Hour commitment - I won't eat again until after 5 pm, unless we take FIL to early dinner. Can still have my dose of metamusal.

Hope you all had a good holiday weekend. It was the first Easter in a long time that I didn't go to church. V came in late Saturday and was leaving Sunday so I opted to stay home with her. Sierra was in Philly at a rowing competition, and I missed her greatly. Growing up Easter was a special holiday for my family. We (Mom, aunts, and cousins) would drive out to my great grand parents and attend church then go back to the homestead for a great meal. My great grandparents were amazing people and I was lucky enough to know them for 18 years.

Got a lot done on Good Friday. Got V's room cleaned and organized! She was very happy when she came home to a relaxing place. The chaos of it was very stressful for her, but the thought of cleaning it was overwhelming. It took Tim and I together 9 hours to clean it.

Saturday we went to Pittsburgh for a check in with Merlin and to teach us how to deal with the issues we've had since he has been back from training. It was a really productive and informative session. The suggestions the trainer had made an immediate impact when we got home. After we got back we went out to dinner. I had pizza, but only 2 slices. Of course, lunch was fast food on the road which was both high cal and low satisfaction. Sunday was a kind of lazy day, but we did go visit the my mom and Tim's parents so they could see V. Then we headed home where she did some eco dying of material for a school project. The yellow (turmeric) and the purple (black berries and blue berries) went well, but the green (artichoke) was not very effective. She then stayed for dinner, and headed by to college around 8:00. A little later than I'd like for her to leave, but I was glad for the time together.

Didn't weigh in today. I was running very late, but truth is I wanted to give me a few days to "process" the larger carb-y meals I ate the last 2 days. I just feel large and bloated.

I am so far behind in not only posting.. but in reading the posts! When I got on, I had like 76 posts to read!

Its been a crazy few weeks.. and emotional eating has been happening too much for me. I can't go into all of what has been happening.. but short story.. hubby has a stress test today, then surgery will be scheduled for an aortic aneurysm he has. Daughters meds have been adjusted so much from this new doctor.. I was so worried we were heading downhill like 10 years ago. But… that has finally been fixed, and she has been doing better.. as good as can be expected. And hopefully hubby will pass his stress test, so they can get the aneurysm surgery scheduled, and get him back on the mend. Its scarry with his aneurysm now the size it can burst.. so will be glad when thats fixed.

So we celebrated our 48 anniversary meeting with the doctor and nurse practitioner. Ha.. thats our outings.. doctors visits!

So… I know for myself, I need to get into shape. I say this so many times.. why does emotional eating always happen. So .. I need to pretend that my AIC is like 9 or 10. Maybe that will get me to get serious. SO that is what I am going to do. Who knows.. it probably could be that high! Our physicals are the middle of May.. so why not act as if I have to lose this weight.. which I do. I know the extra weight is not good.. but why is it so hard to get it off!

    1. today I will log all my food intake. I will concentrate on high protein, lower carbs, and no sugar
    2. today I will not snack at evening. I will drink glasses of water. Most of the time I think I am just thirsty.. since I tend to crave ice cream and cold stuff. It is not hunger.. it is thirst
    3. today I will go for a walk. Since hubby has his stress test I did not get to the gym
    4. today I will think positive thoughts. Everything will be OK. This type of surgery is done so many times with great success.
    5. today I will get out my book on Beck Diet Solution… and read it. And read the book "The Shift".. to help with my mindset. Food is for nourishment.. not to help with boredom, stress, anxiety… sadness, etc. If I'm not hungry.. don't eat.
    6. Today I will learn hunger signals. Ha… do I even remember what it feels like to feel hungry!
    7. today I will spend time with hubby.. and enjoy every day.

And.. I'm like you guys. I can't get used to this new formatting, and trying to figure out how to format like I used to. But.. thats no excuse, is it!!

BUt… I've missed getting on here.. and hope you are all doing OK!

