    Hi all. Well, it's a good thing I went to see the surgeon. He thinks what is going on is that my stomach pouch is inflamed and I may have an ulcer as well. There is also the possibility that I have developed gallstones, so they are going to schedule an ultrasound of my gallbladder. For now, he gave me 5 prescriptions to take (2 of those are antibiotics)! The burning pain is gone since I started the meds but I haven't eaten anything since starting so I don't know if the other pain is gone. I lost 4 lbs this week and am getting close to Onederland! I'm at 210.4 lbs.

    @trooworld That’s too bad about the gallstones but good you don’t have the burning feeling after taking antibiotics. The 4 pound loss is really good. And so close to onederland! Hi, all. Today was a swim day. DS grilled the steaks and they were so good!

    @fabgeekmom Well, I may not have gallstones. He doesn't think I do, but he's doing an ultrasound to rule it out. Thank you! Good job with the swim. Yummy steak meal.

    Hi all. I am starting to feel much better: I don't have pain when I eat or drink anymore...well, not much. I am going to get my hair cut this morning and then later, meet some old coworkers for coffee. I hope to do some artwork at some point.

    I’m new and trying to figure out how the “community” aspect of this platform works. Anyway I signed up for this app originally 10/22 but after a day I left and decided to sign up for Noom. Loved and did it for about a year. Then took a break and realized I needed more “community” to help me with ongoing weight loss and joined Weight Watchers. Also loved that but when my membership expired I didn’t renew and now I’m back to this free platform. Hoping I love it too! Since Oct 2022 I have lost 55 lbs and have another 40 to reach my goal.

    @rosied1226 Welcome! I never really figured out the community aspect. But I did find this group and check in. After doing WW, the community is not the same as community on WW. I think you have to find the people you want to interact with.

    Thanks for letting me know. It’s definitely very different than WW but I’m sure this will work just fine!

    @trooworld That’s good news! It’s good that the surgeon is following up. That must be a load off your mind. It’s good that you’re feeling and eating better. Hi, all. It’s warmer here so I went for a walk. We’re eating out tonight. I’m not sure where.

    @rosied1226 Welcome! Congrats on your success so far, 55 lbs is awesome! You must feel so much better. Wishing you much luck and I hope to get to know you better.

    @fabgeekmom Yes and it is a load off my mind! I'm glad you got out for a walk. I hope you enjoyed dinner.

    Hi all. I got my haircut which I am happy with. Meeting up with my old coworkers was fun, it was nice to see them and hear what they've been up to. Later in the day/evening, my husband and I went to a coffee shop and I painted and drank coffee while he read. Then we walked around our favorite neighborhood and people-watched. It was fun.

    @trooworld That sounded like a lovely day. Hi, all. It was chilly this morning so I rode my recumbent bike. DH and I went to see our granddaughter play in her rock group. DS is cooking tonight. We are having Asian chicken and rice and an Asian salad. Both recipes are from the Milk Street Fast and Slow cookbook.

    @rosied1226 welcome!

    @trooworld

    I hope you're feeling better. Lots of health stuff to deal with. It really sucks. An hour ago I was just thinking- is getting old just one big pain all the time? Lol.

    I have to get back to calorie tracking, I've been eating take out, plus chips and dip lol. I get anxious and then stress eat. Or at least that is my excuse.

    So later this week I will try to start tracking better. I have been biking a bit more. Up to 9 km. The physio I'm finding challenging, so I may take a break this week.

    @fabgeekmom

    that's cool your daughter is in a rock group. I saw a thing here for a fun ukelele group and it said all levels. So I contacted them does all levels of experience mean no experience and I don't have my own ukelele? Apparently not lol. Shame it was at a brewery, it would've been fun to 'jam'.

    @cbabie I hope that cold stays gone!

    —Yeah what is up with the @ thing here what a pain. Typical technology where fixing it means- how can we actually make this worse for people to use?

    @trooworld Thank you! I physically feel so much better with the weight loss… my back feels great now, my ankles don’t swell up anymore, I sleep better. It’s really a blessing!

    @fabgeekmom It was. Good job with the bike. I hope you enjoyed the rock performance. Yummy dinner!

    @its_cleo I am, thanks! Yes! Getting old IS a big pain all the time lol. I'm in my 50s and find it annoying. Getting back to tracking is a good idea. Good job with the biking! How's work going? For the @ it is a pain. I don't bother, I just bold people's names and hope they see it lol.

    @rosied1226 That's great! I am at a point where I've lost 46.6 lbs now and I feel so much better emotionally and physically.

