Happy New Year’s Eve. So normally on the 1st people start their new resolutions. I’m starting mine on Sunday instead. Mostly because I’m more motivated by the days of the week than the date. Since the 1st is in the middle of the week and still eating holiday foods that are around I thought Sunday Jan. 5th was a better start day. Although I may wake tomorrow and be motivated to stay on track.

Not much is happening here. My Son’s dog Mocha had her pups yesterday at 4 am. My son and ex were not happy with the timing. LOL. she had 8, 7 lived but they are no bigger than a minute so they are going to be small dogs.

If possible I would like to ask what could be the results of temperament of these pups when they were sired by the Mother’s sire? So the male dog father Mocha’s mother, Mocha and Mocha’s pups. My ex refuses to get his male fixed which would help all of the females.

My son said that after Mocha is done weening her pups he will get her fixed.

    January 1st. 2025

    WEIGHT 226.

    New Year New Commitment
My official start date is Sunday but I do like to keep track of my weight at the beginning of each year. My weight on Jan 1st 2024 was 234. I’m starting this one 8 lbs less. Since I was able to keep that much weight off total for the year I’m proud of myself.

I’m going to keep my plan simple. Eat as compatible to the O blood type as possible. Start some exercise on a more regular basis. On that note I start physiotherapy on my left shoulder in January on the 6th. This will be very helpful.

My sleep didn’t come to me as soon as I like but I did get a solid sleep. auc2mulw3nnj.jpeg

So let me get this straight, Mocha got bred by her father? I’ve seen many such cases over the years where people, for God knows whatever reason, don’t think animals will commit incest… There are increased risk of birth defects but other than that, it’s icky but harmless! And I’ve spayed many a pregnant female - no ethical dilemma for me! FEWER UNWANTED PUPPIES, that’s my goal!
I also don’t know why so many human males seem to have an unhealthy attachment to their dogs’ testicles, but go figure. It’s not just a question of birth control but their long-term health - I have offered many times to put them in a jar so the guy can hang onto them if that makes him feel better.

So my 2025 ain’t off to the best start - I woke up shortly before 7 AM with a splitting headache**, even though I didn’t drink a drop last night. I made cornbread & black-eyed peas with ham so my weight was sitting at 192 even this morning. Maybe I can blame the nitrites in the cured meat??
** Took some ibuprofen & laid back down for an hour and a half
I am committing to Carnivore January: I’ve got half a leftover steak which I’m gonna slice up and eat with some eggs (this was the air fryer steak that turned out a little bit tough, so the egg yolks should make it more palatable)
I’ve been following a lady on Twittard who has cured her health issues with a carnivore diet; she has written a book which I will certainly buy! “10 steps farther” is advice I can take to heart…

My son Davey knew it would happen because it did when before. The thing is he did not know Mocha was in heat so they weren’t keeping separate. He only figured it out about 2 weeks ago, before the puppies were due. I saw Davey today and he said they lost a pup so he is down to 6. Mostly males too, he thinks.

I’m sorry you woke with such a headache today. Could be a change in weather is coming. That is usually the cause of my headaches that wake me.

I’m mostly carnivore in my plan except that I only eat food that is good for O blood type. I don’t have the patience to cook veggies. That is why I eat a lot of beef and chicken and eggs.

I think my recent headaches are from the old moldy wood that Hubby has been burning in our stove… This morning, a slight headache, nowhere near as bad as New Year’s Day. That’s good bcz “friend of a friend’s” old mare is down, sounds like I’m going to have to go help lay her to rest (poor old thing is 32)
A few more minutes to slurp down my coffee & enjoy my warm lapfull of little dogs…

    Jan. 1st. Meals and sleep

Meals were good. I did have a couple of drinks. My choice right now is Tia Maria and almond milk. My almond milk is not unsweetened like usual but it’s all the store had. mqnamu7a4e70.jpeg
Sleep was good. It took me longer than expected to fall asleep. Lights were out at 11:30 pm. The over 2 hrs of deep sleep is what made it so restful. I also managed to get a full 8 hrs too. 3hs6yawm046u.jpeg
My poor Shamie has an ear infection. It’s not in the usual ear so I don’t catch on until NYE. We see the vet tomorrow. In the mean time to give him a little relief I’m using some of the meds the vet sent home for Xena. Not the antibiotic for her ears but the follow up or maintenance meds.m1twa3gnyvmd.jpeg Shamie Davey Chewie. My dogs and son.

Great photo!!! This morning is overcast but thankfully the Arctic blast won’t come through until Monday… So I’m planning a short ride w/my padawan Tony, a young man who used to ride w/me several years ago, he’s decided he’d like to hit the trails again…
It’s always nice when your little chickadees come back “home”!
I’m really foggy-headed this morning, guess I slept too hard - but Thurs night wasn’t bad either:

    Jan. 3rd. Meals & Sleep

Well meals were ok yesterday. It was a busy day too. I went to get my son’s GF and son to sit with Chewie while I took Shamie to the vet. Shamie has 2 ear infection and a skin bacterial infection. I was at the vet on Monday with my son’s dog Xena that had the same thing plus fleas. By the time I got home and took everyone home the dogs tore apart a bag of dog food. They have never done this but ever since Chewie tore a box apart and found chocolate to eat in it nothing is safe from there nose. Everything will have to come into the house and nothing can be left on the porch. It’s a good thing Chewie can’t open the fridge.0zx9fibxh2fh.jpeg. Sleep came slowly but I got a good rest. I wish I could get the deep sleep over 2 hrs like the other dayj8u87su50ebs.jpeg

Some how I have managed to get 7 days of exercise in. I did this without even trying. Most of the exercise has to have been from rocking. mvsu0ch75eqe.jpeg

So, Chewie lives up to his name?? My sweet Willow lost her first two happy homes by being a destructive chewer. Thankfully by the time I got her, she was about 8 mos old, had probably outgrown the worst of it, and had lots of buddies around here to preoccupy her & help keep her out of trouble! Now she’s the perfect lil’ couch potato… we make jokes about getting the WD-40 bcz she whines when she needs to go out - “Honey, get the WD-40; Willow is squeaking!”
No comment on my meals which haven’t been too great, nor my exercise as I haven’t done very much as I’m still fighting off this cough. Hopefully I’ll get another chance to ride mañana before the cold snap descends upon us…
