@Bex953172 So very sorry for the loss of Ash's mum. Hugs to you!
@pridesabtch Loved the science fire show!
The NFL Draft has ended, and attendance for the 3 days was well over expectations at >600,000. Would've been more without a rainy Friday afternoon. I've never paid attention to the draft in the past (I don't follow college football), but this year I did. It was cool to watch (on TV) of an area I go to or by often on just regular days. Nephew got to watch the entire first round of picks from the wings of the theatre stage as VIP (his boss didn't go & gave him his pass). Sat. a.m. I walked in the draft 5K on the Fox River Trail, then ate post-race refreshments & drank complimentary beer on City Deck along the river. Followed by meandering through a special farmers market (more crafts than anything, this time of year) of local & Wisconsin vendors. I'm looking forward to more normalcy around town soon. Sharing a few pics (no spoiler, sorry, but did try out small & medium sizes & learned to float left LOL). Got to love a football carrying balloon chicken at the market.
JFT 4/27 Sunday ~ Hope "scattered" showers hold off for dog walk.
- Church 9:00 😃 (noticed traffic barrels are starting to be removed)
- Pasta for supper? / limit snacks & EASTER CANDY / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero
- OT exercises / walk dog
- Call Mom / run printer trouble-shooting / wash dishes / update JFT 2025 goals (in Word) / read / digital declutter / other?
WOTY 2025: Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

Good day yesterday. Church, then in-laws, then lunch. Ordered a Caesar Salad with salmon for lunch, which was good, but ate more than one of the delicious rolls. Ate 3 at roughly 200 calories a piece that took a chunk of my calorie budget. Luckily I got a bike ride and a walk in. Also dinner kind of sucked, so my intake was low in the evening. Bike ride was ok, but I'm a little sore today. Walking the dog was good until my left glute started to cramp, lol. I made it home though.
Good day planned today. In to work early to approve time, then a group of us are using our company paid "Day of Giving" to volunteer at Kelly's Closet. It is a non-profit that allows kids who have been displaced from their homes to come shop for new/gently used clothes. Having known a couple of kids who were removed from their home with nothing except the dirty clothes they were wearing, I find this charity to be an excellent choice. I'll take the group of volunteers to lunch or order in, their call. Then we'll work until 3:00 or 4:00 and call it a day.
Plan is to get another ride in today before the weather turns bad. I'm a little sore so it may be a sad ride, lol.

Hey there JFT peeps! Happy Monday! We have some potentially severe weather forecasted for today and tonight, so I guess Spring has finally arrived to Wisconsin. I guess I'm happy it's not a snow storm… he
@cschmitz110515 Love the pictures from the NFL Draft activities. Congrats on the 5k! That sounds fun. Do you know, I've still never been to the City Deck? I live a sheltered life. Ha! Hubby and I aren't very social these days I guess. It was busy in our neighborhood for those 3 days with parking and people walking, security patterns flown over the house all day, fireworks, and on the last day we could hear the Brad Paisley concern out on our deck so that part was kinda cool. I like Brad Paisley.
@Bex953172 Oh Bex, hon. I am so sorry to hear about Ash's mom! That had to be devastating for you guys. How is his dad holding up? He has to be heartbroken. I was rooting for her to rally and get better again. Effin' cancer… I'm not going to lie…it scares me that i am living with a stage 4 diagnosis and this is very possibly my future too. I wish I could give you a big hug…I'm sending you one from here and hope you can feel it, friend.
As far as motivation or determination goes, I agree with @HappyDonkey75 Motivation is hard to keep up. For myself, I have to get up every single morning and come up with my "Why's" to keep trying…of course, now that the cancer returned my #1 why is usually health. But there are so many others and I just look for what are my Why's today? Today they were health, strength to get up off floor myself, flexibility to get in and out of our fishing boat and my son's pool this summer, looser summer clothes around my middle, and I want to be able to wear my wedding ring again. It's been since 2012 since I have been able to wear it, and I'm soooo close right now! Every day, health and strength are at the top of my list, but I also want less knee pain, better defined cheekbones, etc. You get the idea. And what has been helping me keep the weight off that I have lost so far is making small lifestyle changes….I make sure i drink 64 oz of water; I've added more salads and vegs; I try to catch myself when I'm mindlessly grabbing a snack…am I really hungry or am I bored or stressed? I tend to stress eat a lot. When I'm eating dinner, am I still hungry or have I had enough? Am I eating because I'm hungry or does it just taste good and I don't want to throw it away?
I get a lot of stuff from listening to the No BS Women podcast and the Half Sized Me podcast. No BS Women is the old Phit N Phat (PNP)…just renamed it. Both of these have some really good insights.
Sorry for the novel. It was good for me to type that out to remind myself what I need to do and keep in mind I guess.
@pridesabtch Congrats on the weight loss! You're doing great! WOOT WOOT!!! 😎💥

Yesterday was a good day emotionally, and an okay day health wise. Me and 9 of my employees volunteered at a local charity, then went out for lunch. I had pizza for lunch (3 slices) and leftover pizza for dinner (1 slice) and like 3 Rice Krispie treats followed by 2 handfuls of M&M's. Luckily I got an hour bike ride and a 20 minute dog walk in. Ride was only about 350 calories, didn't count walk because it was very low key. Though I was under calories yesterday, I was surprised (pleasantly) that my weight did not go up this morning.
Didn't sleep worth a darn last night. Restless Leg Syndrome was out of control. I slept from 1:30 - 3:00, then from 4:00-5:20 when the pooch woke up. Rocking a stellar headache due to that.
Plan for tonight is to deliver smokes to mom, pick up Merlin from Day Care, and then go to music bingo this evening. Assuming the weather report is correct and it rains. If it doesn't rain, I may try and squeeze in a walk also. Tonight and tomorrow are the 2 nights a week I allow myself to have a few adult beverages, but I now limit it to 300 calories. I can modify my day to account for that. Only downer is that they changed the salad dressing at the restaurant where we play bingo. Now I don't care for their salad. Bummer really.

