Cool cool cool 😎 - of course I’m clear on the concept of “one at a time”! From a health standpoint, it’s more important to spay those females, so keep that in mind.
Today I was fortunate to get a 75-min lunch break, but I utilized that time to go home & get my trailer unstuck. Fortunately a tow truck was not required! Now it’s time to get back to “normal programming” as I finish cleaning, re-packing & loading for next weekend’s ride (which should be considerably warmer)
Hope your ear infection resolves quickly! I know those are miserable…

I really had no idea how painful ear infections can be. I haven’t had one since I was a little girl of 3 or 4. The pain is something I was not expecting for an ear infection. I feel so much more for babies with ear infections now. Fudge they hurt.
Today is the first day I haven’t had a twinge of pain since yesterday in my ear. I’m hoping the medicine is starting to work.I hope Davey decides to get Xena fixed so we will have no more worries. The male is a bichon frise of 8 yrs old. He will live another 8 to 10 yrs. While Davey is here I’m going to try to convince him to have her spayed.
Last nights sleep was good. More than 6 hrs and over an hour of deep sleep. I did seem to have to pee more than usual during the night so I had 4 awake spikesVal, I hope you have a warm sunny uneventful weekend for your ride. Good luck.

Thanks! So far so good - looking like a favorable weather forecast with mild sunny spring weather…
Taking a brief coffee break with my little dogs before I get back to my errands & repacking. My hands are stiff & sore this morning** which I believe I can blame on the beer I drank last night? I took my crew out for a celebratory dinner to toast Bertha’s new home.
** not just my hands, geez! There was much moaning & groaning when I dragged myself to my yoga mat to stretch out a little bit this morning. Didn’t sleep well, which there again I can probably blame the alcohol & the fact that hubby started a load of laundry at 6:15 this morning?!?

While I think I’ve got everything ready to go this morning, there’s always this anxious, unsettled feeling - I’m afraid I’m gonna drive and forget something important!
But there’s a tack vendor at this ride (which will be a welcome diversion, they don’t come to very many of our TX rides) as well as Walmarts and truck stops along the way - maybe I’ll buy Twoie a nice purple headstall to match Scarlett’s breastcollar! Poor thing, he’s like the neglected stepchild in all this mismatched tack…
Very sorry to dislodge my lil’ dogs, but gotta get moving! Making a big loop to pick up Tony & then stopping by the clinic since there’s a couple of patients I need to see before we hit the road (fingers crossed that we get on the highway by noonish)

Well my weekend was uneventful. I’ve been 50/50 on food. Usually a bad start to my meals then I seem to be good for supper. Sleep wise I’m been a little of both. Some nights good sleep and some nights not so great. My son has asked me to take his dad, my ex to his Dr’s appointment tomorrow and Thursday. Tomorrow is general practitioner and Thursday is eye doctor.

Sheesh! I guess if he has no one else? but that’s awfully nice of you…
We had a beautiful weekend at Mount Pleasant, but Twoie banged his leg in the trailer & was lame so I had to ride Silas while Catie’s dad brought one of their other horses (who did fine, BTW, even though they were worried about her ability to ride longer distances). I’m “starting out tired” this morning bcz that was a moderate amount of driving, not to mention it’s always stressful to have to skirt Dallas traffic with the big horse trailer! After the ride on Saturday, I drove 40 miles further to the NE to visit my cousins - had dinner with them** & spent the night which was very nice…
I was amazed to see 188.6 on the scales this morning - let’s see if I can keep it below that 190 mark & keep on edging downwards now! ** Dee made homemade lasagne which was great; that’s why I’m pleasantly surprised! But we had a big green leafy salad with homegrown veggies from Margie’s garden - Dee relayed that my cousin Joe gripes about her homemade basalmic vinegar dressing - “he can’t SEE it!” - Joe prefers ranch dressing which is a sacrilege in her book! 😂🤣
Saturday night - felt well-rested

Zach took the GMAT yesterday as he wants to go for his MBA… I am amazed that they get their scores immediately but this lead to disappointment on Z’s part as he “merely” scored 615 when he was hoping for a score in the 700 tier which would qualify him for a scholarship.
Sleep was marginal - I didn’t help myself at all by eating cheap tacos last night & giving myself indigestion. Going back to South Bend mañana to wrangle my cousin’s kitty cats, since she has decided to return to California. An expensive life lesson for her, but I have no room for criticism - like Augustus McCrae, I try to face my mistakes on a daily basis so it doesn’t hurt too badly 😊😉

My sleep has sucked. Last 3 nights have been very short deep sleeps. I’m not sure what is going on

Last night
Food has been so so. My mornings have been for chocolate where supper is proper. Yesterday weight was down 2 to 223