    Hi all. I repeated what I did the day before (coffee + making art) and also got groceries. I'm very happy with how my art piece turned out: see below piece. I also stopped into a gallery that I am trying to participate in a show at. Their instructions for submission were a little unclear. They told me they want me in the show, so that's good. Now I know and can work on a piece for the show. Came home and was lazy...just grazed on crackers, cheese, and salami for dinner. I plan on cooking Lemony Lamb Meatball Soup with Rice soup (America's Test Kitchen recipe) tonight but I will sub lean ground turkey for the lamb as I don't like lamb.

    @its_cleo LOL. It wasn’t that kind of party! Mostly parents and grandparents watching their children perform. Yes, calorie counting is w good way to control weight and eat healthier. @trooworld I love the painting. Grazing on cheese, crackers and salami sounds good. I’ll have to look up that recipe. I’ll definitely use ground turkey. I bought some at Sam’s Club for a good price. Hi, all. Today is a swim day. We’re eating leftovers from last night for dinner. It’s supposed to be warmer today but windy. I think spring weather is approaching soon.

    @trooworld Yes to the bolding. Well except that time it just popped up blue. Work is ok but busy. If I get through the next couple weeks it should be better. It has been going ok though. I'm just used to more down time lol.

    I love your art. I love octopusses. (Probably not correct plural). They are such smart animals. I'm glad you got into the show.

    @fabgeekmom lol. I'm glad you had fun regardless. It has been cool here the last few days. I keep thinking spring has sprung, but not yet. I have 2 plants I pruned but I'm not a plant person so I'm waiting to see if they'll live lol. They've been struggling for quite a while, so there was some dead leaves and stuff.

    Ok so tomorrow for real I have to start counting calories again. That's my commitment. Other than that I'm good.

    I like old musicals, though I haven't seen very many. I just watch when they come on TCM. Right now I'm watching Easter Parade with Judy Garland. I like most of her movies except Wizard of Oz. Oh and I don't like A Star is Born. Easter Parade- I read Gene Kelly was supposed to be in it, rather than Fred Astaire. Astaire is ok, but I really like Gene Kelly. But I'm enjoying it.

    @its_cleo I think I’ve seen Easter Parade. I don’t watch those old movies often but when I do, I enjoy them. My DH does the gardening and inside plants. That’s not my thing. Good luck with your plants.

    @fabgeekmom Thank you! The grazing was good. The recipe was really good, too. That's where I got my ground turkey, too. That's good the spring weather is coming.

    @its_cleo Ha that's funny that now it's turning blue. I'm glad work is going okay. Hopefully, the down time will come. My work's been busy, too, and no down time (I am also used to being able to breathe lol). Thank you! They are smart animals. Thanks! Today's the day...go count your calories! I haven't seen Easter Parade. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

    Hi all. I went to the worker's comp doctor yesterday morning and she said I need to strengthen my back muscles and that I should try yoga, particularly some class at Core Power Yoga. I signed up for a free week trial there and will give it a go. I reserved a spot in that class tonight. It's going to be hard going after work but hopefully, it will go well. I'm not going to get a membership at that place, it's too expensive. But I might buy day passes once or twice a week. The doctor also thought my back problems would be alleviated by an ergonomic assessment, which my health and safety team did yesterday afternoon. They made some recommendations and will bring in the physical therapist to look at the set up as well. The soup was easy to make and it was really good.

    Morning all, yesterday was a blur, back to school, overslept, you know all the fun Monday stuff. LOL. It's in the 90's here but then goes back down to the 70's this weekend. I am feeling much better, but didn't exercise this week yet. I am going to get back to it today. Eating has not been good, someone decided to bring jelly beans into my house…I don't just eat one at a time..so putting a lock on them. (in my mind) LOL

    @trooworld, so glad you are getting some answers and feeling better. I love your picture..it says trooworld all over it!!! Yea almost onederland!!

    @fabgeekmom You are so right…I would not like the fish market.. LOL. I am going to try to make that salmon tonight…I just couldn't make myself do it earlier. My daughter said to me yesterday, you really don't like a lot of the foods you cook for us..I said nope…she said I wouldn't cook a food I wouldn't eat…but I am glad you are not like me. LOL

    @its_cleo just take the first step and the rest will follow…you got this tracking thing. I love music, but I was never into musicals…not sure why. Glad you are enjoying a few.

    @rosied1226 Welcome to this board. Yes there was nothing like the WW community. I just threw away all my old contacts emails and mailing addresses. We used to have so much fun! I hope you enjoy this board and get lots of support for your next journey. Congratulations on the loss.