@PackerFanInGB Glad I don't live closer to the stadium district but would've enjoyed the draft activity going on (I think). I could see the plane banners flying over from City Deck. Everyone was so friendly during the 5K and market, more than usual, I think just the whole atmosphere during the draft. When I drove past NWTC on the weekend, I noticed their parking lots were blocked except one section, and a dozen school buses were lined up. Saw a sign that parking was for NFL draft staff, which we weren't aware of at first.
I didn't log in yesterday because I'd forgotten about a lunch planned months ago with former Internal Audit mgmt team from my "career" job. Food log would've been a guess, then I ate more Easter candy (at least there is much less LOL) & salted peanuts, followed by pasta for supper. I need to get back under control eating wise. But tomorrow, I take out my friend TH for her bday, and not sure what that will entail (her choice, and she's vegetarian). I've not been walking dog lately, with weather & schedule. Plus I'm not doing any meal planning or decent cooking. I will try to get back to "normal" soon.
JFT 4/29 T ~ Strong winds this morning, hope they die down as forecast. Last night, hubby took doggo to basement during thunderstorms & gusty winds that frightened her.
- Supper? / limit snacks & candy / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero
- OT exercises / walk dog (after hubby returns with her from driving SIL to meet her new someone)

A mid day ramble
Woke up to escaped horses. They had quite a time overnight. I am just glad they stuck around and didn't head into the state land nearby only to be maybe never seen again. We are backup to hundreds of acres of forest. Thankfully no one was injured and I am not sure how because one of them went over a 6 foot gate. Its completely bent and trashed. Not sure if something spooked them or what but it was out of character for sure.
One more day left in April
I started April 0.9 lbs away from my 165 goal that I have been chasing for some time now, and then I spiked to 169+. Its been a battle getting back down again. yesterday I was 169, today I am 167.8. And I have done this same thing all month with these big swings.. Its pretty hard to be focused on a goal only to feel like your slipping the wrong way or can't seem to nail down the reasons especially with those kind of ups and downs.
I tend to do better with more cardio mixed in , although all the guru's out there will tell you for women my age we are better to do strength training. I do both but was not doing challenging cardio more than 1x a week. The rest of the time it was 20 minutes or so just to warm up for weights. Yesterday I did a big cardio session and today I am down. Coincidence? probably not because I have seen this before. Sweating= water loss = loss of water weight.. atleast that is my theory.
So this week I have two days in of more strenuous cardio. We will see if it helps me push through this never ending stall (going on 3 months essentially)
Tonight I have my second of 3 private training sessions . We will hit lower body. I am a little nervous about it because my legs are my strong point but I hate the feeling of being sore in the quads and legs. I also don't want to flare up my knee.

@HappyDonkey75 good luck with your trainer. Make sure they know about your knee issues. A good trainer has an arsenal of exercises for any given body part, some of which will be joint friendly. I've worked with many trainers over the year, and even taught strength classes. When I start lifting again I may do a group session just for motivation. They are a little less expensive and still give me encouragement and accountability.
Good luck on busting that plateau. I find that a few good cardio sessions a week keeps me in line both emotionally and physically. I'm in horrible shape right now, but I know the way back. Seeing your posts have been a good guide post, I appreciate you sharing.

Today wasn't really a good day. I overslept and didn't have time to make my lunch. I told myself to get my debit card (I don't carry it with me to curb needless overspending) but I forgot it. I had only $2.20 in my wallet. Thankfully I had some great co-workers who shared a few things with me as I only had an apple and granola bar with me. I didn't run at lunch as I didn't want to burn off calories that I had nothing to refuel with. When I got home from work I had a couple things I wanted to do before going to see my nephew and having ice cream cake. Tomorrow WILL be a better day!

Yesterday was ok. Felt really productive at work, and the early evening was very busy. Got everything done, just a little later than planned in some cases. Weight held steady after a night out. Goal is for the same this evening. Tuesday and Wednesday are my evenings out. I'm not willing to give those up, but I can control my intake. Trying a new challenge thing on MFP stating next month. The Biggest Loser Challenge. I'm not sure if I'll like it. It is a 12 week commitment, which is fine as long as I don't get too caught up in the numbers. It's easy for me to get overly competitive and lose track of my balance.
Today I have a meeting from 9:00 am to 6:00pm. I think I'm going to call into it instead of going in person. If I go in person, I'll have to step out occasionally to take other meetings. Really not excited for this. After work, I was going to meet friends for a drink before trivia, but alas the 9hr meeting will prevent that.
Trivia night goal is max 3 adult drinks or 300 cals of drink, and eat half portion for dinner.

@pridesabtch - thank you. So far the trainer I am working with seems to be smart about form and she stresses injury prevention. I am also inspired by you. You have really made some great progress in a short time. You must be hiding some stellar metabolism ! I have always said I fight genetics with my weight , all my life. Most of my family on my dad's side are HUGE and not into health at all. They are into eating and cooking. I have always had to be careful but in the last few years the hormone thing has made it so much harder. I am on HRT which has helped with many other things, just not the weight loss.

So my late meeting ended early, well the last part got moved to tomorrow. Now I have time to go to the mall and have a drink, raspberry Cosmo, with a girl friend before I go to trivia. I pre-logged my evening including a Cosmo and a couple of beers. I'll still end up a little under. I don't generally drink liquor, now I remember why… the calories are more than double that of my ultra lite beer. No drinks the rest of the week!