My sleep REALLY sucked Thurs night, since the movers showed up late and didn’t finish until 1:30 AM!!! Didn’t do too badly last night, however, even though my cousin declined to share the king-sized bed with me and made herself a pallet on the floor!?!
While I’m hoping my weight will nudge downwards after all this weekend’s hard work + hiking around, I’m not counting on anything with the weird way my body reacts to sleep deprivation & stress. My cousin has lost an alarming amount of weight with the stress & aggravation she’s been under - I’ve been joking that she needs extra chocolate to fatten herself up!Sightseeing on the Stanford Univ campus

Sure ‘nuff, weight holding steady at 190 lbs even this morning (Easter Monday) - yes, we had some chocolate, also 2 of the airline’s fruit & cheese plates during the course of our two big-hop flights (from Chicago to San Fran, & then yesterday coming from San Fran home to Dallas)
Gotta finish my coffee and get ready for my work day - more later!

Wow you were busy over the weekend.
my son and his dog moved out yesterday after a 2 week stay. Hopefully his female dog still in heat will not let mail at her.
I had an uneventful holiday little more packing done not a lot of sleep. Last night sleep I felt was good as longer than all week for together. It blows my mind is the five minutes five minutes of deep sleep out of the entire night. My food still has to get better. Hopefully with nobody here, I can get back on track before my birthday.

I can’t believe I just navigated away from this page in a moment of ignorance & lost a big long post!!! I will try to duplicate it later; picking up my equipment for a home sleep study tonight!

Wow. A home sleep study. I would love one of those.
I spent most of yesterday and last night without my Fitbit. I put it up for charging and forgot. Food has been ok
edit to add. My Fitbit isn’t on the charger so I must’ve put it on and now I have lost it. It probably fell off somewhere. I hope to hell I find it.0 -
No luck finding my Fitbit yet. All the ‘find my Fitbit’ apps have been no help and one suggested to use I had to disconnect from the device so now I’m screwed.

I found my fitbit. I’ve been sitting on it. I don’t know how it got in the chair under my *kitten*, that’s where I found it actually more the crevice of the chair, but not all the way between the cushions. Now I have to set up my app to my Fitbit.

Ha ha! Well I’m glad you found it - I need to fix the strap holder on mine or it’s probably going to be lost also…
Just had my telemedicine consult with the sleep center doctor - she says I have mild sleep apnea (stopped breathing 10 times per hour)** so she is recommending I come in for the full evaluation where I try to sleep at the center all wired up with a CPAP. Ugh, that sounds absolutely charming - great for my mild claustrophobia!
But actually my FitBit thinks I didn’t sleep too badly on the night of my study - almost 2 hrs of deep sleep?!? (I doubt that figure, I think I was just holding myself very very still to avoid dislodging the tubing!) - but I felt terrible when I got up, very groggy!
I’ll have to post more later about my Ethical Dilemma of the Week…

Your sleep study sounds fascinating. I didn’t sleep well last night. It took until 3:30 to fall asleep. I had the A/C and a fan on last night. It’s spring here and it got to almost 80 here yesterday. That doesn’t happen often where we get 80s before May. It’s not supposed to be that hot again for a while.

I need to type out my blog post to organize my thoughts - I found out the husband of a former friend of mine died this week… I seriously considered driving to the funeral which is almost 6 hours away, but in the end I did not. We had a falling out almost 10 yrs ago because this man was passing information (I considered his wife to be one of my closest friends at the time) to my ex-husband when Zach was having his “teenage experimentation/self-medication” phase - they told me I was too permissive & I would wind up “ruining him”… so while I’m sorry for her loss (kind of! - my honest opinion is she’s better off without him; I thought from the very beginning he was trying to isolate her from friends & family) - there again it was her life to lead! but I wound up just sending a plant & a sympathy card.
So I’m gonna lead my life by lounging around with my coffee this morning, & then getting a few things done…
I didn’t finish my earlier asterisk’d post - I ask about the delineations for sleep apnea; she told me less than five times per hour is normal, 5-15 is mild sleep apnea, 15-30 is moderate, more than 30 is severe! But they still advised me to come in for the real deal - trying to sleep in their facility will be really entertaining & I doubt I will get much rest… But I went ahead and scheduled for 5/14.

Oh wow. That sounds interesting. I wonder if sleep study could tell me why I have insomnia. Sorry to hear about your friend’s husband passing. But from the sounds of it I’m glad you didn’t go. Hopefully she will be better now if what you thought was true
Last nights sleep was good.
I have also been somewhat better food wise. Then I’ll have an off day or two. So I figure good 5 out 7 is better than none at all.

