Morning all... Or afternoon even!
Got in 5.5M at 10'12
New shoes! Sticking with tried+tested Asics Gel Kayanos.
Trying out a knee sleeve too. Got a Bauerfeind Genutrain. Precautionary.
Been having non-running related knee pain of late. Mother's next door neighbour (physiotherapist)recommended it. Could be a cartilage thing or something Hoffman's impingement (??).
Hurts from squatting positions or getting up suddenly from a seated position. My wife thinks I spend too long sitting on the toilet watching reels and YouTube shorts 🤦🏽

@tarun_yadavA your knee pain sounds a lot like mine. For me it started after driving home 4 hours from Houston back in December. When stepped out of the car my knee just gave out. Hasn't been the same since. Your wife may be on to something 😉

I hope the insurance covers your scan @kgirlhart . Glad you got your run in before the storms hit.
Thanks @chris_in_cal .
Hahaha! Thanks for the porn @tarun_yadavA . I hope the knee brace helps and that doesn't become an issue. Great run again.

oh pretty shoes… I hate knee braces tho. I don't know how people wear them. They bother me more than the injury whenever I have tried them.
OK cold is progressing like a cold. Difficult to sleep lying down because well sinus she explode …🙃😳
GOing to keep my streak I think those as it was SUCH a gorgeous cool morning after the storms yesterday that I felt much better outside than in.

Went for a test run (run/walk intervals) outside this morning. Trying not to overdo it coming an injury like I seem to always do. Only 2 miles, but felt good to be outside again 😁

Hello Everyone! I missed this group in April, but I’m back for May. My goal is 50 miles this month. Thus far I have 7.6 miles with me knocking out another 5K this morning at this year’s Mini Marathon in Indianapolis. I always run this race because it’s near my birthday. So, I call it my birthday race. Next year, I’m going to come out of retirement for the Mini (I’ve ran the Mini on multiple occasions) and will do the Half because it will be the 60th Anniversary. God willing of course. 😉

02 May: 1.60 miles

New here. I have decided to train for my first marathon in February of 2026! So I need to start adding more miles monthly. April I only ran 27.2 miles. So my May goal will be 40 miles.
37.9/40 miles
May 1st Run 2.1 Walk 2.7
May 2nd Run 0 Walk 3.6
Question? How do I update this tomorrow? Do I create a new post?

01/05 2.86 miles
02/05 2.86 miles
03/05 2.87 milesTotal 8.59 / 60 miles
I want to go for 70 miles but for now I’m aiming for 60 miles running plus 180 miles on bike and daily yoga. I don’t know how this month is going to go so I’m not going to add stress for not reaching my goal into everything. I’m hoping we will have answers about my son’s health by the end of the month and that it’s a simple fix.@tarun_yadavA Wife’s are very wise 😅

Hi everyone!
my goal for May is 270km. I’m hoping to up my mileage again this month and also want to get back to strength training regularly.
Because of my HM tomorrow, I went on an easy 3.5km run today. Yesterday was a rest day and on the first I ran 5.1km. That brings me to 8.6km/270km.
Fingers crossed I can PR tomorrow!!! The course is not super easy, so we’ll see!

May goal - 100km
May 3 -4km
Without being at home, and having breakfast at a scheduled time, I was limited to what I could do. it was so nice! I saw SIX deer! The road had just been graded and was a little muddy from the rain, but it was fine if I stayed more towards the middle of the road. One of the deer just stopped and watched me coming before running into the woods

@karina3 Welcome! Most keep a running total for the month and/or year at the top with varying amts of detail to follow.
@steviebee888 Welcome back and kudos on the race! An anniversary race sounds like a good year to target.

May total: 10/100 miles
YTD: 340.1 miles
5/3: 10 miles
Sticking with a 100 mile goal this month. I barely missed it last month but had a slow start due to flu recovery. If I hadn't gotten sick, I would have made it so it seems like a good goal. Work has been very stressful and I just haven't been able to get myself out the door in the evenings. I have gone for walks with my husband and I figured that's better than nothing.
We had storms last night so it was unexpectedly cooler this morning, mid 60's!! Such a treat for May! I went out to the Greenway trail and was a little surprised at how few people were out. Overall had a really nice run. I have a HM in South Dakota in 2 weeks and I'm feeling ready for it. My goal is to finish faster than my SC race, which was the first one I used run/walk intervals. Just slowly chip away at the pace and see how far run/walk can take me.

Welcome @karina3
Typically on MFP in the "Challenges" category of the forums we have one post for the whole month. (This is the May post)
Log into MFP, go to the community forums, then look in the Challenges area, then scroll down to this Monthly Running Challenge thread. We keep it going for the month. Put your goals for the month, at the end of the month you report how you did.
I hope to see you around.

I hope you start feeling better quickly @SummerSkier !
@Scott6255 I'm glad that you got to get outside to run. I hope the knee continues to behave.
Glad to have you back @steviebee888 . Happy Birthday.
Doing great @daria0919 .
Welcome @karina3 . To update, I copy and paste my last post to a new one and then add the next workout. Repeat the next day. (So, yes. A new post.)
You are doing great so far @Mari33a . I hope your son gets a proper diagnosis and it's an easy fix too.
@Laurz9191 You have put in the training! Have a super day and look forward to hearing about your PR!
Looks like a nice run @angf0679 . Cool about the deer.
@martaindale I love that you and your hubby go for evening walks together! Good luck on your HM in a couple of weeks.

I overcame my mental and physical tiredness and did a wun on the treadmill this morning. I did a run/walk of 2/1 and 1/1 min at 4.5 - 6.2/4.0 mph and ended with 7 mph (for the last tenth or so). It wasn't too bad. Avg pace was 12:36 min/mile. Avg HR was 124 with a max of 152 bpm.

Sunday long run today. Did just under 17k with a local run club. Perfect running conditions - cool, clear, and still. A real stunner of a day. The pace was a bit quicker than I’d like (especially on the hills, and there were a lot of those) but running with the group meant I got the distance I needed. If I was by myself I’d have probably pulled the pin at 12k.

Good luck tomorrow @Laurz9191 !
