@trooworld Good job on the weight loss and the gym, especially since you had a headache and worked out anyway. The scale sounds interesting but would make me crazy. I hope you find what you want at the yard sale. @theslightedgeforever There are a variety of instructions on the app: sometimes the instructions are to go by an exertion scale, other times to walk or run faster, etc. I just do what I can and enjoy the music and listening to the instructors talking. I have walked around the gym when I couldn’t get a machine. There’s nothing wrong with that. I know you enjoyed talking to your son and his wife. Hi, all. Today was a swim day. The weather is still nice and I am sitting under the umbrella on the front porch. For dinner we are having NC vinegar barbecue ( a pork butt slow cooking in vinegar, salt and red pepper flakes), coleslaw, a vegetarian stew, and cornbread. We’ll have leftovers to freeze for dinner one night next week.

@theslightedgeforever Thank you ! For my workout plan, I changed from doing upper body on Fri/lower body on Sat/full body on Sun to: PPL (Push Pull Legs)...see the image below for details on PPL. I wanted to change because I had been doing the same exercises for over two months and I felt it was time to change. Also, because I felt like I could do a better routine. I asked ChatGPT what kind of workout I could do since the only days I can go to the gym are Fri, Sat, Sun. That's understandable to need a few days after your guests leave. Thank you, I'm very pleased. I agree with you: I've been watching a lot of older (60s+) women who lift on Instagram and they are amazing and in great shape! It's really inspiring. I have been watching the Biggest Loser documentary. I am on episode 3, I think. It's eye-opening but not too surprising. What do you think? Good job at the gym! I need to be better at warming up. Can you do a recumbent bike? That's my warm-up of choice (when I do warm up). That's nice that you got to spend time with your son and his wife.

@fabgeekmom Thank you ! Since I only go on the scale every couple of months, it doesn't drive me crazy. If I had that at home, than maybe I would go crazy lol. Good job with the swim! Wow, I would love that dinner!

Hi all. Yesterday, the gym was good: it was the 2nd day of my new routine. The exercises I did yesterday included: wide grip cable lat pulldown, cable seated row, dumbbell bent-over row, dumbbell one-arm row, barbell curl, cable bicep curl, cable rope face pull. The garage sale was a bust: I had to wait for my DH to get home (after the gym, he decided he needed to go on a long walk even though he knew we were supposed to go to the garage sales! grrrrr!). We didn't leave the house until 10:20 and it was basically over by then: it officially ended at noon, but we stopped at like 4 sales and they either were packing up or had junk left. I was so disappointed! We went to Panera for lunch and I had a half-salad. Later, I spent a little over an hour at the dealership getting my oil changed and then my DH and I went for coffee and reading time. I made dinner (Coconut Curry Shredded Beef over brown rice) and it was good. It also had a cucumber salad recipe included so I made that, too. We started watching a horror movie: Talk to Me. I got creeped out and suddenly said, "Maybe we should go to bed, it's getting late" lol, I am a chicken! Today is leg day for me at the gym, I am sure to not be able to walk well tomorrow lol.

    Water yesterday: 56 oz

My phrase for the year: “A new era of me.”

What ChatGPT told me to do for a Fri, Sat, Sun workout routine:

@fabgeekmom Your dinner sounded really good. Sitting under an umbrella sounds so relaxing. I hope you enjoyed your swim.

@trooworld Probably could do a bike but my thighs just burn and I'm ready to get off after 2 min. lol We have a 20 min max on treadmills when it's busy. I like that push pull legs plan. My current strength training plan is 3 days a week. A=Chest/Back Shoulders B= Legs, Biceps, Triceps So it goes ABA one week and then BAB then next. I throw some ab work in there occasionally. Not very often. I should do more but……

Biggest Loser comments: I know it's easy to gain weight back but I wonder how do you let yourself gain all the way back to major obesity like Danny did. I've gained back 40 since covid. So I'm pointing fingers at myself also. I know people will easily gain 20-25 pounds back when they return home because of environment and real life. They are no longer working out til they puke and for 6-8 hrs a day nor eating such low calories. It was still a motivational program for me. People knew what they were signing up for after Season 1. There were three agendas happening in the show. 1) Trainers-weight loss via diet/exercise 2)Doctor-Health 3)Producers-Money and entertainment.