Tried retail therapy bought Halara workout pants and a HoneyLove bra. Been reading about them for months, guess I’ll find out if they are as good as the reviews. I was trying to curtail snacking, but finally gave in. I did settle for popcorn and stayed mostly within calories, but I wasn’t eating because I was hungry. I was eating out of boredom and a little sadness. Not the best way to handle things, but I did skip the alcohol. Hubby went to the bar to watch hockey. I opted to stay home because Monday is a planned dry day.

@mytime6630 - when I read last night I had 268 posts. It was my reading when I couldn’t sleep from 2am to around 5am this morning. Of course, you know I was sleeping soundly when the alarm went off at 715.

Happy Anniversary, the doctors visits make it so you get one next year too so I think it’s a good date.

@pridesabtch - I wanted to comment on how you’re feeling and the weight gain. You should try to find the Oprah special that was on a few weeks ago called The Menopause Revolution. I watched it twice. Quite interesting.

@PackerFaninGB - I don’t know why that isn’t working to highlight your name. I’m happy to see you posting.

@Bex953172 - Hugs to you and Ash.

I’m going to post goals for tomorrow, I’m too tired to try to log today.

Was really out of sorts yesterday. Not sure why, but I was just down. Hit most goals, and if I hadn't made goals, the day would have been much different. I probably would have gone out to dinner, had drinks with hubby and friends and gone over calories. I've been a little down about my weight, which is silly. It's been going up the past week, but that is mostly because I was sick the week before and dropped >2lb in 2 days. Partially because I indulged a little on Easter. Logical me knows this, psycho Nikki just sees the bump on the scale and feels defeated.

@pridesabtch as women we put too much focus on seeing those numbers . I have been on the struggle bus or hamster wheel is what I refer to it as with my scale for a couple months. I totally understand the feeling of being defeated. I have to you tell you though, I am so impressed with your progress in a month's time . You should be very proud of yourself. This is not easy. Hormones play a huge huge role in all of it for us. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. And, try to find those NSV's (as much as they really aren't as gratifying for me) I keep wearing my too big for me pants because I like the feeling of pants being too big for me.. for so long, I felt like stuffed sausage in everything I put on..

The knee has made a full recovery. I don't remember if I updated everyone here but I went to the ortho doc, did xrays. He felt like it was a popliteal cyst that broke open or possibly the tendons or the meniscus misplaced because of how I twisted my leg while under a load and pushing off . He did not recommend an MRI (thankfully) and suggested to just watch how I place the knee under load and see how things go.

I always seem to have these weird unexplainable things occur but I am glad its feeling better because I would have been so disappointed and discouraged if I had suddenly been dealing with yet another knee issue requiring surgery.

    JFT

    Water

    Stay within Calorie goal 1700

    Get my protein

Looking forward to the first hike of the season with a friend this evening.

***Also , I decided to do something else for myself. I am joining a gym. Its a small more private type setting. I have 3 one on one sessions with a training coach (who happens to be an adorable young man who is easy on the eyes so win win) to assess where I am at and see where I can improve with my home routine. I have been a little stuck with progress on increasing strength.

He will give me programming and get me lined out so that I can continue to workout at home for the majority of my workouts . I will join one of their small strength training classes 1-2 times a week. I start tomorrow with our first session. I am very much looking forward to it.

Its a little pricey but I am not giving up on my goals in spite of the scale not moving in the direction I want. I am vowing to invest in myself for longevity.

"Strong is not just physical strength. Strong is also heart, mind, and soul"

    "Sweat now, shine later"

    Have a great day everyone

I was on track to meet my alcohol goal, but Modelo was doing an event at the restaurant and they offered me a free one. Instead of my 95 calorie lite beer this was 145cal which took me over. Still showed a loss this morning though so it wasn't too detrimental in the overall picture. Came in at 1470cal for the day. I aim for 1350-1450 so I am over but not by much. Plan is to do better tonight. It's trivia night, but if I eat before I go out that should help.

Had to take mom to the dentist this morning, her teeth were NASTY. Just made it in to work. Going to be a long day.