    @trooworld Hopefully you will feel better as you follow up on the doctor’s and teams’ recommendations. Yoga sounds like it would help. I’m glad the soup was good. @cbabie I’m glad you’re feeling better. I love jelly beans and try not to have them in the house. It’s too bad someone brought them to you. But you can get back on the program and start again. Hi, all. It’s warm again today. I went for a walk this morning. Someone in the neighborhood is grilling something and it smells so good! We are having slow cooked North Carolina barbecue for dinner. It’s pork butt, vinegar, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. DS is making a vegetarian Brunswick stew and coleslaw.

    @cbabie I'm glad you are feeling better. 90s, wow! My husband loves jelly beans. Put that lock on those! lol Thank you!

    @fabgeekmom I hope so, too. I love when I smell grilling when I'm walking lol. Your dinner sounds good.

    @theslightedgeforever Good to "see" you. Enjoy your SIL's visit. Good job with the exercise.

    Hi all. I didn't go to the yoga class last night for a couple of reasons: yesterday morning, we noticed a water bubble in the paint in our bathroom...yep, another leak in my bathroom from the upstairs neighbor! This is the 3rd leak in 5 years! I was so stressed, angry, upset that I could hardly function. We got a hold of the HOA and they sent their handyman to investigate and they called a plumber. My husband had come home from work and handled it for us. Then, it took 1 hour 45 minutes to get home due to traffic. I don't think even if we didn't have the leak, that I would have gone to the yoga class at 7: I am usually going to bed at that time. I will go to a class this weekend instead.

    @trooworld Wow, you really had a stressful day! Traffic and plumbing woes. Hopefully you got it fixed. I don’t blame you for not doing yoga at 7 PM. I try not to let anything mess with my sleep schedule. Perhaps if you take a class during the weekend, you can do some of the stretches at home. Hi, all. It was windy this morning so I rode the bike. I had my PCP yearly appointment this afternoon. All was well and I have lost about a 1 1/2 pounds since last year. Also I have lost my Bar Mitzvah weekend weight. Tonight we are having last night’s dinner. Everything was good and I look forward to eating it again.

    @fabgeekmom I did. It was so stressful! I thought I would burst lol. It's in the process of being fixed, the plumbing is fixed but they have to come back to do the drywall. Good idea to do the stretches at home. Good job with the bike! Congrats on a good visit with the doc and losing the 1 1/2 lbs. I bet that dinner WAS good!

    Hi all. Not much going on today, just working. I've been tracking lately, for about 5 days. Last night, I made this Roasted Carrot Salad for dinner and it was amazing. I added chicken breast for protein. The dressing is a citrus one and it is really delicious: https://www.chelseasmessyapron.com/roasted-carrot-salad/

    @trooworld The salad recipe looks good. It’s good to have a day with not much going on. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. I’m making turkey burgers for dinner. I’m adding Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to the ground turkey. DS will grill them. We also will have coleslaw and air fried frozen sweet potato fries.

    Hi all. More stress yesterday: my MIL was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. She's got a compromised immune system, so it's particularly worrying. I'm glad I work from home today so that I can be gentle with myself.

    @trooworld I’m sorry your MIL is in the hospital. I hope she recovers soon. Hi, all. It’s warmer today so I went for a walk. I’m sitting outside but it’s getting hot so I may go inside. Today is DH and my 50th wedding anniversary. We’re not doing anything special today but tomorrow DS is making a special meal for us and my daughter’s family. Tonight is steak night.

    @fabgeekmom Thanks, me too. Good job with the walk. That must have been nice to sit outside (until it got hot). Happy anniversary! 50 years, wow, that's incredible! I can't wait to hear about your special dinner.

    Hi all. Well, on top of the stress of my MIL being in the hospital, yesterday we noticed that the pipes that they "fixed" were leaking again. So, the plumber was sent out again and they have hopefully fixed it now. Today, I have to drive 57 miles away to drop off my wedding ring set to get restored: the main stone is a ruby and there is a scratch on the table (the top part). There are also microabrasions all around it. Also, there are tiny diamonds all around the ruby and on the band and one of them is missing, so that needs replaced. Also, the white gold needs replating. We are meeting the jeweler in their town, which is a mountain town with lots of good pie. I may have a sugar-free piece.

    @trooworld That’s too bad about the plumbing. There’s always something! That trip sounds like fun. I hope you enjoyed your pie. Hi, all. We went swimming today. We don’t usually go on Saturday but we missed Wednesday due to a doctor’s appointment. Plus I wanted a calorie deficit since we’re eating a big meal. DS is making lasagna and also got garlic bread. Plus we’re having salad and cake and ice cream for dessert. I don’t usually eat this much but this is a special occasion.
