Awesome run @Laurz9191, sounds like you smashed it.
No run today, Pilates instead but boy, that was a dumb idea on my exhausted legs! I survived but only just.
I then we home and scarified my lawn - it took about 2.5 hours and boy was I sweating - the machine was very heavy and my lawn is massive. Also planted five trees in the time it took for my husband to go and swap the scarifier out after the first one broke - happens every time I hire gear.
Tomorrow I’ll rake up all the dead thatch the machine spat out, then mow, fill a few holes (thanks rabbits), fertilise, and over sow, and then my lawn should be on its way to croquet perfection for next summer (all fingers and toes tightly crossed).
I’m supposed to run tomorrow but I’ll see how I feel. I’m only due to do 5k so that should be doable…

Fantastic race @Laurz9191!
@quilteryoyo College Station in December was what I was pushing for, but that was pre-knee injury. I highly doubt I will be running that (or any) marathon.

Morning all
Got in 8.08M at 10'16

Great run and way to listen to your body (and Garmin 😉) @John772016 . Very nice that you got a surprise birthday celebration too. (But it was brunch @tarun_yadavA . 😬) Love your little buddy.
Glad you had such a great run yesterday @kgirlhart . Thanks for the info too. You could use the HM as a training run. 😉
Wow! That's a lot of yard work @ContraryMaryMary ! Do you play a lot of croquet?
@Scott6255 I hope your knee surprises you get back to being able to run long distances again. BTW, how is your brother doing?
Great longer run today @tarun_yadavA .
We're having blackberry winter this week. Highs in the low 60's (15.2C) and lows in the 40's (4.4C).

Good morning everyone, its Monday! 😕, oh wow, I had 44 posts to catch up on, I liked as many as I could.
On the weekend I finally got in an actual 8k 299m trail run on saturday and a rather slow 10k on sunday but its back to back! I'll take it! 30km of 175km so far.
Have to love trail run leg shadows 🤣
Still have ice in the shadows
Still a few weeks away from being to tackle mountain trails, access roads open in 2 weeks but dem snow is still there and avalanche hazards with it

03 May: 1.60 miles
05 May: 1.80 miles
May total to date: 5.00 miles7 -
December 14, 2025 in College Station, TX. (Between Austin and Houston)
Registration hasn't opened yet:
the web page says they open in Mid-May.I think getting a rock solid commitment from our Texas cohort is precursor to me getting worked up and planning the race. @Scott6255 @martaindale @kgirlhart @SummerSkier Ya'll going to lead the charge on this? Other Texans I've missed?
Last year they had 4-person and 8-person marathon relay teams. Our injured runners could do 3.2 miles as part of relay.

May Goal: 140 miles
5/1: 7.15 miles
5/2: 6.25 miles
5/4: 13.21 miles
5/5: 5.20 miles31.81/140 miles completed for May
I managed to get 5 miles in this morning before the thunderstorms rolled through. It was just starting to sprinkle a little as I was getting home and I heard some thunder in the distance, but didn't see any lightning until I was opening the back gate. The extra .2 miles was because I had to loop around the block because I have a neighbor who is leaving their little dog out and he chases me. I don't think he'll hurt me, but you never know with those little dogs.
@quilteryoyo I have thought about using the November HM as a training run, but I am going to have to wait before I make any decision. @chris_in_cal I can't make a commitment to the race at this time. College Station is over 4 hours from here so I would have to stay at least one night, probably two. If I am working, I don't know if I will have any PTO, and if I am not working, I probably couldn't justify the expense especially right before Christmas. That race is definitely on my bucket list though. I went to A&M and I would love to run through the campus, but I doubt I will get to do it this year.

Hi everyone, hope it's not too late for me to join this challenge. I'm just getting back into running after not doing it for a while.
May goal: 50 Miles

I got in 5 miles with a friend this morning. It was cool at 48F (Blackberry Winter as @quilteryoyo mentioned) and uneventful.
@AlphaHowls – I saw just a few honeysuckle blooms on Friday morning. They are one of my favorite smells also.
Welcome @karina3 and @clementine003!
Great job on your HM @Laurz9191 and how sweet of your friends and your family to show up for you!
What a gorgeous place to run @ContraryMaryMary! Be careful with your back doing all that lawn work!
Happy Birthday celebration day @John772016 (beautiful pup) and happy birthday to you @steviebee888!
6 -
Thanks @quilteryoyo, think I missed the history here?, but I'm flexible, I can call it "late lunch with lots of wine" if that works better (& @tarun_yadavA)😁
It looks beautiful (from a distance) though & great weekend runs @WarmJellyfish.
Welcome @clementine003!
Thanks @Teresa502.
May:

02/05 - 11.31km / 7.03 miles
03/05 - 0km

Total = 22.98km / 14.28 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)Had planned a 5K run today, but the just blah weather, with raw wind gusts, convinced me it was a good day to knock off some km's on my biking goal (that I'm still way behind on).

