Hugely relieved. The girls really love the dressing table set, and are prepared to share it. Bea said, "And then we can pass it on to our children, and then their children." They were amused about the hatpin stand. Makes me happy. My son didn't have time to collect the sets tonight as he was in a rush to take Bea swimming, but he can collect them tomorrow.

Edie went into the sea today with her mum. DDIL had to hold her hand when she wobbled (it was very calm) because her wrist hasn't healed yet. They arrived home in their 'dry robes'.

Very warm here. I may pop out early tomorrow, as I spied four old fashioned glass sundae dishes in the charity shop while I was waiting for the bus. It sounds a bit crazy to be buying stuff when I am chucking so much out, but I loved the pink glass. The girls often have ice cream with us when they come over. I will ring them before I set out, to make sure they are still there.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

There are times like when I know food must have a scent as its cooking, or a nice candle that would smell nice, or if I got a hold of some "Opium" perfume from Yves Saint Laurent, my mommas favorite scent, then I get bummed. But there's lots of unpleasant scents in this world I don't have to bother with.

    Today's diary

It was a good day. Also got to chat with my middle sister a long while. I has asked her if she was keeping cool this weekend and it probably triggered her remembering I had a birthday. She apologized.

Tomorrow I am having lunch with a girlfriend. Unsettling not knowing where we're going, hard to plan, peruse the menu etc. But this is a learning thing to see if I can eat off the cuff without pre logging in my food. I know, decisions!

my sister has not been checked to see if she has it but I am assuming she does. Mom called today and said they will be moving her in to a rehab place. Not sure for how long. Don't know all the real details. Mom was a bit confused about exactly what is going on with my sister. One minute she was saying she was having seizures then later she said something about her having a stroke. I will message my sister and tell her when she feels up to it to message me or call me. I was able to at least let her younger son know she was in the hospital. He can let his brother know- I don't have a number for him plus he wouldn't care to know. He and his mom do not get along at all(because my sister chose boyfriends over her sons while they were growing up).

One thing that might be good to come out of all of this is she won't be able to drink. Stopping cold turkey has to be rough, maybe the pain meds will help for a while

I have a site on FB called Garage of Blessings and people post things they need or things they're giving away for free. I just piled it all on the table and some cane by at 10 am. Grandson for the summer, anything helps she said. Nice lady. We hugged because we chatted for awhile.

Margaret - I have 2 of these exact benches, purchased years ago. I don't think they sell them anymore - my neighbor saw mine last year and spent hours online looking for them, no luck. They are the perfect height for us taller gals. At the time, I bought one for gardening and one for a shower chair! 😉 I'll put mine in my will, lol. Very stable and easy to clean.

Pip - great paint job on the lantern, you have brought new life to this antique. ((((Yogi))))

Barbie - there are times I wish I had back-up cameras on my cars - my parallel parking skills have gotten rusty. Your car sounds very nice. Everyone who remembers the roll down windows and the front seat side vent which was air conditioning back in the day, raise your hand.😁 And who remembers bench seats in the front? I kinda miss a bench seat when my back is kicking up and I struggle to get out of the "bucket" lol. Pickup trucks might still have bench seats.

Heather - so glad the girls like that dressing table set. It's stunning. Love that they are already making plans to pass it on to their future children. Good move. Those ice cream dishes are very nice, glad they were still there for you.

Rebecca - please remind me again how you lost your sense of smell? By the way, good job on getting your protein. Your food log is sensational and inspirational!

Michele - I too look homeless when I'm working in the yard. DH's old T-shirts with grease stains, his old his old sweatshirts and sweatpants. I have to roll up the sleeves on his sweat shirts - his arms were much longer and the shirts are kinda baggy but who cares.

Tracey - I got one of my mom's diaries, entries much like your mother's. She recorded the weather, people who stopped by, what my dad was up to on the farm. Just reading those few lines, I can visualize being there and spending time with her.

Lisa - good luck with that shoulder, what an aggravation.

Annie - great job on the weight loss. I'm going to have to check out Jason Seib.

Debbie - I am very glad you had the DEXA scan done. Do your mom or aunts/grandmothers have any osteoporosis symptoms like broken bones, stooped posture? You've probably mentioned and it whipped right by me. Hope your sis is doing better.

AlgaeCal - Ads for AlgaeCal keep popping up on FB so I finally went onto their website to see what the fuss was about. They have one supplement "proven to build bone". The main ingredient? Strontium Citrate! 680 mg per day taken at night — don't take any calcium within 2 hours. Strontium Citrate was used in the COMB study and based on that, some of us have been taking it. It's available on Amazon or Vitacost for a fraction of what AlgaeCal charges. No surprise there.

I made a big shopping trip yesterday morning, came home and mowed dandelions. My area is now entering normal summer drought conditions - grass has stopped growing, only dandelions and weeds will keep going in our lawns. I miss seeing the lush green grass that grows all summer in other parts of the country but not the rain that hampers mowing or the extra work it takes, like Lisa and Margaret are encountering. When I finish mowing I take the leaf blower and clean it that way. I keep a putty knife handy to clean the weed eater and scrape off any grass that threatens to clog it, works fine.

I'm behind in reading posts but will get this one posted. I started it yesterday. 😫