My diet has been marginal; nothing to be especially proud of except that I’m able to do my morning fasting interval without much difficulty (trying to stick to a 16:8 routine)
Meanwhile, my sleep quality is getting progressively worse & worse… I want ahead & signed up to do the full-scale study at the sleep lab in two weeks; maybe I’ll be so tired by then that I will actually sleep for them a bit?!? I know I was anxious last night because Z & V were returning from their little vacation: they got in after midnight - I was wondering if Z would drag on into work this morning, but apparently he did not! Wish I were sleeping in - I finally got some REM sleep around 5 AM, ugh!
But warm lil’ lap dogs make “slowly gearing up for my day” more bearable 🥰❤️💕

Wow. I’m sorry to hear your sleep has been suffering. I know the feeling. Last nights sleep for me was good.
Oddly enough I feel like I slept well too. That hardly happens. Food has been here and there. But more here than there. Just not all here yet.

Pleasantly surprised to see the scales at 189.4 this morning - my diet has been so-so! Last night I finished up w/a scoop of elote & a handful of tortilla chips; I honestly don’t recall what I had for my main meal? I was driving back-and-forth across town, picking up snacks along the way…
I had to reclaim 2 reptiles from my friend Donna. I was seriously alarmed at her haggard appearance; she has not been doing well mentally or physically & needs to lighten her workload. So I picked up Bonnie the tegu & Buttercup the ball python - we’ll figure out when I’m going to get Barry the dwarf retic after she feeds him, when he will be easier to handle!
I’m going to pass Bonnie along to a client who is excited to foster her, because I just don’t have the space! Many folks make the mistake of getting these animals who are going to grow quite large & need large habitats, and they wind up in a bad space. A tegu really needs an enclosure the size of a small bedroom all to itself, and I already gave Claude the beaded lizard the big iguana cage! That 6-foot iguana cage was cramped for Bonnie, but I tried to let her out to walk around the house whenever I could. She had lost quite a bit of weight** at Donna‘s because Donna said she didn’t eat consistently? I’m sure this was a temperature/humidity problem because she always ate voraciously for me - she ate 2 tins of dog food right after I got her home & soaked her in the bathtub!
I’m not looking forward to judging the competitive trail ride this weekend (giving up my weekend in essence), but a girl’s gotta do what a girl promised to do! Brownie points & all that - Tony’s going with me to check out the vibes.
** of course when I gave her to Donna she was pretty plump, so it didn’t necessarily harm her to lose a little bit of weight 😳

Wow!!!! Just wow!!!!! I have never seen or heard of this type of lizard. It’s too bad that your friend is having such difficulties right now. We are supposed to have rain all weekend. It’s been hard for Turkey hunting. It’s the spring hunt here. I have plenty on my property when they are here. I haven’t slept at all yet. I tried but sleep did not come. The 47 min Fitbit says I was asleep I was actually just still in bed.

Finishing the last of my coffee so I can start getting dressed for work - I was shocked that they did not have a coffee pot in the cookshack this weekend at horse camp; thank goodness I had my espresso powder & could boil some water!
For some reason my first screenshot was not saved? I wanted to show the contrast between how well I slept in horse camp, versus last night which was restless again… Tina Fea is getting the hang of this camping routine & thankfully did not wet the bed! My weight hanging at 190.4 which I know is partly inflammation since I hiked 3.7 miles on Saturday & 3.5 miles on Sunday. Ate a few chips & cookies in horse camp “because they were there” so I’m looking forward for the “whoosh”** when my muscle soreness subsides (I’m feeling it in my shins, calves, hammies & glutes)
** my friend Jonni has gone low-carb - she was excitingly talking about how she lost 8 pounds in the first week which as we all know is mostly fluid retention

No coffee maker! I’ll guess you will know for next time to bring something with you. I’m glad you had the espresso powder.
I have not slept well for a week. I’m also having issues with my thyroid. I think. I’m having moments especially sleeping when I sweat so much and then I’m freezing. It’s like my body can’t regulate its temperature. I’m going tomorrow for my first thing in the morning and I have an appointment for 30 May to see the doctor. I’m hoping it is my thyroid and nothing and she can regulate the prescription accordingly. My food‘s been I’m hoping if my thyroid gets under control it’ll improve my weight as well.0 -
Yep, thyroid issues are miserable - while all my numbers have looked good in last set of blood tests (in January), I will hit a low spot in the late afternoon/early evening with low energy & feeling chilled… Last night I could not get warm!
Finally piled into bed with my little dogs & a doubled-up blanket and I actually didn’t do too badly, sleep-wise. Did a brief stretch on my yoga mat & my hamstrings were trying to cramp up - still pretty damn stiff & sore from all my hiking around last weekend.
& there goes my washing machine, signaling my last load of laundry - I need to move it to the dryer & get on with my day!
