I worked until 2 today in the two year old class. I had read the text wrong yesterday and just thought it was the one's. They were a little more chilled today, except they had a Mother's Day Brunch (It was more like a continental breakfast @tarun_yadavA) today so it was a little tough on some of them to be dropped off for the second time in the classroom. The baked zita was homemade and pretty good.
When I got home, I made a couple of phone calls. Each one was going to call me back, so I was torn as to whether to run on the treadmill or driveway. I compromised and ran short laps on the driveway so that, hopefully, had I heard the phone ring I could have sprinted to answer it. Of course, the call never came, but I got some outside time in and got my run completed.
I did a run/walk. It felt like I was running a lot faster, at least harder, than the Garmin pace showed. My Avg pace was 12:42 min/mile. Splits were 12:34, 12:49, and 12:45 min/mile. Avg HR was 142 with a max of 163 bpm.

shoe porn I usually have poor experience with sizing issues but I have to say saucony replaced these as soon as I dropped the return off with fedex They were just a size too small and I really wanted to try them
@kgirlhart i hope you got good news and this means you will be employed again soon
Got a decent 7 mile run in today and have to admit that I really love that distance and get the max endorphins for the effort lol

Good evening everyone,
I was able to run. It's nice to be heading back toward normalcy.
1.01M at 15'52
@SummerSkier Those look like princess ballet slippers(with black laces.) Very nice.

Morning all
Got in 5.5M at 09'45
@chris_in_cal good to see you back out there! And you too... @Scott6255
@John772016 good luck for your race on the wknd
7 -
Yeah @chris_in_cal it IS nice heading back to normal…. And did yall see the picture stayed small? That was from my IPAD post… seems pretty random, We are still having nice running mornings in the low 60's but next week it looks to get back to the 70 and 90's.
@John772016 I agree it can be shere stubbornness and goals which get you out the door. Good luck with the Mom's day race! hopefully the weather will cooperate for you.
Mornin' @tarun_yadavA ✅
SOrry about the phone thing @quilteryoyo but glad you got your run in. Maybe it felt faster because you were anticipating having to sprint back to catch the phone.
5 -
@SummerSkier Sounds like you've found your distance, for now. Love those new shoes!
Yeah for being able to run again @chris_in_cal !
Speedy today @tarun_yadavA .
I saw this on FB last night and thought it fit this group perfectly.

Woohoo, fastest 7km ever! Started running a bit too fast again, and that was punished by too high lactate. If I'd started a bit slower I might have been able to run a bit longer. Oh well…. Getting closer to goal distance again.

May Running:
May 3 - 4km (Country run!)
May 4 - 4kmTotal for May - 8km
May Goal - 100km, 92km to go@quilteryoyo I have some something like that on a shirt. Only it says "If I collapse, please pause my Garmin"
Today I went for a 2km walk on my lunch break. I take a shorter lunch break on Fridays as I leave earlier as I work in a kids program at my church on Friday nights. I wanted to avoid the street work and closed sidewalk (Which now has cement barricades around it so it will be closed for awhile) I turned and went up the side street and went up and up and up and up……….. Needless to say, I will never be running that street! 😂 😂 😂 I did see a beautiful tree.

I'm in E Texas this weekend to help my dad out as he recovers from a minor surgical procedure. He lives in a tiny town along an ongoing rail to trail conversion called the NE TX trail. It stretches 133 miles from NE of Dallas to within a few miles of Texarkana. Some parts of it are asphalt paved and well maintained; others are dirt but still passable. There are still a few spots with detours but on the whole it's a pretty nice trail system.
I ran out and back on a section that is dirt but passable, basically right out his front door. I was warned it would be muddy because they had several inches of rain earlier in the week so I brought trail shoes. Overall it was runable but there were some sections with standing water that required some walking off trail to get around. So, it was a slow run but I enjoyed trying out a new trail. It was nice to have an option that got me off the streets because the town he lives in has a loose dog problem. It's really hard to run here because you will certainly encounter some dogs and you never know how they will behave.

Congratulations @yirara ! You are doing great!
Nice walk. That is a beautiful tree @angf0679 .
Nice @Mari33a .
@martaindale That sounds like a good place for a run - the trail that is. Hopefully they will get the entire thing finished and usable soon.

Today marks 4 years of my streak of at least 1 mile running or fast walking. I had intended to run 4 miles to commemorate, but had a busy day, so didn't have time for much. (My streak would have been from 8 Jan 2020, but I had the stomach flu a year ago and couldn't get off the couch. That's the only day I've missed.)
I spent the day with mom and my neighbor. First thing we did was go car shopping. I am pretty sure I am going to get a Subaru Crosstrek. I really like the way the drive and the leg room for passengers.
After that, mom had an appointment with the nephrologist. Her bloodwork is showing a decline in kidney function, but she is not having any symptoms, so we are just keeping check on it and hoping it will get a little better over time instead of worse….or at least stay steady.
Next stop was lunch at Carrabba's Italian restaurant. It was good, but a bit pricey. Good thing we were there in time for the lunch menu. 😁
Then we went to our local library annual book sale. This is the third weekend of the sale so you get as many books as you can fit in a plastic grocery bag for $3, no limit on the number of bags. We probably fit 25 paperbacks into a bag for mom. I got a cookbook, landscaping book, running book, and some for the daycare.
Then grocery shopping and home. Sure didn't feel like doing a lot by then, so a driveway walk it was.

I ran 5 miles before work this morning. The moon was beautiful as it was setting in the sky. Probably no run tomorrow. I’m helping time a race in the morning and then planning to get in a bicycle ride on the trail.
@quilteryoyo - I love having a new car but hate car shopping! Hope your choice and experience is an easy one!
@daria0919 - A couple of friends and I signed up for the Richmond HM in November! I hope you will be around and we can have a meet-up.
Good luck with your race on Sunday @John772016!

