@John772016 wow. Hope you can get that nerve pain to resolve quickly. I had a bout of something with my back/ referred pain shooting about a year ago which had me wondering if I would ever get back to normal or be able to sleep without an ice pack. One day I started getting a bad headache during that time and took an excedrine migraine. I was flabbergasted when it helped the back pain. Crazy. Anyway I ended up taking that for a while and eventually the pain / injury subsided. But nothing had helped previously to that. I hope you can find your "excedrin" relief soon.

I was going to run 6 miles this morning, but I had to cut it short and only ran 5.84. We had storms overnight and early this morning. I thought I had a good window to run, but it started to thunder about 2 miles from home and then about a block from home it started to rain. I hated to stop at .84, but I knew my husband would be worried about the thunder, so I stopped when I got home.
I stopped to take a picture of a tree that was down at the park. And then I noticed these two squirrels watching me. Of course, they weren't looking at me in any of the pictures.
It's good to see you back @swenson19d . I'm sorry you have had such a rough time. I can't remember who the racoon gal is, but the squirrels are kind of cute. And here's a picture of some baby possums. I posted them last month after they came through the crawl space under my house and took a nap in a motorcycle helmet.

Good work @John772016, nerve pain is hard to run through. I hope you find a solution soon.
I thought I’d be running in a storm this morning too @kgirlhart but the ominous clouds kindly moved on.
Welcome back @swenson19d, I remember when your younger son died, I can’t believe things continued to go so badly for you. I’m so sorry to hear about your older child. Good to see you back and hopefully you can get back into running sometime soon.
Fabulous work on your half @Laurz9191, that added pre-race stress can’t have been pleasant.
And @WarmJellyfish, were you tired on your run? That’s when I start tripping as I don’t pick my feet up properly, although cute critters is a perfectly valid excuse for faceplanting!
After a night of heavy rain, we woke to grey skies but the promise of sunshine so hubby and I walked to our local for coffee. The clouds were very black and I assumed I’d be running in the rain. Turns out I got blazing sunshine instead, which I was very happy about.
Got 6km in. My muscles were achy from Pilates but it didn’t appear to be my running muscles (usually my quads and glutes get smashed but perhaps the short post-Pilates run is doing its job?), so while sore, my legs were happy to do their thing.

@WarmJellyfish That's a beautiful spot for a run! Glad you didn't get hurt when you fell. I feel the same way about deer that you do about the rabbits…how do they just go from standing still to jumping over a fence and not break those skinny skinny legs?
Glad to see you back @swenson19d . I know it has been a while and you've gone through a lot. I hope you will do more than contemplate and start walking/running a bit and keep posting here. I knew about the youngest son. So sorry about your oldest. Hugs to you. Racoon lady - I know who you are talking about - lived in Memphis, but can't think of her name on here. She hasn't posted in a long time either.
Hahaha @chris_in_cal . Of course it counts. If not logging negated the run, we'd all be in trouble. 😂
@yirara Glad your run went well and you didn't get hurt worse when you dropped the barbell.
@SummerSkier Great running and what we listen to really can affect us a lot. I hope they get the spoiler fixed soon too.
Thanks @Mari33a . Great rainy run.
I hope that nerve pain gets better soon @John772016 . Get job on getting out the door before your brain could stop you. 😜

Of course, on a day when I didn't have to be anywhere, I wasn't feeling the best. I had some minor tummy issues and just felt blah this morning…the dreary weather didn't help, I'm sure.
Anyway, after a 2 hour hiatus on the couch, I felt better and went to the basement for a treadmill wun. I really had planned on just doing 1 mile, but once I got going, it was okay and I felt much better. The run was a 2/1 min run/walk. Avg pace was 12:38 min/mile. Avg HR was 127 with a max of 159 bpm. Max pace was 5.7 mph.

@quilteryoyo i think it was @rheddmobile who had the raccoons.
6 -
I need a definition for this. I missed what it means.
"boyfriend run"
I have June ready to post, but will wait and see what I am supposed to add
3 -
It was @rheddmobile . I wonder how she is.

-
gawd. I wish they would stop already
3 -
With GPS evidence this time, I ran 2.00M at 13'39 tonight.
7 -
'boyfriend run' - 12.1 mins per mile is the perfect 'run date' speed
'girlfriend run' - you better keep up, no matter what the speedYes/no?
5 -
Morning all
Got in 6.0M at 09'50.
.
@chris_in_cal if it's on Strava - then yes. It counts. Beauty of us doing this in two places.
@SummerSkier the one dressed like he's 007 licence to kill seems nice LOL
@swenson19d welcome (back!) nice to meet you. Sorry to read the last 5 or so years have been so horrible for you
6 -
@AlphaHowls I think that is perfect… LOL. Maybe @tarun_yadavA has additional thoughts. 😳😳 feels like Monday on Tuesday but at least it is cooler this morning.
4 -
@swenson19d welcome! I’ve not been with this group long enough to have known you from before. I too lost a son. It’s a horrible thing and I feel for you. ((Hugs)) Looking forward to having you in our group.
@SummerSkier it’s that photo of you and that beautiful horse that attracts the friends! 😆 When I changed my photo to the flowers (instead of a photo of me) my suitors dropped considerably 😂😂
4 -
Yes. It was @rheddmobile . I hope she is doing okay.
@SummerSkier I haven't had any requests in a while. I just delete them and move on. I would have been more inclined to at least look at them if we still had the newsfeed, but now, it's kinda useless to have "friends" anyway. Makes me wonder who is accepting their requests.
Hahaha Nice run @chris_in_cal .
Love it @AlphaHowls .
Great run @tarun_yadavA . Looks like you have recovered from your birthday outings.
2 -
Haha. I agree with this!
12.1 is the new 'oooohhh who did you run this with?' pace. 😜
Lol @ girlfriend pace

