7/9:7/3: slow and steady progress; I've definitely been more focused since Sunday, so this is a "streak" for me. The key will be keeping on track through the 4th weekend- tonight a client invited us to a party to watch fireworks over the river; it'll be pretty spectacular.
Thank you everyone for the prayers and good thoughts for my DB. I appreciate the support…

Slow-and-steady wins the race! Enjoy the extended weekend! 🤗

I can't believe the stubborn 1 lb. finally left. I even weighed myself in 3 different places at home to be sure it was correct. AND my water weight was higher (49.9%) compared to my first weigh in (48.6%). Muscle % same at 29.1. That was fat that left finally. The craziest thing was that yesterday I skipped cardio, just did weights, and ate way more than normal.
7/1 - 138.1 lbs.
7/2 - Oopsie forgot to weigh in
7/3 - 137 (YAY!!!!!!!!!!!)

SW RND 3️⃣0️⃣1️⃣ ~ 231 Goal this round 227.6 or less than started, whichever comes first!6/30 231.2
7/1 231 ~ New Month. Working to control the things that I can! Apple has a sense of humor. I closed all my rings 19 times last month. Guess what my monthly goal is for July, close all your rings 19 times! At least it's doable and somewhat motivating as I'm 6/6 on receiving the awards in 2025 and I want to be 12/12. I hope they don't give me something outrageous in the months to come. I was 9/12 in 2024 and 10/12 in 2023.
7/2 231 ~🍎💧🚫 yesterday was a work day, so nothing extra, did get my exercise in and my steps but fell a bit short on closing my rings….late post for today ~ it was a long day, had to drive down (90 min) to take my sister to an MRI. She’s still not aware of her diagnosis, just that they need some additional test. Still hoping to get to speak with the doctor before her next appointment next Tuesday. Somewhat of a stressful day and didn’t plan meals well. Did get on the treadmill this morning and I will close my rings. Tomorrow may just be a RTW day! Looking forward to a nice long walk tomorrow!
7/3 230.4 ~🚶🏽🍎💧🚫⬇️ I'm glad I didn't refuse to weigh…it wasn't bad at all even though we ended the day with pizza and salad! My first AM weigh was 230.8, my after 3 mile walk was 229.0, so I'm reporting the average for my mental state…. I need to see some movement! I did close my rings yesterday and I will also close today.

7/9Hey @RossC2025 ~ I see you making progress!! Nice!
@Skyleen75 ~ I like that you're going to "enjoy the body you're in". I am working to adopt a similar mindset… I want to enjoy the journey. It's not a quick fix and life doesn't happen when…..
@SModa61 ~ Yes, you read that correctly. She is not yet aware of her diagnosis, and that's all on me. She is mentally disabled, yet highly functional (she lives alone). In my opinion, the hardest thing when you receive a not so fun diagnosis is the waiting to know 1) How bad it is and 2) the next steps. This is the period when time stands stills. So, if I don't get to talk to the doctor, I will tell her just prior to her appointment on Tuesday so she's not in a state turmoil for very long. I honestly don't know how she will react. With her condition, she may take it with a grain of salt or she may put 2 and 2 together (my Mom and older Sister had it) and think it's a death sentence. I just don't know.
@Chapter_3 ~ Sounds like your DH and his brothers are very close (and close in age) which is very nice. I hope they have a great time and you enjoy your focus time.
@ReignFromAshes ~ Photos are definitely eye opening…so is an unexpected mirror. I believe the "brain" has what it's believes we look like and it's not too jarring for us. So when we look in our mirror (at home) for example, we see an image, agree that it need improvement and we move on. BUT..have you ever been in a store and caught a reflection unexpectedly….. OUCH!! That's the true image IMO.
@globalhiker ~ does this mean you are at goal???? Or are you waiting to see it settle in for a couple of days…either way….Congrats!
Our patio is supposed to be done by the 5th. I assume they are not working on the 4th. They have quite a bit to finish up…. 🤞🏽