Parkrun this morning. I felt pretty good but still need to get back a minute in overall time that I’ve lost since this time last year - but what’s 12 seconds per kilometre between friends? Stunning day out there after a couple of very wet ones. Warm again too.

Morning all
Got in 11.0M at 09'58.
As always, thank you @quilteryoyo @SummerSkier 😊
Nice speedy run @ContraryMaryMary
Love that you guys @Teresa502 and @daria0919 might meet up later... And @chris_in_cal & @martaindale !!!
I'm out tonight. Been awhile. D!psh !t friend (who's wedding I went to in NC last Nov) is leaving England. Quit his job, dropped custody cases... And is going to be a house husband in Charlotte 🤦🏽🤷🏽
He's leaving. So tonight is a plus wives one at someone else's house. (So can't get too too drunk - as women and kids about! Lol)
May not a good month for me though. Birthday... So one outing date night with missus, one plus family, and two guys nights with two different sets of guy friends.
6 -
Haha @tarun_yadavA you can make it a good month. YOu just have to pace yourself. (I mean I know that is not going to happen) but perhaps if you think about how awful you will feel the next morning you might give yourself some grace?
@quilteryoyo CONGRATULATIONS on your streak. That is an amazing one and it makes me want to keep going even when it is tough. 👏👏👏 Hope that you can figure out the blood work with your mom - did they recommend any sort of special diet to help? And a new car!!! that will be fun.
I see some meet ups being planned! We will need to traditional photos with cake of course. 😀
5 -
Nice running @Teresa502 . I hope you have a great day with the race and ride. The weather seems pretty perfect for both. I usually take forever to find a new car because I hate the shopping experience too. But, I had researched beforehand and already had in mind what I wanted, if it drove well. Now, to research prices and see what kind of a deal I can get. LOL
Sounds like a great park run @ContraryMaryMary .
Nice running @kgirlhart .
@Mari33a I applaud you for getting up so early to get your run in! Have a fun day!
Great run @tarun_yadavA . On the upside, it appears the friend's marriage is sticking this time. That does sound like a "tough" month, but you will get through it and enjoy every minute (well, most of them).
Thanks @SummerSkier . No special diet suggested for mom. Just told her to eat well and drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of exercise…all things that she is already doing. She said it could be that her kidneys got damaged if she had been really sick and dehydrated and it just takes a long time to recover from that. We are hoping that is the case, even though we couldn't recall her being sick last fall…which is when this all started.

I slept in and missed the open window for the rain started. Oops. I am waiting on the heavy bands of rain (and I mean heavy). I have my eye on the weather radar. I WILL get a run in later today
It's also delayed as I need to charge my Garmin 🤦♀️

Got out late this morning and it was pretty warm (66F), but that will seem be very cool in just a week or two. It was a good run though. 4 miles with a van push towards the end (a van was stalled in the middle of an intersection so I pushed him out of traffic while he steered). So it was a good workout 😊

Nah, I missed my chance to run with @martaindale when she did the princess thing up the road at Disneyland a couple of months ago.

@tarun_yadavA @SummerSkier @Teresa502 I smiled at the comments and indeed, if I did not have a leash on me, I would be pushing the miles. I just want to run.

May Running:
May 3 - 4km (Country run!)
May 4 - 4km
May 10 - 7kmTotal for May - 15km
May Goal - 100km, 85km to goI waited out the heavy bands of rain and then I went. It was a struggle when I first started, but once I got past the 2km it was great! I wanted to keep going and go longer, but I had no water with me and no fuel and knew that was a bad idea. With the rain we have been having today there was a lot of puddles. Puddle running is fun!
At one point a came up behind a couple out walking. I called out a a couple times as I was coming up and they didn't hear me - not until I was on top of them. Both of them screamed and the guy asked what was wrong with me. What was wrong with me? What is wrong with you? I called out and didn't hear me! I am just trying to get around you as I am out running!5 -
Posting a couple days as I was offline for a bit.
Thanks for the good wishes for the Mother's Day race folks!
Great runs everyone!!! I'm a liker if not always a commenter.
Congrats on the 4 year streak @quilteryoyo, nicely done!
Those shoes look very speedy @SummerSkier!
Enjoy the birthday celebrations @tarun_yadavA!
Good job getting out @angf0679 (even if you're scaring the neighbours😮)May:

09/05 - 0km - Stationary bike ride for 25kms
10/05 - 7.52km / 4.67 miles
Total = 45.35km / 34.69 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)Originally planned a rest day today, but my former staff took me out for a birthday dinner/drinks last night. Great food & company.
My actual birthday was in April, but as I had two birthday celebrations this week, decided to burn off a bit more calories with another run. Didn't hurt that it was a beautiful day in the city.Apparently, the temperature is supposed to drop about 17⁰C before my race tomorrow - will still be a nice sunny, but cooler morning, think I need to give the running clothes a rethink

Nice shoes @SummerSkier !
Congratulations on your streak @quilteryoyo . That is really impressive!
Good getting out there @angf0679!

Nice run @Scott6255 . Very nice of you to help out the van owener too.
You're doing great @AlphaHowls . Hang in there.
Nice run @angf0679 . Sounds like you channeled your inner child for the puddles. Sorry the guy was rude.
Thanks @John772016 . Great running and having 2 months of birthday celebrations is the way to go. I hope it isn't too cold for you in the morning.
Thanks @kgirlhart . Nice long run today. Enjoy your Mother's Day outing tomorrow.