Heat training this week. Predicted to be around 30c for the next few days. I'm going to melt….
@John772016 you shouda seen the nasty cut on my finger after my tumble during a race last dec, probably got cut by my pole, emergency first aid consisted of tissue paper and the glove to hold it in place as I still had 9k to go to the next aid station. I probably used up all their bandaids and kitchen towels as I was still dripping the red stuff. Thought I might need stitches but decided on home made stitch closures with mini bandaids. I'm prone to bleeding too 🤣 Hope you get a fix for your nerve pain.
@kgirlhart squirrels!
@chris_in_cal yay for the GPS'd run
@ContraryMaryMary Nice coffee walk you had! Was probably some tired, but mostly because I was deliberately going slowly in Zone 2/3 and the slower I go the more klutzy I become as I don't pay attention to the trail 🙄 I also recently found out I have mild sleep apnea so that probably made things a bit more fuzzy. Pic off the net of a snowshoe hare. I saw a young one so it was even cuter. The first time I saw one, I thought it had mukluk boots on it's feet!
@quilteryoyo Great you got it done. I did have a minor hamstring pull but nothing advil can't fix (yet)😂
@swenson19d waves hi sorry about the troubles.
@SummerSkier you lucky devil…. j/k what @daria0919 said. I don't get any requests with my profile pic! 🤣
I'm also definitely not getting any dates at my tortoise pace 🤣 But I outran the hare… 😎
@AlphaHowls I ain't keeping up, boyfriend or girlfried unless I can find nitrous….😂
@tarun_yadavA 😂 about pace and nice run!

Thanks @SummerSkier, @ContraryMaryMary, @quilteryoyo & @WarmJellyfish, I've been living with nerve numbness (left leg/foot & arm) for about 8 yrs, so when there is pain, I get worried as normally I don't feel much on the left….(a gross TMI story in spoiler)
Nice runs @kgirlhart, @ContraryMaryMary, @quilteryoyo, @chris_in_cal, & @tarun_yadavA!
Your story reminded me of an ER visit @WarmJellyfish, my last ravine trail run crash & ER visit (not my last wipeout/ER visit unfortunately), the ER Dr asked the usual: 1) What did you do?; 2) Did you finish your run?; and this particular time surprised me with, 3) Weren't you in a lot of pain running out of the trail? My response to the 3rd Q was, 'Yes, but I had almost 5km left to get off the trail…. it hurt to run, it hurt to walk, at least running hurt for a shorter amount of time.'
I once dropped a full glass casserole dish of chili (which really exploded!) in my kitchen. While I was cleaning up the truly epic mess, was noticing how much red there was…. didn't think I used that many tomatoes…..
Turns out the glass casserole, that shattered into many pieces, had lodged several of those pieces into my left foot. I wasn't cleaning up exploded chili (after the first few minutes), it was blood from my foot, that I kept bleeding on the floor, wiping up and then noticing new red streaks on the floor and cleaning up.
Didn't feel a damn thing.9 -

@John772016 all I can say is… you’re a walking (or maybe I should say running) disaster 😂😂
4 -
@John772016 #3! I know! since we are comparing war wounds, there was this one time coming down a particularly steep mountain trail in March, so there was a lot of frozen water aka ice, that was somewhat covered in dirt, so I didn't see it and I was speeding. Hit it flat out, even wearing spikes, went woopsy, landed on my arm on ribs. Needless, I felt cracking. Still had about 2 km to get to the bottom. Found out I couldn't laugh or cough. No more running downhill since the bouncing was a no go. Figured I broke a rib. Not a single soul on the trail then. Met some buddies at the bottom just starting out and they later told me they saw where I wiped out. 😂 lol. On the drive home, I was debating to still go to this social event I signed up for (because the medic in me knew nothing could be done for broken ribs) or go to the hospital. Being a curious cat,I went to the hospital. At least I found out what I broke, 2 ribs…..😂
6 -
…… with close competition by @WarmJellyfish!! 😆
5 -
@WarmJellyfish That is a cute "hare." The rabbits around here don't wear boots, or snowshoes. 😉 I'm glad Advil is all you need.
@John772016 Love your answer to the doctor about hurting for a shorter period of time. That is a pretty bad story under the spoiler. I'm glad it turned out okay. I would think it would be really hard to walk/run with that amount of numbness. I hope nothing serious is making that side hurt. Great run today.

Did a driveway wun today. I expected to go pretty slowly since the pavement is slick in spots when wet, but was able to get a decent pace. The run was at an avg of 12:25 min/mile. Avg HR was 132 with a max of 158 bpm. My legs felt great, but I had a hard time breathing today. I think it was partly due to the humidity - had rained a bit over night. I ran the last 0.26 miles at a 9:35 min/mile pace. If I hadn't had to walk for about 20 sec to catch my breath, it would have been faster! LOL
We have the best neighbors. Mom had a dermatology appointment this afternoon (had some spots burned off, but otherwise okay), and we ran some errands. When we got home, a neighbor had unexpectedly tilled her garden!

Morning (or not, as it turns out). Pilates and a wee run for me today.