6/30- 168.87/01- 166.57/02- 166.37/03- 166.1 - A tiny drop is still a drop! I ended up forgetting that I was only supposed to eat 3/4 of the dinner I had packaged up during meal prep so I was over on carbs yesterday. Luckily protein, fats, and deficit was all intact so I'm happy overall. Not sure plans (or food) for this weekend since BF is on call for work from 8am tomorrow (Friday) until 8am Friday next week and tomorrow is a holiday (Independence Day). Will do my best to keep things balanced and mindful3 -
Thanks! Yes, I'm doing well, …so far. 🤣 Kudos for closing your rings, yesterday! Have a Happy 4th of July!

@itladyee Im still having trouble closing my rings on exercise. I’ll keep at it 🚶♀️Hope your sister’s appointment goes well. We went through that with my mom and it’s not easy. Hope your patio gets done on time! 🙏
@globalhiker Congratulations on the stubborn one pound ❤️🎉🥳
@judefit1 Inspiring progress! I’d love to be at your CW. 🙏
4 -
@GayleKCR ~ what do you have your rings set to for exercise? Maybe reduce them a bit so that you are consistently closing and then go up 1 minute (or what seems doable) each week?
Let's say you have it set for 30 minutes but fall short and hit 20 all the time. Change the goal to 20 for a few days… If successful, now move to 22 minutes and hit that for a few…keep going to hit that new level!!

07/01 – 188.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 190.4)
07/02- 190.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 190.4) I actually didn’t do too bad during the out-to-dinner and out-of-town birthday celebration mainly held for my son who turned 29 yesterday. I didn’t do too badly at the restaurant but for the rest of the night at home….humph. To say I was like a pig in a pig’s trough wouldn’t be 100% accurate. More like a wild boar in a pig’s trough who hasn’t seen food in weeks! Anyway, I really blew it with my self-sabotage. I know that’s what it was because I continued eating even when I was so full it was trying to come back up! Disgusting, I know. That’s a true binge! I’m grateful the scale wasn’t higher. I’m already working on a much better and healthier day today which I hope will show up for me tomorrow. Enjoy hump day, my friends!
🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️07/03-188.8 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 190.2) Okay, right back down to the weight I was before my disgusting binge. NOW, to start making progress although I must be honest and say it may not be during this Holiday Independence Day weekend! I’ll do my best but Saturday’s BBQ and Sunday’s weigh in is going to be tough. At least there are enough days left in the round to bring it back around if I apply myself!

3 -
@lolakinks Water weight still takes up space! Congrats on the continued losses. Your dress is going to look beautiful!
5 -
@RossC2025 I throughly agree and I advocate for pre-tracking. There have been times that I would pre-track my whole upcoming week, which can actually work well as it assists with grocery shopping lists as well. Summer is always a more difficult stretch for me as I get hit with more surprises than the rest of the year. Welcome to JGM10D!
5 -
@_JeffreyD_ I got a laugh about your dermatologist comment how it will not impacting the scale. I remember during my years working for weight watchers and that I would have a few women take off their diamond rings before getting on the scale, and I would think how I don't care how nice a ring it may be, it will NOT change the scale. I even had one woman lose her ring that way (fortunately we found it).
5 -
Thanks for the welcome, @SModa61! I used to do my entire menu for the week, but now, I just plan my dinners, then work around them with my leftover calories. Impromptu meals (or pub crawls) are what kill me. It seems that everyone wants to drag me out to do things AFTER the majority of my calories are spent. I need to become a hermit! 🤣
4 -
LOL! Reminds me of this meme…
4 -
@itladyee What you described makes total sense and I had wondered if maybe you had medical POA for your sister. That's a huge responsibility, and I am sorry it has fallen upon you. Your sister is so very lucky to have you looking out for her. I do hope that your sister's case is able to be treated, and able to put her in remission.
5 -
@RossC2025 yes, socializing is complicated.
Also, as for tracking, I often start with the most challenging meal of a given day (whichever meal that may be), and then like you said, I work the rest of the day around it.
Then, unfortunately, I get derailed. I have a variety of triggers. Stay here long enough, you will know me and my triggers. :P
Editing to add: I like the meme!!! :)
5 -
I'm thinking a lot of people will be crying on Saturday morning…
6 -
re: triggers, LOL! I think I remember you from many moons ago. I think I was originally on MFP back in the JGMTD mid-Round 100's (…before I left for LoseIt): Salt, sugar, chips, candy, and stress? I hope you've overcome all of them. :)
4 -
I don't think I have too many triggers, although I do get the munchies, sometimes, when I over-imbibe. I also can't watch cooking shows without snacks and wine!
5 -
Hah, we likely did@RossC2025 overlap! My round "1" was round 127.
Another weightwatcher receptionist story kinda relates to your latest meme. "Dim" was a nice guy about 450 lbs, and he was working very hard to loss weight. I always remember his comment about drinking and how, when he drinks, he concludes that he is way too sexy to worry about losing weight, and he ends up eating way too much. I know that I give a heck of a lot less once I have even one drink. That's where the pre-tracking, we discussed, can get me through.

