Every year my trainer hosts a Murph competition and donates the entry fee to charity. It's a one mile run or walk, 300 squats, 200 pushups, 100 pullups and another 1 mile, all modified to each individual's abilities. My goal for this month is less about the scale and more about beating my time from last year so I started training for it Tuesday. I have to do modified pushups as I had a mastectomy and have no left chest muscle, and lat pulldowns in place of the pull ups. At 61 I'm not trying to prove anything to anyone, just improve my health. This challenge makes me feel go in many ways.

Happy May everyone, Things are looking pretty springy around here, blooms on the fruit trees as coming through and everything is getting green. We could use more rain to be honest, its been a bit dry.
@ManifestingToday - thank you once again for putting the May group up for us. Hope your doing well and see you come back and join us for check ins!
@tishsmith101- what a great goal and cause to participate in. Sounds really challenging . Would love to follow along as you condition for it.

Session last night with trainer was more legs, I nearly died.. We did a little upper body but mostly targeted the front of my legs since we worked glutes and hammy's the day before. Learned a couple of things that I can transfer to home routines that will help better target certain muscles. Now I have to figure out which program I am signing up for.

My goal for 165 has been the same for three months.. still haven't made it. I am now convinced me and that number were just not meant to be , so I am changing it to 160. Who knows if its doable but I am tired of 165 ..

Hooray for May! I am starting the month two lbs higher than the day before but that is expected. I was at a gala dinner for my charity until midnight last night, with the swollen legs and to show for it. It will settle.
This month like many of you Iβm focused on physical activity at least fifteen minutes every day. It doesnβt sound like much but there will be lots of days of 1.5 hours biking. The 15 minutes is a commitment for those days when I reeeeeally donβt feel like it but have to push myself because something is better than nothing.

5/1- 167.0-no workout, DOMS hit hard ! very body sore by afternoon
5/2- 168.4The two days of strength training hit me yesterday afternoon and I intended to get on the treadmill but that didn't happen as work was too busy. I only managed a 20 minute walk with the dog mid day. So the uptick is hopefully related to muscles holding onto water.
The trainer is pushing me pretty hard to commit to one of her programs . I was going to take the weekend and think it over . I told her I was leaning toward her 8 session package and then she came back and pushed me towards a 6 month commitment that included the nutrition/macros package, costing me over $800 but "with more savings" long term for the value. I hate it when people try to upsell me. I will likely be sending her a message today telling her I am going a different direction. I hope she won't push back too hard. I get she is trying to build her business but I just can't justify that kind of investment. I like my home gym and will probably just take that extra money and invest in more equipment and utilize the program offered through work (at a deep discount) I guess its not accountability that I am looking for. (and trainers seem to like to use that word ) I was really just looking for a bit of guidance on how to lift in a way to focus on better toning. But after working with her , she said my form was really good.
Sorry for the ramble. If anyone has any feedback on how to nicely let this girl down without encouraging more conversation, I am all ears.