Nice running @WarmJellyfish and beautiful pictures….well, not the foot/leg. 🤣
You're doing great @daria0919 .
Thanks for your response @chris_in_cal .
Nice run @kgirlhart . I don't blame you for going around the block…those little dogs are the worst. Understand about the race too. I hope you get a new lovely job soon.
It's never too late @clementine003 . Welcome.
Way to get the exercise in despite the weather @John772016 . @tarun_yadavA will have to explain to you his dislike for that particular meal. 😂 (As I seem to have forgotten the intimate details, but it's a running joke. LOL)

I played tennis with a friend this morning, until we got rained out. We weren't real sad, because our hands were freezing. We had dressed appropriately, but you can't wear gloves to play tennis…at least I don't think you can. Never tried.
After I got home, I talked myself into doing a longer treadmill run. Well, talked myself into running at least a mile and it turned into a bit of a longer run that I've done lately. It didn't feel too bad. I did a run/walk of 2/1 and 3/1 min with paces ranging from 4.6-7.0 mph/4.0 mph walk. Avg pace was 12:09 min/mile. I had hoped it would be under 12. Maybe next time. Avg HR was 132 with a max of 155 bpm.
I did swing by the daycare center to partake of the "teacher appreciation" week goodies they had today. It was breakfast stuff, so I had leftovers for lunch - a couple different quiches, sausage, banana bread, and some sort of pasty with blueberries that was really good. I didn't have a lot of any of that, but wanted to taste. Tomorrow they are bringing desserts for lunch. I'm going to avoid that since I don't need to go to work or be in town until later and don't need the calories. I did ask the office manager to save me a piece of cheesecake if they have that. Can't pass that up, can I? (In case you were wondering, the "they" is the board of directors. That daycare is a non-profit organization associated with the church.)

I gave running a try ... nope, I need a couple more days.

May 5: Got in my run today, did 1 mile on the treadmill.
8 -
No run for me today - ending up raking, mowing, spraying, and spreading fertilizer for six hours. Non-stop moving and I’m now shattered.

Morning all
Got in a 10K. 6.24M at 08'54.
@chris_in_cal you tried! Getting out there half the battle. Give yourself a day and try again 💪🏽
@John772016 oh it's an old thing now. I hate brunch. I have moaned about it endlessly in the past. Hence @quilteryoyo brining it up 😁
My null hypothesis is that it's just a Denny's breakfast with a few avocado slices at double the price. And it's only women that seem to love going for brunch.
5 -
“My null hypothesis is….”
spoken like a true math nerd @tarun_yadavA 😂
2 -
Rest up @chris_in_cal. A few more days and hopefully you’ll be back at it.
2 -
@quilteryoyo I need sexier legs…. 🤣
1 -
Give yourself time @chris_in_cal . Rest and recovery is important.
It is stormy right now, so I am going to have to wait and hopefully I will be able to get out and run in an hour or two.
3 -
Lol, well it was my sister's idea & she ordered the food @tarun_yadavA, but no breakfast food - mushroom pizza, mushroom pasta, kale salad & lots of red wine.

Total = 29.45km / 18.30 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)Was hoping the sun would show up this morning, but no luck until after I finished my run, so kept it inside. At least the rain is supposed to be done for the next few days.
You'll be back to it soon @chris_in_cal!

Well I managed a 7 mile run this morning before the really crazy deluges hit and actually felt pretty decent. My RHR is finally starting to come down again after the stupid head cold hit me last Thursday. The worst has been the sinus headaches but this virus has totally remained in my head and like Eleanor H mentioned to me on Strava as long as it stayed about my lungs it seems like running has been helping to clear my sinus faster.

04.05 walking, strolling 13km
06.05 1.7km 12min 7:08/km - benchmark run & strength1.68/81km - 14km behind
Finally checking in. Was in southern France and Monaco for a few days, walked a lot but didn't run. So I returned last night and today I did a strength session, and did a benchmark run for a new Garmin coach programme. Am quite a bit behind but hope I'll be able to catch up a bit again.

Re: Texas race meet up. I can commit to the Bryan college station HM. It sounds like the rest of the TX contingent is iffy. There's no rush to register just yet so we can check again in a few months and see where folks are.

May total: 20.3/100 miles

5/3: 10 miles
5/4: 3.2 miles
5/5: 3 miles
5/6: 4.1 miles
I have got to get better about logging! I look up and days have passed.
I went out today after work between storm bands. Super humid but no lightning! I have been watching the live stream for the cocodona 250 since yesterday. It's so good! They have cameras at most of the aid stations, studio commentators, field reporters and some drones doing shots of runners. It really gives you a good feel for the vibe around the race.
7 -
Went out after work since it was in the 60's. Just did 3 miles, but it felt like 13. My cardio is $#@! Treadmill apparently didn't help while I was (am) recovering. Oh well, only way is up from here
5 -
You'll get there @chris_in_cal . We used to have a member here who always said to give it two more days than you think you should.
Nice run @clementine003 .
That's a lot of work @ContraryMaryMary . Don't blame you for not running. I think you got plenty of exercise for the day.
Great run @tarun_yadavA .
Hahaha @WarmJellyfish ! Just cleaner and more even tan. Mine always look like that from mowing and tennis and running and all the other outdoor things I do. We call it a "farmers tan" in my little corner of the world.
Nice run @John772016 .
Great running @SummerSkier . I'm glad you are starting to feel better!
Sounds like a nice trip @yirara .
That sounds like a plan @martaindale . Nice runs.
@Scott6255 Slow and steady. You'll get back to where you were.

I got called into work today, but didn't have to be there until 11, so I did a treadmill run this morning. I took it a little easier, so the avg pace was 12:48 min/mile. Avg HR was 116 with a max of 139 bpm. My goal was to keep my HR between 110 and 130 bpm. I ran the first mile with no walk breaks. The rest I did at 5.0/4.0 mph to keep the HR in the zone.
The one year old's were a bit wild today - so much so that I looked up when the full moon was. Surprisingly, it wasn't today. 🤣

May Goal: 140 miles

5/2: 6.25 miles
5/4: 13.21 miles
5/5: 5.20 miles
5/6: 6.25 miles38.06/140 miles completed for May
The storms finally passed, and I got out for a 6-mile interval run. It was a good run. It was kind of cool and there was lots of running water in the streets, so lots of puddles. I hopped over some, but for some there was no choice but to run through them.
Facebook reminded me that 8 years ago today I ran my first 5K.