We have company coming for the weekend and I’m just not feeling it.
My attitude is a choice though so I’m going to work really hard to turn it around.
This is life- there is always twenty things that need to be done, there is never enough time to get it all done. I can’t please everyone. I’m not perfect.I’ve been way too hard on myself lately and it shows with my wild eating.
I need an attitude adjustment!

Happy to be starting a new ten days. These will be my last ten days before my birthday, when I will be firmly ensconced in the upper 60’s. (yes I know, I am already in my upper 60’s)This round will have Independence Day along with traditional get-togethers. DD and her boyfriend will join us for a couple days so our whole family will be together for some parade, cookout and fireworks. My grands LOVE their aunt and “uncle” from out of town.
Without the goals above yesterday, my calories would be in a galaxy far far away, and I would have just stayed inside without getting a nice long walk done.

I could get into this downward trend.Another hot day yesterday. Spent most of it with DGS. Some of that was reading at the public pool along with DW while he frolicked around making new friends and using the water slides.
Another walk before dark saved the day. I LOVE the long days of summer. I capped the day with a game of Gin Rummy with DW where she came from WAY behind to beat me. We just score wins and not all the other fluff that true Gin players do. I am ahead for 2025, 12 games to 11.

Started up a small group bible study yesterday. It will go for 6 weeks with a couple week break in the middle. Good friends. Of course I brought Dunkin Munchkins and ate about 8 of them myself. I didn’t know they were 55-60 calories a pop, and I forgot to log them until this morning. I wondered how my CI could be so low yet I add almost half a pound. Mis-logging, that’s how. Thankfully I was still on target. One of my problems is mis-logging. Either I totally forget something, or I tell myself a little white-lie about the probable calorie count or quantity, or I just don’t know the actual quantity. (I don’t want a food scale on the counter) It might be helpful to log as I go without saving the reckoning until the end of the day.
7/3: 223.0

Missed the target by a bunch. Total weakness yet the scale did not tattle on me. Probably a penalty tomorrow. I should control myself today since Friday will be a food fest.I will have something removed by my dermatologist today. Not enough to show up on the scale tomorrow. HA!

Lots of self-control yesterday. Excellent exercise (18 mile bike ride plus lawn mowing) and good food choices.Feeling like I am on a roll, but today is a big food fest day. Happy Birthday USA! 250 Years. I am so old I remember the Bicentennial Celebration. (I don’t remember the signing of the Declaration of Independence.) I will be cooking part of the meal today. Brats and chicken on the grill and baked beans on the smoker.
DD got here last night after midnight. (I slept through it) Looking forward to hugging her when she wakes up.
